October already? Really?
Walked a bit over 30 minutes this afternoon. So gorgeous. It can stay sunny and in the low 70's all year round as far as I am concerned.
Ak--What movie did you see last night with your friend?
I have been praying a lot about whether to continue energy healing and finally decided I would cancel this week's appointment.
Energy healer texted me before I could contact her that she was going to have to cancel this week's appointment. I call that Divine Intervention and Confirmation.
Am doing laundry this afternoon, watching a bit of football and reading. Typical Sunday afternoon for me.
Have a fabulous week.

Hi, everyone! How's the weather in your neck of the woods?
It's warm and sunny here. It will be in the low 80's today. We sure need rain!
AK says she's going to an Octoberfest this month and will be dancing up a storm!
You should have seen the people last night trying to do the chicken dance. I called it "Mayhem on the Dance Floor" on my Facebook page. It was pretty funny.
Most had no clue how to do it, but at least they had fun. Very few people here do any kind of dancing. In Texas, everyone knows how to do the basic chicken dance, shottische, two-step .. and many still know how to polka.
The polka band was very nice .. not really "oompah" music, but German.
Hope everyone is having a good day. I hope to take a nap, but I have to make a quick run to the store first.

I love to polka! And I remember schottiche...maybe not how to spell it tho...I took a dance class in college. Step dancing was my fab even tho it made my feet bleed
I pay attention to stuff like that hiker...and I soon know I made the right decision...
I had a really nice day. I got up slow. I slept in sweats cuz I never got the heater going and went outside first thing to uncover 6 plants that still has flowers. We had frost warning
Etta was with me and couldn't understand why we didn't walk
Then I roasted butternut squash in cubes for a salad the next 3 days with arugala raspberries and grilled chicken. I also baked fish for tonight and 2 more days
Then I went out and worked on wild flower bed...mostly sitting in wc.
Then came in and fell asleep in chair...beautiful sunny day...great air..36% humidity
I have pre surf appt with primary tomorrow
Then cleaner who broke her foot comes Tuesday to clean kitchen and dining room.
Then see surgeon again wed
I think I missed a k s last post. I 'll go see if I can read it. Next time I get up I'm giving Etta a bath and making muffins

Sunday-Dropped off movie, picked up 2 gallons of water and made pepper steak for dinner. Also repotted one of the house plants that's been outside this summer.
Easy and relaxing day.
Hiker-Thanks for getting us started and way to go on the walk! The movie we rented was 'A Cure for Wellness'. Suspenseful but I'd put it in the horror genre. To much adult themes and I wish we picked a different movie. I love the movies at the library, more my speed.
TuTu-I'm going to have to check out that 'chicken dance'. Haven't done the polka since the 70's so will have to brush up on it. Thank God for YouTube! I took a country line dancing class in AK and when we graduated we all went dancing. A friend of mine tried to two step with me but I kept stepping on his toes.
Kayak-I'm getting hungry reading your post! That salad sounds wonderful! What kind of dressing do you put on that? When I'm good I do walnut oil and apple cider vinegar with a liberal amount of pink salt. On bad days I use blue cheese.
Hope everyone has a great Monday!

AK.. The Chicken Dance actually originated at the Octoberfest in Germany. It's a more current phenomena. (not hundreds of years ago)
I find two-stepping a bit harder for me. I didn't grow up with it like most Texans did. I never went to country dances as a kid.
Polkas and waltzes are pretty easy and seem more natural to me. I love the Cotton Eyed Joe too .. you'll have to You Tube that one!!

I went to doc...cleared for surgery by primary...step 1.
Then I ate the butternut squash salad for lunch...it was really good. A little harder recipe than I am used to but it was really good.
I had to change a few things cuz of mcad....dressing was 2 T orange juice, juice of one lemon,2 T oil (it called for walnut oil but I used 1T coconut and 1T olive...)and I used 2 T of pecans instead of walnuts
I also sauteed some chic in coconut oil cuz the pecans were not enough protein for me
And I couldn't find berries that weren't moldy but I have great peaches and cut up 1/4 of one and it was good
There's a whole cup of squash in each serving and that makes it very filling.
I couldn't handle a walk with Etta or any gardening. I took her out in wc and let her chase leaves and smell for chipmunk for about a half hour. There's a sea btlreeze. I really wish I could go to ocean but I'm resting cuz I have to pick up kitchen and dining area so cleaner can deep clean them tomorrow
I seem extra tired today...but whenever I have an appt and have to go in nasty building and be around ppl I end up not feeling well. I wore my mask the whole time cuz I tend to get mold sx from that office

I'm on a roll... This is the polka band my husband helped start back in the late 70's. These musicians were some of his high school students. He helped them start a polka band and they've been playing ever since. They are called the Seven Dutchmen.

Monday-A super busy day of errands from 1:00-8:30. Paying bills, picking up repaired items, grocery shopping, etc. Whew!
That's gonna be my exercise for the day.
TuTu-The polkas look harder than I remember or is it because I'm a lot older? Love the chicken dance! I sure enjoyed the links!
Kayak-I use walnut oil too! I'm gonna have to try your dressing. I've never used orange juice before and it sounds delicious! I enjoyed your link, it got my toes a tapping!
Hiker-Thank goodness the dreaded Monday is over!
Have a great night everyone!

I managed to sneak in a 28 minute walk after work. Just made it home before the rain came.
Am not complaining. We need the rain.
Kids are supposed to tie-dye t-shirts tomorrow afternoon. Hope it either clears up!
Ak-days of chores and errands are very tiring.
Am going to record the PBS show about ancestry tonight. It features famous people. I think Bernie Sanders is one of them. I am not sure how many episodes, but I enjoy that kind of show.

AK .. If you are talking about the 7-step polka, that one is very unique. There's only one tune for that dance. Most bands will never play it.
Hiker .. We got rain too!! YAY! More on the way. We were at church working on the shoe boxes and it started pouring down.
Had Bible study on Revelation today. It was excellent .. more to come. .. Then we worked on the shoe boxes until about 3 pm. We are putting calendar photos with Bible verses in the lids of the boxes.

I like the cotton eye Joe with the 4 ppl. I don't understand which one you like tutu
I'm going back to watch the links or I 'll get too tired to finish this
I just ate my 2nd day of butternut squash and chic salad. It was really good again. This time I had raspberries and it was even better. I think I'm going To double the lettuce. There's so much squash and chic I think I need more greens
I'm nut supposed to have walnuts cuz of histamine a k. Otherwise I would love walnut oil. But the salad is good with olive and coconut oil
I'm excited about tasty new food. For yrs it seems I have eaten boringbsimple meals cuz I don't have energy to cook and clean up with all the work on the house. That is mostly done now til next spring when they hopefully finish siding and windows on back of house
I still have totes but they are packed away and labeled and when I get my energy back back I need to do the back room...that used to be my office but was turned into a junk room
Anyway...that p.s. series sounds good hiker but I didn't notice it...I 'll look
An...walking like that...getting In and out of car many places is not something I could do
Tutu....that tag you sent on fb re oxalates andbmuscle pain got me all excited...he stopped only 3 foods and notic3d huge change...I've stopped many more and not seen a difference...but maybe I just haven't hit correct combo yet. Still hopeful
I guess I should try to do something. Cleaning lady talked a lot and wore me out. Heater man worked in same room at other end and couldn't fix heater easily cuz he didn't have much time. He said he will come Back In a week and is confident he can fix it. That's fine. Warm weather forecasted
Ok. See you guys tomorrow

Tuesday-Another busy day! Started before 8:00 to drop off my car at the shop then walked about a block to my house. Brakes needed to be cleaned and reinsulated to stop squealing.
Trimmed bushes and more errands.
Hiker-Way to go on the exercise! That show about ancestry sounds interesting.
TuTu-Loved the new links!
Kayak-Walnut oil is so expensive but I love it on a salad. Just another thing I shouldn't have along with my teas. Course I'm still using both.
Hope everyone has a great evening!

Hiker .. glad you got some rain. We did too. Not a lot but it will help.
Kayak .. ? I can eat cherries, but none of the others.
Raspberries are high oxalate and strawberries are high histamine.
Congrats on getting money back. That never happens to us anymore, but it's because hubby makes money that is not taxed very heavily during the year.
Went to Bible study here at our condos. We're studying Romans. Also ran some errands and got the oil changed.

So that's my exercise for the day.

Was going to my acupuncture appointment this morning, but my MCAS tummy stopped me short. I went back to bed and slept until 1 pm! It's a good thing since I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night.
I've been home all day and feeling better, but now I have to find something safe to eat. I'm watching the Astros beat the Red Sox in the playoffs!

Thursday-Egads! Went to war for 2-3 hours with about 30 ant hills! First I marked the biggest ant hills with nifty flags my Mom made out of printer paper and bamboo meat skewers. The first wave of assault consisted of liberally applied Amdro ant killer. Final stage was almost boiling hot water deployed directly onto targets.
It took a long time to boil all that water, not to mention the trips back and forth from stove to targets.
My feet hurt! Sending pix in the a.m.
TuTu-Do you have trouble sleeping too? I wish I could take my sleeping pills but I itch and break out after a few days. I resort to liquid melatonin, advil pm and sometimes inositol. Sigh......
Hiker-I recently added SAMe to my supplement protocol for detoxing. Also when I juice I add powdered chlorella. Haven't juiced lately and miss the benefits of the juice, chlorella and spirulina. Hope you feel better!
See you all tomorrow!

I concerned about tincup. I feel so stupid. I sent the small amount I could and it posted my name. Everyone else says anonymous...I never saw where there was a choice
I'm moving totes back to tent after repacking and labeling. I will be able to use office again. It was a mistake for organizer to push me into turning that into a store room. Its turning moldy cuz it was so packed there was no airflow
Hope you feel better tutu and Everyone has a good day

I'm watching the Astros beat the Sox again!!
And since someone on a Texas FB page posted this, I'm enjoying the Cotton Eyed Joe! I posted the dancers the other day, but here's one of the best bands in TX playing the song at Billy Bob's in Ft Worth. (a HUGE dance hall)

Enjoy your LONG weekend, hiker! Woohooo!! I hope your Cubbies win. The Astros did! Boston is still in shock!
Good job on the ants, AK .. and the totes, LP!
I have heard that boiling water works well for those ants.
Now I need to get busy around the house. I did manage to wash the sheets. I sure had fun watching the Astros. I don't get to see them very much here unless they are in the playoffs.

Friday-Started bright and early with a phone call from fence guy. Had our chain link fence repaired and afterwards it was errand time.
Picked up 4 pots of maroon colored mums and my RX's.
Repotted mums when I came home.
Then it was weed and feed time for the lawn followed with about 1 1\2 hours of intense watering.
Now I can hardly move and just took a pain pill and muscle relaxer.
Kayak-I take either Advil or Tylenol with diphenhydramine plus Xyzal in the evening with no luck. I guess pain pills, muscle relaxers and sleeping pills are one of my many triggers. Also I'm worried about TC too. I met her back in 2004 I think and was greatly saddened by her health and hardship she's enduring right now. I'm very handy with tools and would help her in a NY second if it wasn't for my Mom. Case in point, she didn't turn off her sewing machine and when I came in late this afternoon and I smelled something burning. It was the motor! At least it didn't catch fire.
TuTu-I can't take Ambien. I do the sleep eating and what's even worse apparently I tried to get in touch with my first ex. I called a bunch of folks and left messages and have no idea what I said. I don't even remember calling! I was appalled when my first ex called. My life couldn't get any lower.
Hiker-I just got off the phone with Josh, thinking he had Monday off too. Well the kids do but it's teacher planning day for teachers. Sheesh! Give those poor folks a break!
FYI, hot water worked well and what hurricane?
Night my friends!

Ran errand this morning.
Cooked and did 3 loads of laundry.
Vacuumed the car.
Did a little bit of weeding until the storm blew in. Very windy and rainy now.
Watched Iowa kick Illini's butt in football and will watch the Cubs play again later.
Read all about Tincup's hurricane nightmare. Makes me very sad.

AK .. That is scary about the Ambien. Thankfully, I've never had trouble with it.
How do you leave a sewing machine on?
PS .. you could be reacting to the NSAIDs (Advil).. many MCAS patients do.
AK .. Hurricane NATE is on its way to you. Less watering for the yard coming right up!
Yes, very sad about Tincup. I hope and pray she gets all the help she needs.
Hiker .. Did the Cubs win?
I think the Astros play today. If not, I'll be happy tomorrow! We lead the series 2-0 .. woot woot!
I went to church and worked on OCC for a bit. Getting things organized, cutting off labels, etc. We are way ahead this year, but also doing MORE boxes than ever. We have a goal of 300. Last year we did 239, so we are happy with anything over that.

Oh! That hurricane! Yep, it's here and raining this evening. No meeting at church so went to friend's house and ate dinner and watched 2 nonscary movies. Yay! Watched 2 really good movies, Gifted and Event Horizon. Liked Event Horizon best because it's based on a true story and showed the real people at the end. Both movies choked me up a bit.
Hiker-I'm following TC's posts on one of the links and it broke my heart. She's such a wonderful person.
TuTu-Way to go on the OCC project! As to the sewing machine it was really weird. The only reason I saw it was because I went in that room to close the blinds and heard a noise and smelled something burning. There was to much tension from the thread on the needle because the foot was down. Motor was running and needle was trying to move and soon as I lifted the foot release it started sewing away. Don't understand it because it has a foot pedal and a leg pedal to boot. Scared my Mom because she said that has never happened. We don't know what caused it.
Kayak-Why do we overdo? I'm kinda upset with myself for pushing myself way to hard the past 2 days. Feel better today but still took a pain pill, muscle relaxer and half a sleeping pill. I'm still worn out.
Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!
