Good morning,

I hope all of you are staying cool during this heat wave. I am so spoiled with central AC.

I walked 25 minutes this morning. Went a different route to get a bit more shade.

Came home, did my stretching exercises, then sat in my recliner and fell asleep. Sorry, God, I missed church today.

Hope you all have a super week. [Smile]

Sunday-Thanks Hiker for starting the thread for the week.

I'm being shunted to Josh's for a couple days. Mom has company and there aren't enough bedrooms. He's doing yardwork today and I could go early and help him but haven't been feeling to hot lately.

Stomach still bothering me and having food sensitivity issues.

See you all tomorrow!

Getting some rain now .. I hope. It's thundering close by. Should be cooler by tomorrow and for a few days.

The AC at church wasn't working properly, but we survived with our ceiling fans.

The youth group left early this morning for their trip back to Minnesota. Godspeed!

Lots of kids today (visitors) but none came back for Children's Church.

Alex showed up to mow in this excessive heat. I ended up going out and raking up the rest of the branches from the tree that fell on my fence. Ay yi yi--hot!

Saw the ENT this morning. Ear tube starting to come out of eardrum, but he said to wait until it falls out and then come back for a new one. Rats.

Walked 24 minutes and it is much cooler here today after a lot of rain and a great lightning storm last night.

Meeting a friend at coffee house this afternoon.

Monday-Still at Josh's. Vegged out and watched Redbox movies. Enjoying myself as long as I don't stay outside to long.

TuTu-Enjoyed the joke about Texas heat. I remember going to one of the country's top shoulder docs in San Antonio a few years ago during the 4th of July. Think is was 115. Basically I stayed in my hotel room.

Kayak-Am struggling with heat and exercise lately. Hope to get some answers soon.

Hiker-Kudos on the walk today. Hate to hear about the ear tube coming out. Hoping it doesn't hurt to much.

Goodnight gang!

Up bright and early for the physical therapy appointment for knee. Diagnosis was chondromalacia and the PT said really the only thing to bring down the inflammation is a steroid shot, but he totally understood where I was coming from when I refused it.

He said the MD had never had someone refuse it before, but even the MD was not pushy about it.

He showed me which exercises to do daily and said to only do them once a day and to keep walking. My kneed brace may help.

He also said to expect right knee to flare up since it is not used to all the exercise. I don't have to go back as I have done most of these exercises in the past and can do them on my own.

So, I came home and walked 24 minutes and did the exercises, ran a few errands and now it is lunch time.

Have a great afternoon.

Hope it will get better. Don't push it. I refused a steroid shot in my shoulder about 10 years ago and the doctor pretty much understood my concerns and said OK. I had bursitis and it went away on its own.

Tuesday-Cleaned Josh's house today. A couple of his old coworkers from another school were coming by today. Also he's having a housewarming tomorrow.

Went to the dollar store and picked up paper plates, napkins, etc. Also made a housewarming sign to stick in the yard tomorrow.

Doing pizza and cake for the guests.

So all in all a good day.

BTW, I don't blame you all for staying away from cortisone shots. I got so many of those when I lived in Alaska that my kidneys hurt and made me bleed.

Yep, never again for me.

Later gang!

Am feeling the pain of my PT exercises already. Those particular muscles are just not used to doing any work. Good for me, I suppose.

Walked 27 minutes as my warm up for the PT exercises this morning and ran a few errands.

My computer monitor died yesterday, so after doing some research on my school laptop, I went and bought another one. Much larger screen than my old one and will take getting used to. Not much choice around here as a lot of the smaller ones were sold out due to kids coming back to school (we have 2 universities as well as a community college and 2 big school districts).

Anyone heard how Kam is doing and where the snake is?

Ak--enjoy the house warming party.

I am encouraged by my MRI and first PT appointment. No tear in rotator cuff. It's an impingement of the nerve in the shoulder (think I got that right). Has something to do with a tendon there too.

The muscles are very weak (true, I don't use left shoulder).. so he used a stimulator and a cold laser. This is a chiro PT, not a regular PT. I know this guy gets good results. I've heard of him before.

Wish I had gone sooner!

Kam is not doing very well. I think she's getting pretty discouraged. She needs money for her car and hardly anyone is donating.

I'll have to ask about the snake. I don't think she's seen it lately.

LP--hope your chemical sensitivities go away soon. I know I have trouble detoxing and just have gotten in a routine of what to take and how much daily. May change when I go back to teaching.

Even though my knee hurts, I have been able to walk without my poles 99% of the time. I even went into Best Buy last night to buy the computer monitor without them, so I think I am getting stronger and able to handle a bit more stimuli.

I really need to get my summer chores done such as oil the teak furniture, wash the windows etc. but am enjoying doing the exercise in the morning, running a few errands, doing small chores, and then reading.

I always find time to read even when teaching, but I have read more this summer than ever.

Vacuumed away my vacation mess from the car today. Am trying to do bits of cleaning as I have an old college friend and her teenage daughter coming this weekend.

I am not used to cooking for more than one other person and my friend is such a good cook herself, I am not sure what to make. I never have milk or juice in the house, but probably should get some for the teenager.

Kayak .. I wish it were easier for you to type on the phone. Is it any bigger than your other phone?

I was also thinking it must have flame retardant on the dress. I am so sensitive to chemicals that it scares me.

Wednesday-Housewarming was a smashing success. 15 of us all together. We all squeezed into the livingroom. Josh was super happy.

I ate pizza and cake and feel sickly, my own fault. Haven't been eating too much lately outside of oatmeal, cereal and brown rice and veggies.

Anywho, no real exercise today, just setting things up for the party and helped tidy up afterwards.

Hiker-Glad you got some walking in. When do you go back to work? Josh starts on Monday. Summer just flew by!

TuTu-So glad to hear no rotator cuff tear. I had a small tear in my right rotator cuff that PT was able to correct. Curious if cold laser and stimulator works. I might have to try it on my bad shoulder.

Kayak-I have chemical sensitivities too. Cigarette smoke effects my brain terribly. Almost makes me have something like seizures. Certain paints, glue etc. do something similar but not as bad. BTW, I recently had a facial rash that turned out to be an allergic reaction to vicodin.

Anyways gang, it's 1:22 a.m. and time for some shut eye. See you all tomorrow!

Tutu--laser helped my shoulder and elbow last year. I used it on my Achilles tendon when they weren't looking, too. LOL Happy to hear it is not the rotator cuff.

The regular PT gave me very simple exercises to do last year that really fixed my shoulder. Hope the chiro PT does that for you, too.

I walked 25 minutes and did my PT exercises. Talked to the man at church in charge of the grounds. He wants to get a friend to fix my fence. I don't trust that his friend will fix it properly as he has never done a fence before (general handyman). We shook on a deal that I would get a fence contractor and the church would pay half.

So, I called the fence company. Then the church man texted me and said his friend wanted to look at it and possibly do it just for the cost of materials.

I am not happy, because I have now given my word to the fence company. I may end up paying the whole thing myself.

Am making zucchini bread. I only have one bread pan and don't really want to go buy another as I would not use it much, so I will bake one loaf this morning and a second loaf this afternoon.

AK--glad the party went well. Am still praying for Kam. I know it is so important for her mental health to be out and about and drive.

Have a good afternoon. [hi]

Is there a reason you dont eat protein?

Hiker. So sorry about fence situation. I under stand. Its impt to be friends with neighbors but they can make it difficult. I have problem businesses on two sides and an empty lot on other side. Love that empty lot altho most ticks probably come from there

Its 82 in here.we both cant breathe. I have to figure out something. Maybe car. The toxin is here. I burn if etta touches me. I gave her a bath but it didnt work i still burn. Even thru my clothes. She doesnt understand why she cant be on my lap

Well. Hope you are cooler than me. Hiker. Wgen i have company its usually serve yourself. Blueberry or apple or peach crumble. And anything you would find on a buffet that can be made esrly and frizen

Hope you have a goid time. Zuk bread freezes good!

Thursday-Ha ha! I did yard work for 1 1\2 hours! Trimmed bushes and pulled vines off fence. So I actually got some fresh air, sunshine and exercise.

Hiker-Way to go on the walking. You're not going to believe this, when I walked into the backyard today there was a huge honking limb partly on the shed roof and yard. Roof has lots of dings but hopefully no holes. Trying to get tree dudes to come out and cut and haul it off the property.

Kayak-I've been having a lot of stomach problems lately. It's driving me nuts! I did eat a small steak and bean sprouts today and so far so good.

Going to an afternoon movie tomorrow with Josh. We're both Trekkie's so going to the new Star Trek movie. I can't wait.

Have a great evening and see you all later!

KAYAK ... Send the dresses BACK!! If you are still burning and can't breathe, you need to get the dresses out of your house.

-

PT is going OK .. in pain, but it's OK so far. He moved my shoulder around and did ultrasound and the stimulator on my muscles.

Tute. I put them outside days ago. After i took them off ftom ha : [Smile] ing them on 5 min and burning after...i didnt want to handle them mmore to mail back. 24 bucks. So thry are hanging way back by carwash...when im not afr as id of them. Maybe during r as in storm. I ll get them in the trash

This it the kind of t hi ing that used to make me think the mold ppl on fb groups were crazy. Boy did i learn a lesson. This is 4-5 days later and its liggter but still here snd it spreads around the house...i think it sticks to my clothes and ettas hair and rubs off where we move. Its creepy. But its less intense. As time goes by.

Some mold ppl have had to get rid of thrir washer dryer after trying washing toxin out of stuff. The toxin gets syuck in mac hi ines and contaminates what you wash

This is nuts. Plus heat. Today is cooler but 86% humidity. I was counting on steady rain so i Cc ould go out and cyt perrenials deadgead weed some and transplant grass. I figured out the grass that stubbornly keeps
Growing in my flower beds g rt ows reallygood in the bare spots in my lawn the construction guys left

Well. I dont feel good in general today. More Than heat, toxin and low sleep. I couldnt even get myself outside for fun
Im petrifued to tell kids. Im a#raid thry would force me into nursibg home

Enough. Im going to do somethibg. Stay cool and away from storms

Ak...eggs are easier to digest than steak. But im glad to hear you did ok with that

When im at my worst i can eat homemade rice pudding...not like real rice pudding. Very little sugar...i use 1/4 of what is called for snd use sugar in the raw. I get irfanuc eggs and milk or almond milk. Its more of a custard than pudding. It was one of things that got me thru diverticulitis. But i did test a little high in arsnic but that is easy to get rid of

I missed it if you know what is wtong with your tummy. Hope you feel better soon

Walked 27 minutes and did PT. The last 2 days I haven't even taken my trekking poles in case I need them. Not sure if that is wise, but am trusting God day by day.

Went to 2 grocery stores. I am so used to buying and cooking for one that I am stressing out about my friend and her teenage daughter coming tomorrow. Oh well, the grocery store is just a few blocks away if they want something. I know they eat as organic as possible and they have access to more organic produce than I do.

Have a church picnic tonight--cooler here but so humid. I will go if it does not rain. Would rather not be stuffed into a house with 30 people if it does rain.

Went to pick the rest of my green beans and they have been eaten by bugs, yet the bugs have not bothered the cucumbers or the tomatoes. Drat. I wanted to serve fresh green beans to my guests.

I am still doing battle with phone/internet company. I signed a new contract and they are not honoring it. Spent over an hour dealing with them today via phone and then on their website with a live chat. Rep from live chat finally said to fax the contract to her. Had to go find a place close by to do that as I don't have a fax machine. Good grief. Does steam coming out of my ears count as exercise?

Off to relax a bit.

Take good care of yourself!

hiker .. yes, I see the steam coming out of your ears! Hope you can go to the picnic .. ours is next Sunday (not this one).

I went to PT again yesterday and I can tell we're making progress. It's painful, but in a different way. It seems more flexible now. He said some of the muscles have atrophied. I think from lack of use...let's hope so anyway.

Raining here and cool.. about 73 degrees! It will be in the upper 80's later. Headed for 97 next week. My cousin and his wife will be here next week from Texas, so they will feel right at home with the temps!

AK ... I do well with eggs. I actually eat only the egg yolks though. One day I will get brave enough to eat the whole egg again. [Wink]

Friday-Didn't sleep well so dragging butt today. Did movie with Josh and he treated me to an early Mexican dinner. I had so much fun!

Now at home and vegging.

TuTu-So glad your shoulder is getting better! I know you're relieved. Also thanks for the tip on eggs. My allergist office called and there might've been issue with the test sent to Mayo. No date or time, etc. I'm worried Quest messed it up.

Kayak-Eggs it is. 2 of you guys can't be wrong. I still am not sure what is causing the stomach problem. Hoping you get to feeling better too. What in the world was on those dresses. Puts a whole different spin on dressed to kill!

Hiker-You spoiling your company with garden fresh veggies? BTW, steam venting burns 425 calories every 30 minutes.

I hope everyone has a terrific day!

I did go to the church picnic last night. Good food and a rather raucous group of parishioners (and no alcohol).

Was hoping to get to farmer's market this morning, but guys from the church next door showed up to fix the fence and I wanted to make sure it was done properly. They did a nice job.

I paid a small amount, but the church will pay most of it, since it was their tree. Sure a lot cheaper than the fence companies I called.

Am waiting for my friend and her daughter to arrive. Scrubbed the kitchen and bathroom, vacuumed a little bit and made a chicken salad.

Am not walking or doing PT exercises today--need a break from that for 24 hours. I did drag the hoses out to water the new trees. The forecast is for rain, but they have said that the last few days and we haven't gotten any.

Enjoy your Saturday!!

All excellent news, hiker! So glad you didn't have to spend money on the fence.

Kayak .. very happy that Etta is doing better. Hope she is feeling perky by tomorrow.

It's very humid .. may rain later. Next week it will be very hot .. upper 90's.
