I've been having more & more herx like symptoms since the it's been 100+ degrees. I noticed before dx, that the heat made me feel worse.

What does everyone else do to stay cool & keep the bacteria from going haywire???

AVOID HOT BATHS. Here's why.

Toasty, cozy WARM is the way to go for most. Here's why.

Heat can kill spirochetes, maybe you are having die-off.

Or if you have orthostatic hypotension, heat can make that worse.

Homeopathic Glonoinum can help with heat intolerance. My Mom (who is unable to perspire) uses it so she doesn't get heat stroke, and says it really, really helps.

Spirochetes HATE heat and will get very aggitated and zoom all over to find a cooler place. Heat can also cause some to go into cyst form.

But, as Rivendell says, die-off can be involved too. And those that are burrowing deeper or going into cyst form to protect themselves from heat are not doing so happily. They can spew lots of toxins as they try to escape.

Remember that the body cannot tolerate temperatures hot enough, for long enough, to kill spirochetes in the way we might hope. So don't push the heat as it can be counterproductive when it's the point where you feel worse from it.

WARMTH is good for so many reasons. Just get to know your "melting" point and try to avoid getting that hot.

I have to be careful eve3n while showering. I've started herxing in the shower so I change the temp. And crazy as this sounds aboout the heat. Maybe the heat can become part of treatment. Just like what Abx does.

People have looked at me like Im a weakling, when I tell them "No Way" am I going outside it's too hot. But I do know that heat kills Spiro's...

Please be very careful with the "heat kills spirochetes" thing as heat can kill US long before spirochetes would even notice much.

It's really more about the increased circulation that warmth brings that help clobber spirochetes with our increased oxygen circulation. Warmth can do that. Heat is not required. Gentle activity can do that. Aerobics are not required.

Even ONE degree higher can be far too much for some with lyme. Anything over 80 degrees and it's too much for me.

And it's not just about spirochetes. The various nervous systems can't handle it. The adrenal system can't. The heart can't. POTS, etc.

Most of us know when we are feeling ill from being too warm. Try to stay under that trigger point.
