I'm up early and skipping church today. I'm still a bit short of breath and decided that after being in the ER maybe I should stay away from everyone for awhile.

Hope you have a great day today! It's the Lord's day!

Tutu-Thanks for starting us off for the week. [woohoo]

I did a load of laundry and that is my exercise for the day.

Watched church service via zoom.

Worked on Bible study. (Daniel chapter 8)

Still snowing but the snow on my porch, sidewalk and upper driveway melted so I broke my rule about shoveling heavy snow and finished clearing the drive. Hoping my shoulder doesn’t hurt too much. Couldn’t see paying Luke the full amount for 1/2 the job.

Had a short phone call with mom.

Settling in to read now.

Have a great week!

MannaMe—Are you in the path of the winter storm?

Hiker .. we really enjoyed our study of Daniel.

We are starting Galatians on Wednesday.

Our church group skipped February because too many people were unable to attend. (It was scheduled for Tuesday.)

Thanks TuTu for getting us started this week. Sure hope you're going to be OK. Am praying for you and your hubby. A good friend recommended that I buy Josh an oximeter when he suspected Covid. His heart rate was up to 132 and oxygen down to 96-95. He almost passed out a couple times. Glad that you stayed home today.

Hiker I finally finished that puzzle that my niece bought me for Christmas. Stayed up til 1:30 to finish. It was one of the harder puzzles I've done since the pieces were very unusual. I need to break down and read an actual book instead of downloading one. I've got a couple that look good and I can take my time.

Well yesterday I went gangbusters. Still a bit dizzy but managed to dust, vacuum, mop and wipe down the bathroom.

Then I started the cooking. Made pepper steak for dinner last night and packed up the leftovers for Josh. Also prepped the roast for today.

So today I cooked a brisket with onions, carrots and celery with Lipton onion soup mix in the crockpot. Boiled a variety of small potatoes and made broccoli and cheese (one of Josh's favs). Packed up more leftovers for Josh and also included some cheeses and lunchmeats.

He shouldn't have to cook all week! And us too! Plenty of leftovers.

I'm definitely tired and ready to get some rest.

See you all tomorrow!

[hi]

We had snow overnight Sat night, light rain/drizzle all day Sunday, and a little more snow again over night Sunday night. Currently is rather foggy out there. Supposed to change to rain again this afternoon. Possibly more light snow tomorrow.

Bread day again today, so I better get busy.

Oh, yes, Sat evening we got the upstairs bathroom functioning! Its not quite finished yet.... want to put new flooring in, needs trim at the window, closet shelves, etc. But the necessary pieces work!

AK .. Please check your email. I hope the dizziness goes away soon. The brisket sounds good. I can't use my crock pot anymore. The food is just too high in histamine for me.

Manna .. That is awesome about another working bathroom!!

Picked up my heart monitor just now. They had said for 7 days, but when I got it she said 21 days. ARRGGH!!

I felt a bit faint while standing there so I left and came home. I had planned a quick trip to the store.

Tutu--Have you been checked for covid? Covid can cause dizziness and heart rate problems. Just a thought.

Manna--I am sure you are excited about the bathroom. Your hubby and kids sure worked hard on that.

Cleared the driveway of the snow that blew last night. Now it is melting and a gorgeous sunny day.

I did my knee exercises.

Then, I went to chiro for a manipulation and have taken it easy most of the day.

I did take my recycling to the bins at the nearby grocery store.

Chatted on the phone with my Georgia friend for about 2 hours.

Time to roll the garbage can down to the street.

Yeah, been tested. Might need testing again.

I feel fine, otherwise, though.

TuTu thanks for the email. I took a pain pill, muscle relaxer and half a sleeping pill and feel better today. I got dizzy after my 3 days at the gym and think I tweaked my bad shoulder from rowing. Pain and muscle spasms tweaked that side of my neck which doesn't normally happen. I felt dizzy while laying down if I turned my head. Sure scared me but I'm better today thank God.

Hoping you and your hubs are OK.

Manna how wonderful that the second bathroom is up and running! I want to be at your house on bread baking day!

Hiker what a coincidence! I talked with a friend for a couple hours too! Must be something in the air!

My Mom was blessed with extra money per month for a government offset. We thought it was going to be subtracted from her regular VA surviving spouse benefit. Josh stepped up to the plate and was going to pay the power bill and my plan was to work part time and make up the difference.

We were all pleased as punch and Mom wanted to celebrate with Italian take out again. So the three of us enjoyed another wonderful meal together.

Stay safe and warm friends!

[group hug]

I went to my functional chiropractor today for homeopathic advice. He changed the dose on them but didn’t add or subtract any. He decreased dosage on most.

He said I seemed to feel better and asked why and when I told him I stopped my Flonase he said the steroid in it can interfere with energy testing. So, he retested the olive oil and isopropyl alcohol and I am not sensitive to them. Not sure I always agree with him and I am always leery of energy testing but so far the homeopathics have helped.

I did my balance exercises.

Filled the bird feeders and then just sat and watched for an hour. I had a feeding frenzy and saw red headed woodpeckers, lots of robins, cardinals, blue jays, finches, chickadees, juncos etc.

Called mom. Then took a nap.

Ready to read and watch Illini basketball this evening.

Didn't get much sleep. Josh took the trash to the curb last night and the wind blew them down so he put them right back in the carport. I had to get up early to take out the trash after staying up to late.

All I did today was pick up wind blown trash in the yard and heated up leftover pepper steak.

I'm ready to go to bed and it's only 7:46!

Hiker I bet you enjoyed seeing all the birds! We have some here but there's cats that roam the neighborhood and I think they killed a couple of blue jays that I found in my yard a couple years ago. I miss seeing all the wildlife and peace and quiet of country living.

Off to bed....

I stayed up too late last night but did get myself motivated this morning.

I went to the grocery store.

I did my knee exercises.

I also went for a short walk. 35 and sunny and no wind. I'll take that in the winter!

Talked to mom and then to anther friend for a long time.

Time to finish reading the newspaper and do the crossword puzzle.

Hey you two .. Can you beat 1:30 a.m. for bedtime??

I promise to get to bed earlier tonight!!

Talked to my GP this morning and he didn't think I needed to be tested for Covid. He read the notes from the ER visit and asked me some more questions. He told me to keep him in the loop.

Covid cases are down in the nearby city. They credited all the testing that is being done at the colleges. I guess the students finally paid attention too.

I do have heartburn from eating chili last night. I guess it will be awhile before I do that again. I had been getting away with it, but I also ate coleslaw. I think it was too much!!

Got all the bottled water out of my trunk because it's going to be below freezing 24/7 for several days in a row later in the week and weekend.

Had to get up early because our yard guy was here this morning.

After he left I used my blower/vac in vac mode and vacuumed some leaves around the monkey grass I planted last year. Also did some weeding and picked up sticks and limbs in the yard.

So outside for about 2-3 hours. Enjoyed the sunshine but am sore. I'm so out of shape!

Hiker I bet you enjoyed getting some air and exercise today.

TuTu am relieved to hear that your GP doesn't think you have Covid.

My plan is to sleep in tomorrow! We'll see how that works out. [Roll Eyes]

Time to scrounge around for some chocolate....

Last evening I planted my gala apple trees. I had seeds in the fridge for several months and they sprouted! So 7 baby trees!

Been doing a couple loads of laundry each day.

Tomorrow is baking day again. Measured out my flour for tomorrow.

Hubby said the one wall in my sewing room is ready to paint. So I will get all my supplies ready to start as soon as my bread is baked!

Hubby was looking where the sun lays in during the day to decide where to put a greenhouse. He says "I'm ready for spring!"

MannaMe-Apple trees means apples which means apple pie! Okay, it may be years from now but you can dream.

I had Bible study this morning via zoom. Great group of women.

I did my balance exercises.

Called mom.

The rain has turned into freezing rain and will soon turn into snow. Winds are as high as 45 mph.

So, I am heading outside to put down some ice melt, but I suspect with the wind and the upcoming deep freeze temperatures it won’t help much.

Manna-I agree with your husband that, “I am ready for spring.”

I slept in today! Yay! Went to Party City and bought some paper plates, napkins and a banner for Josh's upcoming 40th birthday. Can't believe my nephew is turning forty!

Picked up some water, lottery tickets (me) and scratch off tickets (Mom) and a slice of carrot cake which I don't need at my fav grocery store.

Outside of that it's been a very relaxing day!

Manna I'm with Hiker in regards to the apple trees! I love apples! It's one of the foods that I can eat with no reaction. I buy unsweetened Granny Smith applesauce for treats. I'm not ready for spring yet because my honey do list is about as long as my forearm!

Hiker I was running around in cutoff shorts today. It was really to cold for them so I ended up coming home early from my errand running. I really need to buy some yoga pants or sweats since I gave mine away due to weight loss. I have my Mom's old stretchy Lycra workout capris but I don't like the fabric and they leave nothing to the imagination! Geez Mom!

Well...hoping I won't be as sore tomorrow so I can do some more work outdoors.

Night all!

Baking day... didn't get much done besides that.

Washed dishes. Heated up left overs for lunch.

Got a store list ready for the boys to go shopping at Walmart.

Swept the floor and wiped the dust off the wall in my sewing room. Ready to paint tomorrow morning.

Gabbed with my sis-in-law for awhile.

There are some mature apple trees here so we will be able to have some before mine are ready!

I got to work this morning and washed my flannel sheets and put them back on the bed.

Made a meatloaf.

Did my knee exercises.

This afternoon I spent a lot of time on Bible study.

Called my mom.

Got a call from my Floridian friend and had a nice chat.

Walked down to the mailbox and decided with the cold and wind that I would go no further. [Big Grin] Only going to get colder and windier the next week along with some more snow.

Have a great evening!

Hey, everyone! I did get to bed by midnight (close, anyway!) and got up at 7:30.

Ran errands and watched videos most of the morning and early afternoon. Picked up more supplies to make more little birdies.

Bought more groceries too. Beautiful weather .. 50's and sunny.

It will turn cold tomorrow and the last I heard, we may get snow. I don't know if that idea has changed or not.

Ran my Roomba .. gotta love the little guy! He's noisy, so I set him to run when I left the house.

Manna .. apples sound good to me! I can only eat certain ones. You should plant some opal apples trees!

Hiker... Your meatloaf always sounds good to me!

AK .. Tell Josh happy birthday for me!!!

Painted 2 coats of primer on my sewing room wall! If its dry enough this evening, I'll add a coat of the left over paint from the bathroom.

Got all the laundry washed, with 1 more load to go into the dryer.

Had an old friend call this morning. We hadn't been in contact for a couple years. Gabbed for almost 3 hours!

Lymetoo, never heard of Opal apple trees before. Ak, I make our applesauce without sweeteners. Using a blend of apples makes a really good sauce. My old neighbor lady said the best blend is Macintosh, yellow delicious, and smokehouse apples.

I tend to use whatever I happen to have. They say having a sweet & a tart apple mixed takes the applesauce flavor up a notch without needing sweeteners.

Hiker, what do you add to your meat loaf? We all like meatloaf except one of my daughters says she doesn't like it.

Asked Mom if she'd like to go out today and was pleasantly surprised when she said yes. So we went across the river to Alabama to a little German grocery store/bakery/restaurant. Bought some peasant bread and brandy-filled chocolates. I'm giving one box to Josh for his BDay.

Afterwards we shopped at a little thrift store down the street. Mom bought some candles and artificial flowers. I bought a rubber mallet and short-handled pitchfork.

Looking into our cart made me sigh...I don't have to many friends that buy tools at the thrift store. [Roll Eyes]

After dropping off Mom I went to JCPenney's to buy some 3/4 sleeve t-shirts and yoga type pants. Couldn't try them on at the store so when I tried them on at home everything is too large! I bought teen XXL yoga type pants and PXL T's. Now I have to go back tomorrow!

Manna talking on the phone counts as exercise! [Big Grin] I bet you're excited about getting your sewing room spruced up. I have a painting job coming up this year too. I need to paint our rusted chain link fence in the backyard. It sure needs a facelift!

Hiker that meatloaf does sound good! I need to make it more often because it's one of Josh's favs. When my Dad was alive and I lived at home, I'd make a couple of meatloaves and weigh portions out and freeze them. It sure saved time on meal prep.

TuTu thank you for the BDay well wishes for Josh. The big day is the 13th and we go to the same Mexican restaurant every time. We'll get takeout this year but that's OK. He's already put in his order for a tiramisu bar cake and coffee ice cream.

Time to look online for ideas for my upcoming yard projects. I'm still battling topsoil erosion and I'm determined to fix it.

[hi]

Manna .. Opal apples are relatively new and are only grown in one area. They are a pretty yellow and taste much better than Golden Delicious.

I can only eat a few varieties. Opals are only available certain months of the year.

Manna--My meatloaf is pretty basic. Ground turkey or beef with a bit of brown sugar, gluten free bread crumbs, onion, garlic and catsup.

Tutu--The opal apples sound good, but AK--so does the coffee ice cream for Josh!

I did a load of laundry this morning.

Did my balance exercises.

Made salmon with sweet potato and asparagus for lunch.

Went to recycling bins, then got gas, dropped a few books off at the library and then went and bought bird seed and suet.

Starting to snow now. Temperatures will be at least 7 below tonight. Ugh.

BRRR! Hiker, that's COLD! Stay in and keep warm! Your meatloaf sounds good! And the salmon, sweet potato & asparagus! I like all 3.

Today I finally got started cleaning in my sewing room! Have one side of the room done, the easiest side. :-) I'm tired! Not sure I'm going to go back to it again this evening..... maybe if I get my second wind.

The boys took the stand for my overlock machine up and a shelf. Now I will need to decide exactly how I want the rest of the room set up.

When you get some Opal apples, save some of the seeds for me and I'll try growing some!

AK, so glad you could find tools second hand! They are expensive new!

Should decide what I want to make for Sunday lunch and get it out of the freezer. Maybe I can find some salmon. I know we had some but it might be on the bottom of the chest freezer.

Went to exchange my clothes today. Decided to shop for pants at another store in the mall so shopped for a couple hours. I had a good time. Came home and made fried rice, sautéed zucchini sticks and teriyaki beef for dinner.

Cut my hair today but boy, oh boy is it short! I bought something called the CombPal from Amazon that helps you figure out how much to cut and obviously I used the wrong length guide. Thank God it'll grow out!

TuTu I don't think I've heard of Opal apples either. Thanks for the link!

Manna we're back to doing Sunday dinners with my nephew. My Mom is making egg rolls and fried tofu. I'll lend a hand if she'll let me. Have plenty of leftover fried rice too. Hope your lunch is fabulous!

Hiker oh my that's cold! Sounds like a day for hot cocoa! Your lunch sounds so good...especially the salmon. One of these days I'm going to try and see if I can eat fish again. I've reacted to shrimp and scallops but maybe fish is OK.

See you all tomorrow!
