Are you gardening, walking, doing housework or yardwork? Is weight training, hiking, running, horseback riding, etc. your usual routine?

Just about anything counts as exercise on this friendly thread. We post our activities here to help motivate one another.

Here we go with another week......

[woohoo]

AK—Thanks for starting us off. Sounds like today you need to rest after all your outside work yesterday.

Sunday I usually rest my body, so aside from watering the flowers and doing one load of laundry I am being lazy.

I did go to church via Zoom. And then we talked after the service.

We zipped from a cold spring right into summer. In the upper 80’s today and humid. May sit on the porch for awhile but know I will wilt quickly. Heat and I do not get along.

Hiker .. I still haven't done Zoom. Is it easy to do? It would be great for our congregation but the ones who would benefit the most probably wouldn't be able to do it.

We went to church and our friends came too. They were going to surprise us last week. Then we went out to eat lunch.

Her husband stopped by to help me package up the console table I was unable to put together .. so he just started assembling it! It looks great and I have a matching end table that is on its way.

I had ordered it BEFORE trying to put table #1 together!! Evidently my hands just CANNOT do it. I don't think my husband could have either. (he was not onboard with trying)

So anyway, it looks great!

Took a nap in the late afternoon, so I guess I'll be up for awhile!

Watching Titanic now. I've missed the beginning twice already. I wish I had thought to record it.

Can’t believe it is already Memorial Day—remember and honor those who served and gave their lives.

My dad, a World War II vet, turned 97 today. Sadly he and mom are still locked down in their retirement center and I was not able to celebrate with him.

So, I did my knee and shoulder exercises.

I walked 30 minutes.

I repotted some of my indoor plants.

Plan to grill pork chops for dinner.

Happy birthday to your dad, hiker!! We thank him for his service! I hope you got to talk to him today.

It rained twice today .. plenty. Our creek is raging and they just opened the flood gates on the big dam. We have really had the rain. We are over 30 inches for the year. I think it's over 10 inches this month....probably way over.

I got bored and went to Lowe's for some plants. I don't need more, but hey. LOL. I can't even put the plants on the edge of my balcony so they are all bunched up near the windows. Otherwise they get too much rain on them.

I managed to go after one storm and before the next one hit. Quite a few people were doing the same thing. Saw one of my best friends there too.

She was buying plants for our church's planter. She has been taking care of the plants since winter; even during the quarantine.

So, I guess I'll go plant a few things in a bit. I bought another lantana. It's red and orange. Also some more impatiens (hot pink) and another plant whose name escapes me right now.

At least the sun is out now.

Take care, everyone!

Tutu—I have never grown Lantanas. Bet they are pretty.

I did my balance exercises this morning and watered my flowers outside.

Went to chiropractor for much needed adjustment and so took it easy this afternoon so adjustment will hold.

Worked on the new Bible study—The Sermon on the Mount. It will be nice to dig into the New Testament as the last 5 of our studies have been from the Old Testament.

I did go to the public library in the adjoining town to pick up 2 books on hold. Pouring rain there but not raining 10 minutes away at my house, yet.

Laughing at mallard ducks who seem to like visiting my yard even though the lake is a mile away.

Finally recovered from my yard work marathon. Didn't work out yesterday at all but did my usual 3 DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine today.

Hiker I'm so sorry you didn't get to celebrate with your Dad on his BDay. You must be proud of his service to our country.

TuTu going to the nursery is high on my to do list for next week. I'm planning on tackling my next outdoor project which is to address the erosion problem in the yard. I bet the plants you bought are gorgeous!

See everyone tomorrow!

Hiker .. lantana is VERY hardy and will withstand the sun and the heat. It grows wild in Texas!

I ran a few errands today... got some OTC meds I was needing.

It rained again this morning ..then no more. Whew.

Busy day.

I did my grocery shopping.

Then did my knee exercises and shoulder exercises.

Filled the bird feeders. Then went for a 30 minute walk.

Went to local vacuum shop and bought a light weight cordless vacuum. Only weighs 5.5 pounds and I know my shoulder will thank me. Just hope it works as well on my carpet as it did on the store's carpet.

I am totally exhausted. Too tired to water the new flowers so hoping the rain they keep forecasting comes.

After fueling up with a couple cups of coffee did my usual 3 DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine. Made lunch for me and my Mom and worked on a puzzle.

Picked up Josh later and we drove thru to get some Mexican fast food and vegged at his house and watched a movie.

TuTu lots of lantana down here too. They definitely can take the heat!

Hiker you got a lot done today! Glad you found a light weight vacuum.

See everyone tomorrow!

Dianthus...That was the name of the flower I was trying to tell you about. I have had a planter of them for several years. It's a very pretty light pink.

So I bought some brighter pink ones and will mix them in with the old plants. Then another pot of the brighter pink. It always amazes me when they survive the winter.

I think it would be easier for them to survive if they were in a flower bed, but maybe they don't care either way. lol

My morning glory came up today!

So .. I had bible study on Uber Conference today, then fixed King Ranch Chicken. (already in progress from yesterday)

Took off to pick up food from the grocery store, came home and finished putting the food in the oven, then back out to get a med for hubby that I forgot yesterday.

Waiting for my new end table to arrive tomorrow. To complicate matters, the replacement console will also arrive tomorrow. That's the one I DON'T NEED.

So .. I have the label ready to go on it to be sent back, but the challenge is to intercept the UPS driver before he takes off!

Had planned to go get blood work done tomorrow, but will have to hang around here. Even managed to get hubby to get his blood work done. I hope at least ONE of us will be able to accomplish that!

Hiker .. We are on the same wave-length! I just ordered a small vacuum yesterday. The one I bought last year is TOO SMALL and too puny. It doesn't do a good job on my rugs.

I had the perfect vacuum, but my stupid workers from two years ago decided to use it to vacuum sheet rock dust. My mistake was buying the wrong one to replace it. (Yes, they paid for it.)

AK .. Mexican food sounds good!! I'm ready for some!

OK .. off to bed .. See ya tomorrow! [hi]

Washed coats and jackets today. Want to pack away the winter coats.

Picked the asparagus again. This picking went into the freezer. 5 small packs.

Only got a few stitches put in my dress today.

Worked at putting info in to start listing stuff on Etsy.

Sonny was working outside this afternoon. Cleaned up some wood and ran the weed eater. He's pleased with how much better it looks out there. Asked the others as they came home from work, if they noticed?

Manna—would love to see your Etsy site once you get it ready.

AK— great minds think alike. I am grabbing a burrito bowl at Chipotle in a few minutes.

I did my balance exercises this morning.

Went to dermatologist this afternoon and all was ok. I like the MD and she was kind enough to ask how I was dealing with the pandemic. Illinois opens up a little more tomorrow but I won’t be going out any more than I am now.

Worked on Bible study this afternoon and feel pretty lazy.

I have a good mystery novel and will read tonight.

Egads! Slept about an hour last night so decided to get out of bed around 6:00. Got my workout done super early and got dressed and ready and was out the door around 8:30 to run a couple of errands.

Came home and waited for my Mom to get ready and took her to get some blood work done and after that she had a PT appointment.

On the way home we stopped and picked up a few groceries.

Now I'm just vegging.

TuTu I like Dianthus too! I didn't realize that they're perennials. I'm armed with a bunch of info that my local co-op extension office emailed that was a virtual treasure trove of what to plant in Georgia. Next week I plan to tackle the erosion issue and put some plants in the ground and some landscaping lumber. Better dig out my heating pad!

Manna I want some asparagus now. Hoping I can get into the commissary tomorrow with my Mom so I can pick some up. We bought some grapes, organic apples and cherries today so I'm feasting on fruit.

See you all tomorrow!

We were posting at the same time Hiker! Glad that your derm appointment went well! And yes, great minds think alike. I'm still wearing a mask and gloves when I go out and so is my Mom. I'd rather err on the side of caution.

Manna .. We barely used our coats this winter. I put ours away a few weeks ago and my husband has taken his back out twice now. LOL .. It takes a lot for me to be cold.

I would probably be cold wherever it is that you are. Sounds much colder there.

'AK ... Be sure to pace yourself!! You'll have to text me some pics when you get it done!

I had a very successful day .. HA! I got up a bit earlier so I could possibly intercept the UPS driver when he arrived with my two packages. One needed to be sent back and I had a label for it.

The key was catching him in time! I had just gotten out of the shower when my husband told me he thought he heard UPS. Neither one of us was dressed!!

I grabbed my robe and looked out. The package that I wanted to KEEP was there by the door. I didn't see the truck, so I thought YIPPEE! they didn't send the other one.

NOPE>.. A few minutes later I heard him out there and I opened the door only to see him going up the steps and package #2 (which is HUGE and heavy) outside the door.

I called to him and he heard me. He came back and I asked him if he would take the second one back and that I had a label for it.

He said sure and waited while I taped it on there. WHEW!!! That was SO CLOSE!! Eventually, it would have gone back but the worst thing would have been having to take it down to the UPS place to send it back. UGH!!

Even waiting for them to come back for it later would not have been fun.

So that made my day!!

I worked on cleaning out files, shredding stuff, etc. I had done quite a bit of that a month ago, but needed to work on it again.

I was thrilled to see a deer from my balcony this afternoon. We don't usually see them unless it's early morning or early evening. This was about 4:45 pm. I even got a pic of her!

I rarely see them from my balcony .. more likely in other areas of our neighborhood.

Hiker .. I'm glad they are opening your state a bit more. I sure hope it goes well!! We are still being careful, but we have eaten out twice now. My friend who had COVID doesn't have to worry about anything! I can't say she's lucky though!

My plants look better today. We've had so much rain that they were just struggling. Today they all perked up and look like they are catching a breather. lol

I did my knee and shoulder exercises today.

It is beautiful outside but my knee and shoulder are really hurting again, so I decided not to go for a walk as pushing on my trekking poles really hurts the shoulder.

I made some phone calls to switch my general practitioner. The one I currently had was a nice enough guy but he also did pediatrics and I didn’t feel like he was meeting all of my needs, so I switched to a woman in the same practice. But I can’t even get in to meet her until August.

I made a meatloaf and froze most of it.

I have a young man coming over this evening to give me an estimate on trimming all of my bushes.

Later: Luke came by and $35 for all bushes. Not bad.

Yay on the bushes, hiker! Totally worth it!!

I baked another banana bread because the bananas were ripe. I'll freeze part of it.

My friend and her husband came over tonight and we picked up food at a Mexican restaurant. Then her hubby put my other shelf together.

Tiny problem... I ordered the wrong color .. wrong stain of the wood. GRRRRR... I'll check tomorrow. but I think it was my own fault, not the company's error.

It's OK since it's on the other side of the room, but disappointing, nonetheless..

We also played Skip Bo until late. It was fun, as usual!

I'm off to bed!

AK—hope all is well with you. Did you get Josh’s car fixed?

Tutu—I haven’t had friends inside my home since March. And not likely to happen for awhile.

I did my balance exercises this morning and trimmed some grass by my chain link fence. I think when Jim mows he is afraid his powerful trimmer will cut the links on my fence and the grass grows up between the links.

Went to library parking lot to get two more books on hold.

Paid a few bills.

Did a load of laundry.

Am going to read the new Scott Turow book I got from library this evening. Sat out on the patio and started it. It is called The Last Trial.

She's already had COVID and her husband was exposed to her.

She thinks he may have had a light case about the time she was also ill.
