Of course, I have to make a decision today.

Currently, I'm on original Medicare and enrolled in Part D w/Silver script.

I haven't had to go to hospital, just doc appt's a few times a year. My rx's are about $1500 a year.

I tried to read differences but my brain can't handle any of it and I ended so confused I just stop. (Thus my leaving it to the last day of enrollment)>

I did talk to someone for ADVANTRA who said I should go with them, but they are selling something. I don't trust anything someone says who is trying to sell me.

Also, even though the rep TRIED to explain it, I b/c befuddled and just asked them to send me an email w/their plan. Got it, and it's as confusing.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND HAVE NO ONE TO ASK.... [confused] [confused]

Also, if I do nothing and just leave plans as they are.......do I have to re-enroll in them?

ARRRGGGGHHHHH!! I WANT MY BRAIN BACK. [cussing]

I have had Medicare Advantage for 4 years. I am very happy with it. If you have low to moderate income be sure to apply for the Extra Help for prescriptions.

Whatever you do, do not choose an HMO or PFFS. The HMO will limit your care and the PFFS will leave you with massive out of pocket expenses.

A local Lyme advocacy agency gave me the name of a trustworthy insurance broker who looked through the plans on my behalf (didn't cost anything, just wanted to help lyme patients). It may be worth it to call a support group in your state for help.

I was happy with original medicare and Part D.

There was no need for me to spend the extra per month for a supplemental plan or advantage plan.

It depends on the insurance that the doctors in your area take.

All the ones I wanted to see took original medicare and a lot of doctors offer a discount rate to medicare patients.

For the Part D plans, if you go here, you can enter in your info (location and current meds) and compare drug plans.

(this is what me and the insurance broker looked through)

The only one in my area that didn't have the donut hole issue was: Cigna Medicare Rx Secure-Max.

It had a high premium, but I wouldn't have had to worry about going over a limit.

Thanks so much for the info. I'll have to look into it for next year--earlier!

No choice in matter as my internet provider Windstream cut power Sat, Sun and part of today so I couldn't research or sign up elsewhere if I wanted to. Grr

Oh well, Judie....I'm staying w/original medicare and Silver Script for Part D. Hope it continues to be best for me.

LAX mom...thanks for info on assistance.....though I'm mortified for all of the years I worked, I have to apply for it.

Filthy ticks took my livelihood, my body and my life from me. I wish they'd never called it lyme disease.make it sound pretty...........

SHOULD HAVE CALLED IT THE BLACK DISEASE....cause once you have it .....all the light in your life goes out.
