Thanks, AK!!

Regarding this:

"TuTu my Mom's GP is now using one of those awful glade plugins in the waiting area. Ugh!"

Call them to complain! Tell them they are poisoning people ...it's true!

Kayak .. I left you a sweet message yesterday on our thread. [Big Grin]

Had a nice day at church .. Came home after lunch and then went to the OCC Drop Off Center to take the two boxes that came in. I offered to help, but they didn't need anyone.

I'm off to take a quick nap! Going to the show tonight with a close friend of my college roommate. He's from San Antonio.

Came to my folks this afternoon. My brother and his wife are here. We got out the Christmas decorations from storage area.

Mom had a tooth pulled 2 weeks ago. Idiot oral surgeon pulled the wrong tooth. I am calling dentist tomorrow, as it may be her fault. She may have told the oral surgeon the wrong tooth. Unbelievable.

Time for some snacks and wine for dinner.

Hiker...I don't even know what to say. That is horrible. Its not like it can be fixed. I've had 3 pulled in last few yrs so its hitting close to home

I have similar frustrations with docs. I guess we all do...But still awful

Tutu. I 'll go check that soon

Much slower day today than yesterday. I was out about 4 hrs total....drizzle and some pouring rain....

Etta was with me part of time but she mostly didn't like it out there

I took a break from spreading mulch when the front came thru to let Etta chase the leaves

I spread the mulch under half the Scotts pine. And collected odds and ends to take to Mulch pile

And planted these weeds...hiker called them weeds...but late in fall they made tons of yellow flowers that the honeybees loved....they were in a bad place tho. So I broke them up and planted them In back along fence in 4 places

I wanted to fold up 2 tarps but it was impossible in this wind so wed is supposed to be nice. I 'll do it then

Everything looks a lot better

I rested In between and changed cuz I got soaked

Tomorrow morning I have pt and she will work on lymph

I did more stuff but I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open

I got In trouble on fb too. Still am confused about that

Hope everyone has a good week. I have to figure out what to do on Thursday. Probably go to beach

Prayers for AK's mom tonight.

Early Monday Morning-Mom's EKG and enzymes were not indicative of a heart attack but even then have to keep an eye on her when she takes Nitro. ER doc said possible acid reflux or heart so recommended Zantac or Pepcid and if that didn't help the chest pain to take Nitro. Said Nitro could have opened arteries to much hence the fainting.

Also they xrayed her back and she has another small fracture at T7 and more compression at the old fracture at T12, either from when she fell tonight or from osteoporosis.

I'm so very worried for her. Thank you all so much for the prayers!

Thanks for update a k hope she keeps getting better

Tutu it was windy! Still is. I wanted to go to beach to relax late but I was afraid a tree would fall on me yesterday

But I braved it today...still gale winds. Beautiful tho

So today I had really good pt...she did lymph massage and taught me why I can't use ice or heat on right side where cancer was...also did a lot of massage on shoulder...it felt so good. She said its pretty bad but there are things we can do so surgery goes as good as it can

But I can't face surgery for awhile. I had 3 in last 11 months

My brother goes in hospital tomorrow at 5 a m not sure what time surgery is but doc said it should be about 4 hrs

Hope things are going good with you hiker. I'm curious to heat the explanation that dentist has

Ak--praying for your mom.

Lp-Praying for your brother.

My mom was incorrect. She thought because an upper tooth hurts a lot that the surgeon removed the wrong tooth. I took her to the dentist today and had xrays of all quadrants of the mouth and all looks fine. May be referred pain. So, the correct tooth was removed.

It does show how much my mother has deteriorated mentally. Sad.

I did enjoy time with my brother and his wife!!

Came back late this afternoon and raked the front yard, despite the wind.

Am skipping school tomorrow and will head back to my folks on Wednesday.

Massage sounds so heavenly, LP! I'm with you.. no surgery until it gets so bad that you can't handle it anymore.

AK .. I hope your mom is feeling better today.

hiker .. That's good about the tooth .. whew.. It's sad to deal with dementia.

I'm very glad you are getting to go visit them for Thanksgiving.

We still need to find a place to have dinner that day. I can't even remember where we went last year. I won't get to eat much of anything good anyway, so I don't care.

I went to the drop off center again for OCC today. I got to pray with a few people over their shoe boxes. I love doing that!

Then I met hubby for dinner .. early evening.

Tomorrow will be busy. Have to clean up our room at church .. you know, the one I destroyed for OCC purposes!? [Big Grin]

Then head to exercise at 1 pm .. and then Bible study at 2:15 .. gotta get busy doing the study .. right now!!

Monday-About 4 1/2 hours sleep. Mom in bed all day except to eat some. Talked over the phone with cardio doc's nurse about 'hearburn'. She spoke with doc and he doesn't think it's heartburn but angina and put her on Ranexa for that. So new med which could cause some dizziness, etc so keeping an eye on her. Also they told me to get her to a spine ortho who squeezed her in for Wednesday.

So we're hanging in there the best we can.

Need sleep. Thank you all!

Well mostly good news here I guess. Could be worse.

They took my brother in at 730 so he should be out by noon. His wife will call me

Today is sunny and will be 50 and not too windy. Later I will reward myself for cleaning house by letting myself go out and spread mulch under last 5 pines.

It will be easy and fun....the guy I paid dumped a load between each tree so I use a light tool to spread it with one arm

And it should be easy to get tarps put away. I might go to craft shop and buy a few Styrofoam thing y s to make a green arrangement for in house and maybe small kissing ball for in front of slider

I'm not good at that. The neighbors were so happy when I gave them my trimmings from the pines I feel like I should try to learn

Ok...gotta deal with this mess. Clothes drying all over the place cuz I can't use washer dryer. Can't find important kitchen stuff since it got packed up when they put in new window. Slow and steady. Hope I make progress without undoing my shoulder massage yesterday

I need music to motivate me I guess

Positive thoughts and prayers to all of us today!

lp--Glad your brother's surgery went well.

I played hooky from work today. Had a bit of a sore throat, but raked leaves for over an hour and then vacuumed the car.

Went in to work at the end of the day to talk to my great substitute and stayed an hour to get some paper work done.

No school until Monday. Hurrah!

Tuesday-Hello my friends! For exercise I did some twig and branch picking up in the yard. So maybe 35 minutes of that.

Mom's been in bed most of the day except to eat. Her new med doesn't seem to be causing any unwanted side effects.

I took a generic Elavil last night and slept from 4 til 1 this afternoon! Groggy but feel so much better from the rest.

Kayak-You guys are having a heat wave up there! Kudos on all the yard work! Thanks for keeping us up to date in regards to your brother. Relieved to hear his surgery went well. Inquiring minds would like to know what you're jamming out to!

Hiker-Wow! Super productive day! Josh and my SIL are also sickly. One of the downsides of working with kids.

Well, let me go check on my Mom and see if she's getting hungry yet.

See you all later!

[hi]

My brother finally woke up. He's in a lot of pain but to be expected I guess. His wife was brining him a sandwich so he must be ok. She's a great cook...so he probably won't tolerate hospital cooking

A K ...I just turned on ipod...its been hooked up for 5 yrs and i couldnt remember how to turn it on. But when kids were here for surgery my son in law taught me how to turn it on and off....I can't change what its doing yet...so it started with old country...the judds! And after awhile it turned to my st patty music and I just couldn't handle that now...its thanksgiving! So I turned it off

I couldn't resist being outside and did more in yard and shed

I'm glad you got a little rest but you need more. And glad mom is ok and resting

Tutu hope you find some good food!

And hiker hope you have a good holiday...I get a kick out of how you go to school on your days off...I wonder how you're going To handle retirement

My sister in law retired last years...40 yrs teaching kindergarten!

Then this Sept she took a 3 month maternity sub job....

Sounds like things are looking up today!! Glad to hear!

I had a busy day .. Got the room cleaned out and went to exercise too.

At cardiac rehab, I had someone brag on how talented my husband was. They saw him for the first time in one of the shows this week.

Then someone gave me a huge compliment concerning my walk for Christ. Wow .. just when you think no one notices! I feel so blessed by her words. Thank you, God!

PS .. Hubby found out he will be hired back for one of the shows. They fired someone .. hired someone else. It's always scary. He's even been "hired back" and then fired before the next season began. (that was real fun)

He's worried about his other job too .. but at least he will have ONE! He may lose his lead position, but not the show. That may make him mad enough to quit since there is no reason for them to hire someone else for that position.

OH!! I even got a free T-shirt today! A lady at our Bible study gave us each one. I love it. She and another person in the group bought 150 T-shirts to give out!! They got them really cheap, but I don't know "how cheap." Some store in AR was selling out.

So .. what a day!

Now I need to get MY HOUSE in order. What a slouch I have been! I need a big paper chase.

It's too late to do what my friend Jill says, but I thought you'd like to see this video. Jill is our OCC Area Coordinator.

Our area's goal is 60,000 shoe boxes!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlm1QbDS9zI&feature=youtu.be

I found out that our county .. the drop off center where our boxes go ..and the one I worked at this week collected 12,000 shoe boxes!!

That is so exciting .. up 2,000 from last year!! Go God!

Hubby is off this week .. I think until Saturday. We need to find a place to eat on Thursday!! If I hadn't destroyed my Instant Pot, I could cook some turkey legs!! [Big Grin]

Tutu--I told my sister-in-law about the Instant Pot. I think she may buy one.

OCC is a great organization. The local Christian radio has been advertising for it lately.

Glad I raked leave yesterday. Went out for a short while to rake a few more, but stopped after the truck came by to suck them up.

Am at my parent's now. I am going to take a friend to dinner. She is actually my junior high P.E. teacher, but we became friends when I was in college and played on summer softball teams together.

I am looking forward to the dessert this local restaurant has--gluten free chocolate cake. To die for.

I m going real slow today. I went out early to the small grocery to see what I could get...all the stuff I used to make for family didn't sound good at all but I have a broiled cauliflower and Brussels sprouts recipe (with olive oil dry mustard and coriander from a friend...and I bought a butternut squash and icecream to put on and apple crisp I have stuff for...also bought a yam and I have organic chic breasts

I really want cranberry sauce...didn't buy any. The bag is so big...I may sneak out in morning and see if I can find a small jar...

Last year at thanksgiving in gave away the $1200.recliner

This afternoon I stuck a free ad in for 3 folding outside chairs and an extra heater I have and some garden stuff and someone came for it in 10 min

Maybe this will be my new tradition

I'm very relaxed andrelieved I can do whatever I want. Livingroom is still not clean. I've been working on laundry...esp linen.. The machine is ok I think and I am using the all and Dr bonnets and baking soda and so far do good

And MY BROTHER WALKED TO DAY!!!

He's in a lot of pain but they say surgery was a success...so greatful he's ok

A K hasn't posted...hope things are ok there today

You guys have a good day tomorrow!

Hiker.. Sounds great...enjoy your family and your friend. I hope you have a nice day tomorrow.

LP .. You are making progress .. so good to hear about your brother too!

I hope AK and her mother are OK today.

I ran some errands and got my phone "fixed" .. I did an update and it was annoying me by making it harder to open it up each time. I had to wait 30 minutes to get help, but I was determined not to put up with the stupid phone for another 5 days!

I hope we can find a good place to eat tomorrow because I'm not cooking! Our tradition since we moved here is to eat out.

[Big Grin]

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I'm watching the Glenn Miller Story... I haven't seen it in awhile. Nice movie.

Happy Thanksgiving-Super busy and felt like a racehorse charging out of the starting gate as soon as I woke up!

Took Mom to Ortho spine doc and he ordered a bone scan for next week. She's in a brace already so he said he didn't have to order one and I told him she already has pain meds. He'll determine what to do after test result.

Quite a few errands afterwards, snuck in two loads of laundry, made deviled eggs and baked and sliced my ham already for tomorrow.

Hiker-Hope you have a good time at dinner with your friend. You can never go wrong with chocolate in my book!

Kayak-Like your idea of starting a tradition of giving this time of year. I kinda miss my own footloose and carefree single days. I'd kick back with a bag of popcorn and some oreos and watch a movie.

TuTu-I wish I could eat out! I told Josh when it's down to just the two of us we're going to Cracker Barrel!

I'll be thinking of you all here on this thread tomorrow!

[group hug]

Well, I survived the meal. I had two rounds of salad. The turkey looked OK, but it was that stuff you can buy in the store that has dark and white meat together in a roll.

I KNEW that wasn't safe. I ate about two bites. I ate one bite of dressing....way spicy. Ate a small portion of potatoes. Two or three bites of carrots that were seasoned like sweet potatoes. I had two rounds of salad. Thank God for salad.

Then I finished it off with banana pudding. They also had ham and brisket, but I don't do well with that either.

I think I'll be making my own Christmas dinner this year since we will be home.

Found this on the internet and it really says what a musician goes through. Well said.

"Musicians are some of the most driven, courageous people on the face of the earth. They deal with more day-to-day rejection in one year than most people do in a lifetime.

Every day, they face the financial challenge of living a freelance lifestyle, the disrespect of people who think they should get real jobs, and their own fear that they'll never work again. Every day, they have to ignore the possibility that the vision they have dedicated their lives to is a pipe dream.

With every note, they stretch themselves, emotionally and physically, risking criticism and judgment. With every passing year, many of them watch as the other people their age achieve the predictable milestones of normal life - the car, the family, the house, the nest egg.

Why? Because musicians are willing to give their entire lives to a moment - to that melody, that lyric, that chord, or that interpretation that will stir the audience's soul. Musicians are beings who have tasted life's nectar in that crystal moment when they poured out their creative spirit and touched another's heart.

In that instant, they were as close to magic, God, and perfection as anyone could ever be. And in their own hearts, they know that to dedicate oneself to that moment is worth a thousand lifetimes." -David Ackert, LA Times.

Love the blurb on the musicians.

I sure enjoyed dinner out with my friend last night. The restaurant is local and sadly, is closing soon. One last hurrah there.

I walked 30 minutes today. Cold and windy but sunny. Love the park here.

Thanksgiving dinner at the retirement center was good--standard turkey, cranberries, mashed potatoes, green beans and java ice cream for me.

A high school friend was here at the retirement center to eat dinner with her mom, so we sat and talked for an hour. So good to see her. We will hook up again at Christmas. She lives in my folk's town.

Am going to either take a nap or sit and read awhile. We will have snacks for dinner and I think dad will pop open a bottle of champagne.

Blessings to you all.

I'm ok. Walked Etta half hour...that is long for me I used walker but wasn't leaning on it at all til the end when shins hurt

I havnt done much today. I cut up up cauliflower and brussel sprouts but I didn't have coriander...I thought I did but it was cardamom...so I have to get some tomorrow and cook them

I have way too much food. I baked my largest organic chic breast and there's about 4 meals in it. I have huge bowl of butternut squash. I have to freeze what I don't eat tonight. And I found stuffing and boiled onions left from last year so I cooked them too. Creamed baby boiled onions is a thing for thanksgiving dinner around here. Well...it used to be. My mom taught me and I liked them but none of my kids ever liked them

I didn't get my apple crisp made. Maybe tomorrow

I got a lot of bedding and rugs washed and potted these 4 baby polka dot plants in a nice pot

I manage to clear out one spot of living room or dining room but so far can't get it all dine at once

I'm glad I'm not stressing over company. I just wish I was better at keeping house right

I'm glad every one seems to be having a good day.

Tutu...why aren't you going to Texas for Christmas?

You guys are making me feel like a slouch! HA!! Hubby dropped me off when we went to eat .. he was being sweet because the parking is up a hill .. with steps.

So when we came out, he was going to get the car and I said thanks, but I need to walk! So I climbed those stairs like I should!

Tomorrow I need to walk somewhere. When I went to exercise on the 21st, I saw that my last time there was Nov. 2nd!! EEK!

We slept this afternoon...why not? [Big Grin]

We aren't going to Texas because hubby has to play for New Year's. The star of the show and her husband manage the theater .. so like most here, they are offering a New Year's Eve show.

It should be pretty good. It will feature all the people who have shows there.

PS .. We will leave for Texas on the 2nd of January.

Oh....my aching tummy! What DIDN'T I eat today? I ate ham, turkey, dressing and gravy, mac and cheese, sweet potato soufflé, field peas, squash,
2 yeast rolls, cranberry sauce, olives, pecan AND pumpkin pie dolloped with whip cream.

Exercise can't help that!

Oh....

[shake]

I am sick enough from a few bites. I can't imagine how bad you must feel!

Take some Pepcid or something.

Came back to my house today from the folks.

Stopped at grocery store and forgot 3 items that were on my list. Will go back another day.

Although very windy, it is sunny and 63 out. Walked 22 minutes.

Put out a few Christmas decorations. Seems a bit early to me, but I have the time now.

Off to take a little nap.

I was going to go to the grocery store today and I had the thought last night that I really need another pair of pajamas. Always good to have a standby.

My standby set is paper thin!

So .. I thought why not stop by Kohl's? Oh my. Easy shopping, no fighting people off .. nothing. But the checkout line circled the store. The wait was an hour and a half!!

Sure met some nice people though! So many connections. The bass player's sister was two people behind me (she lives in Texas) and we even saw the "star of the show" .. The people in front of me had lived in Texas in Houston and in Victoria.

Small world, indeed!

So... I saved my husband $142 !! [Big Grin]

Got my pajamas, two long-sleeved T shirts (to go under my short sleeved T's) .. another top and a flannel shirt for hubby...oh, and a bracelet set. I really did get some good deals.

I was just happy I didn't pass out or anything. My new friends allowed me to get some water and take a potty break. Whew! I hadn't had anything to eat in hours, but I made it.

I'm home and cooking some chicken legs.

Hope everyone had a good day!

Um. A K. How's mom?

Been thinking about you guys.

Hiker 63 sounds great...hope its coming this way

Tutu...well that will be nice to celebrate and then go visit

I was very slow today. My must do list was buy coriander
Make apple crisp
Walk
Detox bath
Fix 2 plants I over watered...hope I didn't kill them

When i realized it was black friday I decided to wait on the coriander. Not worth it.

I watched a movie about a l s and I hope it will help me appreciate how much I can move. Its true story and on Amazon and she is still alive. Her sisters are helping research. The title is Jenifer...on Amazon

I invited neighbor that gets my groceries over to sit in son and chat. And gave her some apple crisp

I realized while visiting I'm quite different. I have had word retrieval and word finding problems for a long time. But today my speech was just slow and had no expression. I kinda felt like I was drunk....I'm taking less meds now. I've been off Gabapentin for a month

I 've taken 3 Tylenol in that month when pain was hard. I have taken Tylenol in years

I made some progress in living room....but back room is getting very very full. I'm considering getting a storage again.

Anyway. Just feeling blah. I tried to walk Etta but legs didnt work cuz of walking I did to clean house

Ok. Had my half hour rest. Gotta get back to it

Take care. Ps. A K. How's ma doin?

lp--If your back room is full and you aren't using everything, why put it in storage? I am always of the mindset if you don't use it often, lose it. LOL

Watched another sappy Hallmark movie tonight. The channel is having 5 nights in a row of new movies. I forgot to record the one on tonight, but have the other 4.

Hope your blahs go away soon. Holiday time can be hard.

Tutu--You are made of sterner shopping "stuff" than I am. I don't go to stores on Black Friday. I actually do most of my Christmas shopping on the internet. I only buy for my parents and my brother and his wife, so it is a lot easier that way.

I think I am going to try and decrease the amount of ACZ nanozeolite gradually. My energy healer, whom I have not seen in August, emailed me to ask how I was doing. She said to listen to my healing intuition when I mentioned this and do it gradually.

Perhaps if the body doesn't use as much detox stuff it won't want to shed toxins for every little thing. My body is going overboard with my immune system and detox systems, in my opinion.

Off to read a little. I ended up napping way too long this afternoon and will probably be up later than usual.

I agree, hiker .. LOSE IT, Kayak! You've been on a roll of getting rid of stuff you don't need. Don't stop now! [Smile]

hiker.. this is the second time in 21 years that I have shopped on Black Friday. No Christmas presents... all for ME. LOL...I just needed some jammies and didn't want to pay full price. I rarely ever pay full price on any clothes.

I did buy a shirt for hubby. I spent $7 on a $35 shirt.

AK ... How are you and your mom doing?

Friday-I tried to go shopping once on Black Friday until I saw the length of the line to get into the mall. Ridiculous! Nothing worth that much of a headache!

Me and Mom put up all our Christmas decorations today. Took us all afternoon because we took our time. Got the outside lights up but switch is going bad so hoping I can find someone to fix it.

Mom was lightheaded today and pretty slow moving. I think it might be from her new angina med. Will keep a close eye on her.

TuTu-It sounds like you got some really awesome deals! I don't think I've ever waited that long in line for shopping. Probably did for some rock concerts back in the day though.

Kayak-I still have some word retrieval issues too. Sure is frustrating. Might have to check out that movie , Jenifer.

Hiker-I've been having to pay more attention to my body too. I notice a lot of foods, drinks, activities, odors, toxic people and negative thought patterns affect my health. Don't want to end up a hermit living in a cave somewhere so taking things a day at a time.

Well, just wanted to say I survived Thanksgiving 2017! Wasn't the worst year for unabashed gluttony, so feeling better today.

See you all tomorrow!

[hi]

Looks brand new.

BB--Way to go on the car cleaning. I need the inside of my windshield cleaned and it is at such at odd angle I can't reach it (Yep, I am short).

Walked 22 minutes again.

Cooked up some chicken and lamb patties.

Sat down and rewrote my address book. It was a mess.

Ak--Send us a pic of your house with the lights on outside. Do you like colored lights or white lights?

Am now watching Illini football. Last game of their losing season.

A K ...good to hear you guys are ok...moving slow is ok. I'm getting used to it

BB...good to see you back. I had to empty my van today. What a mess. I have a bed in it and when i took it out I could see the wood was moldy.

So I ended up Stuffing it all back into car to ozone it. Tomorrow I have to seal and paint the wood on the bed. It comes apart in 2 pieces so it is light but its going to be 30s tomorrow so I will have to do it in kitchen

I have major problems wiping the inside of the van. This time its kinda important. Maybe I can find a Craigslist person to vacume and wipe it

But first I have to find someone to put my new plastic storage shed together

I was depressed last night after trying To make space for stuff

Tutu...I'm still getting rid of stuff. But since i realized I can't buy furniture or linens or most clothes I decided to keep the extra bedding and curtains and anything fabric that I'm not allergic To cuz I'm going to have to use it in the future

I'm still so miserable without a recliner chair. Its so easy to get away from pain in a chair like that for me.

But...that's why I bought the storage thingy. It will fit in my carport so I can get at it in winter. And about 10 totes will fit in it I think. Its 82 inches tall...

I also need a good place to keep my tools. I had them under daybed but now that I'm starting to have company...I should have a mattress there.

Once winter hits I need to reorganize all my papers...and hopefully throw a bunch of stuff a way. I've been afraid to depend on keeping important papers online but I guess its time. Then I can probably get rid of another 10 totes

And pictures. They are everywhere...but I'm afraid they are moldy so my plan is to organ ize them and make little blurb books. That will take up way less space. Blurb.com

No walk today...Etta bit me and made it bleed. Puncture. I talked to get. The plan is to have groomer see if she can see any skin problems next week. And if she can't vet will try to figure it out. She begs to be patted and scratched but then off I hit a spot she attacks me. But the spot moves around. Hard to figure it out

Ok...she needs attention. I just got out of detox bath so supper is late. See ya. Oh...my brothers home. He's allowed to walk as much as he wants and lie down. Not supposed to sit. But pain is controlled
