Hi <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,
Tired just now, fighting a flu bug, IC and probably a bit of a UTI, and herxing from some meds.
TxC' has the flu bug too,and lots of VA matters stress.
Last week an American legion Vets' officer got word to him about the ' Nexus Letter', for some reason the regular V.O. s seem to forget this info'. And you cannot win a disability appeal w/o the letter.
We've been fighting for his disability earned rights for almost five years [sorry if my phraseology isn't right, brain drain...].
We were never told about the necessity, of the Nexus Letter. A letter written y the Vets PCP, that ties the various medical reports/info' together.
We have been told of folks fighting, and appealing 8 to 10 years, and not getting the benefits they need and are legitimately owed because the info' was kept from them...More lists and delaying tactics, most likely.
So TxC' has been busy, getting medical info' files ready, as well as fighting the flu. Maybe at the end of all this we might finally get his correct amount of diability benifits ??! One can hope and pray.
Meanwhile, life is going on, I got to go to a couple days of VBS last week and help K- 6th graders w/ crafts, and TxC' was in the play skits. He also helped w/ crafts, we had an enjoyable time.
Now we are trying to recuperate and get over the flu [repiratory mostly]. VBS was worth it, we had 150 to 175 folk every night, from Sun. the 17th, thru Thur.the 21st. Our church has about 300 folk from Newborn up thru the 90's in age.
I cannot do as much as I'd wish, but helping kid, knowing we were giving them a safe place to learn, encouraging them...it is worth it.
The VBS program gives folks of all ages a good safe place to meet, learn about Gods word and so on. Only VBS I've ever gone to, that had adult classes too, so parents and guardians can come and enjoy.
I don't mean to go on and on... it was a bright spot for us!!!
We were encouraged, as much as anyone ! Sometimes one needs that encouraging w/ all the battles and health issues, and life in general.
As far as VA and disability, if you are fighting for your benefits, and have not heard about the Nexus letter. There are on-line sites that explain.
Gotta go for now, as my brain is burping again..and I am losing my concentration... aarrghh... I hate flu bugs.
