I would like to start walking on a regular basis and thought it might be beneficial to get a pedometer.
Has anyone used one and could you guys recommend a good brand that's not too expensive.
I searched the internet and there are so many to choose from, I don't even know where to start.
Thanks.

I purchased one awhile back. I will see if I can find it.
And let you know what brand it was. it was not expensive.
There were several on this site that used them at one time with the exercise thread we have going.
But, their heath has improved and they just drop in once and a while to let us know how they are doing.
I recently went camping. I was doing OK until my power cahir broke down and I needed to walk to the bathroom and back.
It might help me to start wearing the pedometer again ....wondering what my limit is for being on my feet before I get that terrible inflamation in the brain or if it is even connected.

Stiff and sore this am and having trouble getting out of bed. Wondering if I moniter my steps around the apartment if it also would be a clue as to how far to push the body before I can't move.
This lyme business is a tricky business.

Hoping someone else will come along with better answers for you on which one to get.
I recall I did a search on the web for the best pedometers before purchasing mine.

Thank you, kam. I will do another search and see what I can come up with.
I just thought if I had a goal of so many steps per day, it might help motivate me to go a little further.
I hope you can find yours and are able to use it to help you gauge how many steps to take.
You are so right; lyme is very tricky.
Take care!

- My suggestion: do not count steps. Toss out all rulers, measures, comparisons and expectations. The landfills won't have to deal with the used plastic parts later, either.
Enjoy your walks, strolls, saunterings. It's not a competition, even with yourself. Do it for enjoyment. If you are going to measure anything, take account of how many smiles are exchanged, how many wild creatures encountered, the various kinds of flowers, and configurations of clouds. -

I got one free many years ago and it was a piece of crap. I guess you get what you pay for!
I always wanted one when I was teaching!

Would have liked to have had one back when I was a flight attendant.

I have the Fitbit. Mine goes in my pocket and also has a band it slips into that records my sleep.
My friend got the same brand but it is a bracelet. She can shower, sleep etc with it. Gives record of how many steps, miles, calories burned and how you slept.
Don't remember the price, but it is handy. I wish I had the bracelet one cause I am afraid I will toss mine into the wash!
