LP--Thanks for starting this week's thread.
Hope you muster up some money from your sale, but it sounds like a deal.

I walked 25 minutes this morning before church.

Sermon at church was about being disappointed with God. Pastor gave no answers except to say I am in good company with Abraham, Moses, Jonah, Peter, Paul etc.

I haven't been to church in several weeks and it felt good to be back.

Am off to library this afternoon and will watch some football, read, and do some laundry.

Told Alex not to come mow today. Still too dry and hot.

Have a great week! [Cool]

I've been doing 30 minutes on treadmill at the citizen center six days a week. I can only do about 1.4 walk rate and heart rate of about 113. hey, I'm trying. it ain't easy lugging 220 pounds around. I did learn one thing.

stay the hell away from saturday. it's overrun with screaming kids. people parking on the grass and street. kids playing soccer, basketball, mothers and fathers everywhere.

kids are not allowed in gym room but guess what? crawling over treadmills etc.

so saturday is out.

I'm too old, grumpy, and can't take all the noise.

have to find another place. hopefully it will cool off again and I can go to the lake.

it was terrifying.....lol

Randi...220 has been my goal for awhile!

I found my liscense!!!

Still not sure about cards

Got rid of a lot more little stuff

Packed the rest up...most of it went to free pile. The carport and shed will need some attention...but not till it cools down. It was 90 today and will get more and more humid til thurs...then finally cool down

I should go to motor vehicle and get a paper for taxes tomorrow.but its a hard place to get to

And call cleaner girl to see if she can do kitchen wed or Fri. I know I have appt with surgeons nurse this week.

I'm trying to figure out how to eat paleo and still be low histamine....I'm not sure what to do about oxalate cuz I don't feel any different when I eat high ox and urologist says not to worry ... The little stone I have is really nothing to worry about at my age.

Aspirin has never bothered me. I hope that means salicalates are not a problem

If I have too many foods I can't eat I think I 'll just quit and eat everything. Its too hard to get and cook any food....if give up if it was too complicated

Hope a k keeps getting better

Nice to see you randi!

Hiker...I noticed my lawn was actually green for the first time all summer. Thanks to recent Harvey and Jose rain

Sunday-Thanks for getting us started Kayak!

Couldn't get onto Lymenet Forum last night for some reason. Circle timer on my tablet just get going round and round.

Did one load of laundry and made dinner for me, Mom and Josh. Josh brought his laptop to read a chapter for one of his classes. We watched the premiere of Star Trek Discovery and enjoyed it very much.

I grilled some steaks and did potatoes, corn on the cob and salad.

Hiker-I've enjoyed myself at church with my friend. We stay for service after our support group meeting. Month of October the sermons are going to be about Joseph. I can't wait!

Randibear-Way to go on the exercise! Have you tried a cardiac rehab gym? I pay $25 a month when I go and children are rarely allowed and can't use the equipment. Nurses will tell them to get off. No mirrors either except where yoga and dance classes are held.

Kayak-Yay! Glad you found your license. Now just to locate those CC's! Happy your yard sale turned out profitable. They're a lot of work! BTW, I struggle with foods too. I love Earl Grey and English Breakfast teas but they make me feel off. Certain foods, meds, odors, etc. are always going to be an issue for me too until they find a cure.

You guys rock! See everyone tomorrow!

[group hug]

Put out free stuff

Put ads for it online

Started to prep bed in back for wild flowers

Went to motor vehicle To get paper. They gave me a hard time. Not sure if they are mean or sick. Probably sick. Very old building. Its 90 out and humid. This was hard to do.

Getting toenails cut now

After I rest need to do 1 load laundry and pick up kitchen/dining room so girl can clean. It will be easier tonight when cooler.

I've already had 2 naps so I should have energy.

Good to hear from you a k.

After feeling good this weekend, my legs feel like lead. This always happens when I release some sort of toxins.

Was on my feet all day helping kids use microscopes, so I pray my legs are better tomorrow as we are using microscopes all week.

Going to have some prayer time as I am very cranky.

Kayak....That's sad about the DMV .. I am so blessed here. My friends in Houston complain too. It's easy here as long as you don't go on the last day of the month or close to lunch time. The people are always nice.

Congrats on more selling! Our friends brought the last of our junk from our storage bldg. I'm finding some really cool pics from the 70's .. but MANY MANY photos are destroyed. Our storage room had water damage.

It's almost a blessing .. they hauled stuff away to the dump. If I had seen it all or knew what I lost it would be hard for me to take!

I am still hoping beyond hope that my HS yearbook is there. Most likely it is NOT .. but oh well. It was the one with Patrick Swayze in it since we were classmates.

Tons of jewelry findings... way too many!! Whew!! Most of it is angel parts .. and many complimentary parts to complete the angels are no longer available.

Sure enjoyed the small box of photos though. They do have mold .. so I'm having to be careful. Probably dead mold.. but still.

AK .. Hope you are having another good day!

Hiker .. I hope you can figure out why you feel so crappy! I was dragging all day because I had NO sugar yesterday and then none today until I finally caved this afternoon.

I was using sugar to boost my energy. Bad idea. I'm tired of looking so puffy and FAT. Such a new concept for me! UGH!

Soooo...onward forward. It's supposed to get cooler in another day or two.

Monday-I was a vegetable all day! No exercise and did nothing productive.

TuTu-Can't believe you went to school with P S! Hoping you find your yearbook. Most of my stuff is in my Mom's shed in the back yard. I really need to sort and repack one day. I packed in such a hurry that some of my kitchen stuff is in garbage bags.

Kayak-I love wild flowers! Do you use a seed packet of mixed ones? I've never planted any but think there so pretty.

Hiker-I sure hope your legs get better! I get cranky when I'm tired or hungry. I try to keep a lid on it but sometimes I'm not very successful.

Hope everyone has an good night's sleep!

A K ...I had trouble getting on l n too.

Tutu...be careful of mold! You don't want to react to more than you already do and it makes everything worse. Wear mask and gloves!

Hiker I feel so bad for you having to work with this disease

I can't imagine. I think I'm doing great...and I am for me...ifvi can cross one thing off the lust a day. I am sooo slow. No employer could handle it. But I just keep going...slow and steady...and I'm ok with that

Am I the oldest of us? I'm 68

A K I've been scavenging wild flowers. I have some from the beach and some from around here. I don't do very well with seeds. Too many birds I think.

The wildflower bed is about 9'x9' and next to my old shed...that has a skunk living under it...

I'm making 9 squares and planting whole plants I scooped up. I need to get a better book to learn names. Digging in dirt is good therapy for me...as long as I don't run into ticks. None since June

So...I dug a little twice but it is very hot. Someone took all the free stuff except books and tabletop. Yay...less work for me trash day.

I confirmed cleaner is coming Friday

Tried to order apples for my brother in Alaska but they are calling me back

Ordered last present for grandchild...Fisher price basketball hoop...she has really long legs...my son said they have so many toys they don't care about them. So I'm going to open savings accounts instead. Just send cards and maybe $5.00

I'm also ozoning room nasty chair was in...so glad it is gone but 24 hrs of fan blowing air out did not get rid of nasty smell...ozone has worked in the past

Rest time is over...back to cleaning up.

lp--you sound really busy.

Tough day at work. Parent cried at conference. Student cried later about parent's divorce.

Some student broke a prepared slide and no one would fess up. I don't get mad as long they come right up and tell me, but now I am mad.

On my feet most of day with microscope work. I love it, but it so hard on me.

90 out again today but cooler tomorrow.

Maybe I need to buy a respirator mask. I keep thinking I would need one if we ever had a fire in our area. It's scary living near state forests. We have had very little rain in the past 4-6 wks. No rain in the forecast for next week.

The temps will be in the 70's beginning tomorrow. Next week it will be back in the 80's for a bit.

Do you guys remember "rosesisland?" She's still stuck in the Virgin Islands. No power for the past 4-5 weeks. I think she lost most of her belongings to the hurricanes.

All she wants right now is to get off the island.

I'll give you a link about Melanie Reber's sister once I get permission from her. She was on St Maarten under the eye of Hurricane Irma. It was BAD. She posted a blog story.

I got some errands done this afternoon after exercise. I did 37 minutes on the machine and 6 laps.

I'm getting an echocardiogram tomorrow and a 3 week heart monitor. Been having a few extra beats lately. Saw my cardio last week.

I'm very itchy today and I think it's from eating a danged apple. Sigh.

AK .. I hope all is well today!

Hiker .. That is sad. I remember having a conference with a parent whose child was severely burned prior to her being my student. She cried when she told me what happened. I'll never forget it. The girl was badly burned on her face and arms. I'm sure it was all over her upper body. They had a space heater that caught her bed on fire. [Frown]

Tuesday-No exercise today. Just made brunch for me and Mom and went to the movies later with Josh.

We saw the movie IT and outside of the scary scenes I enjoyed it. Had character development and of course the classic theme of good vs evil. I didn't realize it's a two-parter with the last installment in 2019!

Kayak-You sure are busy! BTW, I have a problem with mold too! I have an air purifier that filters, ionizes and UV's the air. I smell mold in the bathroom and think its coming from the sink cabinet. Water damage somewhere in there.

Hiker-That had to be tough to deal with at school today. Even though I'm crazy about kids am glad that my divorce just involved me and ex.

TuTu-I used to cut grass wearing a respirator years ago. I kept getting bronchitis and pleurisy so had to wear one.

See everyone tomorrow!

Early meetings this morning and then spent the day working with kids and microscopes. That wears me out.

Tomorrow the kids look at pond water under the microscope and every year we see microbes I have never seen before. Fun, but tiring.

I did not exercise today. Too exhausted.

Another slow and steady day for me. Got trash out...had breakfsst and got going in kitchen. Last week when cleaner worked 6 hrs we kept pushing things out of her way towards kitchen and dining area. It has really piled up

I made a dent. Emptied 3 totes

I need a rest tho. I will probably work from wc when I get back up. I'm not sure if cold front is coming thru tonight or tomorrow night...this is 4th day of almost 90. When front comes thru we get a week of fall weather

I wonder if I can sneak in a few days camping at beach before they close

Tutu...I didn't know your heart was acting up! Good luck tomorrow. My echo s aren't fun but I like doing them every 3 yrs...since I'm always out of breath and having chest pain and high lipids

An sounds like you're bouncing back. That's good

Hiker...I still feel bad you're working. Hope you legs improve soon

AK .. you are tougher than me. I can't watch scary stuff .. and for sure nothing violent. [Smile]

hiker .. You sound so tired... but let's see... How many more months to go? Countdown!!

LP...Yeah, it's not bad but it keeps doing weird flip flops and stuff. Too much heart disease in my family to just ignore it. Strokes at an early age too.

The echo was easy except for the shoulder. I think it will be OK tomorrow though. I hope so.

They gave me the heart monitor and an instruction book. They told me what to do, but I'm on my own! HA! I said what do you do when you have an 85 yr old person taking one of these home?

She said they often come back for help .. duh...

So .. I need to go do that. I'm supposed to call the company that handles it. I have to carry an extra cellphone around too. Oh joy. One more thing to pack around. [Big Grin]

Three weeks .. ugh .. I worry most about the sticky pads on them! My skin is pretty sensitive.

This monitor is fairly small. It's 2 X 2 1/2 inches.

Wednesday-Made lunch for me and Mom and then headed out for the day.

So my exercise was shopping for about 3 hours at just 2 stores. At Goodwill bought some Levi shorts, a purple vest, another gardening book and a long black wool coat all for $20!

Found a T-shirt and some face cream at TJ Maxx for almost the same amount of money. [Frown]

Hiker-Hang in there! Poor Josh is frazzled. I had no idea what teachers go through until Josh started teaching. They catch a lot of grief from the school district. Constant changes with more and more work for the teachers. I'm sending you a hug!

[group hug]

Kayak-Wish I could go to the beach with you! I've been kinda tired lately and still can't do much cause of the eye. I keep thinking of all the things I need to do and have to force myself to sit around. Ugh!

TuTu-I'm way to old for scary movies now! My favorites are foreign films and the movies from the 1940's and up. I do watch action adventure but the new ones are so violent!

I hope wearing the heart monitor is productive. I had a reaction to the adhesives but it wasn't to bad.

Night gang!

[sleepy]

4th day of microscope work in a row, but so worth it.

Knee hurt and am tired, so tomorrow I am giving a pretest and a worksheet at school. Need a quiet day!

I do not like scary movies at all. Prefer action and comedy and the occasional romance.

Off to get dinner ready.

Finally made it to the gym after a 2 week absence.

Upteemph relapse. Fatigue, Tinniutitus, spinal cord pain. . .

Fighting, wishing, remembering before Lyme.

Could only do 50 minutes. Assorted weight resistance machines. Worked up a sweat. Yawning the whole time again?

Honestly, I don't know how anyone can hold down a job with Lyme disease. Everyday is a crap shoot on how your health will be.

It's so heartbreaking that the only ones that truly understand are fellow sufferers. The system refuses to help us. [Frown]

BB--50 minutes is a long time to exercise. I certainly couldn't do that.

I think we all wish our lives were like they were before Lyme; it is a tough reality that they are not. The only thing that gets me through are God, family, and friends. (and good books to read)

I took a year off of teaching when I was at my worst and every single day is a fight for me to get through the day.

But being single, I felt I had no choice but to go back to work and at least at work I do get social interaction that I lack otherwise.

Hang in there. [group hug]

Thursday-No exercise, just cooked dinner and did a load of laundry. Also got a haircut, yay!

Thought I was visiting a friend this evening but she was wore out after work.

Hiker-I love RomCom's myself and can easily watch 2-3 in a row. Sometimes they make me a bit depressed but every now and then I have to have my fix.

BB-Hang in there! I was able to go back to work but another health issue reared it's ugly head and am going to try part time. Lyme takes a toll on your body, mind and spirit. I kinda think most everyone here on Lymenet is their own personal hero.

You guys made my evening!

You are right, AK .. We are all our own personal hero. I like that!

I know I wouldn't be able to work right now. I had to retire from teaching at age 43. Pretty sad. It sure hurt us financially.

I went to exercise today and did 37 minutes on the machine and 10 laps.

Met friends from Minnesota for the show tonight. They came down last year too. They always come to our church services. That's how we met. Very nice couple. They live very close to South Dakota.

My stomach was giving me fits all day. Hope it's better tomorrow.

Nite, everyone!

Tutu--Hope you enjoyed your friends and that your tummy is better.

I dashed to the bank and library during my planning period and had 20 minutes to spare.

Went grocery shopping after work. Only a few "naughty" items leapt into the cart today.

Watered my newer trees and will drag hose out again tomorrow to get other plants. We had only had 1/2 inch of rain this month.

Am worn out and plan to read and watch Illini play Nebraska in football tonight.

Have a good weekend.

I didn't realize how many days I missed here. I'm kinda grouchy. Stuff keeps going wrong and I try to make lemonade and then something else goes wrong...yuk

I did walk Etta today probably 20 min no walker or cane...its been awhile since I did that

And I started to get the kitchen ready for cleaner...got 5 hrs sleep I think and then kept pushing and she texted half hour before she wasn't coming

Sooo...I relaxed a little...and regrouped...paid some bills...made plans to buy the rest of the siding. In Dec it goes up 20 or 30% I won't have money for windows til spring but at least I 'll have the siding

I picked daisies lavender butter and eggs and white roses and fixed them in 3 vases in the house

That was my reward...

Then I put the exercise room back together...I've been ozoning it and blowing air out for a week since I got rid of evil recliner

The room didn't seem to be burning me so I put my zero gravity chair in there and I was really comfortable until I realized I was starving and forgot about supper

I've been working on new recipes and had eaten healthy at breakfast and lunch...so ...talk about naughty food hiker....I went and picked up a pizza. On the way I stopped at grocery and got local zucchini cabbage and peaches...I have apples and meat...so it could be worse

My heater isn't working tho and it will be 40s soon...and tomorrow rain and raw...I'm going to try to cook and freeze all day to warm house up

I think I just pushed wrong button on heater but can't find book....I should have called company today...they probably won't be in til Monday. I'm sure we ll survive.

After eating I grabbed a clean quilt to put on daybed and didn't realize I had used quilt to cover evil chair....and it picked up burning...and the 2 ways I washed it a week ago did not remove the burning

Grrrrrr!!!!!! Just when I was ready to cuddle down my whole body started burning. I tried ignoring it and wiping it off with wipes but it didn't work

So now I'm in detox bath...so sick of this

I know a k and tutu have mcad...and I'm seeing a pattern on the fb group where ppl with Lyme go to mcad and many end up with this burning toxin they call he'll toxin.

At first the docs and scientists that talk about it kept saying it was caused by mold exposure and that never seemed right to me

Now the science is pointing toward metals and emf and something called nano partials

I don't understand it at all but it makes more sense to me

It might even explain why the flight attendants had trouble with their uniforms...and why I can't find a new chair that doesn't burn me and why I can't buy anything made of fabric now

Almost anything. So far I can still but Hanes. Just my size. And some llbean stuff. Also I found a pair of cotton pants at penny's for $3.00 !!!

I know Etta is still carrying a little of the toxin around. I need to give her a bath...hope I get it done tomorrow when kitchen is hot from cooking

I said all that In case any of you start reacting I can point you to place they study it

Detoxing helps. But there's more.

Tomorrow is the annual run for James Foley...the first journalist who had his throat cut

His parents have done an incredible job of collecting money and then using it to teach journalists and college students and others wh go over there to help how to be as safe as they can

I hope everyone has a good weekend. From the knees down I don't itch. I sit in my shower chair in the tub. I have to get the rest of me wet now

And there's a glitch in surgery set for 10/19. I won't know more til next wed

Lp--You have a lot going on.

I'd be ticked if my cleaner canceled on short notice.

I thought you just got new windows?

Hope you can still get the surgery when you want to.

Glad the flowers perk you up.

Friday-Me, Mom and her BFF drove about 40 miles to hunt for treasures at my favorite indoor flea market. So my exercise was about 4 hours of walking around. Had so much fun and found a big flower pot and an eelskin purse.

TuTu-It's so hard to adjust financially! I hope and pray I can find something easy. On of my friends is retiring next year after 40 years in civil service. I haven't been able to work steadily in years! Yay on the workout too.!

Hiker-TGIF! Your evening plans sound wonderful. I love to read and am chipping away at that Norman Mailer novel I bought this year at a second hand store. It's about 1300 pages! I've got to get in my 24 credit hours of online classes before January too so I might finish that book next year.

Kayak-I love flowers in the house! Makes me happy just to see them. Way to go on the exercise too. I bet Etta enjoyed herself.

Is 10/19 your shoulder surgery date? Please keep us in the loop.

See you all tomorrow!

10/19 is a simple surgery to fix mastectomy scars. I think the doc is excellent but I was meeting with nurse and she couldn't answer my questions...I didn't have many...

she told me she was new and got a more experienced nurse but she was saying things I didn't understand so I have to meet again with doc next week. I'm pretty sure i 'll still have surgery. My daughter and her hubs are coming then instead of Christmas week like they usually do

Honestly...as disabled and as much pain as I have from shoulder I just can't face a big sugery with 1 yr recovery

Maybe when my house is done I will psych myself up for that

I miss kayaking...but the cipro wrecked my bicep muscle on the other side...so I'm not sure if fixing the shoulder will get me back in the water....maybe I 'll try for a kayak trip on my 70th bday!

Hiker...I'm busy cuz it takes me so darn long to do anything...most ppl don't even think of all the steps there are to one task...I have to break everything up into parts and chip away...takes forever...but if I write it all down I feel like I've actually accomplished something

The bath last night got rid of burning skin and sleeping in small room with big air filter got rid of burning breath....I feel like dragon lady when this happens

Its raining today and 50 but I can't wait to get out in yard and play

It will be 80 again next week and I 'll have to stay in

A K are you going to school online? I hope you can find a job that works out for you

I tried a few simple jobs after I retired. I ended up in hospital after working at a plant nursery in 100 degree weather...seemed like every muscle in my body went into spasm at the same time! I couldn't even get out of bed. Ent guys had to break in and deal with Kris and Dylan trying To protect me

I trained to be a convenience store clerk but I couldn't learn all the names of beets and cigarettes and the lotto stuff. Couldn't do it...I guess cuz it was so foreign to me

I tried to volunteer reading stories to kindergarten kids too but it was too long of a walk to get into building.

It is HARD to work with this stupid disease

Not sure why I rambled. Time to go buy siding. I hope everybody has a good day...and a restful day for hiker!

lp--If the windows are bad aren't they under warranty? You shouldn't have to pay for new ones.

Are you on meds that would keep you out of your yard when it is 80? I know I don't like heat.

Off to start my day. Back later.

Had choir rehearsal this morning, worked on OCC stuff at church, brought things home to work on also.

Watching the Astros this afternoon. I rarely get to see them here. They will be in the play-offs though, so I will get to see them more now.

They just won their 100th game this season the other day!!

Going to an Octoberfest this evening. Hubby is playing clarinet in a band. Most of the guys are professionals here in town. The band leader is his band leader in one of the shows. It should be fun and I'll get to see some friends I don't see very often.

Tutu--Now don't be swigging all the beer at Octoberfest, you wild woman. [Big Grin]

Dragged the hoses out to water. Then got the water bill this afternoon and my eyes nearly popped out at the cost. Sewer rates went up, but with no rain, I have had to water more than usual.

Crabapples are full of fruit and oaks are dropping so many acornsthey need to be raked rather than mowed over. That usually mean a winter of heavy snow.

Did my usual cooking fest and then walked for 20 minutes. Spent a lot of time jawing with my neighbor who works for the same school district I do and is also unhappy with our district.

Alex is here mowing. It's been 3 weeks and hopefully he won't have to come back for another 2-3 weeks. By then the leaves will be falling and he can mulch some with the mower and I will rake the rest.

Off to relax a bit.

LOL .. Well, even though we Lutherans love our beer (NOT ME!).. I think they are serving non-alcoholic beer.

(This is at the "other" Lutheran church in town.)

I won't be able to eat or drink anything they have. Guess I need to find something to eat here real quick.

Hope your meals turn out good, hiker!

Saturday-Errands with Mom then support group meeting, church and a movie with my friend.

No exercise yet.

Kayak-Thought it was the shoulder surgery and was feeling for you! Those are tough to recover from. In regards to my online classes, I have to complete 24 credit hours every 2 years to maintain my insurance license. Only by the grace of God I passed. One year my Lyme was so bad I didn't remember any of the material I studied and thought I was taking the wrong test. I could barely read, understand or remember anything. It was tough.

Hiker-My Mom complained about our $90 water bill. I know it's from watering the yard. I'm going to Octoberfest on the 21st at Ft Benning GA. I'll be the one eating snitzel, drinking beer and dancing the polka. I'll try to take pics and send to everyone.

TuTu-I brag about my plans for Octoberfest but I'm sure I'll pay! I'm going to take extra benadryl so hopefully symptoms won't be too bad. Am going with my support group friend who was born in Germany. Meeting other friends there who are also half German. I'm so excited!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
