My guess is that the cause of this "shortage" - and near thousand percent price increase - is, indeed, nefarious. One of my favorite words that sounds exactly like what it means:

(of an action or activity) Wicked or criminal.

Yes. There's only one manufacturer now in the world. And all the other tetra's are ridiculously expensive too.

3 months ago, I bought 30 days of IV doxy for 900. Now, it's 3,000.

Catgirl. That's the cash price? Do you have insurance coverage?

For the reason it's happening, they are funneling all people that need it to one company and that company can name it's price.

Drug companies can do whatever they want to in the U.S. The reason given on the FDA shortage list is "increased demand" which sounds bogus to me.
