So do you think there is a connection?

I thought I was clear and free (aka magical thinking:)) and ate some gluten pasta an hour ago. I made it for my hubby for dinner last night and the left overs were calling out my name.

Anyway, now my face feels burning pins and needles. Can gluten really do that? It has been forever since ate gluten and figured a little would not hurt. Hum.....Could gluten cause this type of symptom and this fast?

Yeah, I think it could...

What about yeast? I know you battle that like I do (or have.)
It really bites.
I feel like I can't stray hardly at all and I pay.

3-4 days ago I bought some Pau D'Arco tea, and holy moly-
bloated, constipated, die off.
Really? I think, after all this time? Ugh.

Meanwhile my DH eats ice cream by the pint without a care in the world.

Sorry, lol.
But I hear you on the frustration of wanting to eat 'normal'.

Could be either one. I could write a book about what's happened to me over the past 5 weeks after falling off the gluten-free wagon.

Stay FAR FAR AWAY from it.

OMG..Me too with the Pau D' Arco! And the hubby - he brings home chocolate of all things! How do I say no to that?

I started Pau D' Arco 3 days ago and have been bloated like a balloon!!! I also added in Olive Leaf Extract and Oil of Oregano.

Plus, I am pulsing Diflucan every other day for the past week along with daily Nystatin again.

I had been off of antibiotics for a while but had to go back on again for dental stuff and a recent tick bite so I decided to get back on the anti-fungals.

I guess, like you, I have no margin for error when it comes to diet. But I am soo hungry for all the things I can no longer eat!

Our hubbys need to eat that ice cream in private!

Lymetoo; Are you back on the wagon again? I know you are super strict with your diet stuff!

I betcha both the gluten AND the carbs in the pasta got me. I never eat pasta...brown rice yes but pasta no, not even gluten free pasta.

How many years does it take to heal our gut or will that never happen after all these years of abx.'s?

You may have also reacted to the dairy/cheese.

desertwind... Back ON for sure!

I have no idea how long it takes to heal one's gut. I'm still trying. It's been years and years.

I guess we have to do the "right thing" and we may not know what that is!

Oh, the gut. To be honest, before Lyme knowledge, I ate pretty unhealthy. Lots of wine before I quit drinking at age 23,

then diet sodas and easy gluten carbs galore. Candy, etc.

So, I shouldn't be 'surprised' (ha ha) I've muddled it for the long haul, but nonetheless, it's tough! And darn right painful at times :-(

Had a nice morning at a museum w/ my family, back home now to make my cup of Pau D' arco, and put sweatpants on, golly I hate the bloat. Skinny w/ a tummy. Niccceee. (Not.)

Yes, I am skinny w/a tummy too. I know exactly what you mean. I am like...what the heck is going on???!!!!??? I typically do not have a bloated belly except for when this stuff starts acting up.

Enjoy the freedom of sweats and that cup of Pau.

Important info on dairy and gluten...

"Look to significantly reduce or eliminate grains and sugars in all forms from your diet. Many people with seasonal allergies report nothing short of miraculous improvement when gluten containing grains or even complete avoidance of grains and sugar is followed particularly during allergy season."

Glad you are better, Tu Tu!

Very strange, the link you have for Pau D'Arco has the headline correct, but then writes of ipriflavone.

At first I thought: what, soy?! Thought it was tree bark, lol.

Here is the correct link:
http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-647-Pau+D'Arco.aspx?activeIngredientId=647&activeIngredientName=Pau+D'Arco&source=1

I seem to have greater sensitivity to foods during allergy season - interesting info.

Good info on Pau.as well.

I went to the same link you did and then clicked on "side effects." If I'm understanding correctly, the Pau d' arco is derived from soy. That is why it helps those in menopause.

No, it is not soy at all.

It is literally tree bark. The only tree that can naturally ward off fungus.

Here is the possible side effects page from your link corrected:

Man, I am so exhausted and stiff/sore today. Wondering if it was the gluten I ate yesterday.

I doubled up the Pau D' Arco and OOO and OLE so maybe yeast herx but man....I forgot how nasty yeast herx/candidas can be!!!!! Plus I added a new Custom Probiotic - D-Lactate Free to the mix. I always over-do it when I do it....

I hope Pau is not soy based....

It's not soy based, I promise. That was a weird glitch on the website w/ Tu Tu's link.

We are alike- I overdo it, too! I forgot how yeast fighting makes me tired. I added SF722 last night and this morning, now I want to nap.

I also dislike how it makes me actually crave sugar- last time I had Diflucan, I'd take it in the morning, then wicked cravings I couldn't control 1/2 the time at night for sugared items.

But, my diet is much better now- no grains, no dairy (or soy.)
But I do like dried fruit. And dark chocolate on occasions...
Green apples, berries are my major fruits.
But like to bake w/ dried fruit. And some honey.

Oh good cuz I don't do well with soy (geez don't do well with anything in my gut:)).

What is SF722? Are apples a "safe" food in terms of candidas? I thought it was?

I am so exhausted too and just ate...oh god...just ate a bowel of gluten free/corn free cereal w/ unsweetened rice mike. I am starving.....craving sugar and there is a ton in the house (thank you dh).

I took a Diflucan 3 days ago and was going to take another one today but don't think I should.

I took no yeast killers today - I feel like I need to catch up with the herx.

I had been good with the diet but had a bad moment and now it feels like I cant get back on the wagon. Weight is never an issue - sometimes I actually get too light, so I sometimes think, "hey can it really hurt to eat this?".

So, how to get back on the strict diet again? Yeast dying and body craving carbs and sugar.

I am too lite, too (about 100 pounds) I can't seem to put weight on- if I 'overeat' (which really means big meals)

my gut gets backed up and it's misery. Had an endo and colonoscopy, all checked out. So I keep working on yeast, parasites, anti- inflammatory foods and supps, leaky gut healing.

SF722 is by Thorne- here is what it says: (copied)

'Undecylenic acid (10-undecenoic acid) is an eleven-carbon, mono-unsaturated fatty acid occurring naturally in the body's perspiration. While several fatty acids have beneficial effects on the flora that naturally inhabit the gastrointestinal tract, undecylenic acid is the most potent.*

A Thorne Research innovation, Formula SF722 contains undecylenic acid in a base of pure, extra-virgin olive oil. Formula SF722 aids in the establishment of healthy gut and vaginal flora and has been one of Thorne Research's best-selling products for over two decades.'

Whatever that means, lol. I am nearing the end of a bottle, I won't buy more, but I find it helpful (see die off) but only take 2-3 at a time.

Not affiliated, have read good reviews, needed a natural product for yeast.

I don't know, desert. It is hard to get back on but when I get sick enough it's "easier" to do! [Wink]

Try to keep enough "safe" foods around, which for me is often "nothing."
