Did you make a New Year's resolution to exercise?

Tell us all about your movement this week. Walking, cleaning, laundry, lifting weights--anything goes! [woohoo]

I usually take a break from my shoulder and balance exercises on Sunday, so the only exercise I got today was going up and down the stairs to do laundry.

Have a great week! [hi]

Thanks Hiker for getting us started this week!

I actually did a couple hours of yard work today! Picked up limbs and sticks in the yard and broke them down to fit in the garbage bag and raked one bag of leaves.

This is kinda sad but I'm dying to try my Amazon refurbished leaf blower/mulcher/vac. Wish it was something more exciting but alas, that's my life for now.

Tomorrow's Monday and our pest control guy is coming out so I want to try to make part of my Zumba class and get on the treadmill. That's the plan anyways.

See everyone tomorrow!

AK-way to go on the yardwork.

Did my shoulder cans balance exercises.

Went to Kroger for organic meat.

Went to library.

Paid another visit to chiropractor.

Hiker are those balance exercises getting any easier?

The pest control guy was early so I made it for the entire hour of Zumba! Yay! So nixed the treadmill and just laughed and danced around! Can't believe it's exercise!

Afterwards picked up my Mom and we went out for lunch at Boston Market and did some major grocery shopping, finally! We haven't really shopped since we got back from vacay.

So I'm beat and thinking of watching something on Netflix tonight.

See everyone tomorrow!

I did my shoulder exercises this morning.

I went to balance therapy this afternoon. My regular therapist was back. She had a bad case of the shingles, but I am so glad to see her back.

She mentioned that low vitamin D can cause chronic headaches and also vitamin D helps prevent reoccurrence of benign proximal positional vertigo. I don't take much vitamin D so may up the amount.

I am relaxing the rest of the day.

Did a few sessions of home PT for my SI joint and actually made it to the Y for the first time this year.

Walked 3 laps on the indoor track to warm up and cool down. Managed 20 minutes on the elliptical and 10 on the rower and almost 15 minutes in the sauna. Not to shabby considering that I haven't been to the gym since October!

Also watching my carbs and trying intermittent fasting. I usually do regular fasting but am giving this a try. Hoping it'll get my histamine levels and weight down. I try not to eat anything after a late lunch, so good bye snacking!

Way to go Hiker on being steadfast on your at home PT! How's the shoulder doing? Is the cold affecting you negatively?

Off to shop around online for some eyeglasses. Don't know if I mentioned that I left mine at Chili's one night and they haven't turned up. Miss my Ray-Bans!

NLIF—hope tooth extraction went well.

AK-way to go with exercise!!

Did shoulder and balance exercises today.

Went grocery shopping.

Met a friend and had peppermint tea and good conversation.

Am at chiropractor now. X-rays show upper cervical vertebrae way out of alignment. Ugh. Adjusting those sometimes causes vertigo.

Peppermint tea sounds wonderful Hiker! Have you had the adjustment on your neck yet? That's all you need, more vertigo! I have facet joints that get locked up on one side of my neck and I do home PT for those too.

The right side of my neck and SI joint and the left shoulder keeps me in pain. Some days are better than others though. I wouldn't know what it would feel like to have absolutely no pain.

So did my at home PT for the old SI joint and neck and then went to Zumba and danced around like crazy! I love this class and the group are all wonderful folks!

Took my Mom to pick up some meds this afternoon and it's only 6:30 and am ready to have a cup of tea and get snuggy in the bed and maybe watch a movie.

See you all tomorrow!

Had a chiropractor appointment at lunchtime today.

Tried to take it easy so I don't pull anything out of place right away.

Planted trees this afternoon! When I was canning & freezing fruit this summer, I put some seeds in the fridge in Ziplock bags with damp potting soil.

Some of them have nice long sprouts on them! I planted yellow peaches, apricots, yellow cherries & dark sweet cherries.

There are several varieties of apples, bartlett pears & grapes seeds that haven't sprouted yet. I decided to let those bags lay on the window sill for a week or two and give them a chance to grow.

Manna, you must live in a warmer climate. Our ground is too frozen to plant anything right now. Can't wait to hear how the new trees do.

I did my shoulder and balance exercises.

Went to ENT. He did not think sinus surgery would help my headaches (and I didn't want it anyway). He felt problem stems from neck as chiropractor suggested.

Very windy here. Gusting over 45 mph. I about blew away outside. If you live east of me, look up in the sky, I might be flying by. [Big Grin]

Sorry, forgot to say I planted the trees / seeds in pots... Its actually a cold 24 degrees tonight and there is snow on the ground from the snow on Tuesday.

Worked at some sewing this afternoon. And took a nap.

Hi everyone! Did my at home PT and headed to the Y a little early. Walked 3 laps around the indoor track to warm up and cool down and did my 20 minutes of interval training on the elliptical and 10 minutes rowing. Spent about 15 minutes in the sauna.

Had an optometrist appointment today, eyes are in great shape and my vision has improved. So with new RX in hand I went to the local military mall and purchased 2 pairs of Ray Bans. They had buy one get one free and I couldn't resist!

Vegging now and have to get up early to take Mom's car in or get it towed if it won't start again. Her starter needs to be replaced.

Manna it's so exciting to read about your tree project! What's the diameter of the pots that you're using? Do they vary in size for each type of tree? BTW, I'm thinking of sewing too. I bought quite a few patterns that were on sale and just a bit of fabric. What are you working on?

TuTu is it your knees? Sure hope you start to feel better soon! Glad you made it home safe and sound!

Hiker you must be super relieved to hear that you don't need sinus surgery! Sure hope the adjustments will help with the headaches. I get whoppers when my facet joints in my neck lock up. Believe it or not, Advil seems to help better than the muscle relaxers and pain pills I have.

Well off to relax. See you all tomorrow!

Up early to take care of Mom's car. Well it wouldn't start so I walked down to the shop and they came over and tried to figure out what was going on then pushed/rolled it to their shop to save me towing expenses. What a blessing!

It was the starter so with parts/labor it cost about $270 to fix it. Running great for a 2008, but it is a Honda.

OK, on to exercise.....

Zumba class today was fantastic and I put in extra effort in all the moves to intensify the workout. I had a bad carb day yesterday and was trying to make up for it.

Now I'm just chilling with Mom and might go out later to check venues for my upcoming 60th bday.

Later gang!

Wisdom Tooth extraction on Wednesday still has me resting and watching movies. A little bit of dizziness but nothing really bad.

Have been eating oatmeal, mashed potatoes, and some protein shakes.

I might wash some clothes tonight before watching TV some more.

Manname--How is your hubby doing?

NLIF--What kind of movies do you like to watch?

I went to chiropractor this morning and then to the library.

Balance therapy was switched to this afternoon so got a workout there. Still can't believe how hard the exercises are for me. Progress but slow progress.

Rewarding myself with Chipotle burrito bowl. Shame on me. 😋

Under a flash flood warning tonight, then more rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow tomorrow. Probably not a lot of snow, but it will be slick.

hiker, I can tell you were a teacher, that question sounds like an assignment written on the blackboard... [Smile] .

I like older movies mostly. Anything that makes you think and has a good story, and I'm a sucker for happy endings.

I'm not much for the current 'superhero' Marvel movies that the younger generation likes today.

Some of my all-time favorite movies would have to be The Shawshank Redemption, Field of Dreams, E.T., Back to the Future, Ben-Hur, Dances With Wolves, Hoosiers (Favorite Sports movie hands down)...I could probably answer this question a week from now and have a substantially different list, though.

AK, we used unwoven fiber bags for planting the trees. They were cheaper than getting pots and I could fit them snugged up against each other. I used the biggest size which is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 square and 5 inches tall.

In sewing, I'm working on pillow cases. I got a quilting book showing how to make the Sun bonnet Sue & Suspender Sam patches. I've been making pillow cases with those patches. Lots of fun! And so cute!

Last month Hubby had started some new supplements which seemed to overwhelm him. He cut way back on the amount and by the middle of the second week he was saying he feels like he's just slowly going downhill. So he quit them completely and is taking a break before he tries it again.

Oh, that is cool, Manna! We had a quilt in our family with those. I didn't know they had names. I think my oldest brother has the quilt.

It's probably 75 years old!!

FL... glad you got the dental work done!

AK .. My whole body hurts, but my knees are especially bad. It's been a week now. Slowly getting better, but I am so exhausted. I started on LDN last night and will work my way up on the dosage.

If it helps, I will order from another compounding facility. My pharmacy made them into capsules. I had never heard of that for LDN!!

So it's very hard to titrate up. My doctor HAS prescribed it before but was not well-versed in it. I think my dosage is too high, so I'm going slowly.

Hiker .. Just keep going on those exercises!! I am so far behind on my shoulder exercises that it's shameful. My next appointment is next Wednesday.

Manna--Sorry hubby is still fighting the battle. You quilting sounds great. I have absolutely zero skills in sewing, knitting etc.

NLIF--A teacher question would ask: What kind of movies do you like to watch. Explain why. What kind of movies do you not like to watch. Explain. LOL By the way, Ben Hur ranks as one of my all time favorite movies!

Tutu--hope those knees feel better soon. I find I have to set a schedule for my exercises. I know what days and what time of day I will do them.

So, today I did my shoulder exercises in the morning and my balance exercises in the afternoon.

Braved the wind and elements to clean the sewer grate of leaves so ice won't form by my mailbox. Rained earlier but sleet/snow mix now.

I did a load of laundry. I also made a pot of chili and froze most of it.

Have another splitting headache, but my neck is getting sore from all the chiropractic adjustments and all the head turning I have to do in balance therapy. Hate to go back to chiropractor this week, but probably will.

I did tape the Illini-Rutgers game and watched it fast forwarding through ads. Illini won.

Rooting for Vikings and Green Bay in football and for the Texans.

Off to write a few checks for bills and write my aunt a birthday card. She turns 95 this week.

Didn't make it to the Y as planned this morning, slept in instead. Did make it to the Chinese buffet for a luncheon we have once a month. Really, really should have gone to the gym.

Thanks Manna for answering my questions. Now I want to plant some fruit trees! Hope your hubs feels better soon!

TuTu is it MCAD causing the widespread aches and pain? Does LDN help with pain?

Hiker, chili sounds so good! I love it but my Mom doesn't so I haven't made any since I moved in in 2015. Hate that you had another bad headache and hoping the adjustments will help you.

NLIF glad the extraction is over and that you're recovering with cinematic aid. LOL! Can you believe that Shawshank Redemption was written by Stephen King? Haven't read the book yet but enjoyed the movie.

OK...time for sleep...I'm nodding off while typing!

[sleepy]
