Hello it's Jus' that Silverwolfi,
Hugs to our <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,
I've been undergoing a new experience, May 10th, I was able to be fitted for hearing aids!
Getting used to them is interesting to say the least. The plan now,is for the Audiologist to do an adjustment on them June 8th. right now they are at '80' %. One has to get used to them before they are turned all the way up.
It is definitely different than what I'd imagined. And it is taking some time to adjust. For example, If I had to hunt to get my food for a living, I'd prolly scare the critters away.
Seems just walking is far noisier than I would have tho't, even when I am trying to be very quiet.
Course, much of the plans could change temporarily, depending on what TxCoord finds out from his surgeon during the first week of June. It seems like it has taken forever for them to act.
Meanwhile, he still has a defective knee replacement, with a shard of something poking him from the inside out.
So hopefully the Surgeon can finally tell us what was in the tests that were readable [some were not, because titanium bounces light around during scans].
We will update,on both situations as we find out more info'. I did find out, that music that is up for 'outdoor levels' is to loud for me at this point. And the batteries only last a week. Each night the aids get turned off, and at nap times, for showers and so on.
After speaking to a family member who has hearing aids, they have the same issue, with short battery life. At least for now, mine are provided for,for the cost of fuel to go into town and get them. Which we have to do after the Holiday.
It is interesting that medicaid paid for the hearing aids. There are many things they don't help with. But I am grateful,as the Aids were expensive, and we couldn't pay for them on our own.
If it was a tooth problem, other than to pull them,or if there was an accident. I couldn't get help thru the Medicaid program.
And we have found out, that if a Doctor wishes to do a diagnostic test, and does not agree to what medicaid says they will pay, the patient has to find another doctor who will do it at the Medicaid price,or forgo the test. Sad,but true,we contacted our groups Medicaid folk.
I am still fighting weather headaches, so I don't get out if it is very windy, I wont risk Myoclonus that and any kind of infection seems to bring a problem on...More of Lyme and Co's we all are trying to cope with, I presume.

- The microphone in your hearing aid may be able to be swapped out for one that does not pick up as much ambient noise - if your walking is loud to you from the outside into your ears.
If from internally, that's harder as sound travels through our bones and when the ears are plugs (or with an hearing aid material itself basically plugs ear from both air and external sounds) the sounds coming from inside the body can be louder.
If it's from the inside out, you might ask if some adjustment could be made to allow a little air flow through the aids. -

Hi there <<<<< Keebler >>>>>,
Thanks for the info', and the cordialities too!
I can check on the possibilities of adjusting when I see the Au.D., I wish we could have gotten the type of program for severe tinnitus, but I am grateful that I have any kind of hearing aid. !!

Glad you are adjusting to them, Silver! Such a blessing to have them paid for. I had no idea that batteries ran out so quickly.
Keep us posted on TXCD's surgery!

Can you hear me now?
So glad to hear you got the hearing aids. And glad for the help you received. Wish I had some tips for you, but glad others do, like Keebler.
As for the knee... ugh. Just saw this article the other day where they found Lyme in an artificial knee. Kind of interesting. I would hope (a long time ago actually) they would start looking for it BEFORE doing surgery.

Hi there <<<<< Lymetoo, and Tincup >>>>>,
Thanks for the tho'ts and info'!!
We'll be checking the link shortly, and will keep y'all updated.
VA, unfortunately, will not test for Lyme and Co's. Right now, we are having issues with them getting basic info' back and forth to TxC'. As soon as we hear anything will get updates posted.
Trying to find something to eat that will stay in my tummy and digest properly, this has not been the greatest Holiday for me[ Immodium days aargh]. Hoping it calms down soon, and I'm hoping it isn't contagious.
TxC' doesn't need to be up and down running back and forth, right now. Gonna grab some broth and see what happens ,will try to get back on soon.I want to read that link as does TxC'.
Back in a bit, hopefully. Thanks again to each replier.

I don't think the VA does much of anything for their patients. They especially don't want to find Lyme.

Hi there <<<<< Tinny, and Lymetoo >>>>>,
The link was interesting, we just read it, and VA doesn't do a lot of things. Then they try to hide that they are not doing them.
Lymetoo is right, and one takes a chance if they must use VA resources. Sometimes folks die while they are waiting for treatment. or, Like TxCoord, the prosthetic Knee failed [ he had both knees done, so we don't know if they other one will stay stable.
We were promised the results of a bone scan several weeks ago,and so far no information, nor did they complete the whole scan,as the surgeon had requested. It is beyond frustrating. They only did the one knee scan, and Dr. wants all body scan.
For me, my tummy gut,is still tender, had a bit of broth and just a little softened meat, as I need the protein. Will see if it digests properly. The broth and applesauce I had earlier, seemed to digest. Guess I'll find out by tomorrow.
I need for it to settle,we have to go get my hearing aid batteries,in a couple days, and TxC's appt. with the surgeon is fast approaching too. Seems I must be stressed, so far TxC' is okay.
His knee is another story,it tends to pop out w/o warning. The he has to manually put it back in place.
One issue w/ VA, if we could prove that he had Lyme/and Co's ,and contracted it during his time in Service, they'd have to pay for treatments. They won't even get into it. They refuse to test.
One Dr. actually got red in the face, and walked out of the exam room, hollering over his shoulder. 'There is no such thing as Lyme disease...'. This was very very odd,as we had asked specifically about Bartonella not Lyme disease. This happened in Salt Lake City at the VA hospital.
And we had not mentioned Lyme disease at all. TxC' was concerned about Bart' after being scratched by a couple of kittens, and it immediately became inflamed. The surgeons nurse, for his knees told us it was an allergy.
We ended up re-homing the kittens, so how this other Dr. brought Lyme into the equation we don't know.
It is all very puzzling, and frustrating too. I gotta go for now, will check back in later on.

You can tell the really dumb bell ducks when they don't know the difference between Bartonella and Borrelia, which it sounds like might have happened here.
I've seen that happen often and boy do I like to listen to the lecture they give me, then when it is finally quiet I get to say...
Lyme is Borrelia, not Bartonella. Totally different diseases. Thought you'd at least know that much.
Pow, pow, punch in the nose!
Is there anything we can do to help get the tests you need? Will be happy to help if you just say so.
Have you heard back about the scan yet? So sorry you are being jerked around so much. So very sorry.
And to do this to our vets- it is despicable! Pow, pow punch in the nose!

Hi'ya <<<<< Tinny and Melanie R' >>>>>,
Thanks for the comments/replies, me thinks we needs to be checked in on .
We're needing humorousness right now too, TxC' is stealing himself for surgery [or is that steeling???]. Anyways, it gonna be an interesting several weeks.
I'm still trying to get the tummy-guts to settle down, and A UTI keeps trying to rear up. AArghh...Owowooo, going to get my hearing aid batteries, and some more supplements Monday.
D-mannose is on the list, I had to stop almost everything I take, for a couple days, because it can skew the AZO test. So looking forward to checking it prolly Monday. And then call my Doc' if it is still a positive.
I am hoping it is just stress making the IC/IBS act up. Stress... what stress... said the Zebra as her stripes fell off???
This Wolfi likes zebras, and lions, wolves, bears, uh...marmots, Meer-cats, deer, monkeys,pandas,dolphins...well animals... ya know!?!!
Jus' continuing my Catch-up it's that Silverwolfi here again.
