Well, Friday around 8 pm we lost power. The transformer a couple homes from us got a lightening strike and we spend Fri night sweating and trying to keep enough ice in the fridge so we didn't lose stuff.

Yesterday morning power was still off and every time the power co tried to pull the switch to the transformer - it would go "boom!" and there would be a puff of smoke!

We went to a Motel 6 yesterday afternoon and came home this morning with power! Took about an and a half for the house to cool down. Saved most everything in the fridge.

Silver and I didn't get much sleep Fri/Sat because it was 90 in the house with no fans. At the motel I was having leg twitches and stealing the covers.

Also our little guy was in the bed with us and whenever Silver would ask him to move she said he would just go limp!

Got home and ate and Silver took a much needed nap. At least we didn't have this.

Hi <<<<< Lymenet Family >>>>>,

We've gone thru tropical storms, freak hurricanes, and tornado weather, where we ran from storms and tornadoes.

This storm rated up there with the worst of the storms we've gone thru. Our little dog,was so freaked, even at the motel last night, that I finally let him come up on the bed.

Usually, Muad'i wants to sleep in his carrier and blanket...not last night. But we had to find a motel, because TxC' couldn't go w/o the C-pap machine any longer. One overly hot night w/o it was to much.

The little Motel we stayed at,[a chain motel],stayed reasonably comfortable, and we didn't lose power. I think it was the noisiest A/C unit I've ever heard tho'.

Cross a Nascar race,w/ a jet engines roar, and every time it cycled down there was an eerie whistling sound. So doggy was waking from that as well as thunder and lightening. and heavy rains.

We knew that there were monsoon type rain and flooding storms here. But, evidently this electrical storm was way harsher than anything they're used to here.

Power crews, police, firemen, EMT's, and ambulance crews were kept extra busy,as were communications, and gas company crews.

It is still very overcast, and around 85* right now,but that is cooler than it's been in awhile.
I am glad to be home, and hope we don't have to run again, it looks like more storming may occur.

So far our few Palm trees are still standing, altho' they look rather bedraggled at the moment. And my poor ears feel bedraggled too.So much noise, and changes in pressure from the storms...

Jus' me, watching the sky thru the curtains, and wondering if the storms are going to get bad again.

It's stayed overcast, and the wind is picking up a bit...we'll see what happens. If it worsens, and power goes,we'll have to find a shelter this time.

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>,

Well the weather is still weird so we are keeping up w/ the news. They run alerts on TV if anything is headed our way.

I can remember a scary blizzard where the power went out when we were living in Blackfoot Idaho. We couldn't even get water, as it was pumped electronically [I guess is how to say it].

A couple times in snowy weather we didn't have any heat, the gas furnaces had an electric starter.

But TxCoord wasn't on a C-PAP machine then. it was scary for us the first night of this no power mess, w/o the machine keeping air going for him.

TxC' kept waking up,and just couldn't sleep, he has sleep apnea, and his machine makes a huge difference ,He actually can sleep!!!

Without the machine, his brain would partially wake him every two minutes aprox. in the course of an hour so he would start breathing again. He'd awaken exhausted. But now he gets some good rest most nights.

There's a storm north of us,hoping it will lose strength and stop. This morning there was still some folk w/o power. I'm sure the energy folk are worn to a frazzle. Hope this all calms down soon.

Jus' Silverwolfi watching the sky.

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo, payne, and Dogsandcats >>>>>,

We are still under flash flood warnings, this mess hit parts of Arizona and it's a flooded mess.

Fox News had a storm warning banner for from the California coast, Nevada, parts of Arizona and up to the Utah border. It's a mess.

We are keeping an eye on the weather, and praying too. We have to go to an appointment, then pick up some meds etc. The worst issue right now, is flash floods. Safety warnings are up to explain what to do if one has any serious issues.

I sure hope all our Lyme family is safe, between, heat waves, and electrical storms it's really something.

Will try to report in,after appt. and meds errand ... hopefully we wont lose power again here.

Right now, a beautiful rainbow, would be most welcome, it is always a comfort to have the blessing of seeing a rainbow!!!

Thanks for the replies, Lyme Family, stay safe, your all in our tho'ts!!!

Silverwolf, my grandmother was born near Sterling, Idaho and grew up in and around Blackfoot. She grew up in a little rock house and her Dad grew potatoes. My great-grandmother told of a story in which a bad storm came up and ball lightning came into the house and chased her around the kitchen. She was able to get away by ducking into a closet.
The storms in Idaho where spectacular and she didn't miss them when they moved to Oregon in 1918.
Keep away from the ball lightning.

Hi <<<<< Dogsandcats, and OtterJ >>>>>,

Well we made it thru TxC's med.appt.w/o problems, but we had to wait an hour on the meds for him.

Meanwhile the sun is out, tho' we are still on storm watch/flash flood warnings. it is beautiful but muggy humid after the rains.

Went to get my meds later and they got the wrong type for my Diabetes. We just got out of the parking lot and I realized it wasn't correct, TxC' went right back. Extended release can make a huge difference on meds!!! The pharmacist apologized profusely!!!

Dogsandcats, dreamin' of those cooler breezes ,but not to cold ,we are here because it is warmer, than Idaho when winter comes!

OtterJ, Blackfoot can get wild weather for sure. So can St.Anthony,ID, we lived up there for a time, while TxC' was doing security work at the JCC [troubled youth].

We lived in a corner house, during a bad electrical storm. Lightening came in thru a screened window in the living room, and hopped back to our bathroom where it burned out a light fixture.

Next door to us they lost,TV, dishwasher and
coffee pot, next to them, the neighbors lost all appliances, and lights except for one light fixture.

Then the folk behind us,lost computer TV and so
on. Storms can do some weird things and that ball lightening is plain scary freaky.

Now we live in the Southwest US [Nevada], they do get storms sometimes, but winter isn't usually too harsh!!! It can get down to about 20* degrees here, but that is much warmer than -7* degrees like may occur in Pocatello in a bad winter!!!

And winter isn't usually more than about six or
eight weeks here. The trade of is the Monsoon season, that we have here. Tho' they claim the electrical storms aren't usually quite this violent.

Otter', I was born in Oregon!!! We had the Columbus day storm there, when I was just a little child. I never forgot it High winds, lightening and so on.

Jus' Silverwolfi checkin' in!

Jus' checkin' in,

Hi <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,

We have afternoon flash flood warnings right now and TxC' is off to another med appt.,and to hopefully find out what is up,about his Ortho appt. for the ankle.

It still hasn't been scheduled, or they haven't called us as yet if they did the scheduling today. We are not sure what to think about all
this. I'll know something after his appt. or so we hope.

Weather is partly cloudy, partly sunny and I am watching for the winds to pick up. Hopefully they won't, altho' a gentle light breeze would be helpful.

Yesterday,on the way to appts. we saw some of the damage to trees and so on. we are hoping, that this all will calm down, and the rest of the summer will be nicer.

Hope weather is staying calm where y'all are,and that all are safe.

Jus' Silverwolfi

I am keeping you all in my prayers for better weather and getting the info you need from doctors.

At least our evenings cool down and we have a nice breeze. The handyman came today and now we can open our door (it sticks in the different seasons) in the bedroom and let the screen keep out bugs and let in the breeze!

Take care of yourselves!!

Hi there <<<<< Dogsandcats >>>>>,

Hopefully TxC' will be back fairly soon, and I'll find out if he was able to talk w/ Patient Advocate, after the other appt.

He stopped at the store to get a few things, clouds are coming in,so I am hoping he'll get home before any bad weather comes.

It is interesting doing laundry, and keeping an eye on the weather...second load almost washed now.

Dogsandcats, and other prayer warriors, we appreciate the prayers continuing so very much!!! Between the weather, and medical stuff,it's been crazy.

But we are still hanging in here, and not giving up!!! I am hoping we can get to Wed. eve. service tomorrow. We haven't been able to get there for awhile and I miss it, the services are so uplifting!!

Will continue updating as we learn more, provided the electric stays on!!!

Jus' Silverwolfi...and TxC too.

Hi <<<<< payne >>>>>,

Thank you for posting that beautiful pic' of the rainbow!!! Both TxCoord and I love rainbows, because they are a reminder of God's love and promises!

He is Love, and will never leave nor forsake us no matter how crazy the weather gets, or how odd the medical situations may get... we are safe in His Love!!!

Friday night, after we lost power,we watched the storm from our porch, even tho' the loss of power made things difficult,we couldn't help but see the handiwork of God our Creator in the storms!

The lightening storm was truly awesome,we used caution, but I am so glad for the promise of the Lords protection to His children.

I am hoping still to see a rainbow here, but I appreciate that picture!!! Our awesome God made such a beautiful creation for us to enjoy !!!

His Banner over us is Love, and He sends the arc of the rainbow to remind us of His care and love.

Then there is the scripture, '...as the lightening from the east to the west so shall the coming of the Son of Man be...' .

Gotta find the reference for the that, but Wow... clouds and lightening remind us...He is coming back!!! And the rainbow is a reminder of His care!!! [Smile]

Jus' Silverwolfi here.
