I threw moth balls where the deer go behind my house and they haven't been back. (4 days ago). I just realized they are toxic but so are deer ticks!

Ha!! I do not need anything, were ever I go all the deer leave for the next county.
In a couple decades of hunting I have never got close enough for a shot. The last 7 years I have never seen a deer during hunting season.Except in feilds were a person can not hunt.

When I gardened, I put mothball flakes under my bulbs when I planted them so deer, etc. wouldn't eat them. It worked. Since Lyme/cos entered the picture I no longer garden. But hmmm, maybe throwing some mothballs/flakes into the yard wouldn't hurt...

I like the moth flake idea I may use that In my recentstudy of using moth balls to repel mice I learned it is illegal to put them outside in some places A very few of them gassed me out of the house but they got rid ofsquirrels in kthe wall and thye mice stayed away for 3 days after I aired house out I wish I could use them without. Getting sick

Maddog..I counted 10 deer in my neighbors yard the other day. I live in a suburb with small lots but woods behind us and parks all around. Because there is no population control these deer are thriving and have no fear of people or dogs. My Jack Russell goes crazy and I wish I could turn him loose on them but he would probably get kicked or get Lyme again. It's mind boggling to me that the public has no idea what a monumental health threat the deer pose.

The environmental reservoir for Lyme is not deer - it is rodents (mice, etc.).

15 deer in my yard the other day. Occasionally I will hear gun shots (illegal) at night in my neighborhood. Thinking it might be someone wanting venison or tired of them chomping on plants in yard. But bullets go a long way, and this really worries me. No use calling the cops...by the time they got here, if they did come, the culprit would be inside their house and not catchable.
