Time to start a new week! Sunny and warm here.

I went to church.

Grilled salmon and asparagus for dinner.

Will try to walk this afternoon.

I also am spraying my "work outside" clothes with tick repellant. I use the Sawyer brand. I spray shoes, socks, jeans, t-shirt and ball cap.

Have a great week. [Cool]

Salmon and asparagus. YUM.

Thanks for starting the thread this week hiker.

I think I was out of the apartment for an hour this am. Loaded up power chair and cruised in the forest on the asphalt roads with friend and her furry friend.

Have not gotten dressed yet. Put coat over pj's while i was out this am.

Cooler here this week but nice enough I can have the windows open. Did not wake up with the head stuff this am. Not sure why but glad.

Lost my first post. Walked another 1 1/4 miles today and did 3 loads of laundry.

Glad everyone's out and about today.

Hiker, thanks for the reminder about spraying down for ticks.

Kam, wonderful to get and socialize.

Having baked cod and zucchini for dinner.

Must be a theme today.

Im ok. Not great tho. Im having trouble getting energy back after that chiro detox thing. Kinda depressing to go to the same beach where i was able to walk so easily a week ago and hardly be able to walk at all. Im fighting using cane and walker. Hope im back soon

Im glad you guys are having good day. Eggs for supper for me. But etta and i drive to the farm stand i like and got my fav apple's and a bunch of veggies

I also got email estimate for siding labor. Very reasonable. But i have no idea how much materials will be. He gave me a list so i can shop around. I only care about doing one short wall right away..you cant see it from road so it wont matter if it takes awhile for me to save up.

I guess i will be busy checking out materials this week. Pt on thurs is the only appt. Still plenty to clean up in the house

Oh for cryingbout loud. They just said snow tuesday morning. Oh well...have a good week!

I got out of bed.
That's something.

Now the reason I did was because it hurt too much to lay there.

So I got up. That still counts, right?

Yes healthy...it counts. I had been sleeping in recliner for a year and finally saved enough to get an adjustable bed. Its mainly because if my shoulder that needs to be replaced but i cant face another surgery now. The bed also helps with refkux and it would be good if i got chronic bronchitis again but so far that has been under control

Insurance wont pay for adjustable bed unless breathing is the main problem

I still not right with gi in fact today i am scaring etta again making noises f rt om diver pain again...its been nit right since chiro appt last week...

Im using wc and putting stuff back into kitchen cabinets. Im also throwing away a lot and have two totes of yard sale stuff

Sure am glad you got wifi problem takwn care of rosie

Tutu...you could come over and organize my office while i finish kitchen

I hope to walk with walker at beach tomorrow after the snow melts. Sheesh.

Monday-Woke up early and headed out to trim the bushes and pick up trash in the yard. Afterwards ran a few errands and hopefully that's it for the day.

Upper right side of abdomen has been bothering me and think it's my gallbladder and liver. Thinking about doing a oil/citrus flush but will run it by the chiro. Never did one but reading about it. You guys try anything similar?

Kayak-I had a problem with detoxing aluminum. Able to increase the homeopathic drops and not feeling so crappy. Feel for you with the shoulder, I was told the same thing about a replacement. I haven't had full use of my left arm since 2003 so waffling about another surgery.

TuTu-Hello!

Healthy-Yes, it counts!

RosieKam-I have Roku too and I love it!

See you all tomorrow!

AK and Rosie--What is Roku?

Busy day at work. Started with a parent meeting at 7 A.M.

This week the kids are designing experiments to clean up oil spills--either from water or oil from a bird's feather. So, I am on my feet a lot more than usual.

Saw the chiropractor after work--sore lower back and sore knee.

Then walked 20 minutes. Time for dinner and relaxing.

I ended up going outside to pick up a few things in yard. Etta was bored and she was going nuts cuz a chipmunk was running around on patio hiding behind totes and other things so i went out to clean up a little, get ready for trash day and make it harder for the chipmunk to hang out so close. It was crazy how weak i was. I had to do most from the chair and sit and catch my breath. I had to wear a mask cuz wind was blowing the wrong way and i smelled moldy cars next door. That was two hours hard work.for me(exercise...out of breath exercise) and now i cantget out of the chair. But it looks better out there and im ready for tomorroews snow and pesky, tick carrying chipmunks. I think i should probably push for the stress echo...it will be 3 yrs in june

Interesting experiments, hiker. Let us know what they discover.

I ran a few errands today and watched "my" cardinals and chickadees. The cardinals think they own my balcony now. Little boogers.....Kinda like your chipmunk, kayak!

I hope you feel better soon. Also hope you don't get much snow. I'll make you feel even worse... it was in the 80's here today.

We will have some storms tomorrow night. Not too worried.

Hubby has a big event on Thursday. They have a festival of sorts this week at one of the theaters. They run about 15 min each of about 10 different shows each day. Dash onstage, perform, dash off.

I hope to go on Thursday to see hubby's segment. I'm sure he will be nervous.

Hi, AK and Kam! [hi]

Tuesday-Took my Mom to the commissary and put up groceries then I went to the health food store. Cooking salmon and turkey burgers for a few days worth of meals.

Bought some brown rice pasta and black rice tortillas, also some organic kidney beans to add more protein to my salads.

Josh went to the bank again after work so no walking today. Will just do a bunch of cooking today.

Hiker-Roku is similar to Amazon's FireTV and Chromecast. Great for older flat screens so you can access the internet. Now I have Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, etc. We're a cable free house!

Kayak-I have days like that too. I figure they're just par for the course.

TuTu-Hope you have a good time this Thursday.

Well, back to the kitchen.....

I know this isn't about exercise, but do any of you have Wi-Fi at home. I still use DSL and my internet contract is up this summer. Will cost a lot more. Need a cheap internet service but hate to go to Wi-Fi.

Too tired after work to exercise. On my feet all day with lab. Got evaluated today--went well. Don't know the results, yet, but the lesson went perfectly.

Rain moving this way. Hope everyone in the plains area is safe.

7 pm laying here thinking i might be doing well enough to get up and do a few things.

Saw several things to do when i got up. Choose taking the sheet off of the bed and soaking it in a plastic bin to get the blood stains from the (can not recall the name of the infection) sores on my back.

got myself and the floors soaked while at it.

Cleaned that up kind of and changed into dry PJ's.

Resting now. That did me in. Sheets will not go back on bed until caregiver comes on friday.

Turned heater on too....have not slept thru the night for at least a week if not more even with all the sleep aids.

Had this thought that perhaps it is because it is cooler at night now...things like that make a difference.

Vision went. Processing went. So laying back down resting.

hiker..roku is a box that a friend loaned me to try out roku. a small box. you hook it up to the TV.

I still have to have cable here to get wifi but roku can be cable only or wifi It is $10 more to have wifi here.

There are a lot of icons to choose from on the roku screen but so far I just watch netflix and roku movie/TV icons.

Commercials are less than the commercials on TV. I watch things like Grey's Anatomy the next night after it shows on TV.

Can not get NCIS on Roku. But, I can get Bones and some other TV shows.

Vision is really nice and easier on the eyes than trying to look at the laptop screen.

Have yet to see if I can figure out how to see things on the TV screen.

I hear you can.

There are three of us using the roku program. One person is paying for it. Not sure how much it costs.

But, I guess they do not care how many people are using it.

So, I can also see what the other people are watching kind of as whatever they watch comes up as favorites....one family must have young kids because a lot of kids programs comes up.

guess I better decide which I am going to use so I can give the roku box back

I heard one person say Amazon Fire Stick worked best for them.

Kam .. you are way ahead of me. I don't understand any of those programs.

I did 22 min on the machine today and 18 laps. Sure makes a difference when I only exercise on Tues and Thurs now. By the time I get to Tues, I'm very rusty!

Smiling. Heard others did the same. [Smile] Tutu

8:32 am Resting.

Just got off phone from neuro's office. Need to call back at 9 am.

got call from referral person. She got paper work to neuro. this has been something in the making for 3 months now??

able to call hospital to set up cardio scans appt.

got a person thsi time instead of an answering machine. this has been going on for a week.

called to see what time my NP appt was rescheduled for.

Phone calls still are very difficult for me and not usually able to do phone calls so successful morning so far.

Able to clean out litter box. Rest.

able to move sleeping bag from front room to bedroom...this has taken a week.

Hoping to get sleeping bag under Rosie's cot in my bedroom next.

seems like I did something else but can not recall now. Just know climbing Mt. Everest is iffy this am.

Brain is starting to flare up from trying to do things.

sent email to new director of caregiver services.

She sent me an email telling me I had more hours than anyone else on the books and that I would no longer be getting those hours as they have a waiting list of seniors needing help.

I sent an email back saying you are talking about the 8 hours of help I receive a month. right?

I do not think she did a very good job of telling me they needed to cut back my hours so tried to re word things in an email but not so sure how well I did.

guessing she doesn't care. but, it would have been better to say we would like to continue providing 8 hours of service to you a month but since we have a waiting list of people needing service, we will need to cut back your hours.

I told her caregivers tell me they have clients that are able to do things for their selves so they basically just sit with the person and visit.

I also told her I have had caregivers tell me I needed more hours but I assumed those people that got more hours were not being paid by the county.

Scares me to have hours cut back as it is not enough now.

Still trying to balance the books as is the new supervisor.

Called and rescheduled the person I pay to come and help out with household chores too...maybe I said that all ready or maybe that is the other thing I forgot.

Took rosie out to toilet via power chair.

then out to visit with the people in the smoking area in front of the lobby outdoors.

I sit my power chair so I do not have smoke in my eyes or nose for that matter.

finally figured out Rosie just wants to be there.

We did not stay long as I was hurting to much and it was too cold to be there.

it is a matter of funding tutu. thanks for the encouraging words. it is scary.

12:15 put sheets in washers. but, after I get them out, I am done. I was like a drunken sailor that had been in a fight while in the laundry room.

Time to stop trying to do things...I am at that point where I am putting myself in harms way.

But, rare i am able to do all i did this am.

found things that should have gone to long from getting washed. hope i can get the stains out...usually not...

learned it is best to just put them in the wash when it happens but usually not able to do that...miss not having my own washer and dryer

got to get up again

have things on bedroom floor blocking rosie so she can not get on her cot

left closet door open so rosie most likely ate the cat food

cat is letting me know that she needs food in her bowl...usually have cat food in closet and leave door ajar so cat can get in but rosie can not

but darn if my body and brain want to get up...hoping after this i can lay here and watch a movie

I ended up walking back and forth across my lawn with a sheet to catch ticks. See how many there are. It was alarming how out of breath i got. I caught one female and five nyphs. It was the heat of the day not their fav time to be hitch hiking but i needed. To see how bad it was. I plan to do it again early tomorrow when grass is cool and damp. I need to get blood drawn early so wull be up. So walkung back and forth will be today and timorrows exercise

BTW, my Mom doesn't like streaming. She asked me today how much for basic cable because she would like to go back.

We're saving alot of money but I think you have to add channels. Not sure because I've been doing binge watching of certain shows.

Females are bigger and reddish. Males are smaller and black. Not as small as nymphs tho...so i dont have to peek between their legs or anything

I have had a couple of long days at work and am too tired to exercise. Feeling toxic again, too, after feeling well for several weeks.

JULIE--who locates wire etc underground marked my yard and the storm sewer runs ride through the middle of my side yard where I wanted to plant my redbud tree. I have a call into the town and into the nursery for them to come have a look to see if planting in this part of the yard is even possible. If not, I would like to get my money back on the tree.

What's weird is when they marked last year when I had 2 trees removed they did not mark this sewer line and the two trees were planted right above it. Go figure.

Am ready to cook up some dinner soon and relax.

That's good about your son being able to grab a few items for his apartment.

I was able to sell some shelving today. I belong to an online garage sale site on FB. It's nice to be able to unload an item here and there.

Went to a BIG show yesterday that hubby was in. They did a GREAT job. Was so proud of the star and of hubby. He sounded wonderful! I got to sit on the front row.

I also met some famous female musicians/singers from Nashville (they were in the show) and got my pic taken with them. They were so nice!! We chatted for quite awhile because they were so interesting. A breath of fresh air.

PS .. I did 22 min on the machine and 18 laps on Thursday.

wow. i see i have been missing out. hope to read what you all have been up to when health alllows.

i was able to take a shower this am and put clean clothes on.

able to get two loads of towels out of dryer. tried to fold them but did not last long. have several loads of laundry that need to be put away now...i think it has been a month since i had done laundry.

swept patio and shook off cushion....kind of.

want to do more but so far not able.

just took rosie out to toilet and forgot to toilet her. stopped and talked to a couple of neighbors..got too cold...came back in apartment.

learned a guy who does not have a car has a reserved parking space near the front door now.

Can not figure this one out as it is going to be further for him to walk to the reserved parking space than if he just went out the front door and got in a friends car.

Cold here today. We might get rain on Sunday...I hope.

I dislike being shut in the apartment but like being in a warm, dry place especially on days like today.

Tutu--Way to go on the exercise. All my "get up and has got up and went."

I did grocery shop after work. Looked at my very long grass and thought about mowing, but the thought didn't get translated into action. Alex will come on Tuesday to mow.

Supposed to rain tomorrow, so I won't get any yard work done, but I think my body is crying for rest anyway.

I have a good friend who is going to a second grocery store this evening and said she would pick up a few more things for me as the produce at the neighborhood store looked horrible. Will be nice to visit with her when she comes by.

Enjoy the weekend!

Kam .. Glad you got a shower.. you got quite a bit accomplished today! Hope it warms up soon.. but not too much!!

Hiker .. The visit sounds awesome. I'm staying in tonight. It's rainy and cool out there and I need some rest anyway. Nicer weather on the way.

Forgot to post yesterday but did get in my a little over 1 1/4 miles.

Been weighing myself on Fridays and I'm down 10 pounds with the lifestyle change. So I think I'm losing about 6 pounds a month. I never thought the extra weight I've gained would ever come off.

Bought some brown rice pasta, black rice wraps and a vegetti. Haven't tried them yet but maybe this weekend I can make a combo spiral sliced zucchini brown rice vermicelli dish.

Hope to go walking today but if not I might try to go outside and pick up some limbs out of the yard.

Hiker-I have days where I'm too tired to exercise and I don't even work! Enjoy your weekend!

Kayak-Looks like you're going to have some company! Hope your grandson can find alot to take with him. So glad you heard from your son. I know that had to make you feel better.

TuTu-Look at you rubbing elbows! So glad that you enjoyed yourself at you hubby's show and that he did so well.

See you all later!

[hi]

AK .. good job on the weight loss! What is the main thing you are doing to lose weight? Different foods or just the exercise?

You all are so busy and so much exercise and healthy food...good do-bees...i forget who used to say that but congrats to all of you

I am still very weak but my pipes are getting closer to working like normal

I was trying to get motivatd to work on inside of house....they didnt come at last minute...but a friend called from a yard sale where someone was selling bed pads real cheap...she thought they would work for ettas potty pads. I paid 20. For about 200 pads that are bigger than the ones i use so it was a pretty good deal

When i got back i let her run in backyard and graze...she found this patch of grass she really likes....while i set up lawnmower. Since i have been in nh i have never mowed before the end of june...so im pretty sure global warming is real

(This week the local tv channel ran a story about the yr nh didnt have a winter....there were killing frosts, snow and sleet in every month of the year....they said vegetables and flowers started to grow and died 3 times....it was in the 1800s tho. But when i lived up north there were occasional snow and frost in june and aug

Anyway...back to exercise. I started to mow a little around perimeter of yard and flower beds was the plan...but bees chased me inside

Ive been bad. Online for hours reading about detox...alot about hulda clark and zappers made me think about hiker....then silica and DE made me think about tutu

And i cleaned up my desktop some....but not the house

I plan to go out and mow in an hour whensun is low and bees go to bed. That will be some exercise. I hope i work on house tonight and get more

Keep doin what youre doin everyone. Esp ak...yay for you! We all work as hard as we can but i for sure dont see dramatic results that last very often

Yes, our weather has cycled many times in the past. Kinda weird to have snow one day and then mowing a few days later?

The pads for Etta sound like a great deal! Woot!
