Happy Sunday, everyone!!

We had two wonderful services today and a meeting in between. We all enjoyed ourselves and made some decisions going forward.

The sun was shining, but it was pretty NIPPY out there!!

So .. carry on .. I hope you are able to exercise this week. I'm not, but I am currently washing clothes.

We attended the funeral of our friend's son, who was 29. He was killed in a car accident. Such a tragic loss. There were about 1200+ at the funeral. Small town and everyone knows the family.

PS.. I am feeling a little better today.

Thanks, Tutu, for starting us off this week.

Washing clothes counts as exercise. At least I am counting it as my exercise today.

Sunday is my day off of shoulder and balance exercises.

Talked to my mom this afternoon and a friend took my dad to the ER with severe abdominal pain. He has had 2 hernia surgeries in the past 4 years and I wonder if he is headed for another one. He is 96, so he doesn't need this at all.

I will talk to mom tonight and if he is unable to go back to the retirement center from the hospital I will head there tomorrow. Of course, if he needs surgery I will take him as my brother may not be able to come up from Georgia.

Am on pins and needles until I talk to mom again.

My dad sent home from ER without a real diagnosis. So typical. He is to see his regular MD as soon as possible.

This happened the last time he had a hernia. The ER missed it and it took weeks to get the hernia repaired.

Thanks TuTu for getting us going this week! No exercise but cooked up a storm for dinner. Made a salad, air fried some baked potatoes, boiled some mixed veggies and grilled some steaks. Everything came out great and Mom, Josh and I enjoyed a home cooked meal.

TuTu how horrible for your friend to lose their child! Only 29 too!

Hiker your poor Dad! Yes, please keep us posted!

Off to read!

I know, AK... It is really horrible. He fell asleep at the wheel between here and the city.

Hiker .. I so hope this gets resolved soon. Many prayers for all of you.

I went to PT today. I only have one more session. She said if the pain continues, then see my Dr again. I was doing pretty good but yesterday during church I had knife-like pains in the back of my shoulder.

Thankfully, it went away after a few minutes.

Tutu--My shoulder is really acting up again. Hope I have not messed up the surgery. I can't go through all that again.

Got my dad an appointment with his GP tomorrow. Mom says he feels awful again today.

I did my shoulder and balance exercises.

Off to read. It's snowing a bit and still very cold out. A good couch day.

It's COLD out there! Was 18 degrees when I left for work this morning. Warmed up to a balmy 32 degrees this afternoon.

I hung some big pieces of wash out on the line - towels & jeans. Heard a funny sound and realized the jeans were frozen and knocking against each other in the breeze.

Will let the wash out until tomorrow and hopefully it will freeze dry.

Just a few stretches for my SI joint today. Then Mom and I headed back to a couple of craft stores today.

Also I found a dressy outfit to wear for my BDay. It's a black jumpsuit/dress looking thing with rhinestone shoulder straps. It's a perfect match with the birthday tiara and sash that I'm wearing.

I only go all out for decade BDays so this'll be good for ten years! LOL!

Hiker baby the heck out of that shoulder! Hopefully it'll calm down soon!

Manna had to laugh as I pictured the jeans clunking together! Do they really freeze dry?! I remember my jeans being so frozen they could stand up by themselves! LOL!

Stay warm friends!

I did my shoulder exercises at home.

Went to the PT clinic for one last session of balance therapy. Will continue exercises at home 4 times per week. Plan to add some walking in, too.

Talked again to 2 therapists about my shoulder. They think I just inflamed it and said to take 2 days off in a row from exercises and then only 3 times per week.

Went to chiropractor and now I have a headache. I think that exercise and chiro manipulations are releasing toxins (in this case the extra iodine) which increases the pain in my noggin.

Starting to think about dinner. [Big Grin]

Just a few SI joint stretches today. Took Mom to pick up an RX at the local military hospital and it took a little over 2 hours!

From there we went to the commissary and did some grocery shopping.

Home and vegging out now.

Hiker happy to hear the therapist think that it's just inflamed! I wouldn't push through your at home PT either. If your exercises are hurting too much I'd give them a call and put some ice on the shoulder. Glad that you graduated from balance therapy today!

See you all tomorrow!

Went grocery shopping this morning. Organic potato chips leapt into the cart. I reluctantly let them stay.

Saw dermatologist for post melanoma checkup. All is well.

Stopped by library to grab books on hold.

Worked really hard at my balance exercises. Lots of leg strengthening.

Skipping shoulder exercises today on advice of therapist but have been icing it a lot.

Snow and ice starts tonight and goes through Saturday. Hoping not too much.

See you tomorrow. 😀

Definitely baby that shoulder! My therapist made me do exercises that were too hard for me and I'm mad at her.

So I'm icing also. Praying it will settle down.

We had a birthday party last night for our birthdays. Friends took us out to eat and gave us gifts. Then we went to our place and played SkipBo until about 11 pm.

It was really fun!

It's snowing now but you can barely see it! Need a magnifying glass. LOL.

Manna, I remember frozen clothes once ..it was in Texas, believe it or not!

AK, everything was almost dry when we brought the wash in. The jeans I draped over the furniture overnight and by morning they were completely dry.
It was mostly at the seams where they were still damp.

We've had cold but sunny days this week. By Saturday they are predicting rain. So far the snow we got last Sat. is melting very slow.

My potting soil came today so I should get the rest of my trees planted tonight. Some of the ziplock bags are filling up with green sprouts!

Sounds like a fun birthday, Lymetoo!

Hiker, you'll have to try going past those chips faster next time.... maybe they won't be able to jump in fast enough! lol

Manna—Normally I don’t even go down the chip aisle. The cart went beserk and I had no control. [Big Grin]

Ahh, I see... You were hanging on for dear life as the cart went rocketing down the aisle and chips started jumping in. It was either jump or get smashed!! LOL

Enjoy the chips!!

Manna-You have story exactly right. It added to my exercise as I had to use my strength to keep the cart from the candy aisle and ice cream aisle.

Can’t wait to see how your new trees do.

P.S. chips were yummy. 😋

Did some SI joint stretches throughout the day. Going to skip Zumba and the Y this week so I don't aggravate my back.

I went crazy with house cleaning today! Started from the top by cleaning ceiling corners, lights and ceiling fans. Then cleaned anything hanging on the walls. From there I polished furniture and windexed knick knacks, TV's, glass, etc. So I finished the living room, dining room, hallway and 2 bedrooms. Took me about 5 hours!

I'm getting my haircut bright and early tomorrow and plan on cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. Also for fun I think I'll vacuum and mop the floors.

Getting the house and myself spruced up for my BDay party on Saturday.

Ok....I've taken my much needed Advil PM and am going to read myself to sleep. Night everyone!

I did my balance exercises this afternoon.

I took another day of rest from my shoulder exercises but hope to do them tomorrow.

Exercised my lips talking to a friend on the phone--does that count?

Otherwise it has been a lazy day. Snowing/freezing rain/rain mix all day and I could not get motivated to get out of the house.

Am now going to make some chili--perfect day for that kind of food.

Had a totally sleepless night so it was easy to get ready for my 8:30 haircut appointment. Afterwards went and gassed up my car and picked up breakfast for me and Mom.

As tired as I was still managed to do 2 loads of laundry, wiped down kitchen and bathroom and mopped those floors and vacuumed the rest of the house. Oh also cleaned the side security door and glass.

So that's my exercise for the day!

Hiker I exercised my lips today too so I think it should count. [Big Grin] I've been doing really well with fending off items jumping into the old shopping cart. What I didn't count on was my Mom going shopping and getting the bane of my existence, potato chips and cookies. I just can't win....

TuTu the party sounded amazing! Josh and I play SkipBo and Uno. We like board games to but don't get to play those as often. We used to always play Monopoly around Christmas time. I sure miss those days. Take care of your shoulder too!

Manna nothing beats the smell of laundry that's dried outside! I took our clothesline down when I was working on my Mom's house to sell. Now that she's kept it and we still live here I need to start doing some improvements. Trees would be lovely!

P.S. Desperately need a chili fix! [lick]

AK--Hope you are resting up for the big day tomorrow!

I did my shoulder exercises this morning and my balance exercises this afternoon. Need to ice my shoulder again several more times today.

Made blueberry muffins and froze most of them.

Still getting a light rain/snow mix here which will turn to snow tonight. Am waiting until it ends to hire someone to shovel the slush.

Off to read a bit.

That sounds like a great way to get extra exercise, hiker! (cart exercise)

Just pushing the cart in the store yesterday was too much for me. Yuck.

So today, my husband and I slept and munched on junk food. LOL.. pretty much true!

It snowed this morning but was above freezing. I'm not sure when it will be sunny again, but we sure need it!

Not sure what is on the agenda tomorrow.

Lots of stretches for the old SI joint and made it to my Zumba class today. Trying to get in shape for dancing tomorrow night!

2 of my friends baled on my birthday party but for very good reasons. So looks like me, Mom and Josh going out to dinner and then later me, Josh and another friend of mine are going dancing!

TuTu sure hope you get to feeling better soon. You don't want to miss the opportunity of random items jumping into your grocery cart!

Hiker it's only 9:00 pm and I'm already in bed getting ready to read something myself. I must be falling apart or something because after Zumba one of my knees hurt along with one hip and one SI joint. Oh...and I can't leave out my bad shoulder, it always wants attention. I laugh in the face of pain! Ha! Ha! OK...Well it won't stop me from dancing but it'll sure slow me down!

Back to reality and flannel jammies, crocheted blankets and a good book!

Happy Birthday, AK!! [woohoo]

I did my balance exercises.

Did some cooking and a load of laundry.

Watched Illini basketball squeak out a close game against Michigan.

Good friend came over and we had a gab fest.

Tonight I am watching a BBC science program that is in the series about wildlife on each continent. You can retire the science teacher from the classroom but you can’t take the love of science from me.

The BBC program sounds good, hiker!!

Happy birthday, AK!! Hope you get to dance tonight!! Be safe!

My exercise for the day was going to the store, then coming home to cook chicken and rice.

Oh .. I also washed two loads of clothes.

The sun came out today!! It was awesome!
