I am going to have to have surgery to replace the plastic cap on the underside of the kneecap. The “button” which keeps the kneecap in place, has been sheared off consequently my knee has been slipping out.
Before I have that surgery (no more than 2 days in hospital, walking shortly after I wake from surgery – doc says it's easy/simple) I have an entire body bone scan (April 7) and an MRI scheduled for July 5th (but as that exceeds the 30 day mandate, I can use Choice through the VA and have it done outside the VA system).
Item of concern: at the end of the femur there is some gray specks/holes that doc says indicate a possible previous tumor (if the VA removed one during the surgery in 2010 they didn’t put it in the surgical notes). He asked if I have had bone cancer or if it was familial. I told him I never have and I was fairly certain the folks hadn’t had that type of cancer.
Please keep us in prayer and especially Silver as this is very stressful for her.

I'm so very sorry to hear, TxCoord. That is going to be hard on the two of you. I know you've been under a tremendous amount of stress lately.
I'll definitely pray for both of you.

- Sorry to hear about this, hope the repair is swift and simple.
As for "some gray specks/holes" in bone . . . that could be related to lyme, actually. That could sure explain a lot. I have read many accounts of what you describe related to lyme.
Hope you find an answer that is both accurate and give you something of an action plan for shoring up those bones.
Good luck. -

- Many good results with a search at Google for:
borrelia, bone
One of those, just for starters:
Is Lyme Disease a Bone Weakness Syndrome?

By Dr. Cass Ingram is a nutritional physician who received a B.S. in biology and chemistry from the University of Northern Iowa (1979) and a D.O. from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines,
This video shows the Lyme Spirochete, under the microscope. It also shows it in several forms. Now, you can understand how this bacteria makes swiss cheese of out bones and organs.

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>,
Thanks for the prayers, we definitely need them. TxCoords surgeon said he is also looking at a possible lesion in the tumor like area.
The stress is compounded for us both because of my worsening hearing loss. After six months of tests and visits, the ENT Dr. finally admitted,as we had told him in the beginning, that it is deafness caused by nerve damage.
Dr. said it is irreversible, and finally is sending me to a medicaid Dr. for hearing aids to preserve what little I have left.
Of course they all want to believe it couldn't be the Lyme and Co's. After all aren't Elisa's always 100% accurate, and all the Doctors never wrong, stated sarcastically by yours truly.
We are praying that TxC's issue is not cancer, there is a chance too, that the tumor or tumor like growth is new. If so they may be catching it before it becomes a serious problem.
I go to regular PCP to discuss the 'Elisa results this Monday. to the Oral surgeon on Wed. [he will try to get the authorization to pull one of the bad teeth.
And then March 28th, the Neuro' Dr. will tell me what he thinks my Neuro' blood work up shows,or doesn't show.
1st full week of April TxCoord's round of tests start, surgeon wants to know for certain what we are dealing with for the knee and bones.
Uh, yeah say it's a little stressful right now around here.
' God is in control,He is in charge of our lives, He knows us,and loves us...'and repeat... 'God is in control.....' 'nuff said!!
I wouldn't be human if I wasn't concerned by all these things. I've been listening to a song tho',called 'I will trust in You'.It is about when Mountains don't move, when we really need them to. And when waters get to deep to cross.
TxCoord and I both place our hope and trust in the Lord [altho' this Silverwolfi-me is having some teary moments].

Hi <<<<< Keebler >>>>>,
Thanks for the info', TxCoord hasn't been able to be tested yet, because the VA refuses to believe in Lyme Disease.
The more information we have, the more it is helpful.
We are suspicious that the right eye mid vein occlusion[stroke in the eye] that caused him to lose that eye's sight permanently is likely from Lyme Disease too,
Jus' Silverwolfi here, and TxCoord too.
P.S. Got to view the link video, I have a blood slide pic, not nearly as magnified, but it has the odd clusters of squiggly stuff [a still shot]. It also had some star or 'equal arm' cross looking things going into a cell or two .
The folk that took the pics knew it was bacterium but not what [from 2011]. Most regular Drs. will not look at these blood slides.

Hi there <<<<< 'kayak, gz, and Lymetoo >>>>>,
Thanks so much for continuing to hold us in your tho'ts and prayers.
Until TxC' gets all his testing out of the way, we have to get him a knee brace, to hold the defective replacement joint stable.
We tho't we had plenty of braces,but... mine is still to small for him[ a LG/XL ],and his old one is way too big [a XXXL].
Well our nickname for each other is "Bear" so we are gonna go play "Goldilocks[Brownie-locks didn't sound right],and find him one 'that's ju-u-sst right'.
Silverback Grizz' is fixing us breakfast so I gotta go chow down... be back in later!
Jus' Silverwolfi/Wolfnbear me, and TxCoord Grizz'!
