We are entering week 2 of the Olympics. Hope you are feeling in bronze, silver or gold medal form.
Woke up to more snow this morning, but it will melt quickly. Sleet and snow coming tomorrow.
Perhaps I can drag out my childhood sled and race the "skeleton" down the driveway.
Have a super week!

Well...it is feeling like winter to me now. A lot of wind and sleet with this last storm-but thankfully didnt lose power or have to pay plow guy
I took etta out at noon to play-iwas so sunny but cold in the wind. I shove l ed the two inchrs we got but th er e was a lot of ice under it
I backed off my ibu and neurontin cuz of that dizziness and the shoulder pain is really too much. I will have to call that doc-this is really dusabling-if i take all 3 meds i have an hr apart. 6 times a day the pain is down a little-but never gone...even when lying still
Alsowhen i went off those meds my knee that just got revised and the hip on that side got much worse. I read online about that and it suggests i need hip replacement-thats what doc said last time i was there...
Really?!? I cant face more surgerys-i really cant...i want to figure out how to ride and kayak the way i am. Maybe i should get a little driving pony...and some kind of special seat for the kayak. With both its the getting in and out that is the problem-not actually doing it
They figure all this stuff out for amputees...why not for ppl with artritis?

But the best thing was i came in at ten of six and it wasnt dark yet! Spring IS coming...

We are under a winter storm warning today--up to 7 inches of sleet/snow coming and it is coming down hard right now.
Luckily we had no school today anyway with President's Day so I think I will ice up the shoulder and elbow after I take a mid morning nap.

Yeah-we get whats left over tomorrow. Im getting a slow start but it is very sunny. I go to dentist later-first time in four yrs
Then tonight i think neighbor will get on ladder and remove smal.Strip of wallpaper up high in living-dining area
My reward to myself for doing all this paperwork is "allowing" myself to paint the walls. I have most of the room together but never did the walls so when i am done it should look really good.
Someday i will have to pay someone to do the ceilings
I just noticed the last batch of snow that fell off the garage means the drift around it is higher than the wall...i need to take a pic...and we need spring

We have had over twice the amount of snow already that we normally get all winter.
However, today was in the 40's and sunny and the snow is melting. Expecting thunderstorms on Thursday!
I just hope basements (including mine) do not flood as the piles of snow are still very high around the house.
I hope to get back to my exercise plan within a few days. I can tell that slacking off makes it harder for me to walk and stand at work.

Thanks Hiker for starting this week's thread.
This weekend I won the gold in handyman chores!
Sunday I scraped paint off the wrought iron railings for about 2 hours and painted a closet ceiling.
Monday I painted a closet and patch work in the bathroom. And scraped more paint off the railings for about 4 hours.
My arms were on FIRE afterwards from muscle burn and they're still burning today but not as bad.
I absolutely can't wait to get my Mom's house ready to sell so I can take a break. A long, long break.
Alas my poor trailer has gone to the wayside along with my huge yard. I just look at all the leaves that haven't been raked and the limbs that need to be picked up and just sigh.
On the bright side, my nephew Josh helped me for 2 days and he texted to say he'll help me this Sunday too. Yeah!
Hope everyone is doing great and will see you all tomorrow!

Kayak.. It sounds like the most horrible winter there!! I will step up the prayers for you. I hope your neighbor is OK too. It's a scary feeling to get caught out there in the snow/ice.
hiker.. I hope you get more melting soon. I hate to even say how warm it is here.
AK .. take good care of those muscles! Try upping your magnesium! It should help!
I did some shopping today and got my hair cut. My muscles and feet hurt. I think it's because I've been cheating on my diet. GRRR... Just not fun to have to eat so strictly.
I need to go take some more magnesium!

Glad to hear that you survived, kayak! Be careful out there. I know you will be glad when winter is OVER! It's been very nice here. Today it is VERY windy .. gusts to 45-50. But no rain and no snow, so I'll take it!
These Olympics are a bit disappointing, aren't they? Some successes, but overall not so wonderful. A few more days. I will miss not having something to watch though!
AK .. I know how much the mag helps ME!
Hiker .. you doing OK?
Where is everyone else?

Kayak-I've had 2 shoulder surgeries and 1 elbow surgery all on the left arm. Need more but am putting it off indefinitely.
TuTu-I took some mag last night and do feel better today.
BTW, coming down with another cold or something. Can you all believe it!? I'm sure it's all the stress I've been under since the end of August.
Back to gargling with warm salt water and Nyquil AM and PM Severe.

Friday-Still not feeling well. Was wheezing pretty bad last night but slept quite a bit.
Changing the subject, I thought I was going to have to build an ark last night. Man did it rain down here or what?! Thunder would wake me up but then I'd go right back to sleep.
Today's a beautiful day, just wish I felt better to enjoy it.

It was cooler here today but really nice! I went to the grocery store early and (well, early for ME!) and then later picked up my helper.
She got two drains unplugged with a coat hanger. So I canceled the call to the landlord. It wasn't bad, but stopped up. Just needed to be pushed through.
She also cleaned the bathrooms and washed sheets.
Then I introduced her to Blue Bell ice cream. Poor thing had never had any. I told her she was going to hate me for telling her about it.
(she had me stop at Walgreen's so she could get some!)

Anyway...after lunch its back to finishing paperwork for me and hopefully my reward of being able to paint living room
Last night in bed i had some ideas of how to make the exercise/junk room more useable
I am thinking since this recent hardphysical work really hurt...but then i did recover and i lost weight....maybe i should go ahead and exervise for awhile. And see if i can break thru this plateau ofnot losing
Ak-i really think you need guiefenesin...you can get it at the dollar store...i just read on here fenugreek gets rid of mucus too.i didnt know that
Glad u had a productive day tute
Hope hiker is ok-there was bad weather in IL but its a big state(no comment texas tutu)

Saturday-Busy already! Made lots of coffee for the urns and cranked out 20 sales folders. After posting this am going to check the coffee. 7 more hours to go.
TuTu-For shame! Are you pushing ICE CREAM on poor unsuspecting helpers? I've read in TIME magazine that BB is one of the most addictive out there.
Kayak-Listen to your knee. No....don't put your ear on it..... Whenever I'm hurting, I try to take it easy with that body part for awhile. Could be inflammation.
Thanks for the heads up on Guiefensin. I'm taking Nyquil and Dayquil Severe which has that ingredient in it. I've got so much nasal and chest congestion again. Hope I get better before the work onslaught tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a terrific weekend. See you all later!

Randibear--good for you for walking. I am still waiting for ice/snow to disappear.
LP--sounds like you get a lot of exercise despite your knee and shoulder. Way to go with the weight loss!
Aklwlf---Rest once you get home from work. You need to get well.
Tutu--Can I come over for ice cream?
I had good week at work, did my usual grocery shopping and even went back into work today to set up a lab for next week.
Went to get a blood test for allergies. I know the test is controversial, but I have had it twice with slightly different results (although eggs and dairy always show up--ugh!). Thought I would see what happens this time.
I laughed at the lady who drew my blood who said I was special (that means difficult in medical terms). I was not difficult in terms of my politeness, but getting blood out of me is like getting blood out of a turnip and I always have to lie down.
She was surprised when I told her I really wasn't difficult. I don't think she realized I knew that the term "special" meant in medical terms. She agreed that I was not at all rude, just hard to get blood from.
Need to go rescue food baking in the oven. Weekends I cook and freeze for the week.

I was afraid to take a bath. The roof over the bath is the one i cant rake so it still has over a foot of rain soaked snow/ice on it
I can barely walk and it was scarey to get into a sit down shower thinking the roof might come down on me
I washed my hair in the sink and had a sponge bath and a really nice lunch with my friend
When i got back i couldnt resist the easy raking and chopping from the melting...and i for sure over did it
I have a heating pad on my back now and dont plan on doing much til i fall asleep
Randi-i was thinking of you today and then you posted. I was even thinking about the lake you walk around. I wondered if you lose weight when you do that. Even when i work this hard and get sore i might lose a little but it just comes back. 30 lbs in 6 months just doesnt seemlike much to me. But at least im not gaining

Im trying to loose at least 90 pounds. I dont seem to loose when I exercise. I literally have to go down to less than a 1000 calories per day.
My lower back just kills me and my hips feel like they are stabbing me. When I get back to the car I can barely get into it I hurt so bad.
I have bulges throughout the lower back and degenerating something or other. Walking is painful but I have to do it.

Im in similar situation but only dare walk a long ways with the walker-its easier to walk more normal with the new one with wheels
But if i exercise i cant hardly do anything else in a day-including cook healthy food and shower
Are you aware of the thing about if you eat so few calories your body thinks its in starvation mode ?
Its frustrating to do such painful exercise and not lose. I lat 30 in the last six months and still need to lose 100-but somehow i dont think that will ever happen
If you have back problems a recumbant bike is supposed to be the best way...maybe you could try one at a local gym

AK .. I doubt Time magazine is smart enough to know about Blue Bell ice cream from Texas. It is NOT Blue Bunny. That stuff is nasty in comparison.
I need to find out how my helper's cookies and cream went down!
Hiker.. Glad to know the term "special." I know they love to draw blood from me too.. but I don't think I'm as special as you!
randi .. good job on the walking.. and kayak is right .. Don't go into starvation mode with the eating. It will always backfire.
Even eating 2000 calories one day and 1000 the next would be better than 1000 every day for long periods of time. Catch your body off guard! Don't forget to eat healthy fats like avocados and eggs.
Kayak.. will it melt more tomorrow? HOPE SO!!
We are back to colder weather this coming week. Today was very nice.
I made cultured vegetables today .. about 7 small jars.
