Sounds like kam and hiker have had a good start to the day!!

Kam was on the trail for 7 full minutes and hiker is cooking salmon on the grill! YUM!! [Smile]

Had a nice church service and our regular kids were there plus 5 visitors. Two of them chose to hear pastor's sermon and 5 came to children's church with us.

We read about Zacchaeus and played "pin Zaccheaus on the tree." LOL .. Blindfolded them and had them place their "Z" on a branch (if they could.)

It was a hit. [Big Grin]

Took some photos of white fluffy clouds today. God has been making pretty skies over here this past week. I have some great photos.

I'll probably go with my husband to the gig again this evening. Hope we have people show up!

Tutu--I bet people show up. I listened to your hubby's music and "wow" he is ever good.

Pin Zaccheaus on the tree--how creative and fun.

Lawn is mowed. It so full of crabgrass that the young man had a hard time getting the mower through.

I really don't want to put down weed and feed, though. Will have to think about this. It's times like this when I wish I had a condo, but there are not many one level condo's around here.

And the condo communities don't let you plant flowers or a garden, so I should be very happy with my house. Just wish the yard was smaller, so not so much upkeep. Very nice neighbors, though, and that counts for a lot.

I raked while Caleb trimmed, so I got a bit more exercise and some sun. Nice to see the sun out today.

Severe storms expected tomorrow.

Time to rescue the whites out of the dryer and remake the bed. Then it will be reading on the couch!

Hiker so many rules about plantings is why i really want to own my own piece of dirt as long as i can

Kam-glad you had a good walk

Hope tutus having a good time tonight

Im very tired. One day prep and two days selling yard sale stuff

Today was really humid and 80 and bad pollen reaction. Ived been out of c and e for awhile and now im getting low on other stuff. I think thats why pollen is giving me so much trouble this year...all the mold and dust is gone but im still sick

The truck i bought from neighbors is full of their corgis hair. I have had to have hypoallergenic dogs for over 20 yrs so that is a problem too...decided to have truck professionally. Cleaned and when they hesrd they went haves on the charge with me and they are taking it and bringing it back so that is really helpful

I got rid of all the heavy stuff at the yard sale so i dont have to put it away! When i started i had six tables and tarps covering the whole front yard...now its down to 3 tables...hope its all gone tomorrow...

Etta needs me...back later

After cleaning up yard sale i slept for two hours. When i woke it was drizzling out so i went out and dead headed butterfly bush and daisys and cosmos...one of my roses is blooming a second time and astors and mum.from last year are ready to pop

I need time and cool weather to get those new purple plants i boght last week into the ground

There are bad storms going by north and south of us but just gentle rain here-still hot and humid a few more dys they say

Th er eeven was a tonado warning for half an hour south of us...but its over...

Guess i need to hunker down...i am so glad i got rid of stuff...i can reclaim my carport!

Sounds like you two had a really successful day! Thanks for the kudos for my husband, hiker! He did a nice job tonight and the people enjoyed it. He seemed to be more relaxed and the audience always picks up on that.

Kayak.. SO HAPPY you got rid of so much stuff! YEA! and BIG stuff too!!

Wish we could have had a sale when we moved. I had to just give it all away. Hope it made someone happy!!

Able to wash a few dishes this am and fill ice pack bag.

Getting back up now to go pick up Rosie's deposit from this am...still not dressed..i'll put my robe over PJ's and slippers on to get the job done.

Going camping was on my mind this am but not as abl eto do much right now so not so sure.

Concerned about the 90 degree temp all week...wondering if i will be OK in the shade in my tent on the cot with the cooling towels on.

Having second thoughts..maybe I wil check and see what next week's temps are predicted. I know I will only be 10 min from home and can come home to the air conditioned apartment during the day.

But, don't like the idea of leaving me tent and cot as I have had things tolen from my capsite while making a bathrom trip at one time.

I had the choice to either go for another wlak in the forest this am or try and do a few things around here...not sure I made the correrect choice this am.

FAded fast. And it is much better for the soul to be in the forest...even if i am only on my feet for 7 min or so.

OK Got Rosie's deposit picked up and to the dumpster

Checked one weather site...next week will be cooler and probably better for camping...a few summer storms

But, need to get something to protect me and the power chair before then.

Kam--I think you are right to wait until it is cooler to camp.

I am very thankful for Labor Day--slept in a bit.

I went for a walk using my trekking poles. First time I have walked in several weeks--since school started. Felt good.

I needed the walk to loosen up all the tight muscles I acquired from weeding yesterday--quads and hamstrings very tight.

They changed the forecast and the rain is not coming until later today and less of a chance. That will give people a chance to enjoy their day off.

I remember as a kid when all the stores were closed on holidays. I think it is a shame that most are open today on a holiday to give the American worker time off. It's all about the $$.

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.

I thought last nights rain here was going to change things but it didnt. 80-90 with high humidity allweek then tshowers over weekend and 70 s next week

I will have to just work inside until the wather changes

I know the feeling kam of needing your environment right. I write the weather on my calendar to help plan...it often changes but does help me plan

So far it is slow...i wanted to work reorganizing carport while waiting for ppl...but. i really cant breathe out there. I did my check book-saaad situation...and i really need meds

I guess i better just clean inside from wc

Be safe kam

Take care, everyone! Glad to hear that healthy choices are being made!

It's been raining all morning here. We needed the rain. More to come. Maybe it will help us have a prettier fall. At least it will keep so many leaves from falling prematurely!

We probably won't be going out today.

it was a long day of unpacking and rearranging furniture. she said she loves it and I have't seen her happier in a very long time. I hope it all works out. she has dyslexia (no tick disease, yay)

she is about 1.5 hrs away.

today I have been getting ready for art/craft show in 2 short weeks!! sewing, sanding, painting..... fun fun.

my MIL just called- taking FIL to ER in ambulance. please say prayer. he is very sick with all kinds of stuff and was just in hospital this AM with nausea and they thought dehydration. now having extreme chills and chest pain. I hope it's only anxiety. he has history of heart disease too.

:/

I couldnt get moving at 5 as planned but did a lot of boxing up at six

I had to leve some stuff out to let sun dry it...then later in day i covered and dragged totes under carport cuz storms are coming

Did i tell u guys about the fake hornet nests i boght for 7$?

You hang them up and it makes hornets think the territory is taken so they go somewhere else. Those things worked well for a year...but yesterday i saw these little wasps buzzing around and then landing on them. One had at least sux

After i packed up today i sprayed the nests hoping to keep the wasps fromcoming back...i didnt see them or they were inside and came towards me

Really scarey for me cuz i had bad experience as a kid...but i got in the house without getting stung and they seem to be gone

First front is going thru now a nd second later tonight

I work for 15 min and crash for an hour...one of those days

I made some important phone calls...thats about it

Today was a teacher institute day full of meetings.

The bonus is we got an hour for lunch rather than 28 minutes.

So, I ate lunch at work and then went for a 20 minute walk around the school track with my trekking poles.

Kam--sounds like nature is so good for you.

LP--you have gotten a lot done lately.

Any time we got more than the 30 minutes, I was thrilled beyond measure. If we got to eat out, I was in heaven. I was always jealous of those who had jobs where they could go out for lunch and get away from the office or whatever.

For the first 8 yrs of my teaching, we had to eat WITH the kids at their tables. No break at all.

I love kids... but it was exhausting to not have a few minutes to regroup.

Tutu....i too thought...this is not right..when i first started teaching and ate lunch in the classroom with the students.

I had come from working in corporations..but even then lunch breaks were 30 min..we did have a cafeteria though to go to.

I also was suprised at how isolated teachers are and how little interaction there was with co workers.

Able to wash a few dishes. Est 5 min on feet maybe before having to lay back down.

More dishes to do..just a few..when able.

Yes. Very true. When I began to crave interaction with an adult, I would get my kids working and walk across the hall to my friend's classroom. We would chat for 5 min or whatever time we could get away with.

When I worked in open area schools, it was easier to walk over to the edge of my classroom and talk to my partner next door.

Recess was not only for the students! Hahaha!

So glad to see your tutu graphics back.

Able to take a stand up shower last night. It is always fun to see what the hair style looks like when you go to bed with wet hair

Even with short wet hair it gets creative.

wtg for excedrin to kick in then hoping to plug in power chair to charge, clean up in kitchen, pay rent, put on hiking shoes and hit the trail. [Smile]

Water is being turned off here at the apartments today to fix a broken line...so need to fill some pans, pithers with water...

Good morning. Able to do the dishes, plug in the power chair, get out of the apartment via the car.

Looked for doctor's office that was recommended to me by chiro. I think I found it.

I wanted to see what the hours were. But, I was doing well enough to call th eoffice and take in what the hours were via the phone message.

ASked for 8:30 am appt and for them to leave a msg on my land line.

But, that call did me in bran wise plus I was in a parking lot near the highway and the sound of the traffice was too much.

Consdired heading home instead of getting gas in the car or finding a trail for Rosie and I.

Passed gas station and headed out to an old trail that was near by.

Recalled once I was on the trail why it is not a good trail for me....hot out all ready too.

But, thankful I had the hiking shoes that have better traction on as I needed them.

I'll check in a min was to when I got on my feet and when I got off of my feet.

Lots of glass in the area too.

Drove the up and down road back across town along with the pot holes etc.

I wanted to take pics. But, hoping I remember I need to go in the afternoon to take pics as the things i wawnted to take pics of were in the shade.

Felt human and like I had accomplished something when I got home.

But, as I lay here the head stuff is flaring up...hoping that it will be OK as I veg.

Good news is the wildlife I saw even though it was later thean i usually am out and hotter.

It is 8:30 am now.

I saw a herd of Elk..they left me in the dust as they trotted away and in some cases ran while I was on the dirt road just on th edge of the paved city road and housings.

While on the paved road in the city neighborhood saw javelina.

Then saw quail as I was going across on the county half paved half pot hole road.

It is seconds to catch the wildlife crossing the road. I really like it when they are crossing the road while I have time to see them.

WAsn't able to get any pictures. They move to fast and were back in hiding before I could even pick up the camera.

OK need to veg..brain flare is getting worse. Ugh.

Kayak.. Maybe you brought in too much mold from the stuff in storage?? Is a lot of it in your house?

If not, maybe just the exposure to all of it has set you off.

Hope you feel better soon. One thing that helps me is Nasal Crom spray. It blocks the allergic response. Therefore you get fewer allergic symptoms.

For me, Swanson's Vitamins are about a day quicker than Vitacost.

Hoping this means I've turned the corner and the worst of lyme is behind me:

Drove to Arkansas and back for the holiday weekend, 12 hours each way!

Haven't been able to go there in more than a year.

Golfed 18 holes Friday, 18 holes Sunday and 18 holes on Monday!!

Visited with friends and family and made a trip to the dog park!

went to ma and pa health food store. Being on my feet made it more difficult than usual to get things.

Shelves are beginning to be bare...i assume it is because they are no longer getting their usual Wednesday shipment in...store is closing.

they were out of local eggs but owner said he would FB me when they got some in.

Drove Rosie and I out to the forest area..I wasn't sure if I would be able to be on my feet or not..need to put hiking shoes in car just in case.

I had my sandles on but wasn't able to be on the trail.

let Rosie out in the cudlesac (sp)

I had forgotten how it is not relazing to have the other guy there. He has been there before with his dog.

Rosie and his dog get along fine. He also can't be on his feet long. IN some ways it is good to have interaction with another person but in other ways it is too much on me.

He got a chair out and sat while he let his dog have some outdoor time. I was concerned about his dog as javelina came thru one night we were there and his dog is little....but didn't tell him...need to bring the topic up if I am doing well enough to talk with him next time.

He did get out a small ball and toss it for his dog which Rosie ran after adn got.

I was kind of out of it but concerned about the size of the small ball so got out of the car and got the ball from Rosie.

he mentioned that the small ball was not good for larger dogs as they could choke on it.

So, when he got the small ball out again I decided it was time for us to go.

Seems like a nice guy and I would like to be aroun dothers. I just don't know how to and not let it maek my health worse.

I also got out of the car when he asked if he could give Rosie a treat. I needed to see what kind of treat it was.

he was aware that the treats from China were making dogs sick. He had beef jerky for humans he gave Rosie.

He invited me to sit down with him as he had another chair in the van....but I told him I couldn't sit.

Thinking I might just drive by next time if he is there and find another spot.

Kind of catch 22..it would be nice to be around others and he seems like someone I could be around but the talking thing and moving thing is a problem adn does make my health worse.

I was too weak to eat when I got back.

He said something about one of his legs not working because he had triple by pass surgery and they messed up his leg...since it was an emergency they took a vein (guessing) from his leg.

And that he had a kneew replaced in the other leg..he had a brace on it.

So, he wasn't able to be on his feet long either.

He asked me waht was wrong when I told him I couldn't sit in a chair.

I told him I was dx with lyme disease. He said something about ti messing up the whole body.

That kind of triggered a flash back. I think I have run inot him before only at a differenc post in that area and was able to get out of the car and sit on a rock for a short time and talk a little bit more as I was doing better back then.

Sun is starting to come up now and the noise of the air onditioning units under my window are staring up now too.

Can't type and have the noise. Brain can't handle it. ..need to find my peltor ear muffs and put tthem on..then hoping to come back and read what you all have been up too.

Able to wash inside of windshield on car and outside....when the sun hits the windshield i have not been able to see.

So, hoping this helps and a task I have wanted to have the health to do for a long time.

Resting now, but also hoping to fill the container in the car with the windshield wiper fluid.

Able to pour cleaning stuff on spots on carpet. Hoping to go back and scrub them too.

Tried to clean white board but the cleaning stuff I had was no better than water...need different cleaning stuff.

Went ahead and took two excedrin even though I did not have the inflamed brain this am. I just find it usually helps me to be able to do a few things..we shall see.

Hopefully I will be able to complete the above

Overcast this am. Nice.

getting the spots cleaned on the carpet has been something I have wanted to have the health to do for a long time also.

No water again at the apartments while they fix things that are broke.

It wasn't a problem yesterday and I stilll have water in the pans from yesterday.

kayak..hope you got a good night's sleep.

I have renamed the news..the bad news...and most of the time don't watch it...i dont' understand why they need to report the very small percentage of bad stuff.

I think they could at least report some good stuff with it. So many people doing good in the world.

Ok it is starting to heat up so most likely a good thing I did not drop the car off.

I also have my camping stuff in the car and don't like the idea of leaving it in the car while it is at the mechanics....

but taking it out is not an option and putting it back in

able to kind of scrub the spots on the carpet...pain in lower left side of intestines or ? is gone

but bloating is back..most likely from excedrin...

and that thing that happens every since i had the C section kept getting caught or twisted in my abdomen area while trying to scrub the spots

able to put some paper towels down to soak up some of the wet spots.

But, done in now...no more doins in that department.

Carpets really need cleaning but dont' have the funds. $100 to pay a local carpet cleaner to clean the carpets...and I need to declutter before they come...mostly the small room where I put the power chairs

Other areas would be good too..just havne't had what it takes to do it since I moved to this corner apartment in 2007.

Even with help I need to brain to work to decide whether to keep things toss things where to put things, etc...and that is rare it is working well enough to do so.

I would really like to downsize some more when able..not much of value left....but it would be good to still declutter

I have it in the back of my mind to get a trailer and hit the road. Live in the trailer for a while..but not sur ehow realistic that is.

Or if that is because of being housebound since 2001 for the most part.

I also was able to get some trash out of the car.

Mindboggling to me as to how sometimes health is doing well enough to do the multi moving and taskign to get trash out of car and then it goes a long time before I am able to do so again.

Most of the time I cam OK with getting in the car and just sitting and driving on the backroads as long as I go in the early morning or late evenings...brain doesn't ok with that.

I havent done much today. Been sleepy. I did a lot yesterday and took 5 drops of andro last night so maybe that is making me sleepy

I did go out early when it was cool to put the purple hanging plant
In a bigger pot-it was relly root bound and was needing 2 gallonsof water a day to keep from wilting...i hope it is happy andwill last awhule longer-its a really pretty plant

I have been slowly plugging away at putting things away...but i dont know if i'll finish tonight. I might have to take the neighbors somewhere. They do so much for me it feels good to help them out once in awhile

I feel like sleeping again! Guess i need it

Kam--you have been busy.

Pointermom--Golf is not my game, but so glad you are feeling so well to play.

Super busy at work--no time to exercise the past few days and I have been feeling toxic again. At least there will be no papers to grade over the weekend!

Off to Bible study.

Woo hoo... no papers to grade. I loved teaching but grading papers kept me SO BUSY!!!! I often had mountains of papers to grade when I first started teaching. Then I learned how to cut down on assignments like that!!

I dreamed of the day I could do evaluations and testing via the computer! I was hoping for the day when each kid had a computer on his/her desk and there would be no more paperwork! [Smile]

I went to the grocery store today and also to the health food store. It's getting to be a regular thing for me to be able to do my own shopping now. YEA!!

I also drove down to the cove (1 mile away) to take pictures. Can't wait to see how it will look when the fall color arrives!

Tutu--Unfortunately kids having computers does not cut down on the paperwork. It is very hard for me to sit and grade a kid's essay on the computer in google docs.

Takes longer and it sets off my myoclonus to be in front of the computer that long.

I will say in science as the year goes on I tend to collect one paper per group that they work on together--cuts amount of grading way down. Or I give a completion grade for their homework and we go over it together.

Can't wait to see your pics of the cove if you can post them.

Bible study was good tonight and we ended with ice cream--yes, I indulged.

Able to be on the trail last night. Logged in what time I left and what time I got back to car on cell phone but I'll need to check later.

Cell phone is in the other room and getting up to get it is too much this am so far.

Able to sit upright so chiro could do the Bio thing...yesterday.

I just sat at a computer with my hand on this large mouse like device as it scanned my hand.

Results show I was in the red for gallbladder and lungs.

I need to read the results again when able..she sent me an email with the results and ask her about them.

That was another thing I was surprised at coming from the corporate world to the educational world.

All the hours that one puts in on their own time...plus money...when i started working with the deaf and hard of hearing there were no supplies...just a classroom

I finally was able to order supplies then they disappeared...there was another teacher that came into the classroom..i can't recall the details as to why she had access to the classroom.

But, I assumed she took them.

But, most of the teaching supplies I used came out of my own pocket. Since I had grade levels form K to 8 I mostly did theme lessons.

It was fun. They helped each other.

Friday:

Able to pick up those paper towels that were covering the spots I cleaned kind of on the carpets.

Able to pick up a few things in the kitchen.

Seems like I did more as I am so worn out.

It is hot and humid here all ready this am at 8 am. Temperature on the web say it is 60 degrees out.

But, that can't be right....it feels much hotter than that. I bet if i turned the air conditioning unit on...which is set to keep the house 85 degrees ..it would come on this am.

Kam--my pillows are old, too, but I love them. I will not trade down for foam or any other kind of pillow.

Kids were good at school today, but I am exhausted.

Still very toxic. So toxic that my elbow and shoulder hurt again. I think the toxins get caught in the joints.

Took the parasite med for a week and stopped. May start again, but not for awhile.

Will be lazy tonight and save my energy for errands tomorrow.

I have an old pillow too. (not down) I have one of those dust mite covers too. I also wash the pillow from time to time. I CANNOT find a better pillow .. have looked for years.

hiker.. No, I would not like grading on the computer as you stated. My thought was in reference to a multiple choice type test. Something simple, like a history test. It could be programmed to be done by each student on his/her computer, then the test could be scored automatically. (??)

It wouldn't work for all grading. Carrying the papers around would be more convenient than having to sit in front of the computer to grade them!

Yes, kam... teaching involved so much of our own materials. I used to have nightmares about a fire or a storm destroying all my classroom stuff. My husband's school had a fire once. He got lucky because the band hall escaped, but the rest of the school was gutted.

We also lived near the coast for about 11 yrs and the school where I taught had been destroyed by Hurricane Carla in 1961. (I taught there from the late 70's to late 80's.) The school was only
about 20 miles from the Gulf.

tutu and hikder...every now an dthen i am able to wash the pilows and put them outdoors to dry....i really like the way they smell when they are air dried.

able to walk into pharmacy and get one refill.

still trying to get meds via the mail.

last i heard the doctor's assistant had sent my prescriptions to the one line pharmacy last Friday.

But, the on line pharmacy said they had not received them. Bugaboo.

caregiver has been making the phone calls.

she also has been in contact with the local doc i am trying ot make an appt with. i assume it is the doctor's receptionist that would not make the appt unless she had my date of birth.

office as closed today so caregiver said she would call them on monday.

i have left a couple of messages myself but not sure they got thru...brain was fogged in while trying.

i asked that she just leave a message on my land line for the appt date. primary care doc.

getting down the hill to see doc that will work with lyme specialist has been a problem so trying this one out.

tried NP and she closed business shortly after first appt. did not get a bill from her thankfully.

tried nuero she recommended in town and she closed business shortly after 1st appt.

did get a bill from her.

main thing is i am trying ot get the head stuff solved..hate that stuff.

It would also be good if I was able to be on my feet more. There is a condition called POTS or OI.........lots of problems to overcome.

but the head stuff is the only one that puts me in sucidie mode. while i am in it. changes chemistry in my brain

so hoping i can camp this week. hoping i can start to get the clothing bag and ice chests ready ...can't find rosie's other leash..hope it is in the camping stuff....

The forest trail was calling me so I went. Thankful I was able to be on it also. I did log in the time but don't have what it takes now to check it so I will do that later.

I do know that even after I got back Rosie still wasn't ready to get in the car so I reclined in the drivers seat while she explored some more.

Neighbor above me is vacuuming..my brain is having trouble typing this and hearing the noise so need to stop.

OK checking iphone

7: 35 to 7:54

but then Rosie was not ready to get in the car so stayed until 8:28..i reclined in drivers seat of car

Then followed a couple of yard sale signs past home and across town on back roads...did not stop at yard sales....just looked as I passed...didnt' see any reason to get out of car and be on my feet.

so good outing Good to get out of the apartment

I'll figure the time factor later..that part of the brain still struggles.

Glad you are able to get on the trail again, Kam.

LP--You are a cleaning/organizing inspiration--too bad it is not rubbing off on me--LOL

Did the usual grocery shopping this morning and stopped at the library.

Made some spaghetti sauce. My brother gave me home grown bay leaves and those made the sauce tasty.

Am now cooking a spaghetti squash for the sauce.

I managed a short walk today--still using the trekking poles, but a walk is a walk.

Watched Illini football and will probably sit out on the deck to read. Sunny and 70's today--quite gorgeous out.

We went to choir rehearsal this morning and had a meeting. Followed that with lunch with our pastor. My husband and I were in two cars. (long story)

I forgot to remind him that I would be stopping by the store before heading home. So I waited about 10 min to call him (allowing him time to get home.)

When I called he said there was a bad wreck and he had to help the people. I said OK and hung up.

Went to the store, came home and saw the ambulance and fire trucks at the entrance to our subdivision. Scary stuff. Did not see the car that was wrecked. (it was behind the fire trucks on the side of the road)

So I get home and ask hubby what happened. He said he came into our subdivision and was getting the mail (right inside the gated area.) He heard a LOUD crash and he thought I might be in the wreck since he thought I was right behind him, coming home.

He went out there and saw that a car had overturned on the slick road. He helped some others get the car flipped and then a nurse arrived and helped the man. The man was at least talking to them. Don't know how he is.

It's a really scary place at the entrance because people come flying down the hill and across a bridge there. My husband thinks the man was driving too fast and/or hydroplaned.

Hope the guy is OK.

So thankful that BOTH of us escaped. The guy could have hit either one of us head-on.

Cant wait for 70 s tomorrow-still close to 90 and tornado warning an hour south...it will be 3 rd one this summer if it touchrs down. Wierd.

I made more progress...so proud of myself. Scrubbed kitchen floor with tsp. No smell at all and it got so clean

Stashed painting stuff under daybed...only one room left to paint...its gonna be light lavender wihth deep forest green accents...its the exercise room...mostly black and grey equipbut my meditation chair is dark green...i found neat curtains and planned around tha. But it needs roof fixed first

I cant believe its 5 and not one raindrop yet. I need enough rain so bees and skeeters cant fly so i can put those purple plants in the ground before they totally die

I think i will nap til i hear the rain. It must be thundering all around us cuz i cant her it but etta keeps jumping up and dashing to me and tries to lie on my chest...she does that when shes scared

The rooms sound like they are going to be very pretty, kayak!

What is "tsp?"

It's downright cold here. I was going to sit out on my balcony and it was 66 degrees out there at 5 pm. I had to come inside since I had on capris and a short sleeved shirt.
