Hey gang!

How are our wounded warriors doing today?

Had a good day at church, except for the scented spraying monsters. I need to find out how to disable the ones in the narthex. ARRGGHH..

I had asthma all day from it... didn't help that it all began on Saturday when those things were still going full blast.

Hubby and I had lunch at a place where someone had contracted a group to sing for them. It was Western music and the group was great. We had them at our church a few years back. It's a family of singers and musicians.

So we were also treated to Christmas music .. yes, Christmas is in full force here. My favorite we heard today was Feliz Navidad.

Then I got to meet up with a long-time friend of mine I haven't seen in about 8 yrs. She used to go to shows with my mom and I about 15 yrs ago. She's from England and met her husband on a cruise ship. He's a musician here too and a friend of my husband's.

We've planned to go to my husband's show sometime soon. I saw her husband's show last spring. It's really good too.

It was so nice to get to meet up face to face with her again. We drifted apart once she started having kids and was so busy. Now she just got her training as a PT assistant and her kids are now 10 and 12. My, how time flies!

Tutu--Thanks for starting the thread. What a blessed day. The trees are full of glorious colors here now.

Rode the exercise bike and walked some--about 32 minutes total.

Swept out the garage and brought in the chairs from deck and patio. Am doing laundry.

My energy healer texted me yesterday with a picture of a deer tick embedded in her leg. I sent her straight to prompt care and they gave her 3 weeks of doxy. I think Md's are starting to get a little wiser around here.

Time to relax a bit now.

Have a super week!!

Beautiful fall weather here!

I love this thread. I did laundry today and one of my sons wanted to rearrange his room. So he did lots of cleaning out then I helped with vacuuming, etc to get all those hidden cobwebs. yuk!

I also cooked a couple of meals for the week.

Happy Sunday

Your energy healer is lucky to know you, hiker!! Good job!

You were busy, dogs!! I wish I could get myself motivated to organize things better. I've been slowly working on weeding out my clothes. I have to, as there is no room in my closet for them!

Anyone heard from Lp. I know this is a tough time for her and am praying.

Rode exercise bike for 15 minutes after work. Also put one hose away. Left one out.

Monday-Mom had her first cardio doc appt. All went really well. She doesn't have to go back for six months! I am so grateful for answered prayers.

Hiker-I noticed trees changing colors at Ft Benning today. Am enjoying the cooler weather!

TuTu-Thanks for getting us going this week. Nice to meet with friends that you haven't seen for awhile.

I miss my friends back in AK. We had some awesome times and hope to visit them soon.

LoveDogs-Welcome to the thread! Cooking meals ahead of time is always a time saver.

BTW gang, I'm thinking of Kayak too and hope she's hanging in there. Is she going to be hospitalized a long time? I'd like to send her some flowers if possible.

Any who.......see you all tomorrow!

AK--happy for your mom!!

Went to chiropractor after work and then for a walk. A very turtle like walk.

It seems like I have cycles where my legs feel so heavy and I can't seem to lift them. However, since I have the trekking poles, I am determined to get some exercise even if I am slow. Walked 24 minutes on a route that usually only takes me 20.

Kids have been good so far this week at school. Hope that trend continues.

AK .. she should be there at least a few days. I'll make sure I have her address... and will try to find out the address of the hospital.

I saw my allergist today. He signed a letter for me to take to my church. I think the issue will be resolved.

We are looking at buying some air purifiers. One council member made the point that NO ONE should be spewing the air with chemicals. YOU GO, MAN!

AK... kayak found out she was eating foods high in histamine and is reducing them now. She's feeling better and the burning and itching has subdued.

She had never mentioned itching before.. just the burning.

Yes, sorry about that!! [Big Grin] My apologies.

Be sure to keep us posted on the surgery date. I was wondering today if it had been scheduled or not.

I do have your home address.

Try to stay calm. It will all work out.

LP--You know our prayers are with you and if I was there you would be getting hugs as well.

Walked 24 minutes after work today. Still have the heavy feeling legs and tons of twitching and foot cramps when I go to bed at night.

Frustrated at school with one class. I only give homework once or twice a week. Today only 6 of the 25 students in my first hour had their homework completed. In my other 3 science classes only one student did not finish. I don't understand the lack of work ethic with some kids.

Ok--I am done whining. [Big Grin]

Wednesday-My PT was not as bad as I thought it would be after helping Josh over the weekend. My SI joints and neck didn't lock up thank God.

Mom had cardio rehab today and will start next week 3 times a week. I'll be joining her and hopefully working out to if allowed. We walked 6 minutes together. Yay!

Hiker-My therapist said I need to start walking. I really need to get more motivated like you!

Also you were not whining.....just venting in my book. [Big Grin]

Kayak-Anything you need....I'm here for you!

TuTu-I took a picture just for you at cardio rehab today. The picture is of a sign that said, 'Please do not wear perfume or scented lotions to the Wellness Center'. Can you believe it?!

See you all tomorrow!

AK .. That is one place I am usually safe .. cardio rehab. If someone comes in wearing perfume more than once, I will rat on them!

The nurses take it seriously because they have so many pulmonary patients who REALLY can't handle scents.

One thing people forget about are the scented lotions. They are awful!

You will love exercising at the cardio place. I always get so attached to people there. Lots of fun and lots of friendship as you get to know everyone.

I talked to kayak today .. she's busy and is trying to get everything lined up.

I went to exercise and did 40 minutes on the machine. (look for the ergometer bike, AK)... and 10 laps.

Also made a trip to the big city to take my little brown jug to the lab ... lol....

Thursday-Another super busy day! Had a GP appt that went well and then shopping with Mom.

Can we count talking on the phone as exercise?

Talked with my ATL friend for almost 3 hours! Wish I could say its a record but afraid not.

TuTu-That explains the sign at rehab. Is the ergometer bike the reclining one? They had a lot of equipment there. My poor Mom has never exercised a day in her life! This is going to be fun!

BTW, I detest the little brown jug!

See you guys tomorrow!

I am counting talking on the phone. Yesterday I called a company about financial stuff and ended up talking to 4 representatives who could not give me the same answer and I got cut off 3 times. Spent 2 hours on this and it is not straightened out, yet.

Ak--wish I belonged to a gym but I don't think I would get there much due to work. But I would love all the exercise equipment.

I did go to my grocery store that had organic meats and use some great coupons. Lots of walking there.

Rainy and windy here today. Seeing energy healer so will just be a lazy blob tonight.

It was 72 yesterday and going to be a high of 40 tomorrow. Typical Illinois weather and since I live in a flat area it is always so windy. They call Chicago the windy city, but we get more wind here.

Hope Lp has some positive news to report today.

kayak's surgery will be Dec. 6 ... I know that must be a LONG wait!

AK .. ask one of the nurses about the ergometer bike.. It does sit back a bit, but I wouldn't say it "reclines." It's sort of like an elliptical bike.

I can't imagine never having exercised, but that sounds like my mother in law. It's that whole generation!

Had a great day. We delivered our shoeboxes to the collection center and just happened to be there when the OCC regional director showed up!

He was excited to be there when a "large" group (seven of us) came by to drop off boxes and we were excited to meet him! I was over the moon about it since I've applied to be a year-round volunteer with them.

He serves a 5 state region and was planning to stop by 25 collection centers this past week through this Monday.

Going to a new show tonight. It's a river dance type show from Ireland. I have met about 4 from the dance troupe at my physical therapist's. He's trying to keep them all dancing!

Friday-Been going most of the day. My estranged spouse had a medical issue crop up so was at a wound care center from 8-12. Then errands and home for awhile then back out for more errands.

Have a neck spasm (recurring) so having to take pain pills and muscle relaxers this evening and hope I won't be to sick from them. They raise my histamine level.

Hiker-I really need to work out but am having SI joint and neck problems. Think I'm going to start very slow and hope I don't injure myself.

TuTu-Glad you're having an awesome day! Think my Mom saw some river dancers some years ago. I'd love to see them myself. Let us know how the show is!

See you all tomorrow!

AK .. Have you tried curcumin for the inflammation? It helps but does not totally solve the issue. Maybe you could cut back on foods with oxalates too. Oxalates cause immense pain for me.

The river dance show was really super. The musicians were fabulous as well and played instruments I've never seen or heard before.

I've seen the usual river dance shows, but this was about the Titanic. It sort of tied the story in with dance. The Titanic was built in Belfast, so that's the Irish link.

My only problem with the show was the theatrical fog they used. It was about to choke me. UGH.

Ak--Hope your pain resolves soon.

Tutu--show sounds like fun

lp--So sorry you have to wait so long for the surgery. Think positive thoughts.

35 degrees outside with 40 mph winds. Am not venturing further than the mailbox or I might end up blown to Canada.

Alex is supposed to come mow tomorrow, so I will get out and rake the leaves away from the fence then, so he can mulch with the mower. Final mow of the year and then I will be raking the next few weekends.

Saw energy healer yesterday. She was bit by a tick last week and didn't find the tick for a few days and was already feeling symptoms. She says it was not fun, but she thinks the doxy is working. She also understands a bit more about what I and others go through with this disease. She called a friend who is also an energy healer to help her.

Cooking and baking today along with a little laundry. Starting to work on some Christmas cards.

I put my flannel sheets on the bed last night. Heavenly.

That's really sad about her getting a tick bite. I'm so glad she was willing to get on doxy right away.

Flannel sheets .. I think I've only slept on them once. It was nice, but I like to have an easier time getting in and out of bed! [Big Grin]

Pretty cold here too .. not as windy today.. we sent it to hiker.
