Ugh! November brings cold temps and then winter arrives.

SO gorgeous today and supposed to be 78 tomorrow, but by Halloween only 48 for a high.

Do you hand out treats on Halloween? Honestly, the past few years I usually turn off the lights and practically hide.

A few years ago I had older kids coming to my door with no costumes and I did not like that. It also hard for me to walk down the stairs every time the doorbell rings.

Guess I am a curmudgeon.

Enjoy the week. I got a lot done outside this weekend--felt good to do yard work etc.

Hurray! Glad you found the in stink gator.

Tried to get up and declutter bookshelves.

That did not work. Had to lay back down.

But, I did send an email to a neighbor who has been saving boxes I put outside my door when I get delivers for household products via on line.

I asked for a box so I will have something ot put the things in when I do declutter.

I will need to wait until later to go thru the things as health is not doing well enough.

Hoping to be able to declutter the bookshelves before they inspect the apartments.

It should be low priority and maybe it will be.

I do need to put away clothes that are in laundry baskets on the side of my bed first.

I need the floor space so I have more room to be on my feet.

I also called a person whose name was on the bulletin board to help with household chores etc.

She said she would come around 2 pm. It is 2:30 pm and she hasn't shown yet.

This is how things go around here.

REally nice weather here today...I think low 70s.

With overcast.

Able to sort thru a few papers I had laying on the bookshelves and then put the trash outside my hallway door for a neighbor to take out to the dumpster.

The dust is think on the bookshelves.

Maybe I will be able to put some of the laundry away this evening. It is dark out now.

Time to get up and close the blinds. Day is done.

Made it thru another day.

Good one, kam!! [Big Grin]

Kayak.. that is so awesome! How did you do that? I thought the handyman was going to do it?

hiker .. I love to see trick or treaters since I'm not around that many kids anymore. We just don't get very many anymore, so I gave it up a few years ago and turned my light out.

Most of the kids go to the larger neighborhoods or to one of the churches that does a "Trunk and Treat" in their parking lot.

Since we moved, I have no idea about what to expect. It's mostly elderly people here, but we do have kids and it would be a safe place to trick or treat. So maybe everyone's grandkids come here?

I have to find out soon!

We have a trunk or treat here. It is at the end of main street. SEveral people/businesses set up shop.

I was able to roll on down the street in my power chair several years back. it was fun.

Main street was also closed off so I could roll down the middle of the street in the power chair.

Health could not handle that now.

never heard of trunk or treat. interesting.

we don't get many kids.

I bought candy and little toys. was eating candy so I bought little bags and filled them and stapled them shut so I woulndt be tempted. I am so weak for sugar sometimes!!!

today I am making chex mix for my daughter at college who requested it. and I am going to atempt to make dog treats. my brother makes beer and he gave me the spent grains to make them.

I have so much I wanna do today. I hope I get a lot done before the big

fatigue attacks me

KAYAK, I am sooooo glad you got that stink out!!!!!!

I know how that can be such a terrible nuisance.

Lisa...your gonna get your dog drunk?

There wasnt anything under the hole the handiman cut so neighbors came over and cut a hole in next cupboard floor. Thats where we found the nest and it stunk

I havent been feeling great so it is tking a long time to get ready for friend to finish bedroom floor. Im almost done

I got a storage 2 miles from house and have taken one load there

I put about 8 lite totes in truck and then two lite pieces of sauna on top-the sauna comes apart and snaps together. I cant move the pieces that have electronics in them but the others i can

It was so nice out and etta was having fun chasing leaves so i let mysef do that. I was really lucky toget the storage...there was only one without driving far

I hope i move one more load and then it wil l be easier to organize carport and shed

I dont have a power chair and when i walk etta down the road i have to go backwrds. My hands still hurt a lot and my knees hurt when i go forwards but if i push bsckwards i can do it

I live on a quiet dead end road so it is safe. I can picture you going to trunk and treat kam! I bet it was fun

What's nice about the Trunk or Treat is that it's so much safer. Not as much walking, no annoying of the neighbors; many benefits all the way around.

They often have face painting and games, punch .. the whole nine yards.

Hubby got 3 small orders done today, and fixed the golf cart. Took it for a short spin around the house.

I did the laundry - hung it all outside on the lines. Beautiful fall day!

Cooked 3 chickens - picked the meat off the bones - want to make gluten free, egg free chicken croquet's.

Mmmmmm MannaMe you are making me hungry.

Sonny just left for the bus. I am a little worried about him.

He gets sick still, even though llmd cleared him of tick disease.

He is pale. and doesn't eat right. and very tired. am I just worrying too much?

I made the dog treats last night.

should have started early in day. once i got going i had to keep going and i didn't realize they take hours to cook!

I only made like 1/8th of dough. there were so many grains.

kayak, they contain no alcohol. [Big Grin]

my dog LOVED them. I wont' give her too much because I like to give her grain free diet

I am going to try and sell them. along with the dog bandanas.

feeling very sick from treatment today so I hope I get things done.

my mind is working and telling my body what to do but it won't listen! haha

Able to pull the dirty sheets off of the bed. Caregiver is here now.

I had trouble deciding which things to have her do the hour she is allotted.

She cleaned up in the kitchen, is cooking some spaghetti for me to reheat later, vacuuming...next i hope she will be putting clean sheets on the bed.

I wanted to get to the grocery store but i need to go with her...wasn't doing well enough.

maybe tomorrow morning i will be doing well enough to pick up a few things.

it seems i no longer have those times in the morning when i am able to do a few things, rest and do a few more things until about 9 am...then i am down for the count.

But, I will keep wtg..hopng health improves enough to do so.

Ah yes. I was finally able to put away a few clothes this am...which helped get two laundry baskets off of the floor next to my bed....

safer now with more floor space to walk around...but i still need to clear up more floor space around the apartment when health allows

Kam...did you say you applied for new service dog?

I am upgetting meds in...i forgot them last nite. Im surprised i slept but i sure feel it today. A few of the things i moved to storage yestetdsy were probably over 20 lbs

I am a little nervous cuz friend will be here for floor todsy or tomorrow and it looks so bad. She is the one who has done the most on the house and all the decorating. Every time we finish a room she is so excited. I like function. She likes things to lolook
od

But when i move into a new room , i have to mess up the one she finished. And that makes her sad

Its worse cuz i still csnt really use crpet room...so two rooms are torn up and two rooms arefull of stuff

And kitchen is waiting for a plan to redo bottoms of closet

Kayak...yes. I applied with the same organization that I got Rosie from.

The original owner contacted me and told me just to let her know when I am ready.

So far, Rosie is doing fine and all is well.

I just wanted to get on the waiting list as last time I was on it for 3 years or more before they had a dog available.

I am not strong enough right now to walk to the kitchen adn back without total exhaustingon and confusion and brain fog.

Getting up to take a couple of excedrin. Hope that helps. Pressure in brain is bldg.

Maybe I can lay on the lounge chair outside of my aarptment door ...but guessing that will not work...the traffic noise form the heighway usually is too much for me and the cigarette smoke from my neighbor sitting on her patio is not do able.

So sorry to hear that you are still not doing well, kam. Hang in there. Be sure to eat as much as you can and push the fluids.

What is the next step toward obtaining more caregiver time?

Another beautiful day here!
Dug up the canna lily bulbs and the dahlia bulbs. We have a box full of each kind.

Also dug up the african lily bulbs - planted two this spring. Have two big bulbs, 3 small bulbs and lots of little baby bulbs.

Brought in the last of the onions, carrots, red beets and zucchini. Now the garden is ready to plow.

Didn't get around to digging up the calla Lilies.

All the flower bulbs were given to us from others extras - Looking at prices in the seed catalog - they are expensive!!

I'm amazed at how much the bulbs multiplied. Maybe we should sell some!

Able to take a shower last night. I hadn't been able to take a shower since I was in the hotel room on the make my health worse trip.

Able to empty the smaller trash cans into the kitchen trash can and put the trash outside my hallway door. A neighbor then takes it to the dumpster for me.

First time health has been well enough to do this too. I always find it mind boggling when health is doing well to do "normal things"

There is so much to moving about. This time the brain was talking to the limbs, vision was OK, ADD did not kick in, no heart beat pounding, but I did have difficulty with breathing and exhaustion. Resting now then hoping to get up and take Rosie out to toilet.

Whew...i am tired and resting now. My friend put down bedroom floor and helped me put dressers and bed backin. I will sleep i my bed tonight. I hope this means i will sleep without knee pain

The rest of the house is a mess...but i can start putting things where they go now at my own speed

I have had dental pain getting worse. A lot of work was done last winter and one crown was left that i dont have money for. Still dont have money but pain is getting pretty bad. It feels like it is moving to bone and that is scarey

I will have to see if neighbors can help me take last 3 pieces of sauna to storage. My friend is coming back to help me with hanging curtins. And i have to figure out how to cover the holes under the cupboards...AND there is a possibility of SNOW saturday so i have to be sure outside is ready for that

My health is getting worse scary fast...esp neuro twitches and pains and muscle spasm...but i have my bed back before nov 1 st...that was my goal. And very soon im going shopping for better food and that can become a priority again

Im also really enjoying bryans new book. It is so calming for me. You know that saying, "the teacher will appear when the student is ready'? I feel like its like that

Able to get to the grocery store this am. WEnt to get organic coffee and a coffee pot...but came home once again without either.

But, did get food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and some bean chips and avocado dip.

The lunch and dinner is if I am doign well enough to bake the checken or cook the hanburger paddy.

If not, I will eat breakfast 3 times a day

And the chips and organic avocado dip.

I was pretty out of it while in the grocery store but go the job done.

Glad to see the grocery store had ordered 2 new elec carts...the ones with the handles I like taht is a bit less painful on the body.

It is kind of a catch 22 when there isn't much water in the bucket.....loading my power chair, unloading it, loading it back up and unlaoding it...takes more water in the bucke tthan walking th efew steps into the store and getting in an elec cart.

My power chair is much easier to drive while in the store but ...

I think if I had a van the loading and unlading would be less tasking on the body.

I inquired about a truck with a lift to put the power chair in the back....but I would need to try one out to see.

A local business that puts in these things recently had a demostration along with all the different ways of transporting a power chair.

But, it was down the hill and my health couldn't handle going down there and being there to check things out.

That would be the best way to learn which would work best for me.

The less movement and the less time on my feet would work best for me.

Sounds like everyone is having a productive week.

Pete came over to mow my lawn and the old mower gave up her ghost part way through the mowing.

I broke down and bought a new one after work. It is gas powered but has an electric start, so now I can actually start it and may be able to mow some myself when I have energy.

Actually a good time to get a mower as it was on sale.

Very cold here and supposed have a hard frost with 40 mph winds tomorrow. No mowing tomorrow. Maybe I will have energy on Sat or Sun.

I have been thinking that my filtered water (Travel Berkey) has smelled funny lately. I took a sample of water from it and a sample of my tap water to the energy healer.

I did not tell her which was which. She felt one sample of water was unsafe for me to drink and that my metal toxicity was from that. That sample was the filtered water. I think the filters have some aluminum in them.

So, I will be drinking tap water for awhile.

She could not find anymore yeast to kill--yippee!

My legs have felt like lead all week. I think the body doesn't know it is well and just keeps reacting to items it should not react to.

kam. "bean chips and avocado dip."

that is exactly what I ate for dinner last night! along with some rfried black beans.

it really hit the spot.

today I woke at 5.

I went on computer right away to 'catch up', but that never happens.

I hope today is productive. I didnn't take my tx again last night and I feel so much better. I will probably start it on Monday I guess. [Frown]

tired of feeling sick and tired.

last night I moved some of my crafts to another booth at the place that I sell things. this is an experiment to see if the other location is any good.

the owner is letting me try the second booth rent free for November!

if this doesn't work than Iwill have to pull out. the rent is just too high for me

I took a bunch of stuff to the indoor auction . it is usually a nice chunk of change I get each month from that.

I met a woman and we got talking ..... all about LYME!! she was so intersted. I think God sent her to me. I was just praying about how I needed help getting through

and there was this woman. she asked a zillion questions and it wsa just so nice to let it all out in such a pleasant way.

the answer to my prayers. I have no one to talk to about all this in my life. no one family is even interested.

Time to find my full face mask for those morning outings at dawn to toilet Rosie via the power chair. Just got back and my face is hurting and still defrosting.

But, I did enjoy the color of the clouds this am at sunrise.

Took a couple of excedrin but it doesn't seem to be helping...i might have been bettter off without it this am...tough call.

i was hoping it would help me to be able to get in the car and get ou fo the apartment...but so far...nada

Hilarious Halloween day at school. The kids dressed up.

First chuckle. In walks a student dressed as a banana. She sits down in her regular seat next to a girl dressed as a monkey. Too funny.

Then I asked a student what rap star he was dressed as.

His reply, "I am a pimp."
So, I asked, "Do you know what a pimp is?"
His answer, "No."

I pulled him aside and quietly explained to him what a pimp is.

He responded, "I am a rap star."

Home now from work and I intend to be lazy for the evening.

Happy Halloween.

Well i didnt check in this morning cuz i ws getting ready for my exciting day. Once i got the heating pad nd all my supps in i slept fine for 7 hrs. Then i woke with horrible pain again like ice pick into ear. I took ibu, nrurontin, fish oil and curcumin and it took the edge off. I got o docs sure i had an awful ear infection and she couldnt see anything wrong with ear. She was tlking about syroke and bells and wantef an ambulance to take me to e r i talked her out of the ambulance and drove myself.

They were great. I went to a different hospital than i usually go to. They did a lyme test cuz i had that nymph crwling on me judt in case. They said nothing looked like lyme or stroke and they were sure it wss tri gem and i needed stronger med. I have to look at bottle. Its anti seizure drug that starts with T.

They gave me one at hospital...she looked it up and said no intetactions with what i took

I feel. Litte dizzy and my face is numb in spots. I came home and yrd.guy was here and we might wake up to snow so i worked outsidewith him for a couple hours

Im tuckered out now but still no pain

Probably rest now...get ready to shovel in the morning. Hehe.

The alarm on my bladder goes off before the cobwebs clear up enough for me to get up.

That and letting the cat out this am made the heart pound and just being on my feet was difficult enough.

I was able to put food in the dog and cat bowls and water in the lemon drink pitcher.

need to go back when able to add the lemons, sea salt, and honey...cucumbers from yesterday are still OK so I don't have to slice more cucumbers.

Hoping to be able to take a shower today..can't recall when I was able to take one last but hair really needs shampooing as well as the sticky off of the body.

Ordered cat and dog food from Amazon. Free shipping and cost is a bit less than purchasing it locally.

It also is much easier on the health to have it delivered.

Amazon page said I ordered the products last on Aug 1st. Cool if true. That means the bags lasted me 3 months??

Hungry this am. Would like to make an omelet but know that is not do able.

NOt doing well enough to boil water yet this am so I can make a cup of tea.

OK This is wearing me out just typing this so need to stop.

Rosie and I cruised across the field and window shoppped in the shopping center next door at dawn this am.

I usually don't go to the field as they have a chain across the entrance which is tricky for me to get under in the power chair...the chain was on the ground thsi am...wish it was like that all the time..makes it much easier to go into the field.

1st time I have been that way in a long time.

2 new businesses. 1 old one closed down. Not much in the shipping center...movie house, 2 restaurants for dinner and lunch, coffee shop taht was not open at dawn, print shop and a gym.

I miss the pharmacy that I use to go to in that shopping center. They went out of business. [Frown]

Better service there than any of the other pharmacies in town.

Able to write the check for rent. So thankful the check order came in time. I was completely out of checks.

But, goofed up and put the rent check in the box for work orders. Not a big problem. Sent an email to the mgr to let her know.

I'd like to be able to do more this am but not so sure what I can do....most likely will need to veg now. Almost noon.

I'd like to give Rosie and I a shower..maybe if I lay here and atch a moive then I will be able to get up and take a shower. We'll see.

What a hilarious picture of the kids dressed as the elderly for Halloween! Thanks for the laugh, Kam.

I had one trick or treater last night--40 mph winds and 28 degrees did not make for a good night for the kids to be out. Frankly, I had my lights off and I did not get up to answer the door.

Did the grocery shopping this morning. Seems like now I have to go to several stores to get what I want. I used to just go three blocks to the store, but their produce and their prices leaves a lot to be desired.

Grabbed the ladder to reach the kitchen clock to change the time. Realize how weak my legs were as I could hardly balance.

So, I went for a 20 minute brisk walk with my trekking poles. That was so good for my soul. The leaves are simply gorgeous and will be falling fast now.

I really need to strengthen my legs and arms and I feel a bit more hopeful today as I do not feel toxic. Maybe it really was the filtered water not being safe to drink.

I was astounded when I cleaned out the stainless steel holder of the Travel Berkey how much grey powder was at the bottom and it turn the dishrag black. Definitely something wrong there. I will just drink tap water from now on even though I think it has too much fluoride.

I wish we did not have the time change. That means I will be heading to work in the dark and coming home in the dark.

Now, I really want to get back to walking and exercising outside, so the time change will not help me.

Will spend the rest of the day puttering around the house. Prayer service at church tonight and then Illini football on T.V.

Read all of the above... Hiker had some funnies earlier!

Cute pic, kam!

Kayak.. Glad you are feeling better after that trip to the ER. Try to behave now and get some rest.

Had a super fantastic day, but I am bushed!!

We had our Operation Christmas Child Packing Party and it was a huge success! We packed more than 100 boxes! Whew! Then we followed that with pizza.

I spent most of my time overseeing things and folding more boxes. They come flat and we had prepared 50 of them, but that was NOT ENOUGH! Yippeeee!!

I only got to pack one box! [Frown]

Something funny happened! I had set out two boxes of crayons and 3 boxes of markers so the kids could color some greetings to include in the boxes.

They were on a separate table, but somehow in all the packing, they were picked up and given away! LOL .. Someone in Mozambique or India (OR...) will get some used markers and crayons and won't care one single bit! [Big Grin] [lol]

One of the parents went to buy more markers tonight for tomorrow's Sunday School .. so funny!
