Get ready to LEAP. Tomorrow is Leap day.

Unfortunately my vertigo has returned. It is the kind of vertigo called BPPV and is due to little rocks moving out of place in the ear.

This was my first Lyme symptom, so it always dismays me when it returns. I will try to get into a therapist this week to do the maneuvers to put the "little rocks" back in place.

I always have to be careful to sleep on my right side, not look straight up etc., but sometimes it still comes back, although it has been several years. It only happens on the left side.

So, I will not get much exercise in today. I lay down to do some abdominal work and that is when it happened. Grr.

Have a good week.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Still sick but went to GP on Friday and got a Z pack and am taking a decongestant. She put me on a new diuretic for swelling beneath my right knee and it that doesn't work onto getting an ultra sound.

I've been staying in bed most of the time and sleeping as much as I can. I must admit I feel better.

My GP said that stress could be causing my problems. She was wondering if I couldn't work things out in my marriage and also she was relieved I wasn't working. Both of these statements really surprised me. Really don't know what to think about it. To be honest, I don't like it much.

Anyways gang, I'll see you all tomorrow!

whewph. woke at 3:30 am without the head stuff....nice....decided it was too early to get up so went back to sleep....woke up at 6 am with the head stuff. Ugh.

Going to get up in a bit and get the clothes out of the dryer and some blankets out of the washers.

This caregiver also overloads the washers and dryers. I had 4 loads of laundry for her to do.

She combined them to two loads....not good.

Cable guy was here this am to see why internet keeps dropping....

so just having people in the house was too much fo r me.

they are gone now. down time for me.

able to take rosie out to the field to do her thing..did a little trail blazing in power chair across the field when I saw her eating something twice...

Usually i stick to the dirt road that is in the field.

got lucky as my brain was not working well and i almost dumped the power chair sideways again where grass was covering a log...but thankfully I did not...in a fog this am while trying to toilet her.

Looks like a down day today but time will tell.

kam

A bit better today. I managed to get in with an audiologist during my planning period this morning for the canalith repositioning. She said not too much vertigo left but to make sure I sleep upright tonight in my recliner and don't bend over or look up. I did the canalith maneuvers myself yesterday and I think that helped a lot.

Now I will be paranoid about getting the vertigo back again.

AK--I think I would get that ultrasound before the diuretic and unless the GP is married to your ex how would he/she know anything about the stress that you were under.

Kam--Hope your day got better. Remember you are not a NASCAR driver!!

I think this week can only get better for all of us, so that is what I am planning for.

I agree with hiker on the marriage thing, AK!!! Sheesh... people cannot walk in our shoes!

kayak .. I do hope you will feel even better tomorrow. It feels like spring is already here in MO, but it will be cooler for the rest of the week here. Suffering in the 50's and 60's ..haha!

KAM .. Glad you got some things done and did not dump that chair .. whew!

Saw a tufted titmouse sneaking some peanuts off my balcony today. A friend gave me a "snowman" full of peanuts for the birds. I wondered how birds would even find the feeder since they aren't used to being fed by me.

It took a month for them to find it. Then the peanuts were disappearing and I didn't ever see any birds. I kept wondering what kind of bird found them. Finally today, I heard a few chirps and looked out to see the pretty bird steal a peanut. They are so wonderful to see, but I'm not sure I'm interested in full-time feeding.... for various reasons.

Tuesday-Got up around 8 and showered. Trying to get stuff together for my taxes. Might drive about 45 miles to the pharmacy I used to go to and pick up a list of my prescription amounts for 2015.

Yesterday I was busy! Took my Mom to her doctor's appointment. Went and paid off my car and made a deposit. Then ran errands with my Mom until 4. Made Josh's lunch and did dishes. Afterwards all I could do was lay in bed.

I'm getting over that cold/sinus thing I had, thank God and feeling better. My leg is healing up nicely from the angiogram.

Thanks guys for the input in regards to what my GP told me Friday. You all are so right! She has no idea what's been going on. I don't feel as stressed out and am happier here.

I hope that we all continue to feel better this week!

hmm....decided to head out in the car this am but rosie had different plans

she saw the black and white cat that has joined our area and decided to chance him or her for a while...

waited in the car withe heater on while i watched her for 10 min...then she came and got in the car

headed up. ended up at the drive thru car wash...outside only...no car washed here that do inside

but now i can see out the windows much better...those dirt roads i go on sometimes really toss up the dust and i travel on them very slowly

came back home as health was still not doing well

fed rosie....she was still restless...so got back in the car to take her someplace where she could run...this time with her leash on her

brain kept switching gears as to where to go...headed east...but did not get far...health was not doing well enough..turned around and headed back home

rosie was still restless...so got in the power chair and took her to the field across the street...

she has now settled down

i need to get back up and put the ice cap now...inflamation in the brain is not letting up...miss not having that at the hotel..

tutu...i enjoy watching birds at a bird feeder but not so sure i want to do that again for mixed reasons.

we are not able to have bird feeders here so not an option at this point unless i put it across the parking lot on city land...not sure that is an option either

hiker....LOL

had her on leash today in the field...she tried to go over to that spot again but just kept the leash short so she did not have access.

apartment inspection today....i do not know if they will be inspecting my apartment or not...

...not even sure who is coming today...it seems there are several people who come to inspect the apartments here

...not doing well enough to even care this am

..but it does add stress a bit...trying not to let it ...just need to focus on getting the brain inflamation down.

and doubt they will come up with anything.

I'm glad Rosie got a little exercise today. Chasing cats must be FUN! HA!!

I went to exercise today and did 23 min on the machine and 23 laps. Like to keep it even, ya know!

The weather was cooler today, but still pleasant. I can handle it. Wouldn't mind getting a big wet snowfall in March. We do get those from time to time. This year we've had about 2 inches or LESS of snow. Lowest year since we've been here .. 20 yrs.

rosie is at the groomers this am. I am lying here hoping when i get up i can do a few things like water the plants, make somethign to eat, put away laundry...but must admit...i am a bit of a chicken...

i hate it when i lay here and think i just might be able to get up and do something and find out i can not.

looked for warm coats on line but have not succeeded in finding one...we have more snow coming...on Monday and Tuesday and I was freezing when i took Rosie to the groomers.

Thought i would wait until next winter but not so sure now...

Able to wash the camp mats that are on Rosie's cot...they have needed washing for a long time.

And brush off the dirt on the cot...camp mats are on the cot.

I had planned on putting Rosie's quilt on the cot and camp mats but knew more needed to be done.

So mats are drying now. Then I will cover them with the quilt.

That did me in and made me feel worse. So, sent a reply to one of the people who responded to the local ad i had for help to see how much they charge.

also made a cup of instant coffee and drank it.

Body is still in more pain than baseline....i know it will take awhile for the mag and turmeric to kick in.

have not taken pills yet this am. need to eat first.

Sure hope i can find someone good to help. Someone when I ask them to change Rosie's bedding they brush off the dirt and crumbs from the cot and wipe off the camping mats if needed and tuck in the quilt so it stays.

Same with when I ask them to change my bedding...they pick up papers that have fallen on the floor, tuck in my blankets so they stay, etc.

This is a great time of year to buy a coat, Kam!! Have you looked on Overstock.com? They might be too pricey, I'm not sure. Depends upon how much they've reduced prices.

You could also try Blair or Bedford Fair.

Wednesday-Went to the commissary again with my Mom for a few things. Got all my tax stuff together, just have to type up my typical cover sheet of yearly expenses for my tax guy. Also I went outside and picked up trash with a grabber for about 25 minutes.

It's 4:57 and I'm back in my jammies and watching t.v. Will just have to do dishes tonight so am happy I seem to be able to do a little more.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Stayed home yesterday as I felt discombobulated from the therapy to help vertigo.

Went back to work today and found the sub did not follow my simple instructions. Grr. I hate missing school. Ends up being a lot more work than when I am there.

Still not exercising. Am totally paranoid about getting in a position that might cause vertigo.

Hiker .. I hope the problems let up soon. Maybe you could just walk for exercise? I used to HATE having subs too. So hard to come back and then do double work.

Kayak .. Your body does need a rest now and then. Hope Etta gets to have her walk tomorrow.

I did run a few errands. Saw some friends on my journey. The shows will be starting up soon. Hubby got a call about rehearsals. Woot woot!

Saw a chickadee sneaking a peanut this morning. So pretty!

Kam .. Maybe one of those coats will be warm enough. Overstock had quite a few warm-looking ones.

Thursday-8:10 a.m.-Already showered and waiting for 9 to wake up Mom. We're going to drop off my taxes about 45 miles from our house then hit Angel's Antiques.

Tonight is Mexican food night. I'm whipping up bean (from leftover pinto beans) and cheese burritos, Knorr Spanish rice and a salad with cilantro.

I've been trying to contact my gyn to see about having that surgery that I was supposed to have in December. I've been having pretty bad lower abdominal pain and am worried.

If it's not one thing, it's another.......

RosieKam-Reading about the babies in their little outfits sure made me smile today! Thanks!

Hiker-Josh has the same problem when he has a sub. He tries not to take any time off for the same reason.

Kayak-I'm a little worried about my taxes this year since I've lived in another state since August. Oh well, I'm hoping the tax liability isn't to high.

TuTu-I've been hearing alot of birds when I get up early enough. Makes me think of spring! I did see an awesome red cardinal this week.

Anyways, gang, I hope everyone has a fabulous day!

5:30 am took 2 excedrin. woke up needing to get up and go to the bathroom but had to lay in bed for a bit before getting up...difficult to explain why it is so difficult to get up...more than one thing going on...

miss the days at the hotel where i did not think twice about getting up to go to the bathroom, getting dressed, getting out in power chair to restaurant for breakfast or going out in power chair several times on the grounds to toilet/exercise Rosie....

still have not figured out what it is in the apartment that makes life more difficult

need shower

would like to get groceries

would like to make a list for the new caregiver that is coming this am and for the old one that is coming tomorrow am

trying out new person to help...hope it works out...but if not..i have some others that i can contact

saw person who has had good reviews from others in the apartment complex that cleans...she is coming on Tuesday of next week...not sure why it took her so long to get back to me...

...saw her in the parking lot...she was on her phone the first time i went by, the second time, the third time...

i was taking rosie out to toilet..so passed her on the way and then on the way coming back and then again...

finally headed in her direction...she was off of the phone then and another neighbor was asking for her card...

...we had apartment inspection this week. this guy has not had a bedroom since he moved here before 2007

...he has his ex wife things in his bedroom ..he was supposed to get a storage unit last year and move them out

..he still has not done it...heard he got yelled out this time to get the job done...but not sure how getting a housekeeper is going to help him with that ...so maybe there was more going on

concerned because he lives across the hall from me...once people start to move things that have not been moved in a long time...the roaches start coming out of the woodworks and into my apartment...ugh

ugh...running a muck on the keyboard this am

scared of trying to get dressed and making things worse this am health wise. ...

but need to try.

6:40 am now. excedrin has kicked in....best use of movement would be to get dressed..would really like it if i could shower before getting dressed but that is not do able...

Hope your day gets a little better, Kam. The perfume or whatever on the worker would not last long with me. I can't take it and I know you can't either!

I left the house today at 7:30 and just got home about an hour ago. Totally exhausted, but still moving. Took two hours in the doctor's office and another hour and a half for labs, etc. Lots of waiting going on!

Have to go back next week and again the next week. Allergist is trying to figure things out for me. Still having trouble with foods and with scented things, fumes, etc.

I also ran a few errands while in the big city. [Wink]

ok today is friday. took rosie out twice to run about...1st time in power chair off leash.

2nd time in power chair on leash.

saw rocket

fed cat and dog..have yet to clean out litter box

look on line for warmer coat as we are getting a temp drop in a couple of days...but doubt coat would get here in time

i am still defrosting from this am's outing.

saw a coat on llbean's web site that has a temp ratings of 5 degrees to 15 degrees low activity.

still in limbo at this time about spending the money due to other things funds need to go for this month.

and spring coming....

might go with jacket too vs a coat and then get some sort of waterproof pants to keep me warm while in power chair

that is all the brain could handle this am...able to look into one coat

trouble with llbean is there sizing now...xl use to be fine but now they have xl in misses and 1x in women's

Got up to oil the lift but could not find the WD 40

Had to do some multi movement to find it. Found it in the apartment instead of the back of the car where it was last.

Also discovered the antifreeze had a puncture in it and had leaked out into the stuff in the plastic bin it was in...thankful it was in a plastic bin in the house and things were covering it.

tried to put the stuff with the antifreeze in the sink but too much of it....so took it out and put it back in the plastic bin..

caregiver took things to laundry room. I need to get up in 20 min and get the stuff

felt like i was going to toss my cookies so laying back down

that is twice Rosie has been near poison recently...thankfully I discovered the antifreeze leak before she did..i hear they like to lick it because it takes good to them but it also kills them.

caregiver said stuff in dishwasher was still dirty...do not know if she washed it or not....

new person does not know you have to clean dishes before putting them in dishwasher or just wash them by hand

have not checked dresser drawers or closet to see how new person did with putting clothes away.

i do know i looked for my gloves in the warm dresser drawer first, then looked in the panties drawer....she had put them in the panties drawer so that worked out.

got cat litter box dumped....need to clean it and put new cat litter in

Yestrrday was awful. Today a little better. I realized i was forgetting vsl. Crazy appt with gastro after complaining to office manager

Doc was prof and kind and very invested in sorting it out. Basically telling me what mold docs assistant told me days ago that it was a flu but was hitting me harder cuz of my history.

The mold doc assustant eas talking bout
history of mold /lyme toxicity which make
chronic inflmmation(ie mybmold dx CIRS)

But the doc was talking about sepsis and toxic
shock and i didnt understand until i fugured out
in my chrt for the last ten.months they have my
CIRS written as SIRS or sirs...two different dx

...one similar to mine the other totally
something else

The the doc is acting like my mold doc is treating me for sepsis and toxic shock and that is why i am having trouble with flu

When i explained he again responded well...wrote down dx...famous docs name who discovered illness and said he would look it up

He probably will never have time but now i see howceasy itvis for major screwups to happen whendocs are allowed 15 min.a patient and stuff is punched into our records and computer spits out answer based on messed up dx (SIRS OR sirs VS CIRS )

What a mess. Tody im.ok because my very impaired brin is working well enough to see the screw up...but god help us in the future

Taking intelligent, caring humans out of the mixand replacing with dummed down assistants and machines is a recipe for disaster

Years ago when they started putting everythingvon computers i regularly asked for copies of office notes. I was fighting workers comp at the time. I could not believe the mistakes and wrong info they put in those records. Written.as ifvitvwas true. I started to correctvthem.but so much was wrong it was impossible.

What a mess. Thats my rant. No winder this country is so screwed up

i had it in the back of my suv. i had cleaned it out so the person who was coming to vacuum, etc the inside of the car could do his job without having to remove things.

i dumped the antifreeze.

I was worried about you, Kam!

I love seeing woodpeckers! They are so interesting and beautiful.

Kayak .. I hope your stomach settles down soon. Sorry to hear about the dr getting mixed up. At least he is taking you seriously.

up at 2am...not sure when i fell asleep. took sleeping pill and gabapentin at 8 pm...but it takes from an hour to two hours to kick in.

able to walk into front room and open package i was not able to open earlier. it is a space pen so i can write on the calendar what i was able to do if brain co operates

also able to get the netflix DVD's so will be putting them in and watching them next.

4 am now. i usually wake up at 5 am so not sure if i want to fall back to sleep now or not...no choice really...if i fall asleep rosie adn the cat will wake me

took the liquid stuff while i was up..protein stuff

able to cruise next door to the funeral home in my power chair in the afternoon yesterday

saw a post on FB from the local radio station that the first person to get to the new flower business would receive flowers.

i was the first person. A guy walked in about 30 seconds after i did.

I think this is a God thing as I have been wanting flowers but decided not to spend the funds on it.

I thought if I did I would get one of those large ...dang ..can not recall what they are or maybe a yellow rose

This arrangement has both the flowers in it that i like and a couple of tulips plus ferns...miss ferns.

So, it is a treat. Also talked with guy in funeral home a bit...hard on health but adrenaline was up due to getting the flowers

i had rosie with me of course...he just purchased a puppy that is a standard poodle and wheaten mix called a woodle.

so brain exercise going on for a bit there...do not like to do that as i am not sure what is coming out of my mouth and if i am processing what others are saying.

can not recall what i said afterwards or what they said for the most part.

Im a little better and trying to stay focused to make house safer. It got so cluttered when i was sick. Dishes and laundry got caught up a few days ago when i was good all day. I just atefor second time and got both thyroid pills in.

I stopped the coq10 and nac that was really helping before i got ad ick when i wasnt getting better and couldnt figure out why. I know it would be eeasier to get house together with that pill but want to make sure that didnt bring illness on

Im still pretty crampy but considering what my innards have been thru i guess that is normal. Also when i went to bed last night i had full blown conjunctivitis...my eyes had been gettingitchy the last few days and i missed the flax oil i take for them.

I used some eye drops and slept with cold washcloth on them and took flax....but they arent great. I think i will go to primary monday if she can fit me in. I know shes mad i didnt comefor flu but i have to get on highwy for her and i really couldnt do that. Gi was closer and biggest problem was gi pain

It would be great if i could keep the 14 lbs off but the main thing the gi wants is for me to eat esp fufiber. Im craving a grilled chic salad frommy fav place but im afraid lettuce might be pushing it

Ok...rest is over...im trying to figure out better place for tools and hardware and junk drawer stuff i need to get at alot....i dont want to have to go out to shed for it...but my kitchen is tiny and could use that drawer back

Hope everyone has a good day

Saturday-Slept til 11:30 again. Really wore myself out Thursday taking taxes and shopping around at Angel's Antiques for over 3 hours.

Well, I'm scheduled for surgery on March 31st. I see my GYN next Thursday to make sure nothing else is going on besides the fibroid tumor. I sure have been having pretty bad lower abdominal pain but thought it was from the angiogram due to bruising.

Hope it's nothing else but sure am concerned about the pain.

RosieKam-I sure understand about the MCS. I have a real problem with cigarette smoke. I don't know why but it affects me neurologically and plugs up my sinuses. You might have to mention it to your helper.

Kayak-Good grief! So they had you down for a completely different diagnosis? That's scary as all get out! Hope they can get their act together!

TuTu-That's a long day! I did the same thing Thursday and I had to lay around all day Friday to recover!

Sure hope everyone has a great weekend!

[hi]

Kam--What a delight to get flowers!!

LP--The medical world scares me!

Ak--will be praying for you. Keep reminding us about the surgery as it gets closer.

I have not exercised all week. Went to energy healer yesterday. Sure don't have any energy today though--lol.

I cooked most of the morning and graded essays this afternoon.

Will read and relax the rest of the afternoon and evening.

I am so scared and in so much pain its hard to think. I was in er last night and dx with duverticulitis. Tx is flagyl and cipro. I asked fo. Nystatin tabs and got a few. I know i need sbc but its been so long since i had them i dont know where to buy.

I was in walker for 3 months after taking statin. I think last time i took cipro my achilles started hurting so i stopped it.

So far i had one flagyl and nystatin with an egg and toast. Then slept 3.5 hrs. I was supposed to take vsl at 6 but alarm.didnt go off and i slepttil 7:20 when i woke from.bad abd pain. I took vsl and see i am supposed to take cipro at 9 with oatmeal

My diet is supposed to be bland with high fiber. That sort of contradicts itself but they were clear.

White bread, saltines, skim milk puddings....

I just had bm with most horruble pain. I refused pain meds at hosp.im scared of them but this isreally bad pain,..

Im really scared. Is this what randi had? After surgery twice i got deperndent on pain pills and i hated it. But pain is very very bad.

Can you guys talk to me? I have to get better. I dont think i can refuse cipro. Pharmasist said they would give me levaquin andi think that is worse on tendowns. I get really bad hives and allergy from sulfa

Please halp me with idea. I feel like i have to go back to hosp now cuz of pains

yes I had diverticulitis. got so bad I had 12
inches of colon taken out. ive had two serious attacks and am now having another one. two hospital stays. pills and more pills. liquid diets etc etc.

believe me the pain of surgery was nothing compared to the attacks. in fact I was up in two days and left hospital days ahead of schedule.

no support, I mean none, at home.

i cant take flagyl and cipro anymore due to side effects. bad neuropathy etc.

be careful. it aint fun.

stay on clear diet. ensure, broth, etc. plan loosing weight. i took 1/4 of a vicodin when I had to but stopped. tramadol does not touch diverticulitis pain.

if I keep having attacks looks like another surgery. oh gosh.....

Ty for answer randii. I am not in awful pain this second. I slept a few hours then woke up and took vsl with broth.

Oh. Awhile ago i took first cipro with broth and two saltines. No stomach pain or tendon pain so far

With me the diver is at thr very end so i am.sorta ok for awhile after a bm. Until

something else has topass thru. I cry when i
pee and cant sit on chair. I sort of am on my
side in recliner most of time

Its noon and at 1 or 2 (i have it written down) i
have to take flagyl and nystatin again...with
some kind of soft food...and after that a bm will
follow and i am terrified

Poor etta is so scared to see me scream. My
neighbors took her to kennel where she jnows
ppl and knows i always come back to get her
eventually

I talked to oncall doc for pain meds i refused at er but he couldnt give them on phone. He wanted to call ambulance to come get me but i said no

He called back and said i could try ibuprofen and other nsaids and i took the new one that i only take two a day 12 hrs apart. I wont know if it works til next bm.

He told me if i went to er now they could give me iv ketorolac...not narcotic but heavy duty nsaid i like after surgery

What a mess. I dont hurt now. When i woke uplast i didnt hurt...took the vsl and then satayed in kitchen and washed a million.dishes. and im.fine. a little weak but no pain. But i know whats coming

Randi...dic says i must get antibiotcs in and that is what will make my pain go away. How did you get better if you cant take flagyl and cipro?

Also they say rules have changed. They dont care about nuts and seeds anymore. Im supposed to eat bland diet. For most ppl it should be bland and low fiber but for me it is bland and high fiber. Im.not sure why...maybe cuz of ibs history?

Ty again randi. I hope the pain keeps getting less. Last one was ten times worse the one before

I didnt want to go to hosp but so glad i did brcause so far no perforations....randi i cannot imagine your level of pain if mine was like this

They said the only cuse is american diet. But i have not eaten american diet for years. The doc even.said its not even the food...its the way they grow the food and if you live here there is no way to get away from it.....i thoght that was pretty cool.for a doc to say that

Later online i saw ibuprofen can cause it too...and i took ibu 30 yrs before i stopped last yr. So maybe it was the combo

I alwys thought it would be the ibu that did me in. I bettergo...both aems got numb dor some reason

Thank you randi

they gave me bactrim. omg...thought I was going to die. threw it up, headache, blurred vision.

now all I can take is amoxy 875 twice a day.

yeah the pain was horrendous before surgery. my bp was 209 over 186. wouldn't operate because of bp. took 8 hours to get it down. they thought i was stroking because I was screaming my head hurt. it was the pressure from the high bp.

nurse said he thought I was going to break his hand. they finally sedated me because I was so out of it. now I'm watching liver enzymes. they go nuts when i take any abx.

sometimes I'd rather have the bag but I saw what my dad went through. not pretty...
