Please remember Dr. Lis Heininger today.

She was misdiagnosed with MS for a LONG time, however, once diagnosed properly she became an advocate for all of us.

She helped many people with their struggles with Lyme and TBD's.

Shortly before her passing we were working on an educational project to be presented at the Watkins Glen Race Track.

I think of her a lot, but when there is a race at Watkins Glen (like today) it makes me miss her even more.

In Lis's memory a fund was established by the national Lyme Disease Association that would help other volunteer advocates be able to present educational programs for the community.

In 2016 the Lis Heininger Memorial Award was presented to Mrs. Jean F. Galbreath, founder and President of the Harford County Lyme Disease Support Group, Inc. and an amazing volunteer advocate of 22 years!

The award money was used to support a very successful Lyme & TBD program focused on children's issues.
