hi all - I'm looking for an article for a friend. She wants to see that article that showed you could give fibromyalgia to healthy people just by sleep depriving them.
Does anyone know what article I'm thinking of? Please pass it along if so!

Hey Pale...
I did a search here on LN (I'm not good at that), a very quick Google search- make it two searches there- and checked PUBMED for you.
I found this on Pub-Med, but I have no clue if it is what you are looking for.

Thanks, Tincup - unfortunately, I don't remember where I read this before. I think it was lymenet, but I could have uncovered it before I was officially diagnosed and started treatment for lyme...
...in which case it would have been during my worst brain fog last spring/summer. I tried google searching as well, but I don't remember well enough what the article said to find it again.
Grumble. Well, hopefully it will turn up and I can pass it along.
(p.s. I wrote in another thread I am OK with the name Big P if that's easier for you - I like funny nicknames!)

Silver and I attended a conference back in late 90's and the doctor discussed with the group how studies indicated that athletes had their sleep patterns disrupted (can't remember the length of time it took) and that disruption "caused" fibro in the students.
But then the dipstick went on to say that the young (emphasis on "young") athletes recovered fully after not having sleep patterns interrupted (I wonder what that's like) and returning to their exercise regime.
Soooo noisy TX asked "What if the person can't exercise?"
"Studies show that people who exercised . . ."
"Yo! What IF THE PERSON CANNOT EXERCISE?!?!?!?"
"Well studies show . . ."
Dipstick.

So sorry I could not find it. That long ago makes it even harder. I'd assumed you meant something more recent.
