Hi all,
Here I am, just like a bad penny, turning up when you least expect me.
Life is good in the big city. Came from town of a million or so and moved to a metropolis of 1500.
Getting up at 3.30 every morning to go to work, makes me tired all day
But met lots of good people to be friends with in BOTH jobs. One nice guy is going to help me fix my car today. Needs a new hub assembly.
Mom needs more help than I thought. Her restless legs are driving her crazy and not allowing her to sleep. Any good fixes?
More later,,gotta go to work now

Good to see you posting again. I recall reading something awhile back to help with restless legs.
And wishing I had known about that way back when my legs were keeping me from sleeping and before I was dx.
But, darn if I can recall what it was.

Hi Don,
Dr. Oz recommends cutting out coffee, chocolate and sugar for RLS. Also placing a bar of Ivory soap under the sheets near feet/legs works for many. Not sure why this works, but you can google it.

Don, pycnogenol supplement in higher dosages daily for several weeks put restless leg and restless body behind me.
Pycnogenol is pretty expensive but oh so worth it when it works for you.

Don.. they do have meds for restless legs, but they are either addictive or fraught with side effects.
Some use Klonopin. It might knock her for a loop though.

Welcome Back! So good to see you! Nice to know the job situation, other than getting up at about the same time I go to sleep, is working out too! How wonderful folks are being so good to you!
Assuming medical consults have been done already...
For Mom you might want to have her drink a tall glass of warm or cold milk (chocolate or not) just before bed time and eat a handful or two of Planter's cashews. You can buy the good cashews (Planters brand is the one I like best) in the dollar store (halves and pieces work well) and be sure you don't get the salt-free kind (yulk!).
Baked potatoes and a eating a banana here and there may also be helpful, as well as drinking some gator aid. I'm not much on the taste of gator aid and don't like the preservatives & coloring, so I get the clear colored one and water it down (just my preference).
It may take a few days to see improvement, but this may be an easy, drug-free and more happy way to get her legs to want to stop dancing all night, if it works.
