Thanks TuTu for starting this week's thread. [kiss]

Sunday-Pulled weeds, potted one bunch of flowers, mani/pedi, colored hair and lightened eyebrows. Did laundry and ironed some clothes.

Monday-20 minutes on the stair climber, arm, leg and ab workout.

Starting the week with a BANG!!! [Cool]

ak-you scare me...i wish i would catch what you have

my main success today was making the list...it didnt fit on one page

i took the part to the camper guy, picked up veggies on the way back...caught up the dishes, ordered thieves oil and almond butter...

also did a few things to plants wheile etta ran in the yard---that required walking---my leg hurts pretty bad

i have a lot of sitting work to do now to try and finish up taxes...i may be up all night but therapy isnt til 2 or 3 tomorrow

just needed to sit for a minute...need to give leg a rest so i can chop up veggies for my chic soup...its gonna have sweet potatoes this time

if i could get the kitchen table clear of all the mail and junk i could sit d chop...i'll put that on the list too

hope you all have a good day.

i have mixed feelings about boston...was proud to see our city sent a flag with supportive message and signatures...sad about the cop that is in hosp-they are from a town close by where my mom grew up...

I had a so-so day. Feet are not very happy and the candida is being so stubborn lately. Just can't seem to beat it.

Able to read some of what you all are doing yesterday. Hoping to read more today when able.

Put in two loads of laundry. Resting now, then I will go down the hall in my power chair and put clothes in dryer.

Made grocery list for caregiver when she comes today.

Wrapped straw bag handle with duct tape. It's official....I am a duct tape card carrying member now.

It is the bag I hang off the arm of my power chair. The straw part of the handle was falling apart.

Rosie has been giving me the look. She wants to go out to the forest and have some off leash time.

She will have to wait until the caregiver comes and goes today....I have to be here when they come. [Frown]

I have the windows open all ready this am. 7:30 am.

Put my shorts on yesterday and they fell down almost to the point of fallling off. This is a good thing..although I really like those shorts...just can't wear them any more.

Wtg to see if I will still be getting medicaid. Able to send a couple of letters off yesterday...in a fog so not really sure if I am contacting the correct person.

All I know is refills will be coming up in a few and I don't want to have to stop cold turkey.

I had a change in income. If all goes well, I will have enough for food and gas now....sure hope all goes well.

Tutu...hope you get some relief from the feet soon.

What do you do to help with the candida?? Did you see that Dr. J was posting on FB about it??

I just couldn't read what he wrote.

Manna...hubby's day sounds good for his health. [Smile]

Kayak and ALW>..I'l be back to read what you have been up to...started to read it and then the brain went. [Frown]

back later with better news i hope and a cleaner kitchen.

why did that happen tho??? it was the 4-5th time i used the press. the water wasnt any hotter than before...i dont get it...

kam.. That is wonderful that your income has gone up! SUPER DOOPER!! [Smile] I hope you can still get Medicaid too. That would be awesome.

My diet is very limited, so that is supposed to work eventually. I am taking a presc. anti-fungal but getting worried about being on it for so long now. I'm also eating fermented veggies. That is supposed to help.

kayak.. brand new coffee maker?? Sheesh! I hope you can find the receipt! Praying that your hands will survive all the work you need to do.

I had the young girl come clean my apt today. She has to come back later... long story. She's been here 3 hrs.. more to do.

Let me see.....

20 easier minutes on the stair climber, ab, arm and leg workout.

Ran errands then off to work.

We have our quarterly blood drive today....no giving blood for me. [Frown]

Kayak-Unless you want to catch CRAZY be thankful that you don't have what I have. [lol] I wish I could get some more help but I can't afford it, or can't find willing fam or friends, etc. I notice I get pretty tired lately and that worries the heck out of me. Alot of times I just push myself because I don't have help.

MannaMe-Good to hear that your hubs is having his treatments and catching some rays. [Cool]

TuTu-Hang in there! My foot is kinda acting up too since I've been on the stair climber. Hope our footsies will be ok. [Roll Eyes]

Kam-Yeah for the pay raise!!! Got a kick out of reading about your use of duct tape. Ah, duct tape, a person's best friend. I remember back when I lived in AK how duct tape was considered a staple, like carrying an umbrella or sunglasses. Once my truck bed liner flew out while I was driving to work one day....and yep, got out the old trusty duct tape and fixed that puppy right up! [Big Grin]

Hope everyone has a fabulous day!!!

[hi]

Oh yeah, forgot to say something about duct tape!! [Big Grin] It's the state staple of Arkansas!!

Have you seen all the cool dresses and shoes, etc made from duct tape?? They have all different colors and patterns now!

oh man...not much better. even water therapy hurt my right leg and sometimes my hands. they did find some exercises that didnt hurt tho so i got a good work out but then had to stand too long when leaving...in line for scheduling...and ended up crying and all these ppl rushed to help...what a baby i am. embarrassing. i should have pushed the wc in so i had my own seat. there are so many chairs in there but not in the right spot.

when i got home i called the neighbor to come help clean up the coffee. i really cant do it. what a mess. i microwaved a sandwich for lunch...at 5pm and hung up my bating suit and towel and i just want to sit with ice on the leg and hands.

this is cuz i spent 5 hrs sunday getting my sil up to speed on 5 workers comp cases that are 8 yrs old...i just cant communicate with the lawyers...i have all these letters saying how disabled i am... and all this testing...i worked so hard for so long. if i could just get enough to help with cooking and cleaning...and bills i guess. and lawyers...

anyway...i had to stand too long at the grocery yesterday buying veggies too...so both the leg and hands are in trouble

walmart better refund my money-that thing is dangerous. what it it fell in my lap or on a dog or child.???

i'm rambling. so glad KAM got some good news!!!

i think the neighbor will be here in an hour. im just gonna sit packed in ice til then

hope everyones tootsies get better...

I'm so sorry you are in pain, kayak!! And so glad that you asked your neighbor to help you!

Sure hope you can get the paperwork done and get some extra cash. You deserve it.

Walmart is very good about refunding money. Yes, that thing is very dangerous! Must have been made in China.

Hubby is feeling a little better - he started treating for the MTHFR mutation and herxed.

Today he was out in the sun on the front porch - but the wind was from the south and it was too cool. So after lunch he went out on the patio and soaked up the sun out there.

The cranial therapist stopped by and checked if he was still 'in sync' - he was!!

Did another foot detox - it smells like chemicals - must be pulling yucky stuff out.

Good news is I finally was able to sweep up that spot under the lounge chair on the patio with all the pollen like stuff.

Bad news is I am not feeling so well. This is the first time the pollen and stuff has effected me.

Took 2 excedrin this am. Hoping to be able to get to the grocery store or do a little around the apartment.

If it were not for the dog and cat I would still be in bed this am.

The cat jumps on my chest like she thinks I need to be revived.....****es me off (for a lack of better words)

But, it does the trick. I get up and let her out.

The dog does this low bark....when I first got her she did a loud bark....I dont' recall what I said but she no longer uses her indoor voice now...so cool.

The low bark is hey, you are burning daylight...lets go to the forest.

Stopped to see if one of the local stores had goat's milk...hurray they did.

Forgot my peltor ear muffs...I need to get a pair to keep in the car.

But, I did have the hearo ear plugs...they dont' block out the sounds as well but it helps.

Then, out to the forest...one of those mornings I wished I had a cot to lay on...used the camp chair I have ..est 5 min but it was nice.

I wasn't doing well enough to do anything but slouch and close my eyes. Felt better though on the way back.

Windows are open all ready at 8:30 am. I like this time of the year. Quiet. Windows open.

Soon, the air conditioning units will be on and it will be too loud to have the windows open

Wondering if that tree with the cotton like stuff on it is a cottonwood. Not doing well enough to do a search right now to see.

One year the cotton like stuff from the tree wrapped itself around one of the air conditioning units.

It was one that was running almost around the clock. It looked like a white blanket of cotton wrapped around it.

OK fading fast...I want to get in the car and just drive...but health is not up to that.

Need to lay still and quiet.

Came here to read more of what you all are doing but wasn't able to get very far. I'll try again later.

Sun does sound good.

I read the letter I got form SS about the change in income and when it will be coming again.

Weird as the first few times I read it I thought the income would be coming on the 23rd. Not sure why.

As I just read it again and the income is coming on the 3rd...I also had two different letters thaey sent me.

I could only find one letter this am so a bit confused...all I knowi s nothing was deposited into my acct yesterday so looks liek I need to wait until the 3rd of next month.

Whew, I'm tired gang. Might have to resort to coffee to get through the afternoon.

Got my haircut yesterday and I love it. Short as usual, and alot easier to care for.

Did my 20 minutes on the stair climber. Pulled it out from against the wall so I could watch tv (HGTV) while exercising.

Arm, ab and leg workout too.

Kam-That was a lovely post about the cottonwood tree. I could just picture the stuff on the air conditioner. Hey, also wanted to mention one thing I do to battle pollen is to use a vacuum. My front and back porches are huge so instead of sweeping I use my trusty vacuum.

TuTu-Really? Dresses and shoes out of duct tape! That I'd like to see.

MannaMe-Guess duct tape is alot more versatile than I thought.

Kayak-Hope you get to feeling better soon. I used ice alot when my head would feel like it was going to explode. I had some serious head pain when I first got sick and ice was the only thing that helped. Hang in there.

Well, think I'm gonna head to the breakroom and see it there's any bagels left. [lick]

kam.. That's next Friday!! Woohooo!! (the 3rd)

Ask and ye shall receive, AKL!!

http://www.luckymag.com/blogs/luckyrightnow/2012/01/Duct-Tape-Dresses-The-Prom-Trend-Sweeping-North-America

My friend took me to get my haircut today and then we went out to eat. This is getting to be a regular habit. We've been friends forever, but for a long time she worked for her son and we couldn't go places during the day. I only saw her at church.

Now we've been able to get together. I'm having fun again and that will help me get well!! Sure helps our outlook, doesn't it!?

My feet were pretty good today, now getting a bit swollen. I didn't eat the best of food, but it sure was good! [Big Grin]

my neighbor came and cleaned up the mess last night-she was here almost 2 hrs but i only paid her for one. i was really happy she did it. i just sat and iced.

couldnt get to sleep til 4 a.m. tho. i had forgotten to take my thyroid meds yesterdeay morning

etta got her haircut. i took the taxes to the beach with me but didint do them. just sat and breathed beautiful air. and read.

i took quite a lot of time packing good food...and thenleft without the bag. so i ened up with a really good piece of fish and cole slaw. it was a treat

when i got home the part of the camper had arived but the box is just shredded. i dont know if the part is ok or not. i hope to find out at the rv shop tomorrow.

i have been living with my hair in hair ties...get it cut maybe once a year. doesnt matter cuz it always looks the same. yuky.

but this new long shag is kinda nice. i can wash and wear and it looks like i have a perm but i dont...must be a good cut.

i am thinkign since i find $45. for etta to get a haircut every 2 months maybe i should find $20 for myself. i'm shocked when i look in a mirror...

Hair cut sounds good as long as you come out looking better than when you went in. [Smile]

Sitting at the beach sounds wonderful too!

Took Rosie out to the rodeo grounds this am to let her stretch her legs.

Resting now, then hoping to do a bit around the apartment.

Yes. Much less stress now. [Smile]

Able to put in three loads of laundry. Off this am...got dryer and washer confused as far as putting in the quarters....

but it all worked out

it seems like I did something else but can't recall now.

Resting now...then I will get the linens from the dryer.

Went to second floor to drop off a note to a neighbor....long wait for the elevator to get back down...the elevator does break now and then so I try to stay off of it.

I had left Rosie in the apartment as I thought it would be a short trip.

So, I was trying to decide what my other options were....

leaving my power chair on the second floor with someone was an option but then when I thought about walking down the stairwell...that wasn't do able this am.

Thankfully, the elevator finally came. I was getting ready to knock on someone's door and have them call the office to let them know we were having elevator troubles. ...but health really wasn't up to talking with people either.

This morning hubby was out on the front porch in the sun and after lunch he went out on the patio to soak up the sun!

Also did his foot detox while outside. Funny thing happened - one of the chickens decided to taste his detox water! She shook her head after tasting it. Yuck!

Now its nap time! Wow! What a day!

Not enough sleep last night so I didn't have any get up and go to exercise today. [Frown]

Now trying to hang in at work for 3 1/2 more hours.

TuTu-That was duct tape?! Love to see young folks being so creative! That was fun! Thanks.

Kayak-My hair's so thin that if I don't cut it short it looks like spanish moss hanging off a tree. Believe you me, not an attractive look.

Kam-I have gone to get a haircut a couple of times and looked worse coming out. One time I got it cut so short you could see my scalp. Looked like I had a type of mohawk. I bought a hat to wear until it grew out. A mohawk on someone in their 50's isn't the look I was shooting for.

MannaMe-That poor chicken! Made me laugh though.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

[hi]

Hello People, I don't get back to Lymenet like I use to. While I was suffering, I was here daily.

As you get better, you go out and start enjoying life more, so don't check very often.

With that said, I was making my rounds today and this topic made me smile since there are so many of you that I remember being here while I was a regular and you are still plugging away.

I'm really just stopping by to say "Hello". Hit a new medical block for awhile, so had to slow down my exercising, but up until about a week ago, I was doing a LOT of walking. Good for the soul.

Hugs to all of you!!!!!

Cathy

i'm mixed up...its the 25th? almost the 26th?

so i did PT and had a new therapist and he was really nice...found a lot i could do without pain

but for the 2nd time i needed help getting back to my car

now my second knee is hurting...i think cuz i limp so much on the first

my brain is so exhausted from a small amoutn of paperwork for workers comp...

my hands are in wicked pain form the paperwork

and it seems my new car cant be fixed to pull the camper...so not sure what i will do .. and the house was moldy again. but i got orders from swanson and Plant Therapy real fast...so that was helpful

and...i dont know what may 3rd is but on may 6th i get to find out if my new grand baby (first in 21 yrs!!!) is a girl or boy...i wasnt allowed to tell anyone the news til now!

i'm pretty burnt out just trying to get thru the days...i want it to get easier

lpkayak, No, I wasn't aware that you had moved. Do you really have a lot of gas station robberies there? Yikes. What brought you south?

Able to do something last night...what was it?

Oh yes. Finally able to open the box for the vacuum bags and the vitacost order.

Thinking of ordering from iherb next time as getting to the food is a big problem for me with vitacost....first a plastic bag, then tape around the bubble wrap.

They are doing a better job of putting in dividers and it really isn't there fault that the shipping is so rough on boxes.

But, it takes me a long time after I get the order for my health to be doing well enough to unpack it.

AKl... yep, that was duct tape! [Smile]

I'm still trying to picture you with a mohawk!! [Big Grin]

Cathy... So good to see you here!!! I noticed you on the board and was hoping you'd show up here too!! Welcome back!!

kam.. you need a box cutter to cut thru all that bubble wrap and stuff. That is what I do. iHerb is much more expensive, so you may not want to do that. Just invest in a $1 box cutter!

Gotta run... I have a friend coming to help me make my sauerkraut today!

cathy...FLAT LAND brought me south. the mts are not good for arthritis-i have it everywhere-it started when i was 33...looked like osteo...on xrays but docs couldnt understand why when i was so young...the the lyme dx and it made sense

it keeps getting worse-i do water PT now...one replaced knee is having problems so mobility is an ongoing issue

i'm glad you're doing better

well-the town where the meetings are has problems...and the meetings get out so late ... and yes where i am we have a bank or conveniece store robbery almost every week it seems

im just getting going this morning---still way too much pain in hands from paperwork and i couldnt walk even 2 steps last night...had to push the furniture back again to use the wc

but it is a pretty day and i might go buy some baby trees! real cheap.

Kam and Lymetoo, thank you for the welcome back. I tend to bounce in and out of here from time to time, but also know I take very long breaks.

When I was so sick and bedridden, I was here on these boards ALL DAY LONG. Desperation makes us do crazy things. But then you reach a point that you know you need to forcus on other things.

But THEN when you start getting your life back, time zips by and you don't realize how long you have been gone. That's sort of where I am now.

LPKAYAK, It sounds like you have had a lot of changes in your life since we talked last. I was scheduled for water p.t. a couple of years ago, but then they sent me to regular p.t. since that was what insurance would pay for.

How are you doing with all the changes?

Oh, thank God it's Friday!!! [Smile]

22 minutes on the stair climber, arm, leg and ab workout.

Going straight from work to Denney's resturant and eating dinner with Josh and then to my Mom's.

I'm spending the night at her house and heading to Atlanta in the morning for our cultural group meeting.

Might try to look at a car if I have time while up there.

Tdtid-Long time no see! Yep, we're still plugging away. Glad to hear that you're doing better and picking up your life where you left off.

Kayak-I hate having pain too! My hands and feet are hurting lately I think from working out. Not to mention all the rest of me when I pulled weeds last Sunday. Hang in there.

Kam-Hope your head gets to feeling better. I hate the inflammation in the head. I think that was the worst thing to deal with out of everything. Glad you're using the ice. That was the only thing that helped the most. I took Diamox also but used to ice down my head alot.

TuTu-Have a fun day making that sauerkraut.

See you all later!

[hi]

I didn't say I responded well to PT. I said that insurance said that is what I wanted.

The first one put me in so much pain that I was just starting to move again by my next appointment and for some reason, I JUUUUSSSSTTTT wasn't thinking that is how it is suppose to be.

Years later when they said PT, I said, "no way", but since I'd been bedridden 9 months and lost most all muscle in my legs, I had mentioned water. I said I would love to try it, but then was told at my expense and if you are like most lyme patients, we are doing all we can to pay our medication.

I did have a friend tell me that there is a holistic PT office and that insurance will cover that. It worked MUCH better but was NOT your traditional P.T. by any means.

It was much more relaxing and done in a way that the Physical therapist did most of the work in pushing on various joints and muscles.

Not really a massage but a concept very similar that works your muscles without strenuous exercise.

And by then, I was up and moving better, so never looked back at no water p.t. I don't know why insurance would fight that and not the other. But I never pretended to understand insurance.

aklnwlf, Ahhhh yes, I see you were here too. It sincerely did make me smile when I logged back over here after who knows how long this time and saw you all going strong.

Mammame - I think you are the only one here that I don't recall from my days on here. I'm sorry that you had to be one to also deal with this horrid disease, but glad you are here with such a fine group.

tdtid, my husband is the one with Lyme & co's. I am so thankful to have a place to 'meet' people who truly understand the Lyme world.

The ones here don't think we are crazy and need mental help!

Hubby was out in the sun on the patio this morning - now in bed for his nap.

I need to hang up a load of laundry, then go for groceries.

Kam, hope you feel better soon. Do you have gel packs you can freeze to put on your head? We got some from our chiropractor. They can be frozen or heated.

I think it's easier to get water PT approved if you're really fat and have arthritis at one point to a class fo rfibro and it really helped me after two weeks of the class I started swimming lap with a board but I'm worse now and what they are doing is helping.

I stayed 4-6 4-6 weeks I kept gett and I totall and I totally crashed after a after a steroid shot

Kayak.. my local PT place always goes to water therapy first.. or so it seems. I just couldn't do it. My feet got worse and worse. Seems strange, but so much of it was walking up and down the "pool" .. and lifting one leg at a time, etc.
