I am looking for feedback from anyone on this forum if they took advantage of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
To put in context, I am not looking to take time off through FMLA but the quality of my work has not been up to par lately. I am just afraid that I could lose my job over issues from a bug bite. I am sure most on this forum can relate.
Specifically, what arrangements did you make with your employer?
Also, how has the ADA protected you?

From my experience in '02....Large "good" corp will give you a year to return. They don't have to hold your specific job, they will put you to work in another job.
Most companies will only wait 3 mths. After this time period, if your doctor will write a letter stating you can return to work within a certain time period, most HR depts. will extend to that date.
You should be able to get a copy of your employers handbook that gives their guidelines on ADA from HR.
