AK ... Glad you got some rain out of the storm!
That really is weird about the sewing machine. Maybe you should take it in for servicing.
I'm watching the Astros!! The first player up got a hit! Woot! If we win this one we are on to the next series.
Church was interesting today. Hubby was too sick to go (he's the organist.) So I did the song leading and we did fine without the piano or organ at the early service.
Second service was a bit off because our 85 yr old ex-organist stepped up to play. You probably know the rest of the story.
I also met a woman from a church near KC and she wants to do OCC with her church. I was thrilled to share ideas with her.
Astros 1- Boston 0 (Two players up and one score so far...I'm liking this!)
(PS .. hubby was blessed with a kidney stone which he evidently got rid of .. he's feeling better now .. he had fever last night)

Tutu--Your poor hubby. Glad he feels better.
I decided to go see my folks. I have a splitting headache, so I am already regretting this decision, but am here.
Walked about 30 minutes.
Go Astros!

Sunday-Still tired from yard work. Heated up leftover curry for dinner, made a salad and veg and that's what we had for dinner. No exercise and hope to rest tomorrow.
TuTu-Thanks for getting us started! Glad to hear your hubs is feeling better! I didn't make it to church this week. Wanted to hear the next section about Joseph. Used to love that old Dolly Parton song about the coat of many colors and always think of it when hearing about Joseph.
Hiker-Hope your folks are doing ok. Enjoy your long weekend and have a some fun!
Well gang, time to veg! I'm wiped out!

Whew .. I took one for the team tonight. Went to the big awards show. Got a free ticket gratis of hubby's second show. He was playing show #1 tonight.
It was 4 1/2 hours long! I am serious! Exhausted!
It was nice though, and show #2 won Morning Show of the Year .. I was wishing hubby could have been there to share the limelight because Show #1 didn't receive any awards this year.

Tutu--I would never make it through that long of a show.
I enjoyed time with my parents. Each time I go home I can see they are slipping a little bit more. And that makes me very sad.
Drove home in pea soup fog, but then it cleared up so I did some weeding. I only lasted 45 minutes between getting overheated and having to squat.
Am waiting for furnace man to come check the furnace (and it is 80 degrees out--lol).
Will watch the Cubs in a few minutes. I am rooting for the Astros, too. I think I World Series of Cubs vs Astros would be awesome!
I decided to take tomorrow off work. The lesson is an easy one for a sub to handle and I feel so exhausted and fried right now. Truly burned out on school.
I decided to take a few sick days here and there, since I won't get paid for them when I retire. It makes me feel like a bad teacher in a way, because I am not truly sick, but I am so mentally and physically exhausted that I think it will help. 34 years is a long time to teach and I am just ready to be done.

It was LONG, hiker. Sheesh! I think they will make some changes next year. It's always close to 4 hours long but this one was not managed well. It may be due to the fact that the original producer of the show passed away last winter.
I guess no one with competence in keeping it moving was available. It was a fun show, plenty of entertainment, but we actually had TOO much entertainment and tons of awards to give out.
Not bad for free though! Got to rub elbows with all the bigs .. some internationally known. One of my other favorite shows won a big award too, so I was happy.
THE ASTROS WON !!! I could go for a Cubs/Astros World Series .. but FIRST we have to win the next round and it will be TOUGH!!

I got a second wind after the Cubs game and went to the library and to recycling and cleaned the bathroom.
Just finished up a load of laundry. Hoping to sleep in tomorrow.
Am now watching football. Yes, I am a sports addict!

Glad I stayed home today, although I was unable to sleep in. Have had a tummy ache and a bit of a sore throat all day.
I did go to the Senior Citizens's Rec Center and pay my $30 to join for a year. I could not use the fitness room as I need to go for an orientation on another day. That is one hopping place!
I did walk 20 minutes inside while I was there.
Went into work at the end of the day to grade a few papers and get lab ready for tomorrow.

Tuesday-Ran some errands and went to the commissary with my Mom. Mom had a meeting to go to with her BFF so I'm at Josh's waiting for him to finish cutting his front yard. We'll either eat out or get some takeout.
Feel better from all the yard work!
Hi TuTu!
I need to check out the senior center too Hiker!
See you all later!

Hi. I'm tired too. I woke up yesterday with plan to clean out shed. I worked really hard both days and it is almost done.
I found about $300. Worth of stuff to sell...brand new kayak carrier...saws all...if I get $100. I will be very happy
Half of free stuff I put out is gone too
I would have to be very creative to last thru 4 Hr show...and that is if I'm in sit down walker
I've been wondering how your parents were doing hiker
We have a senior center... It just doesn't seem to fit me. Most of women are little old french ladies who believe ladies should be ladies...not shovel snow and walk dog in a wheel chair. I know they all talk about me in the neighborhood but I really don't care...I'm friends with a few younger couple and the elderly ex pastor and his wife.
And I'm happy gardening from my wc
Tomorrow Etta gets haircut and I pre register for surgery on phone. Its a week from Thursday...I hope that new hurricane doesn't screw things up
My daughter and her husband are having their yrly visit with his parents in Florida and then coming to my house the day before surgery
A new friend said she would drive me if they don't make it. She's a home health aide...or a nurse but not an r n
I'm in tub and Ettas going nuts. I might be back later

Not sure what else to say. I'm concerned about kam making a trip alone to CA. But Idk what to do about it
My cleaning lady is supposed to leave here soon with 4 cats and drive to see her daughter in Washington state. I keep saying she probably should go the southern root...but it doesn't seem to click with her...western mountain snow is different than our snow
Well...time to scrub a dub dub I guess
Talk soon

I managed to go to exercise today and picked up where I left off 10+ days ago. I did 37 min on the machine. I was not in the mood for walking laps .. plus I had to leave early.
Came home and cooked a chicken in the Instant Pot and then met hubby to take him a decongestant in case his dizziness was due to his sinuses.
He wasn't feeling well last night and his BP was elevated. I got him an apptm with our Dr tomorrow. I hope he doesn't want to back out of that!
He was feeling better this afternoon. He was so sweet. We had a large group of disabled young adults in this sandwich shop (after his show) and they were rather noisy. Hubs was just wanting to relax, you know?
When we walked out the door after he had his food, he stopped and said, "Let's pray for the children." So he stopped right there and we held hands and he prayed for them.
I think I'll keep this guy.
Kayak .. I hope things go well for you as you approach your surgery. One more thing that will be behind and done with!!
Hiker.. Hope tomorrow is great .. and the week is SHORT!!
AK .. You had another day of "rest!" Good for you!
I'm watching the Voice, but I thought there was supposed to be something else on tonight that I would enjoy. I wonder what I'm missing!?

Incredible fall day
Nice clean wind off water. I need this. I have been working hard. Just stopping half my supps and I can't hold weight on the new knee.
I feel very disabled. I'm not able to use my worst shoulder to hold cane or push myself up out of chair. Scary how fast I can get this bad
I have a whole week alone to take care of us. Idk
Tomorrow I see anesthesia...I'm going to see if I can take extra neurontin to replace fish oil curcumin and turmeric...I didn't realize how much they were helping me
Last night when I didn't see someone took 2 big free things I had out. And some one took 3 big heavy pieces of wood that needed to go to dump...I didn't know how I was gonna lift them! I have angels or hoarders coming by in the dark! It happened one other time
I bought another chair used from a lady...it smelled and felt fine. It is rocker swivel recliner. It is different. Whole frame is heavy metal not wood. I thought maybe that would make a difference
The upholstery is pretty and in good shape but the first time I sat in it in my house it burned my skin and have me dragon breath. Grrrrr. But my plan is to take the upholstery off. And ten pour boiling water over the chair. If that doesn't take the burning away I have to pay someone to blow torch it
That is how the other ppl get rid of burning toxin
I probably shouldn't tell you this. If you don't experience it I know it is very hard to understand it is real
And then you will think I am crazy. Please don't think I'm crazy. Too many ppl already do
I'm gonna text you a pic of this beautiful day. Hope everyone is having a great fall day

Thanks for the pics, LP! I can smell the sea breeze!
LP .. Do you take curcumin AND turmeric? Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric.
I really miss my fish oil when I run out. OUCH.
hiker .. It's hump day .. almost done for the week! Hope the Cubs win!
I went to Bible study today and then a bit of grocery shopping. The weather is cool. (60's for a high) I think 70's tomorrow and then some 80's again.
Hubby went to Dr and his BP was fine. I'm glad he went, though. Doc added a med or two for this and that, nothing major.
Girls can now be Boy Scouts. Like .. why bother?? They have their own group. Sigh.
I have to send some emails and make some phone calls for OCC tonight. We have some rallies coming up.
Have a great evening, everyone!
Wazzup, AK?

Wednesday-Took an Elavil last night for pain and insomnia. Did the job but I felt sick, tired and cranky all day. Thought it was supposed to help MCAD but sure made me sick. So back to Tylenol PM and liquid Melatonin and maybe Inositol.
All I did was make soup and sandwiches for dinner for me and Mom and folded one load of laundry and watered potted plants.
Kayak-I don't think you're crazy at all! What I was picturing while reading your post was putting the chair on top of a bonfire and roasting marshmallows. Smores anyone?
TuTu-Glad your hubby is OK. In regards to girl scouts I can remember getting kicked out of Brownies. I was a tomboy and didn't like to wear the dress uniform. My brother was a cub scout and it seemed they got to do a lot more outdoor activities. Course this was back in the 60's so I'm sure things are very different now.
Hiker-My chores and yard work are my exercise lately. I seem to be losing more muscle lately and am a little concerned. When I was going to the functional medicine chiro in 2015 he said I was not eating enough protein. In fact he said I had a lot of vitamin/mineral deficiencies. I think it's a malabsorption issue from MCAD.
See you all tomorrow!

Soup and sandwiches sound good, AK.
Got so involved in school work that I forgot to go to exercise center after work for gym equipment orientation. And so I didn't exercise, either.
Tomorrow is the last day of the grading period, so I will be swamped grading quizzes etc.
Going to watch Cubs tonight. It's win or out for them. May not be able to stay up for entire game, though. Have to be at work early for kids coming in to make-up lab work.
Have a good evening.

Thursday-One heck of a long day for me. Drove Mom and her BFF to Atlanta today. Mom had a sigmoidoscopy (partial colonscopy) today so we left home around 10:45 a.m. and just got home around 11:20 p.m.
Course got stuck in hideous rush hour traffic and after test drove to a new Japanese restaurant that was in the heart of downtown. Took me almost an hour to go 5 miles.
Afterwards took them to their favorite International market for some grocery shopping.
Whew.....
TuTu-You know me....I've been searching the internet for info on MCAD and found a really great one but didn't save the website. I'll try to find it so I can share the info. Had a wealth of info on what to do for malabsorption problems, pain and sleeping pill alternatives, etc. Got to find it!
Hiker-Grading papers counts as exercise! Might have another soup and sandwich or frozen pot pie dinner tomorrow. Had to take pain, muscle relaxer and sleeping pills tonight. Have bad SI joints and they've been acting up from yard work and all the driving today. Sitting all day is a problem for me.
See you all tomorrow!

AK--I hate driving in traffic and Atlanta is a nightmare. Kudos to you.
Man with Lyme here in town wants to start a support group. I am not interested right now, but have been trying to come up ideas for him to advertise and find people in area with Lyme.
My legs died in the middle of the day but I am 25% through the school year.
A teacher at work is a starting a prayer group for staff. Hope I remember to go early on Tuesday morning. Feel like I really need it right now.
Went to grocery store after work. That was my exercise.
Friend is going to pick up Chipotle and come over later Not that I need a burrito bowl, but I need some comfort food right now.
Stayed up and watched the Cubs until 11:00 last night. Good game and they won.

I am so hungry and I'm trying to stay away from salt and sweets.
Salt does me in very badly.

Slept like a rock last night. Really needed that.
Walked 25 minutes this morning.
Cooked, baked, and did school work.
Received an email from a student wanting to know how she could get her 1st quarter grade from a 75% C to a B. Little late now that the quarter is over and she never once approached me about it before. Kids!!
Broke my pyrex measuring cup, so went to store to get another and then went to library.
Will watch Cubs tonight. Hope Astros keep beating the Yankees!
Storms moving in and temps are going to drop from being 80 today to being a high of 55 tomorrow. Yuk.

Saturday-Divorce group meeting and church was great today. Finances in group and sermon still on Joseph (coat of many colors).
I was really, really bad today.....went to the Chinese buffet for lunch and dinner. I'm paying dearly with a bloated and uncomfortable tummy.
So my exercise for today was the many trips to the buffet line!
TuTu-Hope Kayak is OK too. Bursting to tell you that I talked with an acquaintance at lunch who was treated for Lyme. Well...low and behold she has residual symptoms of dizziness, anxiety, ear pain and ringing and horrible sinus issues. Sound familiar? I talked with her about MCAD and got her cell number so I can text her some links. Sure would like to pass along the help that you gave me.
Hiker-Atlanta rush hour is crazy. Took a lot not to stress out. Plus going to a new restaurant at that time made it even harder to deal with. Oh, and can the guy trying to start a Lyme support group put up flyers? Maybe put some up at churches, low income clinics and mental health facilities, VFW, libraries, museums and any place that has a public use bulletin board.
Oh, and let's have a moment of silent reflection on the passing of your pegs!
You guys are awesome! See you all tomorrow!
