Linky has been having trouble with neuropathy and other issues, including EMF sensitivity.

She's not able to be online very much to connect with her Lyme family. Please keep her in prayer and give her a shout out when you can.

If you have any tips for her neuropathy or sensitivities, fire away!

Tramadol helps my neuropathy - no other pain medicine works. Only suggested if you are willing to take a narcotic and if Doc is willing to prescribe that for you.

Gabapentin was the first to help immensely, but that wore off.

I tripped over the tramadol/neuropathy relief by accident, well more like observation. I did an experiment after taking tramadol for headache pain instead of oxy and found that tramadol did nothing for my headache pain, but my neuropathic pain was way less! Oxy helps better for my out of control chronic daily headaches, but it doesn't do much for neuropathic pain.

My lyme doctor (prescribes tramadol) knows I take both as does my gp(prescribes oxy in a very small quantity). is okay with this.

Of course a pain doctor I went to get assessed by, freaked and I had to promise only to take one kind. (I stopped going because they would only burn nerves as solution to headache)

My insurance has no problem with filling two different pain prescriptions. I don't think I've ordered both at the same time/month however.

I don't know the herbal side very well, but I know that others here will help!

Hopefully things start letting up or you find workable solutions soon. My prayers are with you!

Neurontin helps me.

. I also made my bedroom the most emf free room in house. It measures lowest with my tri meter and i use a lantern that turns on at night if i read in bed or get up at night.

I leave my phone in hall outside the door when i sleep. I can hear alarm.from there

I sleep a lot...8-10 hrs and i think that much time away fromemf is helpful

Also...microwave is pretty bad if she uses one

I have heard about special wallpaper and paint if she lives close to ppl and their wifi comes in her house.

Also she should be sure a smart meter isnt on the other side of her wall. Aluminum foil on the wall is supposed to cut down on the emfs from that

Hope you are able to fix what you can and feel better linky.

I know there are EMF blockers that you can buy too. You can put them on cellphones and computers.

Linky .. I know you will check this thread eventually. Make sure you are not supplementing Vit B6 or p5p.

Linky,

I am praying for you!!!!

Alpha Lipoic Acid may be helpful for the neuropathy if taken in a high enough dose.

You could try at least 300 mg twice daily.

Hugs!!!

Dr K recommends no wifi, only hardwired broadband and he says to turn off all breakers at night...not sure how that works if you need heat, etc.

Linky... I found this on a Gut Health board regarding B6:

-

"WARNING about Vitamin B6 Toxicity ....
I got Vitamin B6 toxicity from H Pylori. Talk about a limited diet! I had to go on the HP restrictive diet, and the Candida restrictive diet, AND of those choices, they had to be low in vitamin B6!

One word for all of my fellow HP sufferers ... DO NOT consume any synthetic B6 while fighting ANY bad bacterial infection. They need the B6 to colonize. It somehow gets stored up in our muscle, including smooth muscles like the heart, stomach and bladder. It's a ***** to get rid of.

It's not the natural form of B6 found in food that causes the toxicity, but once you're toxic, the natural form exacerbates symptoms, which include severe peripheral neuropathy, tingling in extremities, parathesia almost anywhere, brain fog, frequent urination, headaches, mood changes, memory problems and more gut issues like "non-specific" gerd and gastritis, and heart arrhythmias.

Synthetic B6 is found in B Complex supplements, energy drinks, vitamin waters, protein shakes and bars, smoothie mixes, fortified and enriched foods, such as GRAINS (breads, pastas, cereals, oatmeal, crackers, potato chips, etc).

Here's the tricky part ... Producers aren't required to list B6 content on their label if they don't add it in themselves. But if they use a whole wheat flour, say, that's already enriched with synthetic B6, they don't have to list it.

I'm not saying avoid B6. Having a deficiency has almost the same symptoms. Just avoid the obvious synthetic forms, like supplements, energy drinks, etc. especially Red Bulls!

Producers need to put toxicity warnings on their labels. I LIVED on protein shakes and bars, vitamin waters and the like when I had HP. It's all I could eat. But the price I paid was horrible. And worse, some of that nerve damage can be permanent. Be careful. Avoid ALL synthetic vitamins, in fact -and get your vitamins from food."

More info for linky:

""Iodine deficiency is a big cause of PN because it causes a loss of myelination of peripheral and central nervous system tissues. A lack of iodine also means the person can not myelinate their nerves because they can not access the ketogenic pathway to myelinate nerves. This has two major effects on nerves.

One it decreases the insulation of nerves and can cause a short circuit to develop. The second is more interesting and more significant. It would decrease the the DC current of nerve fibers that has been found experimentally to be tied to tissue regeneration in mammals."
