Here we go with another groovy week of getting off the couch!

Anything goes for exercise on this thread!

It can be cleaning, baking and cooking, playing a musical instrument, singing, walking, rafting, kayaking, weight training, etc. things that get you moving.

Here we go................

[woohoo]

Thanks, AK for starting us off. [Cool]

Started the morning off at 12:45 A.M. Snow plow came by and I hopped out of bed to clear the 2 foot mountain in front of the drive before it froze solid.

That is my exercise for the day. My muscles are sore especially my ab muscles.

May have to wait until tomorrow to hit the road to my folks. Highways still ice covered.

LP--Just saw your recent posts. Praying for you and your brother.

Are you sure doxy is good for you right now? Don't want to take steps back.

Stay tough.

Thanks, AK!! Hope you have a great day!

Kayak, I'm very sorry to hear about your brother. I hope he will be able to be up and around soon. It's so hard to go through things like that just when you are getting better.

I was totally with you in thinking you were herxing, LP! YUCK!

It was nice having lots of people in church today. Sure wish they would come ALL the time. We were getting worried we would run out of wine or bread, but we came out just right! (I am in charge this month)

Will have to do an extra tray for next week. Can you believe this is Holy Week?

The weather is cool. Facebook reminded me that 4 years ago on Palm Sunday, we had "blowing snow!" We are supposed to get a lot of rain this week. We need it, just hope it doesn't flood.

Hiker .. I had a feeling that you would hear that snowplow at "whatever" hour!! I'm glad you got it taken care of. Have a safe trip, whenever you decide to go.

Made it to my folks today.

Went grocery shopping for them. One of those huge stores where you don't know where anything is and nothing is where it should be. LOL

Took the hard drives out of Dad's old computers and hauled them to my car. I will take them to electronic recycling in my own town.

Managed a nap this afternoon!

Hope everyone had a good day.

Glad you got there safe hiker

My brother just texted he's doing ok

I have to take Etta for haircut early tomorrow so I did some stuff on a k s list!

I made gluten free Apple walnut bread and banana blueberry pecan muffind (very few nuts..)

I cleaned half my room

I moved the chair the kids gave me for Christmas outside to see if sun will fix it

And I cleaned up some stuff in the yard. I kept Etta on a leash near me so she got some exercise

Yesterday a red tail hawk was circling lower and lower and i brought her in. Tonight on news a girl in ct was attacked by a red railed hawk! Ppl still think I'm over reacting but little pets all over the country are being carried away by animals...I'm not over reacting

Anyway...my brother called in the middle of this. He s dopey but really happy. It was a very close call he could have easily died if he had gone to his regular hospital. His stomach was in a Charlie horse cramp so they went to closest one and he got really good care. He s really happy to be alive and planning to be bossing his guys around in 2 weeks

He s had 9 big surgeries in 2 years. Makes me look like a wimp

I need to get to bed so I can wake up early enough. Nite all.

Yes, glad you got there safely, hiker. I know you'll be exhausted by the time you leave there.. but it's precious time spent with your parents.

LP .. I don't think you are over-reacting. I've heard of hawks attacking and carrying off small animals like forever. It's a fact.

I'm happy to hear that your brother is thankful for being alive and is looking forward to getting back to work. Thank goodness he got good care!

I ran some errands today and bought some Hot Wheels cars on sale at Dollar General. I've already bought tons of things for OCC. I need to get a friend to help me get my inventory started.

I kept all the info on an app called "Sortly" .. If you need to keep an inventory of stuff, it's really easy to use.

Once I get the inventory in there, I will keep up with it each time I buy something, or each time someone brings items in to church. PS.. I'm working with a nice budget this year. We have some very generous church members who pay for the shipping each year and give us some shopping money. (the shipping cost is HIGH, so I am very grateful)

I cleaned out under my bathroom sink. I knew I had stuff in there I could no longer use. Threw out two big bags of stuff.

I also began working on taxes. I don't think it will take me that long this year. I already went through most of our receipts and it isn't as much as usual. Good news, bad news.

I hope AK is doing OK!!

Monday-Drastically changed my workout routine to 15 minutes of week 1 Lift series by Dr Bri on YouTube for pelvic organ prolapse. No gym either. Taking it easy until my pelvic floor muscles recover.

Couple errands with Mom, then Josh met us for lunch at the Asian buffet.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! [Wink]

Hiker-Glad you're enjoying your time off with family!

Kayak-Good news that your brother is OK. He must be some kind of Superman to withstand 9 surgeries in such a short time.

TuTu-Exciting news about OCC! So wonderful what you all do. I enjoy hearing about all the work and dedication that you all put into it. Way to go!

Still trying to read a bit of the Norman Mailer novel I bought last year. I'm only on page 323 of this 1282 page novel. It's a doozy and quite a heavy book. Hey, maybe I can count hefting it around as exercise?!

See you all tomorrow!

[Big Grin]

Tuesday-Another round of the pelvic floor routine. 2 loads of laundry then heading to Josh's for pizza and movies. We're also going to watch the new Rosanne TV series that starts tonight.

Trying to take it a little easy so the pressure I feel in my pelvic area lessens.

Hope everyone has a great day!

AK--I should be doing those exercises. Sometimes I sneeze and .... enough said.

Enjoy the movies. Let me know what you think of the new Rosanne show. I never watched the old one, but I need a good comedy. I forgot to record it.

Went to the swimming pool at the retirement center and walked in the water for 20 minutes. Only one other person in the pool at the time, so I liked that.

Went to visit an older friend (former teacher and fellow softball player) who lives in an assisted living facility. We had a great chat.

Off to take a short nap and then indulge in shrimp scampi in the dining room.

Wow, AK .. That is one huge book!! More power to you! Next is War and Peace! LOL

Good going on the exercise!

Hiker .. Water therapy is good for you!

Saw the eye doctor today. His clothes were obviously washed in the worst laundry soap/fabric softener ever. I got asthma from it and was not a happy camper for hours afterward.

YUCK!! That whole place is always heavily scented. I hate it.

OH .. and I'll probably have to have cataract surgery next year. My husband will too .. most likely. He's been putting it off until the last minute because he only has one good eye.

The doctor said, "Things CAN go wrong."

My cataracts are in the middle of the eye and they are getting worse. My other eye issue with the vitreous thing is better, but still affecting my vision.

Gotta go do my Bible study for tomorrow. I've been putting it off all day.

Hubby is still rehearsing tonight .. as we speak.

Hi. I'm having a slow day to recover from about 8 hrs at ocean yesterday. The air was so wonderful. Nothing burned on me...skin tongue eyes all good. I just didn't want to leave

I stayed til 4 so I would have time to get organic meat and veggies. They opened up again! I got chic Hamburg and breakfast sausage. That's the only way I can eat pork now. Even organic porkchop is too much

And carrots were only veggie. But I got some nice raw honey

I had planned to get my hair cut off to make it easier on the shoulder but last night I figured how to get it in a pony tail that will stay .... Not let pieces escape...so I think I will try that. I have to bend over so much my head is down by my knees so my hands can get all the hair in a scrunchy. So that may be part of my daily exercise routine

First I had to focus on getting mold out of my life and now I have to systematically focus on getting chemicals out

Also I'm hoping to cut down as much as possible on emf s. Because it seems they make everything worse

This morning while sitting here and resting I was able to order e z pass on phone. I have been trying to get one cuz paying the tolls to beach hurt my shoulder so bad. But I couldn't figure it out online and going in to office was going to be real hard for me. Today I finally found phone number and the lady made it so easy. In 24 hrs I drive right thru and get 30% discount

So I feel I am making progress even tho it is depressing to have air get so bad here where I live

I know becoming a nomad like so many do is not an option for me. I have to figure out a way to make it work here in this safe nest I am creating

I didn't realize your cataracts are that bad tutu. My appt to test them is in June. Are you ok with glaucoma? My vitrous stuff seems under control too
Oops...be right back

Etta had to go out. She always scratches her back on the concrete patio the day after she is groomed. Yuck!

Hiker I sure do hope you end up having a restful week. It seems like things have calmed down with your parents. Hope so. Hope for a peaceful relaxing week. Will you stay for Easter?

Ak...that is a crazy big book. I tried to read a big one once and never finished. It might have been war and peace.

I'm enjoying a series set in Kansas in late 1880s...I like strong female characters and farming and native American stuff...especially herbal cures

But a k I just can't understand the exercise you do with the bad shoulder. I do more than I should and cause pain but I'm trying to change my life so I don't have to abuse it so much.

I'm pretty sure I won't have surgery on it for a long time...even tho they say prognosis is good for no pain after. I will lose some range of motion...but it should still work fine

I am concerned about the meds and chemicals I am exposed to in hospital. The more I read the more I think my surgeries and radiation have a lot to do with my mcs getting worse

I'm just in awe of all the exercise you do a k and hope it is the right thing for you

I wanted to ask all of you if you would list a few of your fav meals you rely on. I'm thinking I will try to be very strict for awhile with diet and see if I can knock a few more pounds off

I usually eat according to healthiest foods I can find. But I goof up and eat restaurant or fast food when I'm overwhelmed. I've been stuck at this weight a year. Its 50 lbs more than when I stopped working. I want to work on getting rid of it if I can. Maybe fill freezer before the guys start working on house. I always mess up with food when it gets crazy with a bunch of guys here

Thanks.

Came back from my folks today.

Went to electronic recycling to dispose of dad's old computers etc.

Went to DMV to renew disability placard.

Spent some time at school grading a few papers and cleaning out a few cabinets.

Went to regular recycling and then vacuumed the car.

Am exhausted. Will be using my free coupon to get a gluten free pizza tonight as I have nothing defrosted.

LP-I eat a lot of organic chicken breasts, salmon, pork chops, meatloaf, homemade spaghetti sauce with rice noodles or over zucchini when in season. These are dinner staples (plus salad and a vegetable)

For lunch I don't do so well. Often canned soup or tuna. Once a week I have a hard boiled egg (sensitive to eggs, dairy, and gluten, so don't eat too much of those).

Breakfast is often rice chex with rice milk, or gluten free oatmeal plus a little bit of meat for protein and a banana.

I almost always have a salad each day and several pieces of fruit--bananan, oranges, appples etc.

I admit to eating dark chocolate of high quality. Doesn't seem to bother me.

Off to relax. Have a lot more to do this week and am not getting as much relax time as I thought.

kayak .. I'm sure surgeries and radiation (and cancer) contributed. Anything that's a hit on our bodies makes it worse.

As for food, you don't want my list. Chicken and Romaine lettuce is pretty boring. I can have the occasional peeled pear too. We won't discuss the ice cream and junk in between. I'm getting a handle on those .. I think.

As for my eyes, LP .. I'll send you an email. My Dr has been telling me about my need for cataract surgery for a few years now, but I have felt that I still had good vision .. until the past 2 months.

hiker .. I'm glad you got all that work out of the way and will have time to rest and relax at home for a few days!

AK .. How are ya?

Oh .. I went to church and got communion ready for tomorrow, and my friend helped me change the paraments on the altar. Then I picked up a salad and took it home...and went upstairs for Bible study.

I forgot to take my meds last night and I woke up in pain .. esp my knees. I didn't realize until I got my meds out this morning that I had forgotten them last night. Big OOPS. I still hurt in most joints today.

I'm off to our support group meeting tomorrow!

Wednesday-Feeling kinda blah today. Did my pelvic floor routine (10 minutes) and decided to rake and bag leaves for about 2 hours. During that time also sprinkled fire ant bait around the front yard.

Feeling a bit bored so will read or watch a movie tonight. Mom's already in bed.

Hiker-The new Rosanne was pretty good. Josh is a huge fan and he loved it! Kudos on the pool time and I envy your scampi!

TuTu-You sure have been busy! When you mentioned pain is that aches from MCAD? Sometimes I ache in way to many places and it gets me a bit down.

Kayak-Please let us know how Mark is doing!

AK .. the pain might be from MCAS, not sure. I've had pain since my early 30's. I ate a little bit of chocolate yesterday too.

Just too much inflammation in my body.

Thursday-Me, Josh, Mom and her BFF heading about 45 miles to our favorite indoor flea market, Angel's Antiques! Wonder what treasures we'll find today! Afterwards the plan is to eat dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant. I know I shouldn't order it but they make this wonderful eggplant dish that I'm crazy about.

Did my pelvic floor routine. Saving my energy for treasure hunting!

Sure hope everyone has a wonderful day!

P.S. Thinking of Mark

Whew. No more news from brother who is recuperating from gi surgery but I have some exercise to report!

Recently i find I have to treat myself like my students in order to get anything done. Set myself up to succeed and then feel good about it

Usually resting and reading is a good enough reward. Ice cream or dark chocolate and cherries are when I pushed too hard

Thank you a lot for food ideas. I guess we eat a lot alike...well...except for tutu who mostly doesn't. I get organic chic breasts and beef ...but mostly can only afford ground beef and pot roast. I probably should figure out a meatloaf recipe. I do make a chili with tons of veggies and only a little tomato paste.

I love pasta but just can't do much cheese and have to be very careful of tomato.

I really want to eat salads. Miss them so much. But most raw stuff I can't digest. I usually do ok with with apples and a small banana. But I always plan more than one veggie.

I mostly have oatmeal with fruit or yeast free bakery bread with sunbtter and blueberries or a homemade muffin and egg casserole or scrambled egg

I've been eating cottage cheese and apple for lunchblately and doing ok

I'm glad I can eat eggs. I limit dairy and gluten even tho I don't seem to react and gluten test was negative 3 times. I'm pretty lucky that way

I really miss tomatoes spinach and almonds...

So! My exercise...my goal was only to find empty totes and their covers from the back room...junk room is more like it. It was a dangerous place!

The living dining area has a lot more space now since I got the big chair outside and moved other stuff to exercise room...that will be junk room during the last remediation.

Dining room living room and office have walls on remediation wall so will all have to be scrunched to the other side and covered with plastic. I so hope it only takes them a week. All 3 doors enter to those spaces. Its not gonna be fun. I will mostly have bedroom bath and laundry. I 'll have to walk thru mess to get to kitchen

Anyway...it was pretty easy to collect empty totes and covers and get them to dining room.

Then I could see things that had a place to go...and packed up a lot and restacked and now its not dangerous to wake thru room

Then I knew where to put a bunch of stuff that was scattered in hall. Its so swishy thru there I cut my leg twice in a broken plastic tote

So it took about 5 hrs with rests but I'm pretty happy about it

The moving and lifting is exercise. And my legs hurt from about an hour of walking with Etta yesterday so I got exercise without walking. Yay!

Thank you all for support these last few days.

Hiker...I didn't realize you were coming home before Easter...but good to get things done

Hope you are having fun a k ! Walking and shopping is not my idea of fun...but I understand the thrill of finding something cool that is cheap. I've done that on Craigslist before. Sitting at home. Only smelling things that don't make me sick

I 'll check my email tutu. Thanks. Hope meeting goes well

Again. Ty guys for being there for me

lp--Hope Mark keeps getting better.

I don't stay at my parents for more than 3 days. It really gets them out of their routine and as much as we love being together it tires them out more. (and tires me out, too)

Went to buy organic meat today.

Got my hair cut and went to the library.

Have been relaxing this afternoon.

Every day over break it has either snowed or rained and today it rained again.

Am going to church tonight for Vigil at the Cross. I have the 8-9 shift.

Ak--Find anything fun at the flea market?

Tired ... Was in the city all day .. acupuncture, then support group meeting. (Lunch)

Then came home and rested a tiny bit .. then off to church for Maundy Thursday services.

Hubby had to play the service and then run to rehearsal. He will be gone till midnight, most likely, so I can't complain about being tired!!

Hope everyone sleeps well!

Today was the first day of my break when it didn't rain or snow.

Walked 27 minutes.

Went grocery shopping.

Made meatloaf.

Bought a new cordless grass trimmer. Still some snow in my yard, but I am seeing dandelions, too.

May go to church tonight, but I am pretty tired, so I may just stay home and read.

Friday-Wow, my legs were super sore from all the squatting to get the leaves and acorns into bags Wednesday. So yesterday it really hit me while treasure hunting. Had to take half a pain pill and sleeping pill to sleep. Then woke up around 4 and took a different half muscle relaxer and elavil. So groggy today but still ran errands with Mom.

She bought some frozen lobster tails so I'm going to cook those for her and maybe her friend later.

Way to go Kayak on all the activity and so glad your brother's doing better.

Let me know how your cordless trimmer works Hiker. I used to use a regular gas one but they're so heavy and hard to start.

I feel like calling it a day and it's only 5:30 TuTu! Sure it's the drug hangover I have. I don't know how folks can take those kind of meds on a regular basis. Makes me feel worn out!

Well, off to order more vitamins for Mom and see about those lobster tails.

Pretty cool, AK!! [Smile] It looks good on you.

Went to church early afternoon for Good Friday. Then hubby and I went to eat. I ran to Target for a few minutes after that. Well, I didn't run because my knees and joints are killing me.

Watching Wheel of Fortune now. I need a nap!!

I'm tired. But I made a nice chic soup. That was exercise

Did some dishes and laundry

Bought my 20 lb box of blueberries and a big bag of apples at maine farm store

All of that was exercise

Etta had a coughing fit tonight and I spent a long time trying to get her meds into her but she can eat cheese that is melted around the pill and then spit out the pill. Grrr! Sometimes she drives me nuts

I'm waiting for soup to cool but I'm so tired I might just stick it in fridge in the big pot and separate it into servings to freeze tomorrow

Seems like Etta stopped coughing tho.

I'm going to bed. After I move the soup. Good night. Thanks for being my friends. The old kind. Not the facebook kind.

Rainy and windy here. Snow tomorrow.

No exercise except up and down stairs doing laundry.

New dehumidifier arrived from Amazon and mailman was kind enough to carry it down stairs for me.

At coffee shop now but heading home to watch basketball tournament.

Lp- Glad your brother is doing better.

Have a good evening.

I came to report exercise. I've been kinda blah. Plenty to do here but I keep getting distracted...hard to focus

Its windy and chilly but bright Sun for first time in awhile

I put ettas coat on and walked around the yard to see if any green things were poking up where the snow had melted.

Most of its gone ... And I see daisies and lots of iris just starting to poke up

There's still 2 feet over the daffodils and hyacinth....I keep putting crocus there but havent seen them. I bet chipmunk take the bulbs.

So I have a big yard and now beds all around perimeter and around patios

As we were walking I remembered a k s posts about walking rocky around her lot in Alaska

She did that walk a lot!

I was out almost an hour on my feet and for me that is pretty good

Yesterday I went out but I put a chair in almost every corner so Etta could explore and I sat

But yesterday getting veggies and stuff required walking and hurt my shoulder(BIG containers of apples and blueberries)

So both days I have had some exercise...but I'm not able to stay focused on housework

But my chic soup came out good! That was work too.

I'm in a mood. Maybe its spring fever? Idk. But hope I snap out of it soon

Well I did more exercise. I vacuumed tiny kitchen. Dining area and living room. It made me tired so I think it counts.

I also found out my brothers incision is infected. He wentbthru a really painful procedure with no meds. He is on them now. Hopefully they won't slow down gut too much. That is working

But I guess for 3 says a nurse gave him antibiotics wrong. He said that's not why he got infection. But they finally caught her and she is gone.

So hope we all sleep well see you tomorrow.

Saturday-Cut back on my pelvic floor exercises. Just propping my hips on 2 pillows and breathing and a couple more easy exercises. Ran a couple errands then shopped for awhile.

Made deviled eggs for tomorrow and prepped a squash/cornbread dressing to go with the ham slices, green beans and rolls I'm making after church.

Hiker-Stairs are quite a workout! I tried to take my Mom to get some coffee today but she was still pooped from going out most of Thursday.

Kayak-Alas, poor Rocky only lived in Alabama. Wish I could have taken him to Alaska. I used to dream about me and my doggie moving to Alaska when I was married. Really wanted to get away from my ex and I'd fantasize about life up there a lot.

Well, off to bed gang!
