I KNOW everyone is different and everyone responds differently AND there isn't one thing that works for everyone.

However, I was wondering if some could let me know how long you've been treating and what percentage better you feel?

Trying to get a realistic approach to this and gear myself for what is ahead. I wish I could snap my finger and wake up from this.... Trying to get a mental grasp on what is ahead of me.

Thanks!

How long have you been ill, if you know?

What you said in your first sentence is true! Some are better, some are still treating, some are struggling.

It's my impression that those who can handle the bacteriocidal treatments get the furthest in the beginning. But there are lots of ways to treat.

Basically, this is a marathon, not a sprint. Best to work with a doctor who does some varied testing to see how your body's operating.

The trick really is to find out what works for you.

For example, when I found out I had Lyme, I knew I was allergic to most antibiotics, so I put myself on my own antibiotics that I had in my drawer, clindamycin, and it worked!

In a week's time, I had no more pain, after 25 years! Call me Dr Robin! It was bacteriostatic, not cidal. But I don't have access to cidal meds, so I now manage with turmeric. Plus I have found that a lot of other natural supplements really help alleviate a lot of my symptoms.

Just saying all this to show you we're all totally individual in what we can handle. That's your job - hopefully to work with a good doctor who can partner with you to find out what will work for your body.

I would say that if you completed your treatment in one year, that would be considered quick. (I knew one woman who was finished in 9 months. She still holds the record.) 18 months to 3 years is probably more typical.

And, then there are the folks who have to treat longer.

This assumes you have lyme, babs, and bart and don't run into any situation where you have to stop treatment for months (for example, due to high liver enzymes such as when treating babs).
