Im picky about docs and i hand picked these guys. Both are older, experienced and intelligent. I have worked with them two years and had many conversations. I never pushed the lyme thing...i want them for other things

But they used to say they were open to lyme probems and agreed no one really understood it or what to do

This time the vet insisted the only problem with his first line test(like an elisa) was it had too many false positives! So he has to do a second test(wb) to see if the first test was correct

He also strongly told me one dose of doxy is all that is needed in most cases for a cure

Then my primary got really upset...i think he swore about all the"non idsa" info being b s. It only means somethung if it is published in one of the good, reputable journals he said

Now that means he is only reading results and has no idea about critiqing the procedures etc

I was able to smoothe things over with these docs cuz i need them and have way more respect for them than the young kids coming out of med school with a palm pilot and no brain or real experience

But it makes me believe there is a very sophisticated plan to brainwash docs and vets

And our only hope is for a mainstream doc or his family or close friend to get lyme...and ecperience the whole thing themself

Thats how we got many of our great ilads docs...so sad but still after all these years so true

They want to be on the winning side. And the other side, the wrong ones, have all the cards. Just stating the facts. That any of us are still alive is a miracle and no thanks to them.

No, not the winning side. Truth will prevail.

They just want to save their own hides-protect their livelihood and save face in the current medical climate. And to do that, they have to ignore truth (the science is clear).

The vet one is surprising to me, as vets are better educated to know about the infections and treat them in the animals. They just seem to be more up on the issue to me.

Your PC is just doing what they all do. I had to find another PC - I went through several interviews before I found the PC - and I find it not only relaxing to have someone who gets it, but necessary, in order to talk about anything.

One suggestion: ask in your local support groups for referrals. Also on your state group.

Surprised to hear that about the vet.

You are right LP, they are being brainwashed.

The CDC here promised tick testing. Basically was going to gather ticks and test for percentage of lyme.

Been three years now waiting for the tick trials.
Feel like collecting 100 and hand delivering them.

I find ticks all the time, but can only be submitted through Health Canada by a medical doc or veterinary doc.

It IS brainwashing as you can't tell me the docs don't find ticks on themselves or their pets.

It's a crying shame.

I was more surprised about the vet also
Maybe what i read as angrr was really fear

I doubt very much that i can find better mainstream docs than these

I just realized they are both the owners of the practices

I bet they do know wht is going on and are poed they cant practice the way they used to...with someone respecting their knowledge and letting them make the decisions

If they do they will lose their practice

Your vet sounds pretty brainwashed .. or something.

I thought owning your own practice made it more likely for the Dr to THINK FOR HIMSELF. That is how it is with my Dr, but then, he's also had lyme and so has his daughter.

It seems weird to me that in the North East, nearly everyone has Lyme and yet down here (in MO) Lyme is given respect. I rarely have any trouble with it, though I do not press the issue and I have no idea what they say behind my back.

I even heard some residents talking about Lyme the other day and they seemed to be well aware of how bad it is. They were talking about "deer ticks" and I wanted to step in and tell them ANY tick can carry it. But they did seem to know that Lyme is prevalent in this area.

I know a doc i would love to have for my primary. I forget what you call him...hes an md but knows and uses a lot of alternative stuff. He actually worked with dr h for awhile but he doesnt advertise he is llmd...but he underst as nds lyme and is brilliant and keeps up with research

But he is four hours away...so it wouldnt make sense. He was myprimary for ten years tho. I miss him.

When i started going to my current primary he was very open to lyme and discussing the problems. Now two years later he acts like a different person...he sounds like the doctors in our local hospital that has been taken over by mass general

It is so sad...i see so many here with obvious lyme sx...even bullseyes and removing ticks and they are told onebdoxy pill will curr them and if it doe sd nt the problem.isnt lyme

For being so 'smart' they sure can be stupid.
