Hi all,

It's been a long time since I've been on LymeNet, but for many years it was a source of great advice, information, and support. I became very ill with neurological Lyme in 2006, and am happy to report that I am mostly in remission! [Smile]

I'm working on a digital storytelling video and social media campaign to share the stories of people impacted by this public health crisis with as broad an audience as possible.

Here's my digital story that shares a bit more about my personal experience, as an example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX1PwbD5hq4&feature=youtu.be

I'm happy to share more about my specific recovery, but as you all know we need better testing, better treatment, and functional insurance options. My treatment took eight years (mostly antibiotics) and is still on-going (supportive herbs, etc). It was also very expensive. The treatments that saved my life are not an option for so many people with Lyme, and that needs to change now.

If you are interested in participating in this campaign, or have any suggestions of Lyme-related organizations that might want to get involved, please send me a private message.

I wish you all healing, health, and peace on this very difficult journey. Contracting Lyme isn't a choice, but we do have the choice to make the path easier for those who are walking this road with us.

Take care,
Emily

Very happy you are doing so well! Congrats!

So what does the campaign involve?

Very good, Emily! Very well done!

Thanks for sharing your video.

I also came across a few other new Lyme disease videos after linking to yours. This one also published 3/12/16:

This one was also done very well. So glad to see some professional quality documentaries being put forward. The momentum is building. But it was so sad to see how many of those college students knew almost nothing about Lyme disease.

Glad you are well Emily! Take care and continue to be an advocate for truth.

Thank you both!

@Lymetutu - I've been reaching out to organizations that might be interested in hosting an interactive web platform where people can share their video and narrative stories, and/or hosting in-person and online digital storytelling video workshops for patients, caregivers, and medical practitioners. Please send me a message if you have any suggestions [Smile]

@TNT - I appreciate the video link - nice to see outreach happening on college campuses.
