DH got a job offer at home. It's a low-ball offer that is firm. It's a pay cut of a little more than a third. He's been looking for a job at home for more than 3 years.
It would be tight, but we could do it...if I didn't have Lyme. It's those expenses that put us in the red.
So, we can't go home.
I never wanted to move to this damn place to begin with. Now it looks like we will never be able to leave, because of the effing Lyme that I never would have got if we hadn't moved here!

Sorry. I do appreciate the positive thinking, but I don't have any hope left. Only one (lowball) offer in 3 years; not much to be hopeful about. Plus, DH said he was going to stop looking now and let a job come to him. The job search is too stressful.
So I guess I'm just going rot here.

I am assuming the job market in Michigan isn't doing well.
Home for me is New York but I chose not to go back to tick country.
You could help out by searching online for jobs. That is how we found one for my husband in Colorado when we moved.

I search online all the time for jobs. I'm on Indeed.com daily.
The job market isn't what it used to be, but its better than it was 5 years ago when we had to move when DH's company left the state for VA.
There aren't a lot of jobs doing what DH does.
Plus, it seems like everyone wants the Harvard MBA for the jobs he could do!
It's been very frustrating.
I have no love for this place. I wouldn't have Lyme now if we hadn't moved here. No love for DH's company , either.

- What about moving anyway - and either working with a LLMD there -- or getting a rife machine and working with a LL ND there?
If your current LLMD there in VA is the only reason you are staying, I hope you can find a way to go ahead and move to where you want to live.
Perhaps some phone appointments, some Skype, some visits back, etc. ?
Ohhh, I see. He makes more a job he currently has there in VA? That must be it, eh?
Ohhh. Life's what happens when we look the other way, sometimes. -

I understand. I would love to move back home, and felt stuck here on the east coast for a while now. Unfortunately, I picked up the worst co infections here, so I kept saying the if only phrase over and over again (if only we hadn't moved here I wouldn't have gotten bit so many times, nor would I be so sick). It got me no where though.
We kept hoping a job would open up back home, but no such luck. There just aren't very many jobs in my husband's field. So I put it out to the universe for my husband to get a new job that he would enjoy, more money, and more importantly, it would also be in the best place for the both of us at this point in time, with all things considered, including our lyme treatment.
Before we knew it, he was offered a great job right here (didn't move). We were thrilled he got a new job, but at the time we were sad we didn't get to move back like we planned. That lasted about 2 days. Then we felt that it was better for us to be right here, right now at this point in time. We re-framed our thinking to looking at this as a positive for us.
We now feel grateful for the arsenal of alternative support for battling lyme that we have here. It took quite a while to find all of these practitioners, and know it would take some time to find similar people back home or anywhere else. I am also sure the stress would have been quite hard on my body to move. Moving is so stressful.
