Happy Autumn!!

I know it is still hot in the South and Midwest, but cooler temperatures are on the way.

I drove to different lakes this morning trying to find scummy water so the kids can see all sorts of microbes under the microscope. But when I looked at the water, there wasn't too much. Grr. May try again somewhere else later or tomorrow after work.

I am limited a bit because some of the banks to the ponds or creeks are too steep and I don't want to wade through the tall grass/reeds. Some kids are going to bring in samples, too.

Then I walked 35 minutes doing my prayer walk routine. This is where I go through the letters of the alphabet and say one attribute of God and then say a prayer for someone whose first or last name starts with that letter.

Off to cook lunch and head to the library.

Have a great week. [Smile]

Pond scum! Gotta love it! [Big Grin]

The prayer walk is a great idea!

Kayak... I hope you can go to the phone place and tell them where to stick it. You don't need the aggravation.

The screens sound wonderful!

AK .. hope you are due for cooler weather soon. Ours is supposed to come today or tonight. Will be in the 70's tomorrow.

I'm going to hubby's show tonight and some people from church are supposed to go too. Should be fun.

Sunday-Thanks Hiker for starting this week's thread.

I had every intention of doing my exercises but didn't do them. Went walking at Angel's Antiques (indoor flea market) with Mom for about 2 1\2 hours.

I bought some more command hooks for picture frames and cords for cheap. And I broke down and bought me a wig! $25 worth of no more bad hair days! Sure hope I don't look cheesy and creepy. Oh well....it is getting close to Halloween.

Hiker-Like that prayer walk routine. Use to do something similar with church group in random neighborhoods praying for families at each house. That was back in the day.

TuTu-I bet you never get tired of the shows! They can be so exciting!

See you all tomorrow!

Sounds like things are looking up a little for every one

When i started reading about hiker seeking out pond scum it was funny cuz on the mold sites so many are running scared from it. I guess many react to cyanobacteria. However i know a little bit about water since i love the ocean and tidal rivers etc and since my son has been studying it for over 30 yrs and i think some of these ppl are frantic about something that isnt real. I know the cyano is real but i dont think its in every scummy pond. One who seems smarter about it than others and reacts very strongly wont drink lical water or live in a place unless water comes from "underground source"...i think that means artesion well...but im not sure

Anyway...had to go back yo last weeks threadf cuz i blanked on "screens" but yes i am excited about that

Im in awful pain and exhausted from yard sale but i sold only three big items that wouldnt fit in totes(sold them really cheap and gave on ed away) kicking myself a little cuz someone texted late last night they eould pay full price for one but when that
Happens i just figure it was meant tobe and the rught ppl got what they needed

So now all yard sale stuff is safe in two totes and if anyone calls about as something i can find it

I have been quietly freaking out for a few days because i discovered a leak in toilet

I was sure it was wax ring..that is what csused oruginal wet floors here that i had to replace. I was trying so hard not to worry about it and then Sunday while yard sale wss going on the new organuzer lady brought her husband by and thdy figured out it wasnt the wax rung. It was a bolt in tank and they fuxed it

So very busy but goid day for me but i am moving really slow today

Its beautiful out. I love this westher. There was hard frost up north but i dont think it will be here for awhile

There is now a water ban and um not allowed to water flowers but they seem ok. Its been raining a little each week

Yesterdday i had windiws in every room open and blowing aur out

Ok...back to the bills. Hope everyone has a good week

Hope the pain lets up soon, kayak. Sounds like you're making great progress on clearing stuff out.

AK, the wig sounds like a good idea. My hair is short and easy to fix, so I don't worry about bad hair days. It never looks any different as long as I wash it.

The weather here is nice too. 66 degrees at noon is something I love! It's breezy and sunny too.

PS... kayak .. Someone from Augusta, Maine ended up on stage last night!

AK--When I met you this summer your hair seemed to look great without a wig.

Walked 20 minutes after work--breezy but getting cooler. Nice to fling open the windows.

Am punishing myself tonight by watching the Clinton-Trump debate. Actually a friend is coming over and we will consider it entertainment.

Etta for president!

I don't know that this technically counts as exercise, but I made rolls from scratch today.

Something I haven't done in over 2 years. I loved making rolls, but the time and amount of standing and work was too much.

Today I did it!!

Hooray for the small victories.

I agree...etta for president. I am not punushing myself tho

You all sound like weather is ok but the flooding on tv looks awful

I had good intentions this morning...cleaning up from yesterday and doung bills...but some kund of burning chemical seems to be in my house. That shelf was only in here a short time but im nit syre if uts airbirne and coming in doors and windows or if its on ettas fur...ive been washing stuff down and doing laundry all day and cant get rud of ut

Ive had 3 showers...then put new clithes on and took etta to beach...we were fine in car...air was great. But now im sitting in chair i washed today...it has a quilt on it and it is making me burn...

This stuff makes me feel like im going crazy but i think it probably has to do with me being so toxic i as m over reactiong to chemicald...it doesn't feel like mold at all

Its getting worse. I have to get out of this chair. Shoot.

No rain here at all. Texas is getting most of it. Iowa got it earlier.

Sunny and gorgeous here.

Monday-Whew, no exercise sets but did raking, clipping, bagging, cleaned out flower pots, picked up 4 pavers at store and put them underneath legs of gas grill, all taking about 2 1\2 hours.

Josh came over for the debates. I'm voting for Etta too! I don't even know what to say about the debates. I've never seen anything like it before, that's for sure.

Thanks gang about comments on my hair but I've been losing so much of it. I love the wig but have only worn them a couple times.

Well, I'm worn out from the physical work and the debates. See you all tomorrow!

AK--What is causing your hair loss? I guess I didn't realize.

All that yard work counts as exercise.

Did microscope lab today and will again tomorrow. Am too tired even for a walk.

Went to vote against the contract, but I bet it passes. So sad for the younger teachers.

Whew. Busy day here that started early. I was exhausted by the time I got to exercise at 1pm. I almost forgot to go!

I did 40 min on the machine and 12 laps. My legs felt very strong today!

I also went to PT this morning.

I have two batches of friends who are here from Texas this week. One "old" friend and two from my old neighborhood.

We're going to hubby's show tomorrow night.

Wednesday-Chin and triceps exercises done. Me and mom went out and bought a tray of mini mums, couple of snapdragons, parsley and basil. Got those potted and watered the lawn.

My back is really bothering me and can't wait for therapy in the morning.

Hiker-How'd the healing session go?

TuTu-Question for you.....is it OK to do cardio with MCAS?

Kayak-My hair started to fall out in the early 90's. Also have psoriasis on my scalp which sure doesn't help. My hair looks so-so until the wind blows....then a lot of my scalp shows. Ugh!

Well time for me to try to get some shut eye. Night gang!

AK .. I think so, as long as you don't feel any worse doing it. Some MCAS folks are exercise intolerant. I think some break out in hives or even "trigger" from it.

I don't ever get that hot, so I'm OK. They keep it really cool where I exercise.

The last 2 healing sessions seem to have gone fine. No killing of germs, just trying to work on healing and normalizing the body systems. My digestive system is a lot better!

Finished up microscope lab today. Am showing a video tomorrow--whew. Need a break. Next unit is on cells.

Did half of my grocery shopping after school today and will try to do the rest tomorrow.

Glad it's going better for you, hiker!

I went to exercise today and did 40 min on the machine and 10 laps.

Did some shopping afterwards. Going to the show again tomorrow with a long-time friend from Texas.

Thursday-PT went OK today. Well, according to therapist, my back, neck and stomach pain are all related to a locked up SI joint. So he released it and I have a few exercises to do every hour.

So no exercises just my pt stuff. Also no more bending and twisting til I get the OK from therapist.

TuTu-Glad to hear that exercise is OK. Part of my back pt is level easy walking.

Hiker-Glad those sessions are productive. As to grocery shopping, feels good to get that out of the way, huh? I used to go Friday night after work and dinner and I wouldn't get home until after 10.

See you all tomorrow!

My grocery shopping is about every other day. I like to get in and out in about 15-20 minutes...or less!

I'm weird that way. The grocery store is less than a mile away.

I had a really good sleep. Started slow. Had a plan. Then the replacement shelf came and i had 2 out of 5 parts together when i realuzed i was burnibg all over.

I showered dressed started laundry and etta and i set out for beach and good air....it was chilly but ok on sunny side. There were 2 big horse trailers in the parking lot so westayed til 6 horses and riders came off the beach. A youbg man that was with them was near me and we talked. They were from vt. All friends and famuly having a fyn day. A sister has horse farm. He had to go help his mom off horse. She was 67 (like me!) but figh ting lung cancer... [Frown] i had already told the young man of my history with horses and lyme. He kept saying "but its such a tiny bug...hiw can it make you so sick?"-he was talkung abiut a tick...when he left he told ne...dont you give up...you can ride again...he was sweet...it was a nice bunch of calm gentle ppl. Nice.

Then we stayed for the sunset abd came home starved. We skipped lunch and she wasnt happy about that

Tomor 5th ow i have to be sure deoderant almond butter and supps are not covered with burning toxin so i can vribg them in. Im going to try washing shelf in ammonia. Thata the only thing that seems to sometimes take toxin away

Its gonna rain again saturday so im planning to work out in yard. Hopefully i ll accomplish a lot on house tomorrow so i deserve some play time

Ammonia?? YIKES!! [Eek!]

Kayak .. I was wondering if you're using chemicals for ticks right now? On Etta or on yourself? Could that be the cause of the burning?

Sounds like you had a really nice visit with the young man!

Lp--The beach is sounding wonderful and I bet you enjoyed the horses.

Stopped at the 2nd grocery store on my way home from work today. Guess I cook a lot tomorrow again.

No exercise to speak of--not much walking outside this week as it has been windy and rainy.

But, it is Friday and time to relax!

I got to see Kam's new place on Zillo. It looks perfect for her. She still needs a storage shed for her stuff and a washer and dryer....but all in all, it looks like a good move.

I sure HOPE so! Rosie will have a place to run and play!

Yes, it's a tiny house with a pretty big yard. I guess Rosie will be one happy camper! She may have to keep an eye on her though or chain her. The fence is not that tall in one place.

I just hope Kam won't have trouble keeping it heated or cooled. Hope it's insulated enough.

Friday-PT exercises often throughout the day. Me and Mom went to the commissary for groceries and I gassed up my car. Went and picked up my support check and then home to water potted plants.

Kayak-One of my dreams has been to ride on the beach. Don't know if it'll happen with my fractured tail bone and pelvis. Have trouble squeezing my legs together. Fractured pelvis dead center in 3 places. Ouch!

Hiker-I did my shopping today too. Can you believe it's finally getting cooler down here? I'm out of commission until my back is better which sucks. I had plans for repairing and cleaning gutters and some landscaping. Well, guess I'll have to put that off.

TuTu-What! That's great news about Kam. Send her my best wishes for her new home. What a blessing a home can be!

Hope we all have a wonderful weekend!

Hi guys. I might have missed a day...or 2...im frantic about the burning toxin. I havent washed etta showered and done so much laundry in such s short time ever! Im still reacting to her. Her hair is long...i was waiting to cut her real short before surgery but i dint think i can follow that plan

No tute...im keeping my eyes out for ticks since it started to

Rain...im afraid they just dug down deep durung ghe drought and will come bsck now but so far so good...the dirt is still sandy dry 1 inch down.

I spent 2 hrs yesterday and today transplanting. I had trouble slleeping from pain from what i did yrsterday. At 5 am i took all i can take for pain and thennwoke up at 12:30. Etta is such a great match for me. What other dog we ould be happy to sleep 14-15 hrs?!?

Tonight at supper i took full dose of pain meds and ive got heating pad within reach

I got some new stuff in mail.stuff to organize van. Theres a lot of space back there. It didnt seem to smell...im letting it sit be as r the door to be sure before i open it the rest of the way

I tried to find a yard sale that had a pic of a metal shekf that might begood for me. It would be the 3rd one i bought cheap at yard sale. But i got lost and they were closed when i hot there. I hope i can fet there early tomorrow. It will be the last thing i need to buy. Ive been keeping extra blankets snd linen on top of closets and its just too hard now. Shoulder very bad...surgery 11/9...sling til christmas....
Still not alliwed full movement til may-oct depending on how i do

It cost a lot of money but im glad i found thst organizer lady. Its much better here

Yeah! I saw kams house too! She will have more control over things there as long as no expensive repairs come up

I have not done my back exercises once. And i havent bought trekking poles. I am trying to walk better...tummy in ...butt under

Ak...my pelvis ended up pretty well on its oen and i w as able to ride again after...but it was on ed break...not 3. And my si popped ibto place with pt. Do you do the kind of stretch where you stand in doorway?

Hiker we have your rainy weather now...maybe you ll get some nice fall weather. Our leaves are starting to look pretty. I havent seen the news tonight but last night that hurricane was etting big and headed our way

I hope i get to mess around in the yard again tomorrow. I still have things to do insude but it is so nice to not have hot sticky weather

No rain here. Hasn't rained in at least a week now. We could use a bit, but I think none is on the way until maybe Wed or Thurs.

Went to Kohl's today to spend some Kohl's cash and accidentally cut the top of my hand on a shelf. I had to go get a band-aid and the manager went with me to the shelving so he could fix it.

All I did was walk by it and it "bit" me! He put some tape on the shelf. The laminate had turned up on the edge.

He told me to come find him when I was ready to check out and he would give me an extra discount. So I got 20% off and $20 in Kohl's cash. It's nice getting "free" clothes! [Big Grin]

I think it's time to take some old clothes to the thrift shop and/or the consignment shop!

Saturday-PT throughout the day and ran errands with Mom. Took an afternoon nap then went to visit Josh. We did Krystal burgers and 3 episodes of Criminal Minds. I was bad today and had Oreos and milk. Wish I could find an Oreo/Milk 12 step program. Alas, no luck so far.

Hiker-My Mom and I did a little bit of walking today. I didn't park right by the doors at the store like she usually has me do.

Kayak-I've been doing pain pills and muscle relaxers for about a week myself. Also some Elavil and diphenhidramine. Trouble sleeping lately maybe from my back. Back is some better from PT today.

My PT is mainly stretching with pelvis tucked under. Seems to be helping a lot. Therapist also unlocked the SI and C2 joints. Painful at first but getting better.

TuTu-Love free clothes! We must be on the same page again. I'm thinking about heading to my fav consignment shop to look for some jackets/blazers.

See you all tomorrow!
