Stupid Facebook question. If you join a group is it automatically posted on your timeline?

For example if I joined the magnesium advocacy group would it be posted such that all friends see it?

I looked through privacy settings and didn'the see anything about it.

I think so. When in doubt with Facebook, assume all with see your activity.

If it is a closed group, your friends will not see your posts but if it is an open group, your posts will go in friends newsfeed.

In other words, in an open group you probably don't want to get too personal.

I think if you join a group, RSVP yes to an event, or like a page, it all shows up in the newsfeed.
