4 Rejoice in the Lord always.
I will say it again: Rejoice!

5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-7 NIV

I really need to remember Philippians 4:4-7 this week. My son is getting married on Saturday and the rehearsal and dinner are on Friday eve.

There are many people problems in my family, so I pray all goes well.

Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Well, so far my son's water heater blew out today, so he has to buy and install a new one....4 days until the wedding.

Then his fiancee's mother called me to say that there is a funeral at the church tomorrow, so she has to go take down all the pew bows, candles, etc that we set up for the wedding.

Praying that the rest of the week goes smoothly.

Could use prayers for family members to be obedient to God.

``If God is for us, who can be against us?
prayers in Obediance..shared
To cheer out in the mist of trouble is so odd.. yet, so true.
to give thanks before the trouble at hand..
to bow..
To have Joy, when all is foul..
to give when we have nothing..
to be strong when weakness drenches us..
to love when hate surrounds us..
oh, to be a christian.. a Believer..
and know that its what is inside US
that lives and speaks through us..
That faith we thrist,
and as we look deep within our pockets
for Courage and Strength..
there we find a mustard seed..
and Greatness flows from our eyes,
to know there lies our fate.
Study in The Word my friends daily..
Boston has over come Fear
with love..from above
Our Nation under GOD..

Plowing a straight furrow was easy, I thought. I didn't need my father or grandfather telling me what to do.

The first furrow plowed was the most important. It had to be straight, especially when you had acres of land to plow. Each time back and forth you had to put the right wheels of your tractor into the furrow you had just plowed. This was your guide. If you got the first furrow straight, the whole field would end up straight and square. If you got the first furrow crooked, every pass you made was then crooked. This resulted in more time and work at the end of the job, trying to square what was crooked.

Well, Dad had this notion that you should never look back when plowing. You should pick out a spot , such as a tree or fence post, at the end of the field (sometimes hundreds of yards away) and never take your eyes off of it. Keep focused and never look back.

I thought, ``How dumb! How are you going to know if you are plowing straight if you don't look back sometimes to see how you're doing?''

Throwing Dad's advice out the window I decided to do it my own way, just once. Looking back I tried to make a straight furrow. Problem is, you can't steer very well looking back. You keep trying to jerk the wheel one way or another to overcompensate. You can't straighten out something that's crooked. (See Ecclesiastes 1:15a).

The words of Christ popped out at me as I read the Bible one day: ``No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.'' (Luke 9:62) Dad's advice was from the Lord!

Too many of us try to steer our lives by looking back. We look back and blame our crookedness on our bad home life, environment, circumstances, abuse, parents, teachers, church, or society, rather than forgetting those things and going on. Go forward. Jesus said don't look back.

Paul the Apostle said, ``Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.'' (Philippians 3:13,14).

Lymetoo quoting the word of God that He has become our salvation. The definition of salvation is much more than being saved from and hell and going to heaven when we die.

It means deliverance in our mind, emotions, and our bodies.

Like Payne said, God in us...If God is in us than His very energy and life dwells within.

It has to change everything about us including our bodies...our health.

I have been asking Him to show me what that means to be "alive in Christ".

If God becomes our salvation than He becomes all the things within us that is contained in that definition.

Then, we are no longer looking for those "things" outside of us but looking for Him within us.

Does this make any sense?

"...that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height
-- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge;
that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory... forever and ever." Ephesians 3:14-21

Psalm 91

New International Version (NIV)
Psalm 91

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the Lord, ``He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.''

3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you say, ``The Lord is my refuge,''
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 ``Because he[b] loves me,'' says the Lord, ``I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.''

Good morning God thought brothers and sisters.

I thank God this morning that I am feeling well enough today to join those here to share our love for You and to praise You.

Philippians 1:2-11

New International Version (NIV)

2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanksgiving and Prayer

3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God.

--------------------
2 Corinthians 12:9-11

9 But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me.

I love everything in Philippians!! Thanks, Pocono!!

I have such astounding news that I'm still trying to let it soak in to my brain!

Our church .. thru a miracle of God .. was the recipient of a HUGE amount of money to pay off our mortgage in full.

We had to move nearly 4 yrs ago and build a new church. Well, things have happened and it's become increasingly difficult to meet our financial obligations.

(our church is about 23 yrs old and we've been there about 17)

We had just refinanced our loan about a month ago to reduce our payments. On Palm Sunday our treasurer announced right before church that we had asked our Pastor to take a $200 a month pay cut.

We NEVER announce such things in church.. always in a special meeting. So .. a VISITOR heard about our troubles and later contacted us to see about paying off the mortgage for us!!!!!!!! [Eek!]

How amazing is THAT!!!??? A foundation has paid it in full as of this past Wednesday. The banker was in shock! [lol]

We have a very small congregation and we are aging.. so this is a blessing that is simply a MIRACLE. No doubt about it.

Now we can focus on our mission more completely .. without the burden!

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Amen, Amen and Amen!! [Smile]

We've had so many struggles and so much doubt. Wondering if we had made a big mistake by moving (though it was sort of forced upon us.. we pretty much had to move).

Someone said to the church in a meeting about 3 months ago that she KNEW God had put us here and that we had to keep BELIEVING that. I told her later that I SO APPRECIATED what she said. I told her I agreed!! We had seen so many things happen while building the new church that we knew GOD had orchestrated.

Now we have NO DOUBT that our church will continue and with God's grace, we will thrive! IT WILL HAPPEN.

Today's inspiration:

Revelation 7:9-17

New International Version (NIV)
The Great Multitude in White Robes

9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:

``Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.''

11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:

``Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!''

13 Then one of the elders asked me, ``These in white robes--who are they, and where did they come from?''

14 I answered, ``Sir, you know.''

And he said, ``These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore,

``they are before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne
will shelter them with his presence.
16 `Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,'[a]
nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
`he will lead them to springs of living water.'[b]
`And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.'[c]''

I've enjoyed reading all the inspirational thoughts and scripture.

Awesome news about your church receiving a huge amount of money to pay off the mortgage, Lymetoo!! Wow, God is great!!

My son and daughter-in-law's wedding was wonderful. The ceremony was beautiful and so was the reception.

It was a very special highlight for me to dance with my son during the Mother-Son dance.

My son chose the song ..."You're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration"...by Chicago for us to dance to. That was the only time that I started to cry.

My daughter-in-law was a very beautiful bride and is an amazing young woman in so many ways. She is a very interesting person and I'm so thankful that she is a good Christian.

My son looked so handsome in his Army dress blues. He finally seems grown up to me....at age 27....lol. I'm very proud of him.

I pray that they have a long and happy God-centered marriage.

Hey, it will be a good marriage with God in the center! AND... my dad married my mom when he was 27!! Good mature age to get married!

They would have made it to 50 yrs, but my dad passed away 6 wks before their anniversary. He was really looking forward to that 50th!!

So happy that everything went well with the wedding! Tell your son congrats for me!!

Thanks Lymetoo! I finally got another 300+ pictures posted....lol. My camera is usually attached to me.

The happy couple are off on a wonderful honeymoon.

That's sad that your Dad passed away 6 wks before their 50th anniversary. They will have to celebrate that in heaven.
