Beautiful reminder, payne, through scripture.

Pocono, Wow, what a wonderful letter from God!

I remember that daisy always said the Bible was God's love letter to us.

Loved reading through that! It is so comforting to be reminded of all God's wonderful promises, and it's seems even better when we really read it like He is talking to us....and He is!

Love all of those!! Thanks so much!!

Pocono .. esp liked the message from God.. the whole Bible is a letter to us! [Smile]

Love your signature also!

Please pray for my cousin's family. My cousin's 44 yr old daughter died from complications from surgery on Saturday. The funeral is tomorrow. Another one that I will miss. I HATE missing funerals of those I love.

Her name was Melissa Burnette Metcalf. The family is heartbroken, but we know Melissa was a believer, so we rest in that knowledge.

What does it mean to receive God's grace in vain? Could it mean that He offers some much but we allow so little of it to operate fully in our lives?

As Pocono reminded in the letter posted. God loves us with an everlasting love. His love never, never fails us. Even when we take his grace in vain. How great is the Father's love He has lavished on us!!

For all those who are grieving tonight, may the God of all comfort wrap His arms around them and give them peace.

nice hiker,
The Things The Lord has in store for us -
that we cannot possible see and understand it all...
only through God's Instructions.
prayers for lymetoo in family and resting in that knowledge...
that By His Grace, she has recieved.
God's Grace by Vain..?
when you were lost and no one cared,
no one came to thee,
No one offered you salvation...
Alone, you knew God's Grace
would wash your sins away..
and save a wrench like me
and with nothing to offer Him in return.
Are you in vain of such Grace.?
casting a stone, or washing feet..unworthy ?
choices God's Love has given unto thee,
to be saved by Christ,
No greater Love is there,
then The Blood of Jesus..
even at the Cross He Called
The Lord to FORGIVE..
for they knew no better..

Love and prayers God thought family. So sorry Lymetoo. You will be at your cousin's service in heart and soul. An angel will fill in for you.

Soccermama, Yes... thought provoking. Is it that we take God's grace for granted? Is it that we think we deserve it? Do we not understand fully how rich we are in God's grace?

Hiker -- Nice. So much God will do for us and give us. I don't ever want to take Him for granted. That ties in perfectly with Payne's post above "in everything give thanks".

For those who remember me relaying the story of my husband's wallet. The letter above was found by my husband in one of the trucks. He brought it home as he knew I'd love it. I did and do! I will always! I copied it to share and he will return it.

He said that guys will often leave things such as that for others to find.

Brothers and sisters,
I received an email first thing today and am asking our God thought family to join in prayer for this Pastor.

This is some of the email. If you search this Pastor's name, you will find the story of his sufferings due to his unwillingness to denounce his faith in Jesus Christ.

Dekrator, I listened to My Help Comes From The Lord after reading the email regarding Pastor Saeed and all I can say is wow!

All of our posts are working together in Christ. [bow]

Thursday, September 26th, is the one-year mark of Pastor Saeed's illegal imprisonment in Iran for his Christian faith. One year apart from his wife and kids. One year of torment in chains for Christ.

On Thursday, thousands of people in dozens of cities literally across the globe will gather to pray for Pastor Saeed.

Will you join them?

Thousands of people – one day – one prayer: that Pastor Saeed would be released to return to his family.
Vigils are planned in cities in almost every state in America and in more than a dozen other nations worldwide. Learn more and attend the location nearest you.

I want to do a separate reply to thank all of you.

You bring such comfort to me in times of suffering. I was too ill last week post surgery to do nothing more than answer a couple of PMs and emails to help others asking my help.

I needed help and our Father provided for me as he does for you. I gained comfort and strength through your works for Him.

Jesus says we are to lift up and encourage each other and you do that for me.

Love to all of you.
In Christ.

A new pastor moved into town and went out one Saturday to visit his parishioners. All went well until he came to one house.

It was obvious that someone was home, but no one came to the door even after he had knocked several times. Finally, he took out his card and wrote on the back: Revelation 3:20 and stuck it in the door.

The next day, as he was counting the offering he found his card in the collection plate. Below his message was the notation Genesis 3:10.

Revelation 3:20 reads: “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.”

Genesis 3:10 reads: “And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked.”

Pastor Saeed's wife was able to get a letter to someone who promised to hand it to Iran's new president. She was at the same hotel in New York
yesterday.
This is what she wrote in a blog on DesiringGod.org
Beautiful faith.

Thursday marks one year since Iran imprisoned my husband, Pastor Saeed Abedini, for his Christian faith.

When the Iranian Revolutionary Guard arrested Saeed without warning and took him to the notorious Evin Prison, I could not have imagined the journey God had planned for us — a journey still without a finish line in sight.

The Empty Seat in Our Home

All I can remember about those first days are tear-soaked eyes and indescribable anxiety and grief.

Evenings consisted of me holding my seven-year-old daughter and five-year-old son as they cried themselves to sleep asking for their daddy. Saeed’s seat in our family was painfully empty at Christmas, Easter, our wedding anniversary, and each of the birthdays.

Saeed spent his own birthday in solitary confinement, bleeding and in agony due to beatings he had endured when prison guards tried to force him to deny his faith and return to Islam.

A Good, Unwanted Trial

I had fallen into deep despair, fearing the unknown. No friend, parent, or doctor could help me. In desperation, I questioned Jesus and plead that he take this trial from me.

He gently whispered, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). He promised to use this journey for his glory if I would trust him.

So little by little, I opened my hands and let go of all of my expectations and submitted my future to God.

As I lay broken before his feet, letting go of all control, the peace of God that surpasses all understanding filled my heart and mind through Christ Jesus, just has he had promised (Philippians 4:7).

Gladness in Weakness

I did not know then, nor do I know now, where God would lead us in all of this. But one thing has become clear:

no matter how difficult the journey, no matter what news comes, even in the face of eight years of beating and torture, we are called by God to embrace suffering gladly.

This suffering reveals my weakest parts. But in my weakness, he is strong. I am refreshed by living water when I run into Jesus’s embrace.

It is in walking with Jesus through the darkness that I taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8).

Rejoicing in Suffering

Over the last year, I have learned that there is meaning in Paul’s instruction to take pleasure in God, even and especially in suffering.

Rejoicing in suffering creates in me a deeper hunger for God, a hunger that draws me closer to him.

I understand now how Paul could say, “Most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. . . .

I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

The Desire of Our Hearts

In Jesus, I had clarity to see that God was using my present suffering for the spread of the gospel. I have seen the Lord use Saeed’s imprisonment to give Saeed

and myself the true desire of our hearts, which is to see Jesus preached to the entire world, especially to Muslims, a people Saeed and I love so very much.

Our suffering has provided a platform to share about Christ all over the world, even through secular media broadcasted to millions in Iran. At the United Nations Human Rights Council, appealing for Saeed’s release, I shared the gospel with representatives from over 100 countries.

A Minister for the Prisoners

This journey has also allowed Saeed to spread the gospel inside the prison. Members of the Iranian Diaspora have told me how they have heard from former Evin prisoners that Saeed had been showing the love of Christ to his fellow prisoners.

Now I can say with confidence that “I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18). Saeed and I always asked God for opportunities to share the gospel with the nations. We never anticipated it would be this way, but God has graciously heard and answered our prayers.

Though I do not yet see a finish line to our journey, I will continue to rejoice in the Lord as he uses our suffering for good. I will continue to pray for Saeed’s release and the freedom of all Christians being persecuted and imprisoned for their faith.

THE EIGHT BEATITUDES OF JESUS

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

I'm feeling a bit drained, numb. I just lost my 99 1/2 yr old aunt today. She is the last blood relative aunt. One other aunt is left. She is 90 and not doing all that great either.

So I have lost 3 family members in less than 2 wks.

And Gage's tumor has grown significantly. They will hold prayer service for him soon and are going to anoint him with oil.

Please join in prayer for this child.

Pocono, you are on a real roll here! [woohoo]

Thanks for all the great posts!

Lymetoo, I am so sorry for all of the losses you have suffered. That is a lot to bear in a short amount of time.

May God's grace and comfort reach down and hold you like His child.

I will pray for dear Gage. He has been through so much.

God please grant Gage complete healing from all cancer and disease. Please use his life and healing to glorify You. I fervently pray this in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Aww Lymetoo. Such loss so close together. We have comfort in our Lord's promise to be together again. With Him!

Prayers for Gage. May God heal him completely and comfort his family.

Sharing some news regarding Pastor Saeed.

Fox News is reporting that a senior Obama Administration official has confirmed that President Obama has called for the release of American Pastor Saeed Abedini in a phone conversation today with Iranian President Rouhani.

The source stated that President Obama raised Pastor Saeed’s case along with two other Americans directly with the Iranian President.

According to the report, President Obama raised concerns about the imprisonment of Saeed and expressed our country’s interest in seeing the American pastor returned to his family.

While Secretary of State Kerry has called on Iran to release Pastor Saeed, this is the first time that President Obama has himself spoken out about the wrongfully imprisoned U.S. citizen.

On behalf of the Abedini family, we're very encouraged by President Obama raising the illegal imprisonment of Pastor Saeed. Today’s call is a significant step forward in this critical case.

We're also grateful to President Obama for raising Pastor Saeed's imprisonment and call on President Rouhani to put his promise of being "moderate" into action by releasing Saeed without further delay.

Pastor Saeed's wife, Naghmeh, responded to the news:

"This is the most encouraging news I have heard since Saeed was imprisoned one year ago. I am very grateful to President Obama for standing up for Saeed and for the other Americans who are

held captive in Iran. This development is truly an answer to prayer. I urge President Rouhani, as I have done thoughout this week, to release Saeed so he can return to our home and our family in the United States.

In recent days, Iran has released 80 prisoners being held because of their beliefs. I pray that we can add Saeed to that list very soon."

Pastor Saeed, a U.S. citizen, has done nothing wrong and is imprisoned simply because of his Christian faith.

If President Rouhani wants to start a new relationship with the United States, releasing this American pastor, husband, and father now would send an important message to the world.

Over 100,000 people have already written letters to President Rouhani urging Pastor Saeed's release. Please sign a letter to Iran's president today.

Such faith. How they encourage us!!!

Tutu, May the Lord wrap His love around you and comfort you. How tough to lose so many in such a short time.

Let this mind be in you that is in Christ Jesus. The mind of Christ which spoke healing in His life and death.

Healing to Gage and us all.

lymetoo and God Thought Friends... [group hug]
Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep,
or to grieve like the rest of men,
who have no hope.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe
that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
According to the Lord’s own word,
we tell you that we who are still alive,
who are left till the coming of the Lord,
will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command,
with the voice of the archangel
and with the trumpet call of God,
and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that,
we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air.
And so we will be with the Lord for ever.
(1 Thess. 4:13-17)
Find Peace, With The Lord..
