The hearing was scheduled to begin this morning at 10 a.m. Mountain Time.

Wonder how it went. Such a sad story. Pamela Weintraub has writing in Psychology Today about this very issue with lyme and false allegations of MBP.

I was trying to find out what happened and nothing pops up. I did find this excellent article - just excellent & tells a lot about what it's like to deal with lyme by a photographer who is doing that, Cate :

Jailed for Lyme Disease. Really? Really.

A FaceBook page (I'm not registered with FaceBook so can't go beyond the basics) - no detail of today's hearing posted but references to it were posted yesterday.

anat rachel feingold/pediatric infectious disease specialist and "fellow mom" at newtown friends school. not much nice to say about her and i would like to hear her explain herself about her actions and lack of actions and also her daughter's bullying of my daughter that i did not know about until a few yrs after we left the school. teachers and others there knew though.

i remember what happened to me when i had a positive PCR of my spinal fluid and was in more pain than any living creature should ever be left in and tons of other horrible symptoms.

our insurence blue cross blue sheild personal choice would not OK I.V. rocephen treatment for me but would not put in writing that they were denying treatment over many months and then a dr too scared to treat me did alert me at least that it was illegal for my insurence co to deny me IV antibiotics,

so in desperation, i called the school, knowing lots of the parents were drs and lawyers and thinking they would help. instead, someone told social services i was not really sick and instead mentally unbalanced and a danger to my children and should have my children removed from me. i was a better mother than even most of the healthy mothers around me.

results were that one of the ladies sent to investigate, as an adult, her mother got very sick from neuro-lyme and at first was refused treatment and labled a psych patient but her adult children knew better.

we were deemed excellent parents, the mom is just very sick, and needs medical care. they did not take my children from me, but i did not get aggressive treatment for late stage lyme and babesia either, though eventually got just a few weeks of rocephin that were inadequate.

also, my children had things wrong with them that were the lyme i passed on to them, but they still did not get dx at the time.

when i was so sick that i would sometimes need to use the walls to walk, the principal at newtown friends would actually smirk at me.

i have roots in bucks county going back to the 1600's, though not quaker ( swiss anababtists). i do have quaker roots also, but baltimore. but newtown friends is a school that at that time, my opinion shifted to seeing had little to do with quaker values.

i am just lost. how can they let this happen to people!

What you've gone through has been going on for a long time. I think some people here on this board have been able to fight and win some battles, and may be able to mention what they did.

Otherwise, we are all up the proverbial creek until we get better understanding, laws, etc. Advocacy will take a long time to do. But anything each of us can do to educate and advocate is important to do.

I suggest you hang out with people who understand exactly what you're dealing with, for support and understanding.

So sad. What a stupid and clueless system, but we can thank the idsa for that.
