I think I can take Lyme Babeisa and being sick for years and years, but to be stalked by someone I trusted is too much to take.

This person will see this....So do me a favor and leave me and my family alone!!!!

Go to the police!! No, I'm not kidding. I don't know the situation, but it sounds serious.

So this person is on Lymenet?? You mean as a lurker, but not a member? If a member, could you ask that they be banned?

If a lurker, maybe you should change your LN name? (I know you've been on LN a long time, but . . . This does not sound good.

Just now saw your post. That is really horrible! Good grief. And yes, that needs to stop!!!

My first instinct (since I know you are trained in fire arms) is to say to shoot them if they try to do you or your family harm.

After being trashed, slandered and stalked by mentally ill members here (and lurkers too) for a long time, that's my policy.

In fact, you won't believe this, but I had to pull out my gun the other evening, just this past week, when I caught a woman outside staring in my window. (She wasn't a LN member- at least I don't think she was- just a total stranger.)

I made it clear she was never to come near me or this property again, so I don't think she'll be back. I also reported the incident to the police.

I know it sounds funny now, but the next day I was all alone at a recycling place (had the music on so I couldn't hear much). It was a rather remote spot in the country.

When I was done emptying my bags I walked around a bin to go back to my car and a man had appeared out of nowhere and was standing there sort of blocking my way. It really startled me.

He saw me jump and take a step back, and then I gave him "the look". My guess (now) is he was just taking a walk and came by to be friendly and say hi. But, I think he realized that was not cool and I don't think he'll do that again.

My point, you never know and that can be unsettling to say the least.

Sorry! I am so tired and don't even know if I am making sense, but I'll add more here in hopes I do.

I've had to report two of the stalkers (from LN) in the past. One who showed up at private family gatherings and places I'd frequent (weddings, funerals, local businesses, etc.). One who tormented, threatened and stalked a friend they thought was me and it wasn't, and then did the same to me. (Not the brightest crayon in the box, were they? DUH.)

The police didn't understand why people I didn't know either well or at all would be stalking me or anyone else. (Hard to explain what Lyme can do to the brain if they are not familiar.)

They said, and I can't believe they said this, they couldn't do anything unless they could see blood and guts, then I could call them and they would respond and write a report. Not very comforting and a little too late then don't you think?

Since I knew that was not the right answer I went to the top law enforcement officer and he immediately contacted the FBI and they both worked the case, and the stalking stopped.

So you do have options. I'd try to report them to the police first. If you have any evidence get it all together for them in advance. If you'd like me to handle it for you I would be fine with that. Just email me the info you have and I'll certainly take care of it. This can not continue.

I would NOT get a restraining order, at least not yet. As the police even said, a piece of paper won't stop a bullet if they intend to harm you. Plus you have to put a bunch of personal info on the order and by law they get a copy. And depending on where you are there can be court appearances, etc.

I am SO sorry this is happening to you. But we will fix it. Please know that. Then you will feel better. OK? And I'll feel better for you!

[group hug]

It would help if I gave you my email address, wouldn't it? I don't think I have yours. Had to change computers several times and lost all the emails several times.

"This person will see this...."

So, then, they frequent LymeNet and PM you through this site?

Rather than just this thread, official inform the moderators by PM.

If they have your private connection information and have stalked you there, contact your police, by non-emergency phone number.

As they appear to be stalking your family, too, the police really need to be informed.

Apparently, you've already told them to not engage you or your family in any communication.

You ask the stalker to "do you a favor" - that's not what they understand.

Do not communicate with the stalker on your own beyond that. This is a criminal matter for the authorizes now. Check your state / local stalking laws . . . and then the interstate / internet FCC laws.

Ty, Yes the stalker is from LymeNet. Unfortunately, I don't know the person name...she/he never gave it out to anyone.

No, I am not trained in fire arms but I guess I should be; you seem to know a lot about that Tincup! No, I guess no one could stop a bullet.

You do not need their name. Just pass along in an office moderator communication all the posting detail you have here about the posters "posting name" etc.

You can block anyone from sending you a PM by putting them on your ignore list. But it sounds like they have your private communication details, too, for it to be stalking.

With your private emails, the police often can find the identity of the sender.

Do not delete any of their communications to you as that's important for the authorities to sort out. Any verbal conversations, try to recall what's been said and make notes.

If you have past posts or PMs of that person, there may be some clues as to their location - let the moderators know and contact the agency below regarding stalking laws.

----

If the stalker sees this - whether someone who's a regular poster or someone new - whether they have lyme or not - I'm hoping they may see that their actions may seem okay to them but can be interpreted by another as crossing the line over into criminal behavior - and rectify the situation through the moderators here.

And there is counseling available for those who find themselves caught up in this kind of behavior. A therapist / counselor can likely be of assistance. Insight into what drives such action as to harm others . . . and also learning a new way of looking at things, new skills . . . there is a way to turn this around.

I don't have time to seek out similar US
groups, but surely there are some similar to this in the UK:

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2013/feb/17/how-to-rehabilitate-a-stalker

The stalking cure: rehabilitation for a stalker

. . . But Dr Farnham sees them, first and foremost, as people in need of his help. "They're in a real pickle," he says. "They've got in a terrible situation and can't get out of it." . . .

Good heavens, this post is so scary!

How on earth did anyone get your private info? I don't have any of mine except the state I live in and even in signing up did not give my address and such.....

If either have you know how you were identified, you should tell us so we can know how they did it.

If it was me, of course I would alert in a big way the admins here. They are not going to take the info lightly. The other thing is to NEVER EVER give your private info to other people anywhere, especially online.

I have had people email me through the sight and give their personal telephone numbers for contact. I even thought then, that's not a very good idea.....everyone here are internet/board affiliated but you never know who you are really talking to, right?

I'm so sorry this is happening to you! I'll at least let everyone on here know, if they came after me, I've got a 6'5" tough man always with me, a big dog that doesn't like strangers and shows it and I have police in my family that would hunt them down if I ever felt threatened.

I hope you get this resolved and quickly.......

I was a member back before they had private messaging and if you wanted info on doctors and such you gave people your phone number. And sometimes there were fund raisers where you sent money.

It is so easy for someone to hack into your computer an harass you it's not funny! I have had my computer shut down had it repaired over and over...

anyway I said my peace hope you all keep getting better.
