Yes, that is definitely worrisome. That was the same problem with the IOM study: they were told to leave out treatment of chronic cases. Told by whom, one wonders? Probably the CDC/NIH. If your panel is muzzled at the outset with the most pressing issue omitted, then any outcome will be limited to small things.

Maybe the PA lyme people can turn a lemon into lemonade in this case. The NY legislation came from a task force study.
