- A full dropperful (about 30 drops) of Cryptolepis should be fine. A typical dose is much higher, several teaspoons at one time, actually, 3 x day.
Although, it is best to work up gradually, a sudden mistake like this should not be too disruptive.
I did very well with this and had no problems at all, able to work up to full dose fairly quickly (and I am very sensitive, usually). I had zero "herx" reaction to this. Zero. Felt much better than with anything else.
However, I don't know what all you take Rx & supplements combined and that you are not feeling well, now, I suggest drinking a full glass of water and going to bed. It is nearly midnight for you, afterall.
My guess is that you will fell better tomorrow - though you may need tomorrow as an adjustment day of sorts. A good night's sleep is the best thing right now, after a good glass of water.
Take care. -

I am ok. Thank you. That was one of the weirdest, quickest herxes I've ever had. Legs stopped working, facial muscles stopped working as well as tongue, and then several hours later it was gone.
I was terrified because I thought I'd just taken an equivalent medicine to Byron White or something (I can only tolerate 1/12th a drop of A-Bart without a severe herx!!)
So no, I didn't die. I'm just up in pain now, it will be ok. Drinking lots of water.
Thanks again.

Hi Daynise,
I am glad that herx is better.
I take crypto also. 4 dropperfuls, twice daily.
I completely understand why you were worried. The Byron White A-V, one drop of it, is almost too much for my body. A dropperful, I think I would be in a coma.
Thank goodness it was the crypto!
Alka Seltzer Gold or Eno is a great quck fix for a bad herx. Good thing to keep in the medicine cabinet just in case
Best wishes

- For tinctures, be sure to talk in a half glass of water, swirl a bit to help the alcohol lift off.
If from a ROOT, hot water can be used. If the tincture is made with any aerial parts (above ground, such as leaves, stems) do not use HOT water as it will destroy the plant's effects. Warm water is fine.
A shallow mug for more "swirling" area can be of use.
often, it's the effects of the alcohol that can clobber some of us.
Best to limit alcohol tinctures for regular use to only those plants or formulas that only come that way - or only "work" that way. Otherwise, ground plant EXTRACTS or CRUDE raw herb are best to limit our alcohol hits.
Cryptolepis sanguinolenta comes as an alcohol tincture. Same with certain brand name formula tinctures and some homeopathic formulas (some homeopathics are in pellet form, though).
But, for other things, where possible, it's best to use other forms to keep the total amount of alcohol from tinctures at a minimum. -
