Brain is befuddled so trying to recall what I have been able to do this am. Able to make a cup of french press coffee (need different brand of coffee as it wasn't that good)

Able to fill the sink with dirty dishes and then wash them after I rested. Able to clean out the inside of the garbage disposal.....yuck.

Put one load of clothing in. Time to get up and put them in the washer.

Used small power chair to wash dishes which worked out much better this am vs trying to stand at the sink.

Posted sign in lobby of apartments to get suggestions for a list of doctor's who take medicare in my area. Learned I can not get a supplemental plan but can get what is called an advantage plan.

Kam--thanks for starting this week's thread.

Went to church this morning. Powerful sermon.

Odds and ends this afternoon--laundry, cooking, pulled in hose from backyard, and repotted a few plants indoors.

Managed another short walk today.

Time for some relaxation.

I barely was ready when friend came to do curtins. She is such a perfectionist! She sees all kinds of things i dont. The office, livingroom and dining area curtains look great. She also put up hooks for coats near back door. And a few pictures. Then she started going thru my totes and found knick knacky things to put places...then she moved daybed and futon and small rables and chairs. Its not toally clutterfree...but really looks good

She made a list and is coming back tomorrow. I may not get out of this chair til she gets here. She wears me out but i am so happy with the work she does

Im really sleepy but wind is howling and everytime i doze off etta wakes me barking at wind monsters

Im so much better after trip to e r but not 100% yet. Still get occasiinal stabbing pain in head

Hope everyone is doing well

weekend was a bust. Sat. I did nothing. I had chills. sore, all that . I thought I had kidney infection or something. I had all the sx, but

am feeling better now. can they just go away on their own? what else can it be? maybe dehydration.

Sunday I felt better and cooked a lot. my husband liked that. ha.

I am cramming all I can in today since I did nothing I planned for weekend. I wan to do flea market tomorrow.

I am going to sew a bunch today and bake dog treats to sell.

I hope I can stay on track!

ADD is up and running thsi am. I keep trying to get up an do something but not able to do much.

Was able to get one small trash can emptied ainto kitchen trash and then put outside of hallway door for neighbor to take to dumpster.

And get the liner into kithen trash can...sometimes I have to wait on that as I am so exahsuted.

Also abe to put cat scratch tape on one door way ...washed and dried area first,

Then put cat scratch post near the area..not sure it wail stay there as it is right at the front door..not sure if it will work out so i can get in and out with power chair and Rosie until I try it a few times.

need to get the other areas cat has been suing taped off too. Sure hope tape stays in this cold weather. adn heat..even the duct tape as come off in the past that was wrapped around the plastic do hickey that they put around the sink pipes..stryofoam I think..but duct tape woud not stick and styofoam kept coming off..so just adked maintenace guy to leave them off.

Able to type out letter to friend and address envelope. Need to clear seat of power chair so I can get down teh hallway in the power chair and put the envelope in the mail.

I have been trying to get a letter off to her for over a month. Her birthday was last month.

Not able to sign the card.

I think taht is going to be it for the morning ..it seems whatever I try this am only makes heath worse so need to veg. adn get the ice packs.

I need to get up and close the front door as I dont' want to have the smell of my neighbors cigarett smoke coming in all day today.

It was not until alate int he vening that I realized it was not my imagineation and tht I had left eh front door open

I wondered why I kept smelling cigarette smoke...my bedoom window was closed but so were the blinds so I could not see that the outside door was open

and health was too out of it to figure things out

OK I have 3 corners covered that the cat used to scratch.

Need to get cat nip to put on the cat scratching post and hope that works.

But, vitacost is out of the cat nip I want to get at this time.

Able to make a pitcher of the lemon drink..used the cucumbers that were still in it and the mint...need changing but will have to wait until health is doing well enough to slice some more cucumbers

able to type up work order adn get it down the hallway and get that envelope to my friend in the mail ...able to clean off one of the power chairs so i could use it to get down the hallway..

able to open an envelope from auto insurance comapny..it had my cards in it so glad I did not toss it..i usually toss most of the mail i get from te insurance company..they send mail monthly and usually it just needs to be put in the trash

Same with AAA memebership..need to check and make sure I did not toss the renewal for towing in the trash...they do not send updated cards unless you request one

I did get a letter about paying a bit more and upgrading to premium and something about if you get sick they will reimburse you for the hotel room.

i need to look into this..this might be a good idea if I read it correctly for those of us with lyme who can't get to point a all the time and need to stop at a hotel along the way because of health.

I sabotaged myself and ate pizza Sat and Sunday and feel horrible today. At least I think it is the pizza. A lot of my students are getting intestinal flu.

Am going to ride my exercise bike for a little bit. Too windy to walk outside and I am not sure my legs could make it too far, anyway.

Sure hope you dont get the flu hiker. My dil teaches first grade and was pretty sick friday-she said all her kids are sick

Kam you have so much going on. I love my new cat. He has a house at the end if the road but he comes by a few times a day tomake sure no mice ir chiomunks come back

It was hard to get moving this morning after doing so much with my friend yesterday. But i did. I took nine totes to storage(only two were heavy) before she got here. And i spread mulch on my new flowerbed. And loaded the light parts of sauna.

Then with her we took rest of sauna to storage, filled in holes we cut under cubboards to get mouse nest out, and fixed a hole in kitchen floor

Planned what she would do next time and said good bye

And the goat came. Ran into the yard. I locked the gate...i live near a really busy intersection...he ate so much stuff and climbed on my propane tank before she came back with his owner

And i found out someone-a person-might have given etta something contageous....ppl can give to dogs but dogs cant give to ppl....???

And then i realized i dont have my liscense...i might have left it at E R last week. If i dont find it...i cant vote

So i took a nap...and now im ready for bed

I realize im sunburn and i wasnt supposed to be in sun with this new med...no one told me but it says it on the bottle

A GOAT?? That's a new one! [Big Grin]

Kam.. please get moving on getting more caregiver help. You really need it. It would enable you to relax and rest a bit.

[group hug]

Hiker.. I so hope you do not have the intestinal flu. I have heard that it's going around TX, but not here yet.

Lisa.. Maybe you had a kidney stone? You can pass small ones and not know it.

I had a great day. We worked on the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Tried to make sure they had needed items and then labeled them. I called my dentist's office and asked for a donation of 20 toothbrushes and they said yes!

Then I forgot to go by to get them. I was running all day long. I will pick them up tomorrow morning on my way to Bible study. It is our last session. It was really good and I will miss the other members of the study. I have new friends!

I bought a few sweatshirts and tops and I will need them in the morning as it will be cold and rainy. Will make it harder to go vote, but I will do it!

Kayak.. Hope you can find your ID!

OK. Able to fill out voters registration again. This time they had my address typed in and name, etc.

So, hoping ti takes this time.

I moved down the hall several years ago and have sent in updated info several times.

even got back a note saying info had been updated.

But, still haven not been able to vote as they have my old apartment number on record.

Hoping it takes this time. Next step is to get in my power chair and go down the hall to mail it.

Just noticed I still have on my clothes form the past few days on.

Slept in them last night.

So don't need to get dressed this am. [Smile]

Kind of out of it this am. Must have been kind of out of it last night too.

Tutu..i think the best bet to get more caregiver help is to come up with the $1500 to $3,000 to see the LLMD.

Then, I am not even sure how things will go for treatment..how much medicare will pay and how much I will need to pay.

Working on getting what is called the medicare advantage plan now.

CAn't get a supplemental plan in AZ until I am 65.

I have been trying to get more caregiver help since I moved here in 2005. I had 40 hours a week when I lived in CA.

LLMD got the help for me in CA.

So hoping that this LLMD will have what it takes to get the help needed and the testing will help with the documentation needed.

IN the meantime, I have been trying to find someone to hire for an hour or two once a month...but that hasn't been sucessful yet.

Last person said she would be here Sunday at 2 pm...two sunday's ago. She was a no show.

AS have been so many others in the past...i am not the only one...many have told me they have trouble getting people just to show up.

Saw cat scratching on doorway this am in bathroom.

First thougth was that putting tape on the doorway didn't do any good.

But, then I realized it was the other side. So, need to put tape on the other side of the doorway.

Most likely will need to put tape on all doorways.

Hoping to be able to get catnip and put on cat scratch post and that works. So far, cat has no interest in cat scratching post.

Noticed post is not as stable as doorway an that it does have movment if you put pressure on it.

So put books on top of cat post hoping to make it a bit more stable..but it still had movement.

REad article that cat will not want to use it if if moves.

CAt post I have is the one that was recommended in the article.

If I see local primary doc, I know if I tell them my symptoms they will want me to get an MRI and other testing which I have done in the past.

And I will need to pay out of pocket about $1,000 or more for testing they most likely will not help....as it didn't in the past.

So thinking that using the funds to see a LLMD is the best at this point although she may want me to get those tests again since they were done in 2001 to 2003.

You don't have the luxury of waiting that long. Find a DR closer to you who can do this for you. You need help NOW.

Woke with the head stuff. Took 2 excedrin. It helped. Able to put baking soda on floor as I read somewhere it helps. CAregiver is coming today I hope to vacuum floor.

Able to pick up a few things at the grocery store. ONly there est 10 or 15 min before I felt like tossing my cookies and knew it was time to check out and get home and lay back down.

But, at least I have food in the house now...I think. Caregiver will cook some GF spaghetti for me and chicken thighs. And make two pitchers fo the lemon drink.

I have not been doing well with being able to eat lately so hoping things will improve this week.

Also took Rosie out on a dirt road about 2 miles out of town off of the highway...wanted to clean out the engine a bit....also read it is good to go 55 mph for a bit if one usually only goes 25 mph in town.

Rosie had a short outing as she found some kill from hunters of what they had left behind. I forget sometimes which areas allow hunting and which don't around here...sometimes it doesn't matter...we have found kill in non hunting areas too.

OK Washed the dishes. Took chicken out of oven that caregiver coooked. ATe a thigh and put rest of thighs in container in frig.

Able to wash Rosie bowl..but I go so long in between scrubbing them that they have the calcium built up on them now

Not smooth like they use to be Stainless steel bowls.

REsing now..then might head out in power chair to the pharmacy..we'll see.

Gee kam. Youve got a lot going on. 15 yrs ago my llmd wanted me on iv. He wrote 3 letters to insurance and i had really good insurance but he couldnt get me approved. I wonder if it is a state thing. Is it easier if you are in ca? I know a lot of low income issues are different in different states. I also know many near me have problems when they live in one state and llmd is in a different state

I really think your primary is your best bet to get helpers. It is not based on illness...it is based on what you can and cannot do. This has been talked about a lot on here. In regard to
ss disability. I tried to explain it awhile ago too. I can understand you not understanding what i say...but there are ppl here who know /work for ss disability

Bottom line-you are better off with ms or parkinsons dx cuz if you base it on lyme dx they will just say a few weeks of abx will cure you. Llmds dont hold any weight many places.

In my state if someone required 40 hrs helpers they would say they have ti gi in nursing home. I think the requirements likely have changed in ten yrs also

I wont talk about this again. I dont seem able to explain it correctly

Kam--A general MD should be able to get you more caregiver hours. If the doc truly evaluates you and you have documentation of what you can and cannot do, it's a no brainer.

But then, some docs have no brain.

Stayed home from work today. The virus never fully developed. My immune system is so hyped up it kills the germs quickly, but the toxins get me.

I had so many muscle jerks yesterday and this morning I gave up and stayed home. I hate missing work and I don't have a lot of sick days for this kind of thing.

Prefer to save my sick days for my elderly parents. Grr.

I did go vote--not much of a choice for governor here. Both candidates are awful.

I went into work later this afternoon to grade papers and get lessons ready for tomorrow.

Dinner time now.

Unfortunately in AZ, the county is limited on how many hours they can give you a month.

Unless you are approved for what is called Long Term cAre. I come up short in that department and have with all the MD's I have had.

I have applied many times for this program and been denied since I moved to aZ in 2005.

I had a lot of pain last night-mostly from work i did on house i think. I didnt get to sleep til 4. I woke at noon and found my lost liscense and voted , got a few groceries on the way home...and ive just been lying around and snoozing. I didnt get the few outside things done that i wanted to. Etta really needs a bath. She was outside a lot the two days i was working on house. That and getting my supps back where they belong will be chores for tonight. Im supposed to drive 40 min in my rickety old truck to see new shoulder doc. I just realized it will be dark when i come home...and its back roads with leaves. If i have any excuse in the morning i will probably postpone it. I still feel really tired

Hiker...im glad you didnt get full blown flu. I found out my dil isnt 100% but she is teaching so she didnt really get it either.

Hope everyone is ok. So voting and a few groceries were only exercise. I want to get back to real exercise

hiker, my daughter had that virus and she is a student teacher- all the kids were getting it.

lymetoo, maybe you are right! I thought a stone, but didn't think maybe a tiny one. boy, if that was from a tiny stone, I never want a big one!

I still have flank pain though although it's not as bad, but all the other sx left.

the local place was givnig them for free so I did it.

my other friend , a nurse, says I can't get breast cancer becasue I breast fed 3 kids. ?? but I also rememebr hearing that a tick bite can cause cancer and I had a tick with a EM on my breast.

mamos sure have changed in 10 yrs! haha.

previous tech was also very mean! and the machine slab was cold metal!

so yesterday I did flea market. got there latebecasue I waited til my kid was off to school. it was so full it was crazy. only a couple tables left- and this place has hundreds of tables!

I made good sales- not fabulous, but I sold some of my functional art, which is wooden boxes, and other decor items. so that made me so happy.

If I could make tons of my art I know I could live off it, but alas.....

I just picked daughter's car up form her university to drive it to get tires about 30 min north of me.

that is only place I could get stupid tires! seems they are not going to make them any more!!! time to unload this heap. we alrady sank $4000 into it with these tires costing 160$ EACH!!! adding to the money pit.

car guy says now it will be almost impossible to get these tires since out of production so it's time to sell this car. how do I do that?

we have no credit, can' t get loan. MIL had to sign for our current car loan. and we can barely afford that one!

WOE IS ME

Thx Lisa.

Laying here wondering if I have what it takes to take a shower and give Rosie a shampoo. I think not. it would only make the pressure in the bran worse.

Maybe later today.

I was able to drop a note off to the cable company about eh touter not working...but when I got back it was working.

Ugh. I would have preferred to use what little health I had this am to pick up some kfir to swallow my pills.

Taht is if they have some kefir in now. I have never lived anywhere where things frequently are not in stock and you have to go back.

The outing did me in. Trying to recover. Need to get up and get ice packs.

Lisa-maybe we should talk. I nursed four and got a small breast cancer. I chose lumpectomy and five days high dose radiation...it is still a blur-the tx...when they tell you you have it something happens to your brain-your thunking

You really need to research the other side...i wont remember it here...niw...i have a book and something on tape

There is a lot of contriversy...hispitals wanting to make money...pissibility of tx making cancer worse

You really cant trust them...im just saying...its like lyme. Many docs want to give us steroids. If we take them we get worse. And cant change it. I am luving with what i did...i dont totally regret it but i wish i knew more before i made decision

Pm me if you want books, etc of where to read about this

I feel wierd. I think it is the new med tutu. I see my primary tomorrow for follow up after er. I postponed shoulder doc today...too far for the way i feel.

Im waking up slow. Going thru some totes. Found my remote in a basket if supps! Yipee! That will make my life easier. I like ti be in control of NOT watching commercials

Its warm out...i think i will try to transplant a little so front yard is ready for winter

There were surveyers here yesterday. A water project the tiwn did before i mived here was done wrong. They have to redo it. Im afraid they are going to ruin the flower bed i put in. There are about six shrubs that cost a lot for me. I want more info before freeze. I will pay my guy to move them. But i dont want to do it if idont have to

Im ready to just cruise...no more decisions for awhile. I dont even know who ti talk to. This town govt is kinda wierd

I hear my flowers calling! Hope everyone has a good day

ok kayak. I hear ya. I am on the same page. theonly way I wouldn't research is if they said I had a week to live or something and then I would probably just pray for a miracle.

no, .... I probably would still research , 'cause that's just me.

this is same reason I don't think everyone needs a mamongram every year- since the same people that hold the patents for those machines make the cancer drugs.

they want us all sick I think.

If I hear nothingby next week then I am supposedly had a 'normal' mamo.

Thetruthaboutcancer.com is a video that was free for a day last week. Catgirl and i have it. Its long but hones in on the money made on cancer tx...when sime of the tx actually gives you cancer

My memory is bad but if catgirl doesnt remember more i will go back and watch it for you. Thru my tx i kept getting hints that i shouldnt be doing it...but once you jump on that train its hard to get off

I just think its really important for everyone dealing with this to really educate yourself. And it is more helpful to learn about it before you actually find something. When you find something ...well...its hard to think

Take care...let me know if you need info frim that video

Back at work today and legs were totally dead.

However, I did get on my exercise bike after work as that is easier than walking. Figured it my help me sweat out the viral toxins.

Would have been a great day to walk outside as tomorrow and the rest of the week it goes downhill. 60 today. 40 for a high tomorrow.

Hang in there everyone. Sounds like we are all going through a rough patch, but we will get through it. [group hug]

kayak.. Since you were not previously taking neurontin every day, you might be able to get by on less than that. I would never make it on that much either. It's also probably not safe to do so.

Talk to your Dr as needed!! Find the dosage that is right for your situation.

Went to hubby's gig today and all was well. We even had some repeat customers, so that is good!

Will go to our church tomorrow to help with the garage sale. Proceeds will go to our Thanksgiving and Christmas "baskets" for the needy.

We sponsor 6+ families and take them everything they need for a big dinner. We also provide toys and clothing for the kids.

Still detoxing--ugh! I just want a normal immune system. I would rather have a cold or flu than these symptoms.

Wonder what would calm my immune system down. Today I had a few sneezes and a runny nose, but then it all turned into my neuro imbalance etc.

I did ride the exercise bike after work--am up to 15 minutes. Boring, but good for me.

Hiker have you ever used elderberry? I take 15-25 drops in greentea when ever i start with sneeze or sniffle...it seems to make the bugs go away and i dont go into real flu

Tutu-doc looked it up on computer and said best way to take neurontin is 600 mg every 8 hours

But im pretty sure i'll be sleeping a lot of the time if i take that much. The e r doc wanted me to take the new tegretol along with the nerrontin.

I might just have to take the high dose til pain goes away and then back to 600-900 most of the time

I sang yesterday . went to a funeral of a priest that was dear to me and decided to join the choir that I used to sing with there for the funeral mass.

It was hard, but felt good.

it's amazing how people just can't wrap themselves around lyme even if you try and explain it. the other choir members , I mean.

and someone I know later that I ran into- every time I see him he asks me..."Boy, all of your family affected! where the heck could you all have gotten that?!"" !!!! UGH.

I keep telling him everyone has it- then he goes off on his TWO daughters that just happen to have MS. and how that is just like lyme and how horrible MS is.

I just wanna scream

I ran around and did a bunch of errands after that. and ran al lday... plus made a nice dinner.

I did a lot yesterday, but singing took the most out of me. it is hard work if you do it the right way.

Of course they called aobut my mammogram yesterday and I wasn't home.

I calle dback but it was too late, the person left that calle dand they said I could only talk to her.

is that strange? worrisome?

Lisa...i know just what you mean about the guy with the kids with ms

My kids who have been successfully txed are in denial, my ex who has it and is in denial ... but blames all his health problems on somerhing and his new wife who developed parkinsons shortly after they married!

I cant describe rhe feelings i have when everyone is so worried about the new wife and her sx and side effects

I am learning to just let the feelings roll off...its like karma for himto have not aacknowledged. I was sick...and then marry her and rhe whole family is in a tizzy cuz she cant work...

I couldnt not work cuz he made so little $ and had no benefits

So i let it roll off....and go on

But i hear you lisa. Its like getting zapped when someone says something likethat. And it happens over and over

plus, kayak, I want to scream that it MIGHT be or what I think PROBABLY is lyme!!!! everytime he talks about both his kids having MS. just seems so strange... something in the water... um.... lyme????

I just got call about mammogram.

they wanna do more scans. fibrous areas..... microcalcifications..... I forget exactly. but I thought it might be a scam since when I called

initially they said it was free mammo and if anything else was needed I would have to pay,

but today when they called they said futher tests are free and if I need future tx I will get a discount.

so..... NOW do I worry? I am a thinker. I am already thinking too much.. I know calcifications are common, but .....

one more thing I need.

and I have to stew until Wednesday. [dizzy]

I am going to try and get off here now and stay busy for hours. maybe I'll do flea market tomorrow again?

either that, or get drunk right now because why does anything matter! [Roll Eyes]

Lisa...you are a thinker. You need to read relevant info.think about it. Pray on it. And listen

I was upset when they did a lumpectomy on a tiny lump i had . It was cancer and invasive but had not spread.

At the time I JUST WANTED IT OUT. And thats what i did. But the "getting it out" exposed me to tons more radiation than i would have if i didnt take it out

They are all different. Different kinds of cancer. Differnt size and in different places.

Im at the beach now but tinight ill pm you some authors. If you have time pm catgirl and ask her about the video

Hang in....oh the gyn i trust told me you can always wait and see if it grows and always get catscan instead of xray if you can

Kam's building had a small fire and the sprinklers went off. I hope her apt is OK. She and all of the others are in motels in the area.

I went to help with the garage sale today. I bought a transistor radio. It's pretty nice. I wanted one that I could set on the counter next to my computer.

It looks a bit like the one my dad used to listen to baseball games. Nostalgia thing!

I also bought a nice stapler. Boy, did they have the junk! (JUNK) [Big Grin]

Was hoping for important mail today .. but nothing. Shoot.

So sorry to hear about Kam's situation. Seems she cannot catch a break at all.

Wish I could sing. I sound like a howling coyote off key.

Glad it is Friday. Full moon got the kids going--lots of office referrals from teachers, but fortunately my students were pretty good.

Rode the exercise bike when I got home.

Dinner and couch vegetable tonight.

I took etta to get haircut today and parked by the beach while i waited. Nice wind off the march kept the waves really nice. My kind of surfing waves...3-4', just nice, consisstent little waves. I could have surfed them with my kayak...if i could get in and out of my kayak. I really miss it

I ended up sleeping about two hrs and breathing good air before i had to pick her uo

Then slept a few more hours when i git home...rhats why im up now. I was able to make some prigress moving stuff around so i am more ready for friend who is coming to work tomorrow

My daughter is sending money to hook up the stove...i took an elec one out a few months ago and im.putting my propane one inbut didnt have money. So that is good...sunce some of kids are coming for holidays

Got snow up north but not here yet

Good to know kam can connect. I am overwhelmed when forced into a strange environment.

I am trying to get supps in and get dressed cuz friend is comimg to help again. She used to fight me all the time when i tried to pay her and it made me afraid to ask for help. Now she is planning this big holiday thing with her kids so she wants to make money. That makes it easier on me

I still have break thru pain at high dose of neurontin but i am noticing it is worse when i am farthest away frim curcumin and fish oil. So i am going to see if taking more of them helps. They are good for so many other things too

Ohhhhh. I have to start moving and it is so hard....its very pretty out today...maybe sitting out in the sun for a little while will get me going

Oh! I got a video from my son...my grand daughter is walking!

Happy thoughts. Need them when world is crazy

Regular Saturday here for me. Went grocery shopping.

Delighted to find cranberries--I love them, so cooked some up when I got home.

Rode the exercise bike. I really need to rake leaves, but way to windy. Maybe tomorrow.

I wonder if the fire at Kam's apartment complex was to due the smokers that live there.

May take a nap this afternoon.

That's great about your friend, kayak.

YES, the nerves are more painful when they are inflamed. Keep up the anti-inflammatories. Maybe you can take the curcumin every 5 hrs? I usually take it every 6 hrs to due stomach problems if I take it too often.

Hiker.. I WAS off to buy groceries, but then I found out the mailman has not been here (I think) and I'm waiting on something important.

Kam reported that they brought them lunch from Chili's (a salad) but she wasn't sure she could find the strength to eat it.

SOOO stressful!

Lymetoo, I hope your got your important mail. I am sure it was the winning Publishing House sweepstakes of $10,000 per week for life.

I did end up raking some leaves. I rake them into trash bins and haul them to the front curb where the town workman come around with their big "vacuum trucks."

I have a lot more leaves to fall from the trees and rake and I am sure a lot of my toil will get blown away by tomorrow's higher winds.

My shoulder and elbow have flared up from exercising the past few days and leaf raking did them no good.

Still, it always feels good to get outside in the sunshine. [Cool]
