We rescued a puppy from the pound recently and are having a hard time coming up with a name for her.

We were calling her Olive for a while, but it just doesn't seem to fit.

Any suggestions?

She's a mutt, probably a shepherd mix. Very sweet and affectionate. Smart too.

I'll try to post a photo if I can figure out how to do it.

A picture would help. I have a rescue that is a part shepherd, black and tan **** hound and beagle. She is black and tan with a shepard body.

We call her Zoey.

Thanks, everybody. Good suggestions!

No, we haven't decided yet. Not sure why we're having so much trouble picking a name.

Yeah, she's gonna be a big girl too. She has probably doubled in size since we got her and she eats like a horse, much more than our other two dogs ever did.

She definitely has some baggage tho', being a pound puppy and all. You can tell she was abused by someone along the way.

I just don't get how anyone can hurt a defenseless animal. It makes me sick. And mad.

Name her after your MIL

Every time you call her you could get a giggle

Just kidding: don't want to do that to a dog......

She is soooooo cute! How about Ginger, Izzy, Sophie, Stella, Willow, Gigi?

Maybe as her personality comes out more, a specific name will come to you. You can always Google female dog names for a list.

Congrats on your new buddy! Your love will erase the bad that has happened to her. Rescue dogs are forever grateful!

We have decided to stick with Olive. I call her Livvy for short.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

She really is sweet, just love her to death.

She plays kinda rough with our older dogs, so I am trying to teach her not to do that.

I'm not much of a pack leader tho'. Cesar Milan needs to pay us a visit.

She is beautiful. Reminds me of my dog but he is black. I was trying to think of a name for him too and asking on this site. I finally settled on Jasper, Jazz for short.

Maybe she has some mastiff in her - such a beautiful face, and she looks like she will be BIG!

I like Olive - very cute.

I remember when you posted about Jasper. Such a handsome young man!

I also remember the photos of your horses. Beautiful.

They add so much joy to our lives.
