There are many past threads on this topic. I just don't see anything to add as it seems there is no choice and too daunting to "go there"
Others may not reply because it seems more of a statement than a question - or it seems futile. Not sure what kind of detail you are seeking from replies.
There is a choice, you can refuse this change but it will cost you. And it won't protect you from your neighbors' meters.
Search for your neighborhood or town to see if there has been any organized attempt to prevent this and then you could join that.
It's very sad that "SmartMeters" have been adopted. So very sad. Still, we all just do the best we can. -
