After 3 days of working outside doing grunt yard work, I had to take a day to rest.

So today I was doing some light house cleaning when someone came to the door. A young voice, calling me by name, said it`s Johnny, can I come in.

He looked about 13 or 14 years old. He sat down and started talking and eventually offered to do some work for me if I needed any help. With a lot of brush, cuttings, hauling and nasty work still left to do, I said ok.

We set a price, two hours work for $1o.oo. If he finished earlier he still got the $1o.oo. He wanted to know that, really cute he was. I figured it would take him about three hours easily, and would take me three more days doing it myself, so I was fine with it.

That boy worked his buns off, never stopping. Finished all I ask him to do and then did more. When the two hours were up he came back to the door. I gave him a Gator Aid and his $1o.oo, we chatted a little more, such a sweet child too, and he headed home on his bicycle.

Hours later I am still sitting here trying to figure out who that was and where he came from. I have no clue at all. None.

The only thing I can figure is he must have been an angel.

MannaMe, I would assume he met me somewhere in the past and or his folks know me. He may have been much younger then, I really don't know. And yes, what a nice surprise it was. Really nice!

TuTu, I tried to tip him, but he wouldn't take the extra. He clearly stated he only needed $1o.oo. He owed it to a boy for the shoes he was wearing when he showed up here... obviously hand me downs. In fact, shoes and shorts was all he was wearing.

I asked him if the shoes were worth that much money and he kind of gave me that... is she really that out of touch look... and assured me they cost over $1oo.oo new at the store. Even showed me and had me feel the little bit of leather on the shoes near the heals. He was obviously very proud of them.

I asked if he was sure that $1o.oo was going for shoes and not drugs and he got really serious and stern looking, then leaned forward and looked me right in the eyes and made it very clear he didn't do drugs. Makes me laugh now.

And yes, Catgirl and kayak, it was nice. I`d love to send him to you all, but I have no clue where he came from. And TuTu, I do hope he shows up again sometime. For some reason I think he might. Maybe that is just wishful thinking.

Not too often you find a really hard working little angel that is kind and polite and will do exactly what you tell them, and then some.

Yes, I feel very blessed. Oh, and Carl Edwards, #19, won the race in Charlotte today. YES!!!!

I know how you feel Tincup...

I am really convinced I had an angel encounter once...I still think of it...if it wasn't an angel, surely the Lord's providence which is miraculous too...so it is a win win either way!

And also something really cool to contemplate.

Wow, someone upstairs knew you needed help! Sounds like an angel to me.

I had a best friend when I was age 4-7, who I really believe was an angel of sorts. She had leukemia, couldn't go to school much, was taken away in the night in an ambulance . . .

BUT, she was happy, she was loving, everyone loved her, and we were best friends. We really loved each other. In fact we had mups together!

She was someone who was there to help me make it through those years, which were very difficult.

And there for her family I'm sure, She is a total mystery to me now how that could be otherwise. Very sadly she died when I was in the middle of 2nd grade, right after we moved to another town.

I cry about her from time to time to this day----out of love and gratitude for the love and light she brought to me. The memory of that is huge.

So, yes, there you go, TC!

Me too db, real soon!!!

Yes, momindeep, I agree. I know there are angels. I have a very special one that has kept me going for many years with her kindness, and others who watch over me. I wouldn`t be here without my special angel, or if I were, I`d be crawling to get anywhere I needed to go.

Hey! Thought your name was JUST Don. You trying to move up in the world my friend? Don`t bother. You are WAY up there in my book.

Rumi, your sweet story brings a warmth to my heart, and a tear to my eye. Thank you.

Angels are clones!!

When I was on the east face of Tewinot mountain.

Trying to summit. I was praying for help to find the route to the top.

I dropped down into a coular and there was two dudes climbing the same mountain.

They let me follow them to the summit were I took pictures of them.

I never saw again them after we got back to the tree line.

When I looked at the pictures of them they are exactly the same. Identicle twins or clone angels????

What is the chances of running into twins up on a
peak in the Tetons??????

Right before reaching the summit of Longs peak I got stuck on how to finish the last section of solid rock.

A old man came up behind me and explained how to put my feet in a huge crack and twist them to lock them in for foot holds.

I reached the summit, turned and watched him climbing up down below me. I took his picture looking down there.

Upon developing the film ,were he was, only a huge glow like the sun was there.

The sun was up in the sky it was noon.

Another angel it was !!!!!

Your first angel story sounds a little crazy, like a Maddog story.

A Maddog 20/20 story. HA!

Twins would be unusual, for sure, but climbing that 2nd peak sure isn't the smartest thing I`ve ever heard. Are you NUTS!

You know that is a dangerous one. I know you do! And too many people die attempting Long`s peak!

[Eek!]

Guess though right now I am just barking at the moon. It is done and over, isn't it. You must be very brave to even think of doing the 15,ooo ft high monster, much less conquer it.

But, shaking my finger sternly at you, let me tell you something. Next time you even think of trying a stunt like that, there won`t be angels to keep watch over you.

Just a psychiatrist that I am hiring to stick on you like glue.

[lol]

Just Don, you just turned 165. You can't pass for age 13 or 14, I don't think. However, you are always welcome to be helpful to whomever whenever and however...
