Is it really almost August? I am back from vacation and need to start thinking about getting my classroom ready for school.
But first I am going to water my gardens and hopefully go for a walk. It is only in the 60's here and sunny.
Have a great week!!!

Monday-Thanks Hiker for starting this week's thread.
Bad news-I'm going to my GP at 4:15 today. I have a bull's eye rash in my groin area. Smaller ones on my leg. I'm super worried.

AK--I will be saying prayers and like LP said "fight for it." or tell him you had a rocky mountain spotted fever type of rash earlier--same treatment and by law they have to treat.
Take pictures of the rash as soon as you can in case it fades.

AK--what's the news? I'll keep praying.
I walked a bit today and did my balance exercises.
Looks like my ingrown toenail is back. Last time he just cut it without needing to numb the toe, but he said if it came back he would numb the toe and take a bigger piece. I go tomorrow morning.
I hate to see a grown women cry--the shot in the toe hurts so much that I have to ask for a ball to squeeze. This will put a damper on my exercise and the rest of the week's errands.

Tuesday-My GP said it looked like some type of bite and prescribed 100 mg Doxy 2x a day for 7 days and a steroid cream.
I'm super worried because I feel sick today. Seems like I'm herxing. Does that happen so soon after a bite?
Took pictures and trying to locate a lyme literate MD in FL that someone had told me about.
OMG!

AK--I would skip the steroid cream. If it is Lyme, that can make it worse. The cream does get absorbed through the skin. Try aloe vera or calamine lotion if it itches.
I know how worried you are. I would be, too. It is easy for me to say to try and stay calm as stress only aggravates disease, but it is totally another matter when you are the one feeling sick.
I don't know how long it takes to herx aftr a bite or to feel symptoms. I never saw a tick and I never got a rash, but a week after I went hiking I was down for the count although one LLMD thought I had the disease much longer.
God--I ask that you calm AK and that if this is a recent bite that the doxy knocks any disease for a loop quickly.
PM me if you want to talk or vent!!!

Able to give Rosie and I a shower this am and get gas in the car.
It took me until now to start to feel human again and that is if I continue to lie here in the quiet.
Hot here today. I need to hceck the temps. 10 7 down in the valey. Usually 10 or 20 degrees cooler here.
But, in the 90's is too hot for me.

Another sunny cool day. Got up early to walk--still using the trekking poles which is a disappointment as I started the summer without them.
Had my ingrown toenail cut out. He thought he could get it without numbing the toe, so I put up with a little pain to skip the shot. I want to keep mobile and the other option to cut 1/3rd of the nail puts me off my feet for a few days.
Did my balance exercises.
Am going to try a gluten free recipe for zucchini bread. I have a lot of zucchini from my garden. Went to the farmer's market yesterday and picked up some other fresh vegetables. Cheaper than the store!

Thurs--AK your mailbox is full.
Set out to walk today without my trekking poles. Did not get very far. Turned around came back and prayed.
Then took my trekking poles and had a nice walk. I wanted to get back out and walk and not give in to how I feel. So, now I will take the poles with me and if I need them I will use them and if not I will just carry them.
Did my balance exercises.
Am starting to make a list of what I need to get done in the classroom before school starts. Two weeks from today and I officially go back to work, but I need to go into my room soon to get ready.

AK... that is horrible!!! Be sure to see another Dr so you can get more doxy when that runs out. I also would want 4-6 wks worth at 400mg a day.
We're not allowed to talk about fish doxy here, but there is always the PM function!!
I'm back... almost.... We are back in Houston and will head north tomorrow morning. Wish us safe journeys!!
Don't tell anyone but we blew through a toll road thingy today. Big OOPS!!!! We couldn't move over in time and ended up in the lanes for those with passes. We had no pass.
So we will go online and see about paying that way. We told the person at the next booth and that is what she said to do.

Im like that with my walker hiker. I never know when my jnee wint line up right and wont take my weught. If i didnt take it i wouldnt go anywhere but with it i pribably walk without leanung on it 90% of the time. My security blanket. Its ok
You guys go back to school early. We never went back before labor day
Soooo its the 31 st. Yesterday was a blur. I woke up in pain as usual after a sort of restful day the day before
I was planning another restful day when my girlfriend...the one with lyme who has so much energy now that she is on buhner herbs...she called and wanted to come prep the kitchen to paint. I think she got to the house a little after nine
And she prepped...and she painted and then she painted again and then she cleaned up and put the furniture back
It looks beautiful
She worked 12 hours and i mostly sat and slept and sat and slept
It makes me really want to get back on buhner herbs ag a in
Today i didnt do that much...we had storms going thru and sun inbetween them. The first time it rained i pulled weeds out by the road that were really tall and i know i am allergic to them so wanted them.gone before they let their pollen out
I cleared out the laundry rooom and did four small loads of layndry, and found new places to put stuff that didnt belong in my spiffy new kitchen, and when it rained agin i weeded a little more in the back and picked some viney perrenials to put in with my petunia hanging basket that is getting dried out and leggy...i gave it some new soil too and hope it starts to look better
We had a bad shooting not too far away and they havent caught the guy yet. So many robberies and shootings...is it like that where you are?
Probably will go to bed early and try to pick up more tomorrow
I wonder when tutu will be back

Need to go and pick up two more deposited this am on the other side of the apartment complex..mabye 3..i just recalled another spoot i had to leave until heatlh was doing well enough to get it.
taht is my biggee this am for movement...ha..no pun intended.
getting up now to get in power chair and head over to the spots.
then hoping to be able to charge tha t power chair.
And hoping to be able to do some dishes this am

Hmmmm. I dont know why i didnt see tutu had posted
Another slow morning. Yesterday i started 1 x a day anfrographis
I feel i have to do a luttle tx...its making me feel tired and spacey
And im taking really small dose...but i begn flagyl and rifampin separately years ago at really low dose. Within a few weeks i worked up to full dose and they really helped me...so i hope it willbe like that
I am very lucky to be retired and alone so i dint have to work or take care of others while i feel like this. I keep focusing on my friend who isdoing so well with herbs now f2f or 3-4 months
Ak-remember if a drug or supplement makes you feel sick you are pribably killing bugs. Sometimes it means you have to take time off work. People take time off work if they get the flu. Its not the end of the world. A week off with two weekends gives you nine days. I hope you will use up the doxy you have and then find an herb or over the counter that will continue to knock down the bb from the new bite
Txing now at this critical time can have a huge affect on the rest of your life. You are a worker. You have people in your life who need you to be healthy and strong. Please put the world on hold for a short time and take care of yourself . I am sending you strength and love. I care. And i know your dilemma.

Walked. Able to do half the walk today without the trekking poles.
Ran a few errands--3 different grocery stores. I really need to go clothes shopping for work clothes, but I absolutely detest shopping for clothes.
Have a good weekend.

Nice weather .. really was beautiful while we were gone. Still pretty nice!
Hey kayak.. I saw your comment to Silver about bears. While we were gone, they spotted a BIG bear less than a mile or so from us! It was tall! They had a pic of it on Facebook. They have spotted bears from time to time during the winter, but I've never seen info on any at this time of year.
