This time it is a credit card. No unauthorized charges yet, place I last used it says it isn't there. Looked everywhere around the house, not in wallet where it should be.

So, I spend 15 minutes on the phone to mastercard where their automatic lines don't work, won't recognize input, get wrong info from customer people, get transferred 4 times, call several different numbers. Ack. My other card company is so much easier to deal with.

So, now my account was closed (they won't put a temporary block on it) and I will be sent a new card. And then the old one will turn up probably.

Really tired of being brainless. But then so is the credit card company and they don't have lyme presumably.

Yeah, I've done that before. I actually get on my own nerves! [confused]

So, 15 minutes after the card is permanently blocked, I find the card in my bed!@!!!#$@@&*

Fell out of a pocket I guess.

Yes, I am getting on my own nerves too, what is left of them.

Oh no! Well at least someone didn't steal the card and your identity.

Um, I think you might be writing for all of us! I go through this a bit - I mean, not with your cards, but with mine,

and then I really don't feel like discussing the issue with the bank afterwards, about later finding the card in my stack of cards but I just overlooked it, or it's in the drawer after all but in a different place, etc.

It would be nice to be able to attach a small electronic marker to the things we need that could beep for us when we need to find them,

akin to finding one's car in a crowded parking lot, or hearing where your cell phone rings when it too goes missing...

So that is my new business/marketing proposal, if anyone feels like developing a product for a growing market...

Or would we also lose the beeper trigger device? It will need to come with back-up beeper finders, like one in every room.

I like the beeper idea. I posted here once regarding the St. Anthony prayer on finding lost items. If you've exhausted all other avenues, maybe divine intervention is required. [Wink]

This happened to me just recently. Although this time I did not find the card. I don't feel its lyme related, just distracted at times.

Oh God, if I had a dollar for every time I lost my car in a parking lot...well I guess I'd have about 30 bucks [Smile]

That was the most maddening thing to me as a person with no sense of direction whatsoever. And this was way, way, way before Lyme was in my vocabulary.

I can't tell you how many times I rode around with mall security looking for my car because I had NO IDEA where I parked. Even St. Anthony couldn't help. I needed the big shots... the mall security people [Big Grin]

And this didn't happen just one time.

But I'm proud and loud and I'm not embarrassed to admit that I am severely directionally-impaired. [Big Grin]

yeah...something like this happens at least every day. once i found my credit card behind the car ashtray...when it was knocked out by accident...last card was between car seats and i needed a friend to get it out my fingers wouldnt work...

i scream about pushing the buttons on the phone calls...my first question when someone answers is ...are you human...i hate it!!!

usually even wallets and credit cards i try to get calm and know i will find it eventually

The worst feeling is holding something and looking for it at the same time. Eventually I figure it out.

Oh, boy, do I know these scenarios!! My mantra is: "Where are my glasses??" Sometimes they are in my hand or on top of my head.

At this point I wouldn't mind losing my body--no, of course I don't totally mean that. I just wish that it would be out of my awareness for a while, so it wasn't so distressing.

That' part of why I'm such a LN addict---it distracts me from the pain and symptoms! Sigh. I'm ready for a new model, but it ain't comin'.

I really like the electronic marker too!

I don't know how many weeks I went not being able to find the reading glasses that work the best for me...

..I can't read but I do need them for the phone for text messages when able.

...Dumped purse out, looked thru purse several times..did the just feeling for bumps in the purse...

Then viola...they were right where they usually are in my purse.

I have been without the remote for the TV in my bedroom which is the one I watch while laying in bed as the bed suports my body better than the couch during the day.

The TV also helps me to get to sleep.

I don't know if the remote is ever going to show up...I recall cleaning off the tray I keep in bed with me and putting things in the trash....did my lyme brain put the remote in the trash too??

Thankfully, the cable person is coming today. I was doing well enough to get to the cable place and pick up antoher remote.

But, brain was not working well enough to do the 3 steps needed to get the remote to work with my TV although I tried all week ...time was maybe put in 8 hours as I can't last long brain wise when trying to do something.

Debit card...yes...frequently misplace it and brain can't recal lwhere I put it last.

Sometimes the brain is just trying to do its best and I am not able to put it back in my wallet so I slip it into the ash tray in my car, or a pocket or several other splaces.

It is very frustrating.

Oh and glasses. I kept misplacing my reading glasses so got another at the grocery store...can't recall which magnification to get either.

Brain usually isn't working well enough while at the grocery store to even pick out a pair...but at times I am able while sitting in my power chair.

But, they continue to get misplaced. Every now and then I find a pair and started hanging them off a rack in the kitchen.

When I am able to do this...I don't recall even purchasing the glasses I see hanging on the rack..mabye 4 of them...

Before lyme and company, I was organized...now I am just dealing with what is in front of me and most times not doing that well.

AFter living here since 2005, I was finally able to get a set of spare keys made and find a lanyard at a local thrift shop to hang them on.

I have another lanyard that I use to put around my neck so I knwo where my keys are when I need them.

A friend came to visit and she lost the spare lanyard and keys....

I wonder how long it will take for me to get spare keys made again and find another lanyard.

I'll need to go to the key person to get one key made as the local ACE, etc places that make keys don't have the mold for the one key...the key I use for the lift on my car for the power chair.

I've been looking for my "outdoor shoes" (took laces out so I can step right into them and out of them so I don't bring dirt in the house).

I remembered where I left them. Not there. Searched all over and checked their usual spot several times.

Yesterday, I opened door and there they were where I remembered having left them.

This is either me or a gremlin!

I try to keep things in the same place. 99% of the time, my keys are in my purse.. in a special pocket. If I buy a new purse and there's no place for my keys, I'm not buying it!

Credit cards are in my wallet. Period.

i forgot where my car was once in the parking lot!!! i finally found it and the the car alarm was going off.

this cop stopped by and looked at me and said "umm do you need help?"

i said "yes, i'm trying to steal my car and the alarm goes off every time i use my keys."

he started laughing and drove off. thank heavens he had a sense of humour.

and yes, once i locked my keys in the trunk and had to call husband. he was a half hour away. gggrrrr
